運転者の緊急時に走行中の車両を自動的に停止させ、車両の停車状態を継続する車両の緊急退避装置に於いて、信号機、交差点又は踏切前で車両が停止している状態で、運転者の体調の異常又は悪化が生じた場合、或いは、運転者が緊急退避処理の要求をした場合など、緊急退避処理が必要となったときには、緊急退避処理の実行開始の意思確認処理を実行せずに停車継続処理を実行して、停車状態を維持して車両の安全性が担保される。また、自動停車制御の実行の際に、走行中の道路が自動車専用道路若しくは高速道路又は一般道であるかによって車両の停車位置が決定される構成と、緊急退避処理の実行開始後に、同乗者の動きに基づいて緊急退避処理に対するオーバーライドを許可するか否かを判定する構成とが提供される。

Description

車両の緊急退避装置
 本発明は、自動車等の車両に於ける運転者の緊急時に、走行中の車両を自動的に停止させ、停車中の車両の停車状態を維持する緊急退避装置に係る。
 自動車等の車両の運転支援技術の分野に於いて、車両の運転中に運転者の体調悪化等によって運転の継続が困難となる場合に、運転者の制動操作(ブレーキペダルの操作など)によらず、車両を自動的に停止させる緊急退避処理を実行する緊急退避装置が提案されている。例えば、特許文献1に於いては、運転者の心拍数、操舵の実行されない時間、瞬きがされない時間(カメラにより運転者の顔面を監視)等を計測して運転者の意識低下(居眠りの前兆)を検出し、運転者の意識低下があったときに、覚醒を促しても運転者の意識低下が繰り返される場合には、自動的な停車制御を実行することが記載されている。また、特許文献2に於いては、脈拍変化に基づいて運転者の居眠りを検出し、その際に覚醒のための警報を発しても運転者の反応がない場合又は鈍い場合、或いは、運転者が身体の異常を感じて運転続行が困難であるときに運転者自身がスイッチ又は指示入力装置を通じて車両の自動停止を要求した場合には、前方障害物との衝突の可能性を考慮して設定される減速度にて、車両の自動停止を実行することが提案されている。更に、特許文献3は、カメラを用いて運転者の顔が正面を向いていないこと又は所定時間継続して目を閉じていることなどを検出することにより、或いは、運転者の心拍数と呼吸数とに基づいて、運転者の意識低下又は居眠りを判定し、運転者の意識低下又は居眠りが判定されたときには、車両の周囲の状況を車載カメラ、レーダーセンサ、ナビゲーションシステム、車車間通信等の検知手段を用いて、路端や路肩の幅や障害物の位置を特定して、安全に停車できる位置へ車両を自動的に誘導して停車するよう構成された車両停止装置を提案している。更にまた、特許文献4は、危険回避のための運転支援システムであって、危険回避のための動作が実行される際に、所定の連絡先への通報が為されるシステムを開示している。

 緊急退避装置に於いて、緊急退避処理として自動的な停車制御が実行される場合、操縦の主権委譲、即ち、車両の操縦する権限の運転者から制御装置への移行が為されることとなる。従って、かかる操縦の主権委譲を伴う自動停車制御を実行するか否かの判定は、慎重に実行される必要がある。そこで、緊急退避装置に於いて、一つの態様として、例えば、運転者の体調の異常又は悪化が検知された際に、或いは、運転者自身がスイッチ又は指示入力装置を通じて自動停車を要求した際に、それが誤検知又は誤入力ではないことを確認するべく、自動停車制御の実行開始に先だって、運転者に対して、スイッチ又は指示入力装置を通じて自動停車制御の実行の許可若しくは要求又は取消の意思確認の入力を要求する構成が設けられている場合がある。かかる運転者の意思確認するための処理(意思確認処理)に於いては、典型的には、装置が、運転者に対して、意思確認の入力の要求を音声により及び/又は視覚的な表示により通知した後、所定時間の内に為される運転者の応答(スイッチ又は指示入力装置を操作すること又はスイッチ又は指示入力装置に対して何も操作をしないこと)を待って、運転者の意思が確認される。従って、自動停車制御の実行前の意思確認処理の完了には、通常、数秒から数十秒の時間を要する。
 ところで、上記の緊急退避装置に於ける処理の一つの態様として、車両が信号機、交差点又は踏切に於いて停車しているときに、運転者の体調の異常又は悪化が生じた場合、例えば、運転者のブレーキペダルの踏込みを維持することが困難なときには、好適には、車両の停止を維持する運転者支援(停車継続制御)を実行することが考えられる。停車継続制御も、運転者の制動操作によらずに車両の運動を制御する点で、操縦の主権委譲を伴う自動停車制御と同様である。従って、停車継続制御を実行する際にも、その実行開始に先立って運転者による意思確認処理を実行することが好ましい。
