Description

一些輸入裝置比其他輸入裝置經較佳組態以執行某些功能。舉例而言,觸控板及觸控螢幕可用於提供位置資訊,且按鈕可用於指示選擇。因為大部分計算裝置執行數個不同功能,所以常常需要能夠以不同方式提供輸入之不同輸入裝置之組合。
此外,許多計算裝置設計為攜帶型,例如媒體播放機、遠端控制器、個人數位助理(PDA)、蜂巢式電話等。設計此等攜帶型裝置之輸入裝置存在一些特殊問題。舉例而言,通常需努力增加此等攜帶型計算裝置之能力且因此增加其能夠執行之功能的數目。因為此等攜帶型裝置執行之操作數目增加,所以控制此等操作所需之控制器數目及此等控制器之複雜性通常亦增加。一競爭性問題在於亦存在使攜帶型計算裝置更小且因此更可攜帶之壓力。然而,當此等裝置之尺寸減小時,定位輸入裝置之空間量亦減小。
因此,存在對緊密輸入裝置組態之需要,其可用以以各種不同方式控制各種不同功能。
本文描述包括計算裝置之裝置的示範性實施例,其實質上同時使用至少兩個不同輸入裝置以產生一單個命令。兩個不同輸入裝置之一實例可包括:一移動偵測器(諸如機械開關)及一位置指示器(諸如觸控板或觸控螢幕)。藉由組合使用該等不同輸入裝置,可增加可由此兩個輸入裝置控制之操作之數目。此外,當作出命令時,可使用與此兩個不同輸入裝置中之每一者相關聯之益處。此等輸入裝置亦可分層,一者在另一者頂部上,從而進一步減少輸入裝置所用之裝置上的空間量。

位置指示器可經組態以指示平臺上受到使用者之手指或其他裝置作用之位置。位置指示器之實例包括觸控板及觸控螢幕。觸控板或觸控螢幕可直接位於平臺上。

圖1說明一輸入裝置430之簡化透視圖之一實例。在此實例中,輸入裝置430一般經組態以發送資訊或資料至電子裝置以對顯示幕執行一動作(例如,經由圖形使用者介面)。可執行之動作之實例包括移動輸入指標、進行選擇、提供指令等。輸入裝置可經由有線連接(例如,電纜/連接器)或無線連接(例如,IR、藍牙等)與電子裝置相互作用。輸入裝置430可為獨立單元或其可整合至電子裝置中。作為獨立單元,輸入裝置可具有其自身之外殼。當整合至電子裝置中時,輸入裝置通常使用電子裝置之外殼。在任一狀況下,輸入裝置可在結構上(例如)經由螺桿、搭扣、固持器、黏著劑及其類似物耦接至外殼。在一些狀況下,經由(例如)對接站使輸入裝置可移動地耦接至電子裝置。輸入裝置耦接至之電子裝置可對應於任何消費型相關電子產品。作為實例,電子裝置可對應於電腦(諸如,桌上型電腦、膝上型電腦或PDA)、媒體播放機(諸如,音樂播放機)、通信裝置(諸如,蜂巢式電話)、另一輸入裝置(諸如,鍵盤)及其類似物。
如圖1所示,在此實施例中,輸入裝置430可包括一框架432(或支撐結構)及一觸控板434。框架432提供用於支撐輸入裝置之組件的結構。呈外殼形式之框架432亦可封閉或含有輸入裝置之組件。包括觸控板434之該等組件可對應於用於操作輸入裝置430之電學、光學及/或機械組件。
觸控板434提供關於與觸控板接觸或接近觸控板之物件的位置資訊。此資訊可與由移動指示器提供之資訊組合使用以產生與觸控板移動相關聯之單個命令。觸控板可獨立作為輸入裝置;舉例而言,觸控板可用以在裝置上使物件移動或翻轉通過一列項目。
