Description
Invenția de față se referă la un complex metalic de monociclopentadienil sau monociclopentadienil substituit, la un procedeu de obținere a acestuia,precum și la un procedeu de polimerizare folosind acest complex.
Această invenție se referă la compoziții de materiale care sunt folosibile drept catalizatori, la o metodă pentru prepararea acestor catalizatori și la o metodă de utilizare a acestor catalizatori pentru polimeri zarea prin adiție a monomerilor polimerizabili.
Se cunosc diferiți complecși metalici cu bis-(ciclopentadienil), care se obțin prin reacția complexului metalic 6is-(ciclopentadienil) cu săruri ale acizilor Bronsted, conținând anioni compatibil necoordinativ (Brevet EP 277004). Se evidențiază faptul că acești complecși se pot utiliza cu succes drept catalizator în polimerizarea olefinelor.
Cu toată utilizarea catalizatorilor indicați este de dorit a se produce catalizatori încă mai eficienți în utilizarea polimerilor de adiție. Investigațiile prezentate au condus, în special, la anumiți complecși metalici îmbunătățiți, conținând compuși cu activitate ridicată drept catalizatori de polimerizare și care permit polimerizarea, după dorință, a unei mari varietăți de monomeri și amestecuri de monomeri.
în conformitate cu prezenta invenție, se propune acum un complex metalic de monociclopentadienil substituit conținând compusul ce corespunde formulei I: CpMXn f A‘, (I) în care: Cp este un simplu grup η5 - ciclopentadienil sau un η5 - ciclopentadienil substituit, legat opțional covalent de M printr-un substituient; M este metal din grupa 3-10 sau din seria Lantanidelor din Sistemul periodic legat printr-un sistem de legătură η5 de ciclopentadienil sau grupul ciclopentadienil substituit; X, în orice împrejurare, este hidrură sau o grupă aleasă dintre halo, alchil, arii, silii, germil, ariloxi, alcoxi, amido, siloxi și combinații ale acestora, de exemplu, haloalchil, haloaril, halosilil, alcaril, aralchil, amidoaril etc., având până la 20 atomi în afară de hidrogen și liganzi neutrali bază Lewis, având până la 20 atomi în afară de hidrogen atomi sau opțional un X împreună cu Cp formează un metalociclu cu Μ; n este 1 sau 2 în funcție de valența lui M; și A' este un anion compatibil necoordinativ a unei sări de acid Bronsted.

Compușii prezentei invenții pot fi preparați prin combinarea:
a) cel puțin un prim component este un derivat (ciclopentadienil) al unui metal din grupele 3-10 sau din seria Lantanidelor din Sistemul periodic al elementelor conținând cel puțin un substituent, care se va combina cu cationul unui al doilea component (descris aici mai jos), prim component care este capabil să formeze un cation având un număr de coordinare cu o unitate mai mică decât valența sa;
b) și cel puțin un al doilea component, care este o sare a acidului Bronsted și un anion compatibil necoordinativ într-un solvent inert, aprotic și recuperând, dacă se dorește, produsul rezultat.
Mai special, anionul compatibil necoordinativ al sării acidului Bronsted poate conține un simplu complex de coordinare cuprinzând un nucleu de metal sau metaloid purtător de sarcină, anion care este atât distributiv, cât și non-nucleofilic. Denumirea de metaloid, așa cum este folosită aici, include nemetale, cum este borul, fosforul și altele asemănătoare, care prezintă proprietăți semi-metalice.
Toate referințele la Sistemul periodic al elementelor se vor referi la Sistemul periodic al elemetelor publicat și editat de CRC Press, Inc., 1989. De asemenea, orice referire la o grupă sau grupe are în vedere grupa sau grupele așa cum sunt ele prezentate în acest Sistem periodic al elementelor utilizând sistemul IUPAC pentru numerotarea grupelor.