 しかしながら、既に触れた如く、緊急退避処理に対する運転者による意思確認処理は、通常、数秒から数十秒の時間を要する。従って、意思確認処理が完了するまで停車継続制御の実行開始をせずに待機している間に、もし運転者の意図に反してブレーキペダルの踏込み解除又はステアリングホイールの回転などが起きた場合には、クリープ等により意図しない車両の運動が生じ得る。この点に関し、信号機、交差点又は踏切の前にて車両が停止している場合(例えば、信号機が赤の場合、踏切の遮断機が降りている場合或いは交差車線を通過する他車等が存在する場合)、運転者の意図するところは、停車の継続であると想定される。従って、車両が信号機、交差点又は踏切前で停車しているときには、停車を継続する処理は、原則として、運転者の意図に矛盾せず、意思確認処理は省略可能であろう。また、停車継続制御の必要性が検知された際には、運転者自身によりその必要性が取り消されない限り、或いは、その他の停車継続しない方が安全性を担保できる状態で無い限り、意思確認処理を省略してそのまま停車を確実に継続すれば、車両の安全性は向上される。
 かくして、本発明の主な課題は、運転者の緊急時に走行中の車両を自動的に停止させ、停止中の車両の停車状態を継続する車両の緊急退避装置に於いて、信号機、交差点又は踏切前にて車両が停止している状態で、運転者の体調の異常又は悪化が生じた場合、或いは、運転者が緊急退避処理の要求をした場合など、緊急退避処理が必要となったときには、緊急退避処理の実行開始の意思確認処理を実行せずに緊急退避処理としての停車継続処理を実行して、停車状態を維持して車両の安全性を担保することである。
 なお、本発明に於いては、緊急退避装置に於いて、走行中の車両に於いて自動停車制御の実行の際に、停車の容易性と後続車の走行安全性を考慮して道路の種類に応じて車両の停車位置を決定する構成、及び、走行中の車両に於いて緊急退避処理が実行されている際に、同乗者の動きに基づいて緊急退避処理に対するオーバーライドを許可するか否かを判定して車両の走行時の安全性を考慮した構成が提案される。
 本発明によれば、上記の課題は、緊急退避処理を実行する車両の緊急退避装置であって、緊急退避処理の必要性が生じたときに該緊急退避処理の実行開始に対する運転者の意思を確認する意思確認処理を実行して運転者の意思が緊急退避処理の実行開始を指示しているときに緊急退避処理の実行開始の指令を出力する緊急退避処理実行判定部と、緊急退避処理実行判定部からの指令に応答して緊急退避処理を実行する車両走行制御部とを含み、停止中の車両に於いて緊急退避処理の必要性が生じたときには、意思確認処理を実行せずに緊急退避処理としての停車継続制御の実行を開始する装置によって達成される。なお、「停車継続制御」とは、運転者の制動操作(ブレーキペダルの操作など)によらず、車両を停止した状態を維持する制御処理である。また、上記の構成に於いて、「緊急退避処理の必要性が生じたとき」とは、運転者の体調の異常又は悪化等の要因により運転の続行が困難であることが検出され、或いは、運転者がそのように感じ、従って、既に述べた如き、緊急退避処理、即ち、走行中の車両を、運転者の制動操作によらず、自動的に停止させる自動停車制御、或いは、上記の如き停車継続制御を実行した方が好ましい状況である。かかる「緊急退避処理の必要性が生じたとき」は、具体的には、運転者が緊急退避処理の要求の指示入力を運転者指示入力部に対して入力したとき、或いは、運転者の生理状態を推定する運転者生理状態推定部が運転者の生理状態の異常を検知したときであってよい。
 上記の構成によれば、車両の停止中については、緊急退避処理の必要性が生じたときには、時間を要する意思確認処理が実行されずに、速やかに停車継続制御の実行が開始されることとなる。これにより、車両の停車状態は、運転者の制動操作によらず維持されることとなり、クリープ現象や運転者の意図しない操縦による車両の運動は阻止され、車両の安全性が担保されることとなる。