觸控板434可廣泛變化。舉例而言,觸控板434可為基於笛卡爾座標系統(Cartesian coordinate system)之習知觸控板,或觸控板434可為基於極座標系統(Polar coordinate system)之觸控板。基於極座標之觸控板之實例可見於題為"TOUCH PAD FOR HANDHELD DEVICE"之美國專利第7,046,230號,其以引用的方式併入本文中。此外,觸控板434可在至少兩種不同模式下使用,該等模式可稱為相對模式及/或絕對模式。在絕對模式中,觸控板434報告觸位置之絕對座標。舉例而言,此等座標在標準笛卡爾座標系統之狀況下為"X"及"y"座標,或在極座標系統之狀況下為(r,θ)。在相對模式中,觸控板434報告改變之方向及/或距離,例如左/右、上/下及其類似物。在大多數狀況下,藉由觸控板434產生之信號在類似於當手指移過觸控板434之表面時手指的方向的方向上指引顯示幕上之移動。
觸控板434之形狀可廣泛變化。舉例而言,觸控板434可為圓形、橢圓形、正方形、長方形、三角形及其類似物。一般而言,觸控板434之外周邊界定觸控板434之工作邊界。在所說明之實施例中,觸控板為圓形。圓形觸控板允許使用者以自由方式連續旋動手指,亦即,可使手指旋轉一圈360°而不停止。此運動形式可增加或加速翻轉通過顯示在顯示幕上之一列歌曲。此外,使用者可自所有側面沿切線旋轉其手指,因此提供更多手指位置範圍。當執行翻轉功能時,此等特徵均可有用。此外,觸控板434之尺寸一般對應於允許其易於由使用者操縱之尺寸(例如,指尖之尺寸或更大)。

在所說明之實施例中,觸控板434基於電容感應。基於電容之觸控板經配置以偵測當使用者在觸控板周圍移動諸如手指之物件時電容之變化。在大多數狀況下,電容性觸控板包括一保護罩、一或多個電極層、一電路板及相關聯電子儀器,該等電子儀器包括一特殊應用積體電路(ASIC)。保護罩置放於電極上;電極安裝於電路板之頂面上;且ASIC安裝在電路板之底面上。保護罩用以保護下層且提供一表面以允許手指在其上滑動。表面一般為平滑的以使手指在移動時不黏著至表面。保護罩亦在手指與電極層之間提供一絕緣層。電極層包括複數個位於不同位置之電極。可使用任何合適數目之電極。當電極數目增加時,觸控板之解析度亦增加。
電容感應係根據電容原理而作用。如應瞭解,每當兩個導電性部件彼此接近而實際上並未接觸時,其電場相互作用以形成電容。在以上所論述之組態中,第一導電性部件為電極中之一或多者且第二導電性部件為使用者之手指。因此,當手指靠近觸控板時,在手指與非常接近於手指之電極之間形成微小電容。每一電極之電容藉由位於電路板背面之ASIC來量測。藉由偵測每一電極處之電容變化,ASIC可確定手指在移過觸控板時之位置、方向、速度及加速度。ASIC亦可以可由電子裝置使用之形式報告此資訊。
根據一實施例,觸控板434可相對於框架432移動。此移動藉由產生另一控制信號之移動偵測器偵測。作為實例,呈剛性平面平臺形式之觸控板434可相對於框架432旋轉、樞轉、滑動、平移、撓曲及/或其類似移動。可將觸控板434耦接至框架432,及/或可藉由框架432可移動地束縛觸控板434。作為實例,可經由軸、銷子接頭、滑動接頭、球窩(ball and socket)接頭、撓曲接頭、磁體、軟墊及/或其類似物將觸控板434耦接至框架432。觸控板434亦可浮在框架之空間內(例如,平衡)。應注意,輸入裝置430可另外包括接頭組合,諸如樞轉/平移接頭、樞轉/撓曲接頭、樞轉/球窩接頭、平移/撓曲接頭及其類似物以增加移動範圍(例如,增加自由度)。
當移動時,觸控板434經組態以致動移動偵測器電路,該移動偵測器電路產生一或多個信號。電路一般包括一或多個移動偵測器,諸如開關、感應器、編碼器及其類似物。
