Claims (14)
- 粒子ビームを出力するための粒子加速器と、
前記粒子ビームを患者内の照射ターゲットの少なくとも一部にわたって走査させる粒子加速器用の走査システムであって、前記粒子ビームを前記照射ターゲットの少なくとも一部にわたって少なくとも2次元内で走査するように構成される、走査システムと、
前記粒子ビームが前記照射ターゲットの少なくとも一部にわたって走査される際に、前記粒子ビームの移動を辿るように走査する間に、前記粒子ビームに対して少なくとも2次元内で移動するように制御可能である複数の要素を含むコリメータであって、前記複数の要素が、前記粒子ビームの透過を抑制する材料を含み、前記複数の要素のそれぞれが、1次元または2次元内で伸縮可能であり、前記コリメータの縁を画定するフィンガを含み、前記コリメータが、前記粒子ビームの第1の部分が患者に到達することを妨げつつ、前記粒子ビームの第2の部分が前記照射ターゲットの少なくとも一部に到達可能にするために、前記粒子ビームの前記第1の部分と前記患者との間に移動可能である、コリメータと、を備える粒子治療システム。 - 前記複数の要素のそれぞれが回転可能である、請求項1に記載の粒子治療システム。
- 前記フィンガが前記縁の大きさを変更するように調整可能である、請求項1に記載の粒子治療システム。
- 前記フィンガが照射ターゲットに対して個別に移動可能である、請求項1に記載の粒子治療システム。
- 前記複数の要素は第1の要素および第2の要素を含み、前記第1の要素は前記縁を画定し、前記縁は第1の縁であり、前記第2の要素は第2の縁を画定し、
前記第1の縁および前記第2の縁は前記照射ターゲットに対して移動するように制御可能である請求項1に記載の粒子治療システム。 - 前記走査システムは、前記粒子ビームの移動を制御して前記粒子ビームを走査するための少なくとも1つの磁石を備え、前記少なくとも1つの磁石は印加される電流に応答して磁場を発生するためのものであり、前記磁場は前記移動に影響を及ぼす請求項1に記載の粒子治療システム。
- 前記走査システムは、前記照射ターゲットの辺縁部よりも、前記照射ターゲットの内側部分においてより速く前記粒子ビームを走査するように構成される請求項1に記載の粒子治療システム。
- 前記粒子ビームは、平面の領域内で移動可能であり、
前記走査システムは、前記平面の面積未満の面積を有するエネルギーデグレーダを含む、請求項1に記載の粒子治療システム。 - 前記エネルギーデグレーダは、前記平面の前記面積の1/2未満の面積を有する、請求項8に記載の粒子治療システム。
- 前記エネルギーデグレーダは、前記平面の前記面積の1/4未満の面積を有する、請求項8に記載の粒子治療システム。
- 前記エネルギーデグレーダは、前記平面の前記面積の1/8未満の面積を有する、請求項8に記載の粒子治療システム。
- 前記エネルギーデグレーダは、前記粒子ビームの断面積の10倍未満の面積を有する、請求項8に記載の粒子治療システム。
- 前記走査システムは、異なる入射角から前記粒子ビームを走査するように構成され、
前記複数の要素は、前記粒子ビームが異なる入射角から走査されるときの前記粒子ビームの移動に基づき移動するように制御可能である請求項1に記載の粒子治療システム。 - 前記走査システムは、
前記粒子ビームを照射ターゲットの少なくとも一部にわたって走査するように前記粒子ビームの方向に影響を及ぼす磁石と、
前記粒子ビームを前記照射ターゲットに出力する前に前記粒子ビームのエネルギーを変えるデグレーダであって、前記粒子加速器に対して前記磁石のビーム下流側にあるデグレーダとを備え、
前記粒子加速器は、可変エネルギーシンクロサイクロトロンである請求項1に記載の粒子治療システム。