 上記の構成に於いて、より詳細には、車両が信号機若しくは踏切に於ける停止信号に従って又は道路状況に対応して停止している状態に於いて、緊急退避処理の必要性が生じたときに意思確認処理を実行せずに緊急退避処理の実行が開始されてよい。既に述べた如く、信号機が停止信号(赤信号)を表示しているとき或いは踏切に於いて遮断機が降りているときに、その停止指示に従って停車しているときは、運転者は、停車状態を維持することを意図しているはずである。従って、信号機若しくは踏切に於ける停止信号に従った停車時には、操縦の主権委譲に対する意思確認処理を省略しても運転者の意図と緊急退避処理(停車継続制御)には矛盾はなく、車両の安全性が担保される。また、信号機又は踏切の停止信号によらず、道路状況に応じて、即ち、交差点に於いて自車の車線と交差する車線に走行する車両等、歩行者、障害物等の存在に対応して停車する場合にも、運転者は、停車状態を維持することを意図しているはずであるので、上記の如く意思確認処理を実行せずに停車継続制御の実行が開始され、車両の安全性が担保される。実施の形態に於いては、信号機又は踏切の停止信号、道路状況は、カーナビゲーションシステムからの車両周辺の道路の形状や交差点・踏切・横断歩道の位置に関する情報、車車間通信等により取得可能な自車周辺の他車の位置・速度に関する情報、ビデオカメラの映像や周辺認識センサ(レーダーセンサ、ミリ波センサなど)の出力等を用いて検出され、停車状態を維持することで、反って安全性が低下する場合を除き、緊急退避処理の必要性が生じたときには、意思確認処理が実行されずに、停車継続制御の実行が開始されてよい。一方、車両が停止中であっても、道路状況や信号機又は踏切の信号の状態によっては、停車状態を維持することで安全性が低下する可能性がある場合には、運転者の意思確認処理を実行した上で停車継続制御の実行が開始されるようになっていてよい。
 既に述べた如く、上記の本発明の装置は、車両の走行中に緊急退避処理の必要性が生じたときには、(意思確認処理が実行された後に)自動停車制御が実行されてよい。自動停車制御に於いては、車両は、減速され、カーナビゲーションシステムからの車両周辺の道路の形状や交差点・踏切・横断歩道の位置に関する情報、車車間通信等により取得可能な自車周辺の他車の位置・速度に関する情報、ビデオカメラの映像や周辺認識センサの出力等を用いて決定された安全に停車可能な位置に停止される。この点に関し、安全に停車可能な位置としては、典型的には、後続車の通行可能性を考慮して車両の走行中の道路の路端が想定されるところ、そのためには、路端の検出が必要となる。しかしながら、走行中の道路の状況によっては、必ずしも停車位置を路端とする必要のない場合がある。例えば、自動車専用道路又は高速道路では、車線幅及び路肩が広く、縁石等の障害物がない一方、道路の両端には壁やフェンスなどの工作物が設けられているので、路端に停車させるよりは、自車は、車線内にて停止しても、後続車は停止した自車を回避して通行可能である(図4(A)参照)。一方、一般道に於いては、車線及び路肩が比較的狭く、路端には、歩道、縁石、溝等が設けられている場合が多いので、自車を路端に停車させることが好ましくないことがある(図4(B)参照)。その場合には、むしろ、自車が停車することを後続車に通知し、自車と共に、後続車にも停車を要求する方が安全であると考えられる。
 かくして、上記の本発明の装置は、緊急退避処理として走行中の車両に於いて自動停車制御を実行するときには、車両が自動車専用道路又は高速道路の車線を走行しているときには、自動停車制御に於ける停車位置が車両の走行している車線の対向車線に近い側の端に隣接するよう車両の走行経路が制御され、車両が一般道の車線を走行しているときには、自動停車制御に於ける停車位置が車両の走行している車線両端のいずれにも隣接することのないよう車両の走行経路が制御されるよう構成されていてよい。かかる構成によれば、自動停車制御の実行に際して、路端検出は必須ではなくなり、かつ、車両の安全性も担保されることとなる。なお、上記の構成に於いて自動車専用道路又は高速道路の走行中に、停車位置を対向車線に近い側の端に隣接する位置とするのは、後続車が対向車から離れた位置にて自車を回避して走行する方がより安全なためである。また、車両が自動車専用道路又は高速道路の車線を走行しているときに、車両が停車可能な路肩が検出されたときには、自動停車制御に於ける停車位置が路肩内となるよう車両の走行経路が制御されてよい。
 ところで、上記の如き車両の緊急退避装置に於いて、緊急退避処理の実行が一旦開始された場合、オーバーライド、即ち、アクセルペダル、ブレーキペダル、ステアリングホイール等の変位が緊急退避処理を凌駕して車両の走行状態を変更する処理、は、原則として無効化することが好ましい。これは、運転者の発作、手足の硬直等により運転者の意図によらないアクセルペダル、ブレーキペダル、ステアリングホイール等に変位が生ずる可能性があるためである。従って、上記の如き車両の緊急退避装置には、好適には、運転者の緊急退避処理の実行の中止指示を受容する中止指示入力部(キャンセルスイッチ)が設けられ、緊急退避処理に対するオーバーライドは、運転者が中止指示入力部を通じて中止指示を入力したときに許可されるよう構成されていることが好ましい。そして、中止指示入力部は、運転者以外の乗員の誤操作を防止するために、運転者のみが容易にアクセスできる部位に設けられることが望ましい。