在所說明之實施例中,觸控板434為可按下平臺之部分。觸控板以按鈕形式操作,且執行一或多個機械性點按動作。裝置之多個功能可藉由在不同位置按下觸控板434來獲得。移動偵測器發信號通知已按下觸控板434,且觸控板434發信號通知已觸摸之平臺上的位置。藉由組合移動偵測器信號及觸控板信號,觸控板434如多個按鈕般起作用,使得在不同位置按下觸控板對應於不同按鈕。如圖2A及圖2B中所示,根據一實施例,當將來自手指438、手掌、手或其他物件之相當大之力施加至觸控板434時,觸控板434能夠在垂直位置(圖2A)與按下位置(圖2B)之間移動。觸控板434通常(例如)經由彈簧部件而彈簧偏置於垂直位置。當彈簧偏置藉由按壓於觸控板434上之物件克服時,觸控板434移至按下位置。
如圖2A所示,當諸如使用者手指之物件在觸控板頂面上在x、y平面內移動時,觸控板434產生追蹤信號。如圖2B所示,在按下位置(z方向)處,觸控板434產生兩個位置資訊且移動指示器產生一指示觸控板434已移動之信號。位置資訊與移動指示組合,形成一按鈕命令。不同按鈕命令可對應於在不同位置處按下觸控板434。不同按鈕命令可用於各種功能,包括(但不限於)進行選擇或發布與操作電子裝置相關聯之命令。作為實例,在音樂播放機之狀況下,按鈕命令可與打開選單、播放歌曲、快進歌曲、遍搜選單及其類似功能相關聯。
詳言之,觸控板434經組態以致動移動偵測器,當觸控板434移至按下位置時,該移動偵測器與觸控板位置資訊一起形成按鈕命令。移動偵測器通常位於框架432內,且可耦接至觸控板434及/或框架432。移動偵測器可為開關與感應器之任何組合。開關一般經組態以提供脈衝或二元資料,諸如啟動(接通)或撤銷啟動(切斷)。作為實例例,當使用者壓在觸控板434上時,觸控板434之下側部分可經組態以接觸或嚙合(且因此啟動)開關。另一方面,感應器一般經組態以提供連續或類比資料。作為實例,當使用者壓在觸控板434上時,感應器可經組態以量測觸控板434相對於框架之位置或傾斜量。可使用任何合適之機械、電學及/或光學開關或感應器。舉例而言,可使用輕觸開關、力感應電阻器、壓力感應器、接近式感應器及其類似物。在一些狀況下,藉由包括彈簧作用之移動偵測器來提供用於將觸控板434置放於垂直位置之彈簧偏置。

計算裝置442亦包括一輸入/輸出(I/O)控制器456,該I/O控制器456可操作地耦接至處理器457。I/O控制器456可與處理器457整合或其可如所示而為獨立組件。I/O控制器456一般經組態以控制與一或多個可耦接至計算裝置442之I/O裝置(例如,輸入裝置440)之相互作用。I/O控制器456一般藉由在計算裝置442與希望與計算裝置442通信之I/O裝置之間交換資料來操作。

在大多數狀況下,處理器457與操作系統一起操作以執行電腦程式碼且產生並使用資料。電腦程式碼及資料可常駐於一程式儲存區域462內,該程式儲存區域462可操作地耦接至處理器457。程式儲存區域462一般提供供保持計算裝置442所使用之資料之場所。作為實例,程式儲存區域可包括唯讀記憶體(ROM)、隨機存取記憶體(RAM)、硬碟機及/或其類似物。電腦程式碼及資料亦可常駐於可移式程式媒體上,且必要時載入或安裝於計算裝置上。在一實施例中,程式儲存區域462經組態以儲存資訊,以控制藉由輸入裝置產生之追蹤及移動信號如何由計算裝置442組合使用來產生單個按鈕命令。