Așa cum este folosită aici, prin denumirea anion compatibil necoordinativ se înțelege un anion care fie nu coordinează la grupul monociclopentadienil sau monociclopentadienil substituit conținând cation, fie care este doar slab coordinat la numitul cation, rămânând astfel suficient de labil pentru a fi dislocuit de o bază neutră Lewis. Anionul compatibil necoordinativ se referă în mod specific la un anion compatibil, care, funcționând ca un anion de echilibrare a sarcinei în sistemul catalitic al acestei invenții nu transferă un substituent anionic sau un fragment al acestuia la numitul cation, formând astfel o metalocenă neutră cu patru coordinații și un subprodus metalic neutru. Exemplele ilustrative, dar nu limitative, ale componenților metal monociclopentadienil (prim component), care pot fi utilizați în prepararea compușilor ce fac obiectul acestei invenții, sunt derivați ai titanului, zirconiului, hafniului, cromului, lantanului etc. Componenții preferați sunt compuși ai titanului sau zirconiului.

Ultimii compuși enumerați din lista de mai sus sunt ilustrativi în ceea ce privește compușii conținând legături covalente între atomul de metal și substituenții inelului ciclopentadienil. Substituenții preferați sunt cei capabili de legături σ la atomul de metal. Asemenea componenți se prepară ușor prin combinarea clorurii metalice corespunzătoare cu o sare de litiu a grupei ciclopentadienil substituite, cum ese ciclopentadienil-alcandiil, ciclopentadienil-silan amidă sau ciclopentadienil-fosfură. Compușii utilizați ca al doilea component la prepararea compușilor prezentei invenții vor cuprinde un cation, care este un acid Bronsted capabil să doneze un proton și un anion compatibil necoordinativ. Trebuie notat că lista de mai sus nu are intenția de a fi exhaustivă, astfel încât pot fi utilizați și alți compuși cu bor, precum și compuși conținând alte metale sau metaloizi, ce ar corespunde exemplelor și formulei generale de mai sus.

Bronsted puternici și astfel nu sunt adecvați ca prim component la formarea catalizatorilor ce fac obiectul acestei invenții cu toți compușii ce reprezintă al doilea component. Compușii cei mai preferați monociclopentadienil metalici sunt cei care pot fi hidrolizați în soluții apoase.
în ceea ce privește combinarea primului component (conținând metal) cu al doilea component, pentru a forma catalizatorul ce face obiectul acestei invenții, trebuie avut în vedere ca cei doi componenți ce sunt combinați în vederea preparării catalizatorului activ să fie astfel selectați încât să se evite transferul unui fragment de anion, în special o grupă arii sau un atom de fluor sau hidrogen către cationul metalic, formându-se astfel specii catalitic inactive. Aceasta poate fi realizată printr-un obstacol steric, rezultând din substituirile atomilor de carbon ai ciclolopentadienilului, precum și din substituirile atomilor de carbon aromatici ai anionului. Rezultă că primii componenți conținând radicali ciclopentadienili per hidrocarbură substituiți pot fi efectiv utilizați pentru o gamă de compuși reprezentând cel de-al doilea component, mai largă decât în cazul în care primii componenți conțin radicali ciclopentadienili nesubstituiți. Chiar dacă numărul și dimensiunea substituenților la radicalii ciclopentadienil sunt reduse, totuși, se obțin catalizatori mai eficienți cu cel de-al doilea component conținând anioni care sunt mai rezistenți la degradare, cum sunt cei cu substituenți în pozițiile orto- ale ciclurilor fenil. Un alt mijloc de a face anionul mai rezistent la degradare se obține prin substituția fluorului, în special prin substituție perfluoro, în anion. Anionii stabilizați prin fluoro-substituție pot fi apoi utilizați pentru o gamă mai largă de compuși reprezentând primul component.