 しかしながら、例えば、前方車の急制動時等の急な状況変化に対応すべく助手席の乗員がステアリングホイール等を操作する場合などを想定すると、そのような状況では、中止指示入力部への中止指示がなくても、オーバーライドを許可した方が好ましい場合がある。そのような状況は、例えば、車両の同乗者の姿勢に基づいて検知することが可能である。
 そこで、本発明の装置に於いては、更に、緊急退避処理の実行開始後に於いて、中止指示の受容の有無によらず、車両の同乗者の姿勢に基づいて緊急退避処理に対するオーバーライドを許可するか否かが決定されるようになっていてよい。その場合、具体的には、緊急退避処理の実行開始後にアクセルペダル、ブレーキペダル、ステアリングホイール等の変位が生じたとき、かかる変位を有効なものとするか否かが車両の同乗者の姿勢状態によって決定され、前記の変位を有効なものと判定されたときには、かかる変位に従って、車両の走行状態が変化することとなる。
 総じて、上記の本発明によれば、運転者の緊急時に自動停車制御又は停車継続制御を実行する車両の緊急退避装置に於いて、緊急退避処理を実行するか否かの判定、緊急退避処理に於ける停車位置の選定、或いは、緊急退避処理に対するオーバーライドの許可/不許可に関して、緊急退避処理が必要になったときの状況に、より適切に対応することが可能となる。上記及び実施形態の欄に於いて説明される如く、緊急退避処理の必要性が生ずる際の状況は、多様であり、互いに異なる。そこで、上記の一連の本発明の装置の態様に於いては、車両の運転中に想定される状況をより詳細に検討し、全ての場合に一律の制御処理を行うのではなく、状況に応じて、異なる処置が講じられ、これにより、従前提案されている車両の緊急退避装置の構成に比して、緊急退避処理に於ける車両の安全性の更なる向上が期待される。
 本発明のその他の目的及び利点は、以下の本発明の好ましい実施形態の説明により明らかになるであろう。

 以下に添付の図を参照しつつ、本発明を幾つかの好ましい実施形態について詳細に説明する。
 本発明による車両の緊急退避装置は、端的に述べれば、車両の運転中に運転者が急病又は体調不良により運転し続けることが困難となった際に、周囲を巻き込まないように、車両を路端や路線の端等に寄せて停止する処理(自動停車制御による緊急退避処理)を、その必要性を検知することにより、或いは、運転者の要求により、自動的に実行する装置である。また、車両の緊急退避装置は、車両の停止中に運転者が急病又は体調不良により運転し続けることが困難となった際には、ブレーキペダルの踏込み等の運転者の操縦によらず、停車した状態を維持する処理(停車継続制御による緊急退避処理)を、その必要性を検知することにより、或いは、運転者の要求により、自動的に実行する。特に、本発明に於いては、後に詳細に説明される如く、停車中に緊急退避処理が必要となったときには、所定の条件の下で、緊急退避処理に対する運転者の意思を確認する処理を省略して緊急退避処理が実行される。以下、本発明による緊急退避装置の構成と作動について詳細に説明する。
(a)全体の構成
 車両の緊急退避装置が搭載される自動車等の車両は、任意の自動車等の車両であってよい。車両には、通常の態様にて、各輪に制駆動力を発生する動力装置と、ステアリング装置と、各輪に制動力を発生する制動装置とが搭載される(図示せず)。動力装置、制動装置及び操舵装置は、それぞれ、運転者による操縦入力とは別に、走行制御部による指令に従って、制駆動力又は操舵角を変更し制御する制御装置(駆動制御装置、制動制御装置、操舵制御装置)によって作動されるようになっていてよい。
 図1(A)は、車両の緊急退避装置と関連する装置とのシステム構成をブロック図の形式にて示している。同図を参照して、車両の緊急退避装置本体10(判定処理ECU)は、体調悪化や意識低下の有無等の運転者の状態を監視するための運転者状態認識部40(運転者状態認識ECU)が運転者の体調の異常又は悪化を検知して緊急退避処理の必要性を判定したとき、或いは、運転者が運転者指示入力70の受容器70a(スイッチ等)を通じて緊急退避処理を要求したとき、走行中の車両に於いては安全に停車可能な位置への停車を実行し、停車中の車両に於いては停車状態を維持するべく、車両の周囲の状況を検知するための環境情報認識部20(環境情報認識ECU)及び車両の走行状態を検知するための車両情報認識部30(車両情報認識部ECU)からの情報又はデータを用いて、車両の制駆動制御と操舵制御とを実行する走行制御部50(走行制御ECU)へ指示を与える。また、かかる指示の送信に伴って、緊急退避装置10は、運転者又は乗員、或いは、車両の周囲の他車に、緊急退避制御処理の必要性の存在又はその処理が実行されていることを認識させるための各種通知を実行する運転支援HMI(Human Interface)60の各部を作動する。