圖4為一輸入裝置470之簡化透視圖。如圖2A及圖2B之實施例中所示之輸入裝置,此輸入裝置470將按鈕功能直接併入觸控板472中,亦即,觸控板如按鈕般起作用。然而,在此實施例中,觸控板472分成複數個獨立且位置不同之按鈕區474。按鈕區474表示可由使用者移動以實施不同按鈕功能之觸控板472之區域。虛線表示組成個別按鈕區之觸控板472之區域。可使用任何數目之按鈕區,例如兩個或兩個以上、四個、八個等。在所說明之實施例中,觸控板472包括四個按鈕區474(亦即,區A至D)。
如應瞭解,藉由壓在各按鈕區上所產生之按鈕功能可包括選擇螢幕上項目、打開檔案或文件、執行指令、開始程式、查看選單及/或其類似物。按鈕功能亦可包括使經由電子系統操縱更容易之功能,例如,變焦、翻轉、打開不同選單、使輸入指標回復原位、執行鍵盤相關動作(諸如進入、刪除、插入、上頁/下頁)及其類似物。在音樂播放機之狀況下,按鈕區中之一者可用以存取顯示幕上之菜單;第二按鈕區可用以向前遍搜一列歌曲或向前快進當前播放之歌曲;第三按鈕區可用以向後遍搜一列歌曲或向後快退當前播放之歌曲;且第四按鈕區可用以暫停或停止正播放之歌曲。
詳言之,觸控板472能夠相對於框架476移動以便產生點按動作。框架476可由單個組件形成或可為經組裝組件之組合。點按動作致動含於框架476內之移動偵測器。移動偵測器經組態以感應按鈕區在點按動作期間之移動,且發送對應於移動之信號至電子裝置。作為實例,移動偵測器可為開關、感應器及/或其類似物。
此外,觸控板472經組態以發送關於當點按動作發生時哪一按鈕區受到作用之位置資訊。位置資訊允許裝置確定當觸控板相對於框架移動時哪一按鈕區正啟動。
各按鈕區474之移動可藉由各種旋轉、樞轉、平移、撓曲及其類似移動來提供。在一實施例中,觸控板472經組態以相對於框架476平衡。平衡一般意謂觸控板472能夠相對於框架476浮在空中,但仍束縛於框架476。平衡可允許觸控板472相對於外殼以單或多自由度(DOF)移動,例如在x、y及/或z方向上移動及/或繞x、y及/或z軸(θ x θ y θ z )旋轉。
圖5A至圖5C展示一輸入裝置600之一特定實施例。輸入裝置600包括一觸控板605,該觸控板605安裝於一平衡板604上。平衡板固持於具有頂板602之外殼中之空間601內。平衡板604位於單個可撓性部件608之頂部。
藉由平衡板604之移動來啟動一或多個移動偵測器。舉例而言,一或多個移動偵測器可位於平衡板604周圍或其上,且可藉由平衡板604之傾斜或其他所需移動來啟動。可撓性部件608可為移動偵測器之部分,例如SMT圓頂開關上之圓頂。
可撓性部件608可以泡狀形成,其提供彈簧力,推動平衡板與框架602之頂壁配合嚙合且遠離支撐表面610。突出部606自平衡板606之側面突出且在頂板602下延伸。
允許平衡板浮在切口601內。空間601之形狀一般與平衡板604之形狀一致。因而該單元實質上經由頂板602之側壁603沿x及y軸且經由頂板602與平衡板604上之突出部606之嚙合沿z軸而束縛。因此,平衡板604能夠在空間601內移動,但仍經由頂板602之壁而防止其自空間601完全移出。
參看圖5B及圖5C,根據一實施例,使用者在所需按鈕功能之位置處壓在平衡板604上。如圖5B所示,若使用者壓在平衡板604之側面上,則平衡板傾斜。突出部606及支撐表面610限制平衡板之傾斜量。平衡板可以圍繞平衡板360°模式繞一軸線傾斜。一或多個移動偵測器可經定位以監測平衡板之移動。
