Claims (19)
- 粒子ビームをトリムするためのデバイスであって、
粒子ビームに対して少なくとも2つの次元で移動することが可能な構造体であって、前記構造体が、前記粒子ビームが患者内の照射ターゲットに対して移動可能である平面によって画成された照射場内の前記粒子ビームの移動の間に、前記構造体から第1の次元に沿って伸長可能であり、かつ引っ込めることが可能である葉状体を含み、前記葉状体の伸長または引っ込める動作の少なくとも1つを通した前記葉状体の位置決定が、前記粒子ビームの第1の部分と前記粒子ビームの第2の部分との間に前記構造体の縁を画成し、前記構造体が前記粒子ビームの前記第1の部分を遮蔽し、その一方前記粒子ビームの前記第2の部分を通過させることができ、前記縁が少なくとも部分的に前記粒子ビームの前記第2の部分をコリメートし、前記縁が前記照射場内の位置において前記粒子ビームをインターセプトするように、前記構造体が、前記少なくとも2つの次元における前記照射場内で、前記患者に対して移動するようにコンピュータ制御された、デバイス。 - 前記構造体が第1の構造体であり、前記葉状体が第1の葉状体であり、前記縁が第1の縁であり、
前記デバイスが、前記粒子ビームに対して少なくとも前記2つの次元で移動することが可能な第2の構造体を含み、前記第2の構造体が、前記照射場内の前記粒子ビームの移動の間に、前記第2の構造体から前記第1の次元に沿って伸長可能であり、かつ引っ込めることが可能である第2の葉状体を含み、前記第2の葉状体の伸長または引っ込める動作の少なくとも1つを通した前記第2の葉状体の位置決定が、前記粒子ビームの第3の部分と前記粒子ビームの第4の部分との間に前記第2の構造体の第2の縁を画成し、前記構造体が前記粒子ビームの前記第3の部分を遮蔽し、その一方前記粒子ビームの前記第4の部分を通過させることができ、前記第2の縁が少なくとも部分的に前記粒子ビームの前記第4の部分をコリメートする、請求項1に記載のデバイス。 - 前記第2の構造体の移動が前記第1の構造体の移動に基づく、請求項2に記載のデバイス。
- 前記少なくとも2つの次元が、デカルト座標のX及びY次元を含む、請求項1に記載のデバイス。
- 前記構造体が回転可能である、請求項1に記載のデバイス。
- 前記粒子ビームの移動に基づいて移動するように制御可能である、請求項1に記載のデバイス。
- 粒子治療システムであって、
粒子ビームを発生させるための粒子加速器と、
患者内の照射ターゲットに対して前記粒子ビームを移動させる少なくとも1つの走査磁石と、
前記少なくとも1つの走査磁石と前記患者との間の、スポットごとに前記粒子ビームをトリムするためのコリメータと、を含み、
前記コリメータが、
前記粒子ビームに対して少なくとも2つの次元で移動可能な構造体を含み、前記構造体が、前記粒子ビームが前記照射ターゲットに対して移動可能である平面によって画成される照射場内の前記粒子ビームの移動の間に、第1の次元に沿って前記構造体から伸長可能であり、かつ引っ込めることが可能な葉状体を含み、前記葉状体の伸長または引っ込める動作の少なくとも1つを通した前記葉状体の位置決めが、前記粒子ビームの第1の部分と前記粒子ビームの第2の部分との間に前記構造体の縁を画成し、前記構造体が前記粒子ビームの前記第1の部分を前記患者に到達することから遮蔽し、その一方前記粒子ビームの前記第2の部分が前記照射ターゲットに到達することを可能にし、前記縁が、少なくとも部分的に前記粒子ビームの前記第2の部分をコリメートし、前記縁が前記照射場内の位置において前記粒子ビームをインターセプトするように、前記構造体が、前記少なくとも2つの次元における前記照射場内で、前記患者に対して移動するようにコンピュータ制御された、粒子治療システム。 - 前記少なくとも1つの走査磁石が、前記照射ターゲットの縁よりも、前記照射ターゲットの内側部分においてより速く前記粒子ビームを移動させるように制御可能である、請求項7に記載の粒子治療システム。
- 前記少なくとも1つの走査磁石が、異なる入射角からの前記粒子ビームを移動するように構成可能であり、
前記粒子ビームが異なる入射角から移動されると、前記コリメータが前記粒子ビームの移動に基づいて移動するように制御可能である、請求項7に記載の粒子治療システム。 - 前記コリメータが少なくとも開口の一部を画成し、前記縁が前記開口の縁を含む、請求項7に記載の粒子治療システム。
- 前記粒子加速器がシンクロサイクロトロンを含み、前記シンクロサイクロトロンが、
プラズマ柱からの粒子を加速するために空洞に高周波(RF)電圧を提供する電圧源であって、前記空洞内に、前記粒子が前記空洞内で軌道上を移動することを引き起こす磁場が存在する、電圧源と、
前記粒子を受け、前記受けた粒子を前記空洞から出力する引き出しチャネルと、
前記空洞内に磁場バンプを設け、それにより前記プラズマ柱から加速される前記粒子の連続的軌道を変化させ、最終的に、粒子が前記引き出しチャネルに出力されるようにする、再生器とを備え、
前記磁場が、4テスラ(T)から20Tの間であり、前記磁場バンプが、最大2テスラである、請求項7に記載の粒子治療システム。 - 少なくとも前記粒子加速器が取り付けられたガントリーをさらに含み、前記ガントリーが、前記粒子加速器を前記患者の周りに少なくとも部分的に移動させるように構成された、請求項7に記載の粒子治療システム。
- 前記少なくとも1つの走査磁石と前記患者との間にあるエネルギーデグレーダであって、前記エネルギーデグレーダが前記粒子ビームを受け、前記エネルギーデグレーダが、前記粒子ビームが前記エネルギーデグレーダを通過できるようなビーム透過性材料を含み、それにより、前記粒子ビームのエネルギーを変化させる、エネルギーデグレーダと、
前記エネルギーデグレーダが前記粒子ビームの移動の間に移動するように前記エネルギーデグレーダの動作を制御し、前記コリメータが前記粒子ビームの移動に基づいて移動するように前記コリメータの動作を制御する制御システムと、をさらに含む、請求項7に記載の粒子治療システム。 - 前記少なくとも2つの次元がデカルト座標のX及びY座標を含む、請求項7に記載の粒子治療システム。
- 前記構造体が回転可能である、請求項7に記載の粒子治療システム。
- 前記コリメータの構成要素が、前記粒子ビームの移動に基づいて移動するように制御可能である、請求項7に記載の粒子治療システム。
- 前記縁が、少なくとも部分的に、前記構造体によって画成された縁を含む、請求項7に記載の粒子治療システム。
- 前記構造体が、前記照射ターゲットの外縁部に沿って前記縁を移動するように制御可能である、請求項1に記載のデバイス。