 かかる緊急退避処理に関して、既に触れた如く、上記の如き自動停車制御又は停車継続制御は、車両の操縦の主権を運転者から電子制御装置へ委譲する処理を含むため、かかる緊急退避処理を実行するか否かの判定は、原則として、運転者の意思確認をした上で慎重に為される必要がある。そこで、上記の構成に於いて、緊急退避処理が必要であると判定されたとき或いは運転者から緊急退避処理が要求されたとき、原則として、判定処理ECUは、運転支援HMIのディスプレイの表示又はスピーカからの音声を通じて、運転者に対して、緊急退避処理の実行の許可若しくは要求の再確認の指示(実行指示)又は取消の指示(不実行指示)を運転者指示入力部70の受容器70aへ指示入力を与えるよう要求する(意思確認処理)。そして、かかる意思確認処理に対する運転者の応答の態様に応じて、後に詳細に説明する態様にて、緊急退避処理を実行するか否かの決定が行われ、緊急退避処理の実行が決定されたときに、自動停車制御又は停車継続制御が実行される。
 しかしながら、特に、車両が信号機や踏切の停止信号に従って或いは道路状況に対応して既に停車しているときには、運転者は、通常、停車を意図しているはずであり、上記の意思確認処理は省略可能であると想定される。また、意思確認処理は、その完了までに数秒~数十秒の時間を要するところ、その間にクリープ現象や運転者の意図しないペダル又はステアリングホイールの変位によって、車両が運動してしまう可能性が生ずる。従って、本発明の装置では、後に説明するように、停車中に緊急退避処理の必要性が生じた場合、即ち、停車中に運転者状態認識部40が運転者の体調の異常又は悪化を検知したとき又は運転者が緊急退避処理を要求したときには、所定の条件の下で、意思確認処理が省略される。
 また、上記の本発明の装置に於いて緊急退避処理としての自動停車制御又は停車継続制御の実行開始後、原則として、アクセルペダル、ブレーキペダル、ステアリングホイール等に対する操作、即ち、これらの機器の変位は、無効化され、車両の運動に反映されないよう構成される。これは、運転者の発作、手足の硬直等により運転者の意図によらないアクセルペダル、ブレーキペダル、ステアリングホイール等に変位が生ずる可能性があり、そのような変位は無視すべきだからである。しかしながら、緊急退避処理の実行開始後に運転者又は乗員が、オーバーライド、即ち、緊急退避装置による自動的な制御を凌駕して、アクセルペダル、ブレーキペダル、ステアリングホイール等を操作して車両の運動を制御したい場合も生ずる。そこで、本実施形態の装置に於いては、オーバーライドは、中止指示入力部80のキャンセルスイッチ80aが操作され、これにより制御の中止の指令が中止指示入力部80から判定処理ECU10へ与えられた後に、有効化される。そして、キャンセルスイッチ80aは、運転者以外の乗員が誤操作することを防止すべく、好適には、運転者のみにアクセスが容易な部位、例えば、運転席側のAピラーの根元(図1(B))、運転席シートの背部と臀部との接合部付近(図1(C))又は運転席のサンバイザー(図示せず)に設けられる。
 しかしながら、例えば、前方車の急制動時等の急な状況変化があった場合に、運転者が操縦困難であるが、助手席の乗員がペダルやステアリングホイールを操作し、急な状況変化に対応可能となる場合がある。そのような場合には、キャンセルスイッチ80aの操作によらず、オーバーライドを有効化した方が有利である。そこで、本発明の装置では、後に詳細に説明される如く、助手席の乗員の状態(特に、姿勢)を検知するために助手席の座面にセンサ42が設けられ、オーバーライドの許可/不許可の判定に於いて、センサ42の出力が参照される。
 なお、上記の各ECUは、それぞれ、通常の形式の、双方向コモン・バスにより相互に連結されたCPU、ROM、RAM及び入出力ポート装置を有するマイクロコンピュータ及び駆動回路を含んでいてよい。以下に説明する各ECUに於ける処理作動は、各ECUのコンピュータ・プログラムに従った作動により実現される。
(b)運転者状態認識部(運転者生理状態推定部)
 運転者状態認識部は、上記の如く、運転中の運転者の体調を監視して、運転者の体調の悪化や意識の低下を検出する。運転者状態認識部に於いては、例えば、運転者の脳波、心拍数、発汗量、血圧、呼気中の成分を検出して、それらの検出データに基づいて、体調がどのような状態にあるかの検出が可能な任意の装置と同様であってよい。また、運転者の体調の監視に於いて、運転者の顔や姿勢を撮像するカメラにより、運転者の視線、顔向きの変化等が考慮されていてもよい。かくして、運転者状態認識部に於いて、運転の続行が困難であるほどの運転者の体調の異常又は悪化が検知されると、その情報が判定処理ECUへ伝達される。