圖5C展示若使用者向下壓在平衡板604之中心,則平衡板向下移至外殼中而不傾斜。然而,平衡板仍藉由頂板602之壁束縛在外殼內。
安裝在平衡板604上之觸控板605當按壓平衡板604時提供使用者手指之位置。此位置資訊由裝置用以確定哪一按鈕功能為使用者所需。舉例而言,介面可如圖4所示分成不同按鈕區。在此情況下,啟動監測平衡板604之移動之單個移動偵測器可用以提供數個按鈕命令。舉例而言,藉由平衡板604上之觸控板605產生之第一信號可產生指示使用者手指在平衡板上之位置的第一信號。接著可使用諸如圓頂開關之移動偵測器來產生指示平衡板已移動(例如,被按下)之第二信號。
包括平衡板及觸控板之輸入裝置可為如圖3所示之計算系統439之部分。通信介面454可將分別由觸控板及移動偵測器提供之第一及第二信號提供至包括處理器454之計算裝置442。接著處理器可確定哪一指令與第一及第二信號之組合相關聯。以此方式,藉由在不同位置壓在觸控板上來啟動移動偵測器可對應於不同動作,且單個移動偵測器可用以提供位於平衡板604周圍之多個按鈕之功能。
藉由使用如圖5A至圖5C中組態之觸控板及平衡板,多個按鈕功能可藉由單個移動偵測器獲取。此可用以產生一裝置,該裝置與使用不同移動偵測器來產生各按鈕命令之裝置相比具有較少零件。
僅具有單個位於平衡板下之移動偵測器亦改良輸入裝置之觸覺感覺。裝置之使用者將感覺到在使用者按壓之平衡板之任何部分上的僅單次點按。在平衡板下具有多個機械開關型移動偵測器可導致"嗄吱"型感覺,其中使用者在其向下壓在平衡板上時感覺到多次連續點按。
圖6A至圖6C展示一使用兩個圓頂開關之輸入裝置620之一實施例的側面橫截面。一圓頂開關622係藉由使用者壓在點按輪624周圍之任一處來啟動,且第二圓頂開關626藉由壓下中心按鈕628來啟動。
圖6A至圖6C展示圓形點按輪624之橫截面,該圓形點按輪624環繞位於點按輪中心之中心按鈕628。點按輪624包括一觸控板625。點按輪624經組態以相對於框架630平衡,以提供在點按輪624上任一位置處之點按動作。
點按輪624束縛在提供於框架630中之空間632內。點按輪624能夠在空間632內移動,但仍經由框架630之壁而防止其自空間632完全移出。空間632之形狀一般與點按輪624之形狀一致。因而該單元實質上經由框架630之側壁634沿x及y軸且經由框架630之頂壁636及底壁640沿z軸來束縛。小間隙可提供於側壁與平臺之間,以允許觸控板繞其軸線360°平衡而無阻礙(例如,少量遊動)。在一些狀況下,平臺可包括沿x及y軸延伸之突出部以防止繞z軸旋轉。
中心按鈕628位於點按輪624中之空間642內。中心按鈕628經由點按輪624之側壁644沿x及y軸且藉由點按輪624之突出部646及藉由底壁640沿z軸束縛在空間642內,當壓下中心按鈕時,底壁640接觸中心按鈕628之腿部647。
位於中心按鈕628下面的為圓頂開關622及626。兩個圓頂開關為中心按鈕628及點按輪624提供機械彈簧作用。剛性板648位於兩個圓頂開關之間。剛性板648延伸通過腿部647中之孔洞且在點按輪624之下延伸。以此方式,剛性板將圓頂開關622及626之彈簧力傳遞至點按輪624,且剛性板將由使用者供應至點按輪624之任何力傳遞至圓頂開關622。