în general, catalizatorul poate fi preparat prin combinarea celor doi componenți într-un solvent adecvat, la o temperatură cuprinsă între aproximativ -100 și aproximativ 300°C. Catalizatorul poate fi utilizat pentru polimerizarea α-olefinelor și/sau a momomerilor nesaturați acetilenici având de la 2 până la aproximativ 18 atomi de carbon și/sau diolefine având de la 4 pînă la aproximativ 18 atomi de carbon, fie singuri, fie în combinație. Catalizatorul poate fi, de asemenea, utilizat pentru polimerizarea olefînelor, diolefinelor și/sau a monomerilor acetilenici nesaturați în combinație cu alți monomeri nesaturați, într-o realizare preferabilă catalizatorii se utilizează pentru a obține copolimeri ai amestecurilor de monomeri vinii aromatici cu olefine, altele decât monomerul aromatic vinii, în special copolimeri de stiren cu etilenă sau propilenâ. în general, polimerizarea se poate desfășură în condițiile bine cunoscute în cazurile precedente. Se apreciază desigur că sistemul catalitic se va forma in si tu, dacă· cortiponenții acestuia se adaugă direct în procesul de polimerizare și se utilizează un solvent sau diluent adecvat, inclusiv monomerul condensat, în numitul proces de polimerizare. Este totuși preferabil de a prepara catalizatorul într-o fază separată, într-un solvent adecvat înainte de a fi adăugat în faza de polimerizare. Cu toate că catalizatorii ar putea să nu conțină specii piroforice, componenții catalizatorului sunt sensibili atât la umiditate, cât și la oxigen și trebuie manipulați și transferați într-o atmosferă inertă, cum ar fi azotul, argonul sau heliu.
Așa cum s-a indicat mai sus, catalizatorul îmbunătățit din prezenta invenție va fi preparat, preferabil, într-un solvent inert, aprotic sau diluent. Solvenții sau diluenții adecvați pot fi oricare dintre solvenții cunoscuți anterior ca fiind utilizabili în polimerizarea monomerilor nesaturați olefinici, diolefinici și acetilenici. Solvenții adecvați includ, fără a fi însă necesară limitarea lor, hidrocarburi normale și ramificate, precum izobutan, butan, pentan, hexan, heptan, octan și altele asemănătoare; hidrocarburi ciclice și aciclice, ca, ciclohexan, cicloheptan, metilciclohexan, metilcicloheptan și altele asemănătoare, precum și compuși aromatici și aromatici alchil substituiți, ca, benzen, toluen, xilen și alții asemănători. Solvenții adecvați includ, de asemenea, olefine lichide care pot acționa ca monomeri sau comonomeri, inclusiv etilenă, propilenă, butadienă, ciclopentenă, l-hexan,
3-metil-l-pentenă, 4-metil -1-pentenă, 1,4 -hexadienă, 1-octenă, 1-decenă, stiren și altele asemănătoare.
Se presupune că atunci când cei doi componenți utilizați în prepararea catalizatorilor îmbunătățiți ce fac obiectul prezentei invenții se combină într-un solvent sau diluent adecvat, totul sau o parte din cationul celui de-al doilea component (protonul de acid) se combină cu unul dintre substituenții (X) ai primului component. Drept rezultat, se eliberează un compus neutru XH, care compus neutral fie rămâne în soluție, fie este eliberat sub formă de gaz. în această privință trebuie notat că dacă X în primul component este o hidrură, gazul eliberat poate fi hidrogenul. în mod similar, dacă X este un radical metil, drept gaz poate fi eliberat metanul. Dacă X este un alcoxid, rezultă un alcool etc.
Fără a avea dorința de a fi legat de o anumită teorie, se crede, de asemenea, că atunci când unul din substituenții primului component este eliberat, anionul necoordinativ conținut inițial în cel de-al doilea component folosit în prepararea catalizatorului echilibrează sarcina fie a cationului metalic format din primul component sau a produsului de descompunere al acestuia. Cationul metalic și anionul necoordinativ vor rămâne astfel combinați până când catalizatorul este contactat cu unul sau mai mulți monomeri nesaturați olefinici, diolefinici și/sau acetilenici, fie singur, fie în combinație cu unul sau mai mulți alți

în general, stabilitatea și viteza de formare a produselor în ecuațiile de mai sus, in special cationul metalic variază în funcție de alegerea solventului, aciditatea [L-H]+ selectat, în special de L, de anion, de temperatura la care’ reacția are loc și, în special, de derivatul monociclopentadienil metalic selectat. în general, perechea de ioni formată inițial va fi un catalizator de polimerizare activ și va duce la polimerizarea monomerilor nesaturați α-olefinici, diolefinici și acetilenici, fie singuri, fie în combinație cu alți monomeri. în unele cazuri, totuși, cationul metalic inițial se va descompune, pentru a forma un catalizator de polimerizare activ.