(c)緊急退避処理の実行開始判定処理
 緊急退避処理の実行を開始するか否かの判定は、運転者からの要求の有無と運転者の体調とを参照して為される。また、特に、本発明に於いては、既に述べた如く、車両が停止しているときには、道路状況も参照される。図2(A)は、判定処理ECUに於いて実行される緊急退避処理の実行を開始するか否かの判定の処理を示している。なお、同図の処理は、車両の運転中に、判定処理ECUのメモリに保存されたコンピュータ・プログラムに従って反復して実行される。
 図2(A)を参照して、緊急退避処理の実行を開始するか否かの判定処理に於いては、まず、運転者が運転者指示入力部70の受容器を通じて緊急退避処理の要求をしたか否か(ステップ10)及び運転者状態認識ECU40による運転者の生理状態の監視結果が運転者の体調の悪化を示しているか否かが判定される。そして、運転者が緊急退避処理の要求をしたこと、或いは、運転者の体調の異常又は悪化が検知されていることが示されたときには、車両が停車中か否かが判定される(ステップ30)。判定は、車速>0であるか否かを参照することによってなされてよい。
 車両が停車中ではないとき、即ち、車両が走行中であるときには、緊急退避処理として自動停車制御が実行される。しかしながら、緊急退避処理の実行の前に、緊急退避処理の実行を開始してよいか否かについて運転者の意思を確認する処理が実行される(ステップ40)。意思確認処理の一つの態様に於いては、図2(B)に示されている如く、まず、スピーカからの音声又はモニター画面に於ける表示を用いて、緊急退避処理の実行開始を許可する場合には受容器70aを押圧又は操作することなど、即ち、操縦の主権委譲の意思確認処理として緊急退避処理の実行開始の許可操作が、運転者に対して要求される(ステップ100)。そして、この要求に応答して、運転者が所定時間内に許可操作を行ったと判定されたときには(ステップ110、120)、緊急退避処理の実行の意思ありと判定される。しかしながら、運転者が許可操作を行ったと判定される前に所定時間が経過したときには、緊急退避処理の実行の意思なしと判定される。意思確認処理のもう一つの態様に於いては、図2(C)に示されている如く、スピーカからの音声又はモニター画面に於ける表示を用いて、緊急退避処理の実行開始を取り消す場合には受容器70aを押圧又は操作すること、即ち、操縦の主権委譲の意思確認処理として緊急退避処理の実行開始の取消操作が、運転者に対して要求される(ステップ200)。そして、この要求に応答して、運転者が所定時間内に取消操作を行ったと判定されたときには(ステップ210、220)、緊急退避処理の実行の意思なしと判定されるが、運転者が取消操作を行ったと判定されることなく所定時間が経過したときには、緊急退避処理の実行の意思ありと判定される。意思確認処理として図2(B)の処理と図2(C)の処理とのいずれを選択するかは、任意に選択されてよいところ、運転者の体調の悪化の程度が検知できる場合には、典型的には、悪化の程度が低いときには、図2(B)の処理が選択され、悪化の程度が高いときには、図2(C)の処理が選択されてよい。
 かくして、意思確認処理がなされ、緊急退避処理の実行の意思ありと判定されているときには(ステップ42)、緊急退避処理として自動停車制御が実行される(ステップ60)。一方、緊急退避処理の実行の意思なしと判定されているときには(ステップ42)、緊急退避処理は実行されず(ステップ70)、再び、ステップ10及び20による判定処理が再開される。
 ステップ30に於いて、車両が停車中であると判定されたときには、道路状況が参照されて停車状態が継続されるべきか否かが判定される(ステップ50)。かかる道路状況の判定に於いては、端的に述べれば、環境情報認識部20に於けるカーナビゲーションシステム、車車間通信、ビデオカメラの映像や周辺認識センサ(レーダーセンサ、ミリ波センサなど)の出力等を用いて、停車位置に於ける信号機や踏切の状態や交通規則(一時停止位置か否かなど)、停車位置近傍の交通量予測、後続車の有無等が参照されてよい。