圖6B展示當使用者壓下點按輪624時如何僅啟動點按輪圓頂開關622。當使用者按在點按輪624上任一處時,點按輪在區域632中平衡,且使用者下壓之力藉由剛性板648及底壁640傳遞至倒置圓頂開關622。底壁640可包括一結塊650,該結塊650用於將點按之力傳遞至圓頂開關622之中心。中心按鈕圓頂開關626未致動,此係因為其與點按輪624一起樞轉。中心按鈕628與其下方之搭扣圓頂之間的間隙在其與輪一起樞轉時保持恆定。
圖6C展示當按下中心按鈕628時如何僅啟動中心圓頂閉關。中心按鈕628之支腳647防止按鈕628超出上圓頂626之行程。為確保僅致動上圓頂626,下圓頂622之致動力高於頂部圓頂626之致動力。按鈕628可包括一結塊652,該結塊652用於將點按之力傳遞至圓頂開關626之中心。
如關於圖5A至圖5C所述之組態,來自形成點按輪624之部分之觸控板625的信號與來自點按圓頂開關622之啟動之信號組合使用,以模擬安裝在點按輪624周圍不同區域之數個按鈕。然而,此組態允許使用單獨的中心按鈕。此在僅感應角位置之觸控板用於點按輪624時尤其有用。當僅量測角位置時,不可模擬中心按鈕,此係因為未量測使用者手指相對於點按輪624中心之位置。
雖然未圖示,但在一些狀況下,觸控板可背部照亮。舉例而言,電路板可在任一側面上提供有發光二極體(LED)以指定按鈕區、提供額外反饋及其類似功能。
如先前所提及,本文所述之輸入裝置可整合至電子裝置中,或其可為獨立裝置。圖7及圖8展示一整合至電子裝置中之輸入裝置700之一些實施例。在圖7中,輸入裝置700併入媒體播放機702中。在圖8中,輸入裝置700併入膝上型電腦704中。另一方面,圖9及圖10展示輸入裝置700作為獨立單元之一些實施例。在圖9中,輸入裝置700為連接至桌上型電腦706之周邊裝置。在圖10中,輸入裝置700為一遠端控制器,其無線連接至一對接站708,該對接站708中對接有一媒體播放機710。然而,應注意,遠端控制器亦可經組態以與媒體播放機(或其他電子裝置)直接相互作用,藉此消除對對接站之需要。媒體播放機之對接站之一實例可見於2003年4月25日申請之題為"MEDIA PLAYER SYSTEM"之美國專利申請案第10/423,490號,其以引用的方式併入本文中。應注意,此等特定實施例並非限制,且可使用多種其他裝置及組態。
返回參考圖7,將更詳細論述媒體播放機702。術語"媒體播放機"一般係指可專用於處理諸如音訊、視訊或其他影像之媒體之計算裝置,例如,音樂播放機、遊戲播放機、視訊播放機、錄影機、相機及其類似物。在一些狀況下,媒體播放機含有單個功能(例如,專用於播放音樂之媒體播放機),且在其他狀況下,媒體播放機含有多個功能(例如,播放音樂、顯示視訊、儲存圖片及其類似功能之媒體播放機)。在任一狀況下,此等裝置一般均為攜帶型以便無論使用者去何處均允許使用者收聽音樂、玩遊戲或播放視訊、記錄視訊或照相。
在一實施例中,媒體播放機為一尺寸適於置放至使用者口袋內之手持式裝置。藉由設定為口袋尺寸,使用者不必直接攜帶裝置,且因此裝置可帶至使用者行走之幾乎任何地方(例如,使用者不會因攜帶如膝上型或筆記型電腦之寬大、龐大且常常笨重之裝置而受限制)。舉例而言,在音樂播放機之狀況下,使用者可在健身房鍛煉時使用裝置。在相機之狀況下,使用者可在爬山時使用裝置。在遊戲播放機之狀況下,使用者可在乘車旅行時使用裝置。此外,裝置可由使用者之手來操作。不需要參考表面,諸如桌面。