Așa cum s-a indicat mai sus, cea mai mare parte dintre compușii ce reprezintă primul component se combină cu majoritatea compușilor ce reprezintă al doilea component pentru a produce un catalizator activ, respectiv un catalizator de polimerizare activ. Speciile de catalizator activ actuale nu sunt, totuși întotdeauna suficient de stabile, pentru a permite separarea lor și identificarea ulterioară. Mai mult, deși mulți dintre cationii metalici inițial for monomeri sau alte baze Lewis neutre. Așa cum s-a indicat mai sus, anionul conținut în cel de-al doilea component trebuie să fie suficient de labil pentru a permite o dislocuire rapidă de către un monomer, facilitând astfel polimerizarea.
Reacțiile chimice care au loc la formarea catalizatorilor acestei invenții, atunci când drept al doilea component se folosește un compus conținând bor, de preferință, pot fi reprezentate, referindu-ne la formula generală indicată mai jos, după cum urmează:

în general, catalizatorii ce fac obiectul prezentei invenții pot fi astfel selectați, încât să producă produse de polimerizare care să fie libere de eventuale urme de metale ce se găsesc în polimerii produși cu catalizatori de tip Ziegler-Natta conținând cocatalizatori, cum sunt compușii pe bază de aluminiu sau magneziu. Produsele de polimerizare produse cu catalizatorul ce face obiectul acestei invenții trebuie să aibă un domeniu de aplicație mai larg decât polimerii produși cu catalizatori mai convenționali de tip Ziegler-Natta conținând un alchil metalic, cum este alchil aluminiu sau un aluminoxan. Catalizatorii pot fi utilizați drept catalizatori omogeni sau depuși pe suprafața unui suport adecvat, cum este alumina sau silice.
într-o realizare preferențială a prezentei invenții Cp este pentametilciclopentadienă, M este titan sau zirconiu, n este doi, X este C,.4 alchil sau alcoxi și A este tetrachispentafluorofenil borat.
într-o altă realizare preferențială, catali
ÎS zatorul este utilizat la polimerizarea uneia sau mai multora α-olefine Cj-C,, in special etilena sau propilenă, preferabil etilena, la o temperatură în domeniul de la 0 până la 200°C, preferabil 25 până la 100°C și la o presiune în domeniul de la presiune atmosferică până la 7 MPa (1000 psig), preferabil 15 până la (500 psig) 0,1....3,5 MPa. în cea mai preferată realizare a acestei invenții, catalizatorul este utilizat fie pentru homopolimerizare a etilenei, fie pentru polimerizarea etilenei cu α-olefine C5-C8 (inclusiv stirenul), rezultând astfel un copolimer. în ambele aplicații, atât cea preferată, cât și cea mai preferată, monomerii vor fi menținuți în condițiile de polimerizare un timp de staționare nominal în intervalul de la 1 la 60 min., iar catalizatorul va fi utilizat într-o concentrație de la aproximativ 10'7 până la aproximativ 10'1 moli per mol de monomer.
Invenția prezintă avantajul obținerii unor catalizatori cu activitate ridicată ce se utilizează la polimerizarea unei mari varietăți de monomeri sau amestecuri de monomeri.
Se dau în continuare exemple de realizare a invenției, dar nefiind limitative.
Exemplul 1. Pentametilciclopentadieniltitan izopropoxid dimetil și trietilamoniu tetrachis-pentafluorofenilborat.