 例えば、自車Oが、図3に例示されている如き信号機Sが停止信号(赤信号)を表示している交差点(又は信号機はないが一時停止の標識の在る交差点)の停止線Lにて停車している場合、交差する道路に他車Cが通過していることが予想される。また、停止信号を表示しているか遮断機の下りている踏切に於いても自車の進行方向に交差する方向に鉄道車両が通過していることが予想される。従って、まず、環境情報認識部20からの情報により、(i)停車位置前の信号機が停止信号を表示している場合、(ii)停車位置前の踏切が停止信号を表示している場合、(iii)停車位置が一時停止位置である場合のいずれかが検知されたときには、停車状態が継続されるべきであると判定される。また、特に、停車中の自車の前方に於いて、信号機の停止信号が許可信号(青信号)に変わったとき又は踏切の遮断機が上昇して停止信号が消灯したときには、自車の進行方向の交通が再開され、その場合、自車の後方に後続車F(図3参照)が存在している場合には、停車状態が継続されるべき状態ではなくなる場合がある。そこで、停車中に信号機又は踏切の停止信号が消灯され、その後に緊急退避処理の必要性が検知された場合には、停車状態が継続されるべきか否かの判定に於いて、後続車の有無及びその距離が参照されてよい。具体的には、環境情報認識部20の各種機器を使用して、後続車までの距離を検出し、その距離が所定距離よりも長いとき((iv)の状態)には、停車状態を維持しても後続車に於いて支障がないか少ないと想定されるので、停車状態が継続されてよい状態と判定されてよい。
 更に、停車位置の前方に、信号機、踏切、一時停止標識等が存在せず、上記の(i)~(iii)の情報がないときには、自車の停車位置前方の死角の有無、停車位置前方の対象物との遭遇確率、停車位置前方の動線の存在確率が参照されてよい。ここで、死角の有無は、環境情報認識部20からの情報を用いて検知することが可能である。対象物との遭遇確率とは、任意の位置に於いて、これまでにその位置を通過したときに車両、歩行者等と遭遇した回数の確率であり(特許文献5参照)、動線の存在確率とは、任意の位置に於けるその位置が車両、歩行者等の通過位置となっている確率であり、それぞれ、予め任意の記憶装置にて蓄積されたデータから取得される。そして、停車位置に於ける(v)死角が存在する場合、(vi)対象物との遭遇確率が所定値以上である場合、(vii)動線の存在確率が所定以上である場合のいずれかのとき、停車状態が継続されるべきであると判定されてよい。
 かくして、上記の(i)~(vii)の状態が検知されたときには、停車状態が継続されるべきであり、停車継続制御は、運転者の意図と矛盾しないと予測されるので、意思確認処理が省略可能であると判断され(ステップ52)、緊急退避処理として停車継続処理が実行される(ステップ60)。一方、上記の(i)~(vii)の状態のいずれでもないとき、意思確認処理が省略可能ではないと判断され(ステップ52)、上記に述べた意思確認処理(ステップ40)が実行された後、緊急退避処理の実行の意思ありと判定されたときのみ、緊急退避処理として停車継続処理が実行される(ステップ60)。
 上記の構成によれば、車両の停車中であって、道路状況が停車状態を継続するべきであると判定されるときには、運転者の緊急退避処理に対する意思確認処理が省略され、緊急退避処理の必要性が生じた後、直ぐに停車継続制御が実行されることとなる。これにより、車両の停車中に運転者の体調が悪化した場合などの緊急時に於いては、仮に運転者がブレーキペダルの踏込みの解除、ステアリングホイールの回転を行っても、車両は停車状態を維持することとなるので、車両の安全性が担保されることとなる。
(d)自動停車制御に於ける停車位置
 上記の如く、走行中の車両に於いては、緊急退避処理として自動停車制御が実行される。自動停車制御に於いては、端的に述べれば、制御の実行開始が決定された後、車両は、減速されつつ、環境情報認識部20から得られる周囲の状況を考慮して選定又は決定された安全に停車可能な位置へ誘導される。安全に停車可能な位置の決定に於いては、カーナビゲーションシステムからの車両周辺の道路の形状や交差点・踏切・横断歩道の位置に関する情報、車車間通信等により取得可能な自車周辺の他車の位置・速度に関する情報、ビデオカメラの映像や周辺認識センサ(レーダーセンサ、ミリ波センサなど)の出力等を用いて検出される路端若しくは路肩の位置・距離、障害物の位置・距離、路面上の白線の位置に関する情報を用いて、自車が減速及び停車の際に周囲に対する影響ができるだけ少なくなる領域を把握するとともに、かかる領域内のうち、車両情報認識部ECUに於いて取得される現在の車両の走行状態(車速、加減速度、舵角)からの減速及び/又は操舵によって無理なく停車可能な位置が選択される。