在所說明之實施例中,媒體播放機702為一袖珍手持式MP3音樂播放機,其允許使用者儲存大量音樂(例如,在一些狀況下多達4,000首CD品質之歌曲)。作為實例,MP3音樂播放機可對應於由Apple Computer公司(Cupertino,Calif)製造之iPod牌MP3播放機。雖然主要用於儲存及播放音樂,但本文所示之MP3音樂播放機亦可包括額外功能,諸如儲存日曆及電話清單、儲存及玩遊戲、儲存照片及其類似物。事實上,在一些狀況下,其可充當高度便攜式儲存裝置。
如圖7所示,媒體播放機702包括一外殼722,該外殼722將各種電力組件(包括積體電路晶片及其他電路)封閉在內部以提供媒體播放機702之計算操作。此外,外殼722亦可界定媒體播放機702之形狀或形式。亦即,外殼722之外形可體現媒體播放機702之外部體態。外殼722內所含之積體電路晶片及其他電路可包括一微處理器(例如,CPU)、記憶體(例如,ROM、RAM)、一電源(例如,電池)、一電路板、一硬碟機、其他記憶體(例如,快閃記憶體)及/或各種輸入/輸出(I/O)支援電路。電力組件亦可包括用於輸入或輸出音樂或聲音之組件,諸如麥克風、放大器及數位信號處理器(DSP)。電力組件亦可包括用於捕獲影像之組件,諸如影像感應器(例如,電荷耦合裝置(CCD)或互補金屬氧化物半導體(CMOS))或光學裝置(例如,透鏡、分光器、過濾器)。
在所說明之實施例中,媒體播放機702包括一硬碟機,藉此給予媒體播放機巨大儲存容量。例如,20 GB硬碟機可儲存多達4000首歌曲或約266小時之音樂。相比之下,基於快閃之媒體播放機平均儲存至多128 MB或約兩小時之音樂。硬碟機容量可廣泛變化(例如,5、10、20 GB等)。除硬碟機外,本文所示之媒體播放機702亦包括一電池,諸如可再充電之鋰聚合物電池。此等類型電池能夠提供媒體播放機約10小時之連續播放時間。
媒體播放機702亦包括一顯示幕724及相關電路。顯示幕724用以向使用者顯示圖形使用者介面以及其他資訊(例如,文字、物件、圖形)。作為實例,顯示幕724可為液晶顯示器(LCD)。在一特定實施例中,顯示幕對應於160×128像素高解析度顯示器,該顯示器具有白色LED背光以在日光以及低照明條件下產生清晰能見度。如所示,經由外殼722中之開口725且經由安置在開口725前方之透明壁726,顯示幕724為媒體播放機702之使用者可見。雖然透明,但可認為透明壁726為外殼722之部分,因為其有助於界定媒體播放機702之形狀或形式。
媒體播放機702亦包括觸控板700,諸如先前所述之彼等觸控板中之任一者。觸控板700一般由一可觸外表面731組成,該可觸外表面731用於接收在觸控板730上操作之手指。雖然在圖7中未展示,但在可觸外表面731之下為一感應器配置。感應器配置包括複數個感應器,該等感應器可經組態以在手指擱置在其上、在其上輕敲或越過其時啟動。在最簡單之狀況下,每當手指在感應器上定位時,均產生電信號。給定時段內之信號數目可指示手指在觸控板上之位置、方向、速度及加速度,亦即,信號愈多,使用者移動其手指愈多。在大多數狀況下,藉由一電子介面來監測信號,該電子介面將信號之數目、組合及頻率轉化成位置、方向、速度及加速度資訊。接著此資訊可由媒體播放機702用以執行顯示幕724上之所需控制功能。舉例而言,使用者可藉由在觸控板700周圍旋動手指而容易地翻轉通過一列歌曲。