într-o cutie uscată, la temperatura camerei, s-au combinat 33 mg de pentametilciclopentadieniltitan izopropoxid dimetil [CpTi(O-iPr)Me,J (0,12mmoli) cu 1 ml benzen, iar soluția rezultată a fost pipetată într-un balon de 250 ml cu trei gâturi. La acesta s-au atașat un dop, un adaptor pentru linia de vacuum și o pâlnie de introducere a solidului. Pâlnia de introducere a fost încărcată cu 80 mg (0,10 mmoli) trietilamoniu tetrachis-pentafluorofenilborat {[HNEt3]+ [B (C6F5) J’}. Pâlnia de introducere s-a astupat cu un dop și aparatul a fost conectat la linia de vacuum. Benzenul a fost îndepărtat din balon sub vacuum, iar 75 ml de benzen proaspăt a fost distilat în balon la 78°C sub vacuum. După încălzire la temperatura camerei, soluția a fost pusă sub pernă de etilena la 1 at(0,lMpa). Solidul {[ΗΝΕί,ΠΒ^^ΗΙΤ a fost adăugat la temperatura camerei și s-a observat că soluția virează în galben. După 20 min. soluția a devenit neagră și s-a observat un precipitat de polietilenă. După o oră, polimerul a fost precipitat cu metanol, colectat, spălat cu metanol și uscat în vacuum peste noapte, obținându-se 0,49 g de polimer.
Exemplul 2. Pentametilciclopentadieniltitan trimetil și trietilamoniu tetrachis-pentafluorofenilborat
Condițiile de reacție din exemplul 1 au fost repetate utilizând pentametilciclopentadieniltitan trimetil și trietilamoniu tetrachis-pentafluorofenilborat. Reacția a fost condusă în toluen, la temperatura camerei, timp de aproximativ 10 h. S-au observat ca subproduse metan și amoniac gazos. După încălzire la circa 45°C timp de o oră, solventul toluen a fost îndepărtat sub vacuum, rămânând un solid de culoare neagră. Solidul a fost spălat de trei ori cu eter de petrol și uscat sub presiune redusă. Produsul recuperat a fost identificat ca fiind produsul dorit -pentametilciclopcntadieniltitan dimetil tetrachis-pentafluorofenilborat, care poate fi utilizat la polimerizarea olefinelor în condițiile de polimerizare cunoscute Ziegler-Natta.
Exemplul 3. (Terpbutilamido) dimetil (tetram etil- η 5-ciclopentadienil) silantitandimetil și trietilamoniu tetrachis-pentaflu106411 orofenilborat.
Un balon de 25 ml a fost încărcat cu 275 mg de (terț-butilamido)(dimetil) (η5tetrametilciclopentadienil) silantitan diclorură (0,75 mmoli) și atașat la o mică frită. Frita a fost evacuată și 15 ml de dietileter s-a transferat sub vacuum în balon. La -78°C s-au adăugat 1,1 ml de MeLi (1,4 în hexan, 1,54 mmoli, 2,05 echiv.) printr-un ventil al stufului lateral, utilizând o seringă. Nu s-a observat o schimbare a culorii. După 5 min, baia a fost îndepărtată, iar soluției i s-a permis să ajungă la temperatura camerei. După o oră, soluția era verde-închis și opacă. Dietileterul a fost stripat și înlocuit cu 10 ml de hexan. Soluția a fost agitată la 25°C, timp de 10 min, și apoi filtrată. Solidul a fost redus la aproximativ 2 ml, soluția răcită la -78°C, iar frita adusă la rece, pentru a colecta solidul de culoare măslinie-închisă. După uscare la presiune redusă timp de 30 min, solidul (terț-butilamido) dimetil (tetrametil-η 5-ciclopentadienil) silantitan dimetil a fost izolat (138 mg, 56%).
Polimerizarea
Un balon de 100 ml cu trei gâturi s-a încărcat cu 32 mg (98 moli) de (ter/-butilamido) dimetil (tetrametil- qs -ciclopentadienil) silantitan dimetil. Balonul a fost echipat cu un dop, adaptor pentru linia de vacuum și o pâlnie de încărcare a solidului. Pâlnia de introducere a fost încărcată cu 77 mg de [HN(C2H5)Jf (B^J și astupată cu un dop. Balonul a fost evacuat și 50 ml de benzen a fost distilat în solid. Soluția a fost încălzita la temperatura de 25°C și pusă sub o atmosferă (0,1 MPa) de etilena. Solidul ((ΗΝ^,Η,)^ [BfCeEjjJ·} a fost apoi adăugat rezultând o soluție galbenă. După o oră, soluția galbenă vâscoasă mai absorbea etilena. Amestecul gelatinos rezultat a fost răcit brusc cu metanol, pentru a obține un precipitat alb. Materialul a fost filtrat, spălat de două ori cu metanol și uscat în vacuum, pentru a se obține 0,56 g de polietilenă.

Claims (15)
1. Complex metalic de monociclopentadienil sau monociclopentadienil substituit, caracterizat prin aceea că are formula structurală:
CpMX/A- (I) în care Cp este o unică grupare η5 -ciclopentadienil sau η5 -ciclopentadienil substituit, opțional legată covalent de M prin intermediul unui substituent, M este un metal selectat din grupele 3...10 ale Sistemului periodic sau din seria Lantanidelor legat într-un mod η5 Ia gruparea ciclopentadienil sau ciclopentadienil substituit, X este totdeauna hidrogen sau un atom de halogen, o grupare alchil, arii, silii, germil, ariloxi, alcoxi, amido sau siloxi, sau o combinație a acestora, având până la 20 de atomi diferiți de hidrogen, sau un ligand baza Lewis neutră, având până la 20 de atomi diferiți de hidrogen, sau opțional, X împreună cu Cp formează un metalociclo cu M de până la 20 atomi diferiți de hidrogen, n este 1 sau 2 funcție de valența lui M, și A’ este un anion necoordinativ, compatibil, al unei sări de acid Bronsted.
2. Compus, conform revendicării 1, caracterizat prin aceea că Cp corespunde formulei:

R’ in care: R’ este totdeauna hidrogen sau un radical selectat dintre halogen, grupări alchil, arii, haloalchil, alcoxi, ariloxi, silii sau o combinație a acestora cu până Ia 20 de atomi diferiți de hidrogen, sau două sau mai multe grupări R’ formează împreună un sistem fuzionat nucleic, și R este R’ sau o grupare care este legată covalent la M, de formula: -Z-Y-, în care Z este un radical bivalent, cuprinzând oxigen, bor, sau un membru din grupa 14 a Tabelului Periodic al Elementelor, și Y este o grupă de legare, legată covalent la metal, conținând azot, fosfor, oxigen sau sulf, sau opțional Z și Y formează împreună un sistem fuzionat ciclic.

Procedeu, pentru prepararea unui compus, conform revendicării 1, caracterizat prin aceea că cuprinde contactarea unui prim component de formula CpMX„,;, în care Cp, Μ, X și n sunt definiți mai înainte, cu un al doilea component de formula [L-HJ* [A]', în care L este o bază Lewis neutră și A' este așa cum a fost definit mai sus, într-un solvent inert, aprotic.
11. Procedeu, conform revendicării 10, caracterizat prin aceea că componentul de formula CpMXn+z reacționat cu un component de formula [L-H]* [BQJ', în care L este o bază Lewis neutră și Q este totdeauna hidrură, o grupare dialchilamido, halogenură, alcoxid, ariloxid, hidrocarbură, hidrocarbură substituită sau organometaloid cu până la 20 carboni, cu condiția că nu mai mult de o dată este Q halogenură.
12. Procedeu, conform revendicării 1, caracterizat prin aceea că, de fiecare dată, Q este pentafluorofenil.
13. Procedeu, conform revendicării 12, caracterizat prin aceea că primul component este un dialcoxid de pentametilciclopentadienil titan sau un dialchil pen tametilciclopentadienil titan având de la 1 la 4 carboni la gruparea alcoxid sau alchil și al doilea component este trialchilamoniu tetrachis-pentafluorofenil borat.