除以上外,觸控板亦可包括一或多個可移動按鈕區A至D以及一中心按鈕E。按鈕區經組態以提供一或多個專用控制功能以進行選擇或發布與操作媒體播放機702相關聯之指令。舉例而言,在MP3音樂播放器之狀況下,按鈕功能可與打開選單、播放歌曲、快進歌曲、遍搜選單、進行選擇及其類似功能相關聯。在大多數狀況下,按鈕功能經由一機械點按動作來實施。
觸控板700相對於外殼722之位置可廣泛變化。舉例而言,觸控板700可置放在使用者在操作媒體播放機702期間可達到之外殼722之任何外表面處(例如,頂部、側面、前部或後部)。在大多數狀況下,觸控板700之觸摸敏感表面731完全暴露至使用者。在圖7所說明之實施例中,觸控板700位於外殼722之下前區。此外,觸控板700可凹進外殼表面下、與其相齊或延伸在其上方。在圖7所說明之實施例中,觸控板700之觸摸敏感表面731實質上與外殼722之外表面齊平。
觸控板700之形狀亦可廣泛變化。雖然展示為圓形,但觸控板亦可為正方形、長方形、三角形及其類似形狀。更特定言之,觸控板為環形,亦即形狀類似環或形成環。因而,觸控板之內及外周邊界定觸控板之工作邊界。
媒體播放機702亦可包括一保持開關734。保持開關734經組態以啟動或撤銷啟動觸控板及/或與其相關聯之按鈕。一般進行此操作以防止藉由觸控板及/或按鈕發出不需要之命令,例如在媒體播放機儲存在使用者口袋內時。當撤銷啟動時,來自按鈕及/或觸控板之信號不會發送或不會由媒體播放機處理。當啟動時,來自按鈕及/或觸控板之信號經發送且因此由媒體播放機接收並處理。

資料埠738可廣泛變化。舉例而言,資料埠可為PS/2埠、串列埠、並列埠、USB埠、火線埠(Firewire port)及/或其類似物。在一些狀況下,資料埠738可為射頻(RF)鏈路或光學紅外(IR)鏈路以消除對電纜之需要。雖然圖7中未展示,但媒體播放機702亦可包括一電源埠,該電源埠收納經組態以傳遞功率至媒體播放機702之電源連接器/電纜總成。在一些狀況下,資料埠738既可充當資料埠亦可充當電源埠。在所說明之實施例中,資料埠738為兼具資料及電源能力之火線埠。

Claims (31)

  1. 一種用於多輸入的裝置,其包含:一板,一觸控面板,一按鈕,其包含一頂部分及一底部分,一第一開關,其位於該按鈕下且在該板及該按鈕的該頂部分之間,一第二開關,其位於該按鈕的該頂部分下,該觸控面板被安置於該板上且環繞該按鈕,該按鈕的該底部分經組態而延伸經過該板,其中與該等開關的致動之一軸同方向之施加於該觸控面板的力僅致動該第二開關,且與該等開關的致動之一軸同方向之施加於該頂部分的力僅致動該第一開關,其中該板及該按鈕在其對應的致動期間,係沿著該致動之軸彼此獨立地移動,且其中該按鈕的該底部分之一表面移動與在該板之該第一開關及該第二開關側之上的一框架接觸,以使該按鈕之致動移動被終止。
  2. 如請求項1之裝置,其中與該觸控面板相關聯的信號及與該第二開關相關聯的信號係結合使用以模擬與該觸控面板的獨立區域相關聯之按鈕。

  11. 如請求項10之裝置,其中該第一開關位於該板之上並包含提供一行程量之一圓頂部分,該按鈕之該底部分經組態以避免該按鈕超出該圓頂部分所提供的該行程量。
  12. 如請求項10之裝置,其進一步包含一處理器,其經組態以接收由該觸控面板產生的一第一信號,其指示在該觸控面板上的一輸入之一位置,接收由該第二開關產生的一第二信號,其指示該觸控面板已被移動,產生一指令,其回應於該第一信號與該第二信號。