 かかる自動停車制御に於ける停車位置の選定に関して、その一つの手法としては、まず、環境情報認識部20からの情報を用いて走行中の道路の路端を検出して、しかる後に、現在の車両の走行状態から無理のない減速及び/又は操舵によって到達できる路端の領域を停車目標位置として決定するという構成が考えられる。しかしながら、走行中の車両を緊急に停止させる際に、周囲に対する影響をできるだけ少なくし、また、自車の安全性を考慮した場合に、停車目標位置として必ずしも路端を選択する必要はない。即ち、例えば、自動車専用道路又は高速道路など、車線幅が広く、また、車線数も多い一方で、路端に縁石等が無く、壁などの工作物が設けられている道路の走行中の場合、自車を路端まで移動させずに車線内にて停車させても、後続車は、停車した自車を回避することは可能である。また、図4(B)に描かれている如く、一般道など、車線幅及び/又は路肩幅が狭く、路端に縁石や溝などが設けられている道路の走行中の場合、自車を仮に路端に停車させても、後続車は、対向車線にはみ出ざるをえない場合があり、また、自車を路端に近付ける際に、縁石への衝突や溝への落下を防止すべく、相当に高精度にて縁石や溝と自車との間の距離を制御する必要がある。従って、そのような場合には、自車の緊急停車時には、後続車にも停車してもらう方が、より安全である。そこで、本発明の装置に於いては、自動停車制御に於ける停車位置の選定に於いて、走行中の道路が自動車専用道路又は高速道路であるか一般道であるかを判別し、それぞれに於いて異なる態様にて停車位置が決定される。
 具体的には、図2(A)の処理に於いて、車両の走行中に緊急退避処理の実行開始が決定された後、走行中の道路が自動車専用道路又は高速道路であるか一般道であるかが環境情報認識部20からの情報を用いて判定される。走行中の道路が自動車専用道路又は高速道路であるときには、白線検出用のカメラ及びシステム(LKA(レーンキーピングアシストシステム)等が用いられてよい。)により、自車Oの走行中の車線の白線wlを検出し、図4(A)に模式的に描かれている如く、対向車線opに近い側の白線wlに沿って停車位置が決定される。かくして自車Oが停車したとき、後続車Fは、対向車線にはみ出ることなく、矢印aにて示されている如く、自車Oの対向車線から離れた側を通って自車Oを回避しながら走行することとなる。なお、自車が、中央分離線CLに隣接した車線を走行しているときには、対向車線から遠い側の白線wlに沿って停車位置が決定されてもよい。その場合でも、自車Oの対向車線から離れた側が広いので、後続車Fは、自車Oの対向車線から離れた側を通って自車Oを回避しながら走行することが可能である。また、路端REに於いて、壁W等の工作物と路端REとの間の路肩RSに、自車を停車可能な幅があることが検出されたときには、路肩RS内に停車位置O’が決定されてもよい。
 一方、走行中の道路が一般道であるときには、自車と路端との距離を高精度に制御する必要性を排除すべく、図4(B)に模式的に描かれている如く、路端RE及び中央分離線CLのいずれにも近づくことなく停車される。その場合、後続車Fが自車Oを回避することは、対向車線に進入することとなり、好ましくないので、後続車Fにも確実に停車してもらうよう後続車Fに対して、ハザードランプ等を点灯させるなどして自車Oが停車することを通知することが好ましい。なお、一般道にて上記の如く停車する場合、車両の減速度は、図4(C)中のbにて例示されている如く、交差点や踏切の直前までに確実に車速が0になるよう設定される。また、その際、後続車の追突を防止するべく、図4(C)中のcにて例示されている如く、制御開始後の減速度の立ち上がりをできるだけ遅くして、後続車やその他の周囲への自車Oが停車することの報知が確実に行われるようにすべきである。
 その他の自動停車制御に於ける具体的な制御処理の態様は、例えば、特許文献3、或いは、本願発明者によるPCT/JP2011/052289の記載が参照されてよい。
 かくして、上記の構成によれば、緊急退避処理として自動停車制御を実行する際に、走行中の道路の種類に対応してより適切に停車位置が選定され、その停車位置への走行経路が制御されることとなる。また、かかる構成に於いては、路端の検出が必須の処理項目ではないので、高精度にて路端の検出が可能な装置は絶対的に必要とされず、車両の製造コストの低減も可能となり有利である。
(e)緊急退避処理実行開始後のオーバーライド
 既に触れた如く、緊急退避処理の実行開始後に於いては、オーバーライドは、原則として、運転者にアクセス容易な位置に配置された中止指示入力部80のキャンセルスイッチ80aが操作され、制御の中止の指令が中止指示入力部80から判定処理ECU10へ与えられた後に、有効となる。しかしながら、例えば、前走車の急ブレーキ等の急な状況変化が発生しそうな場合に、助手席の同乗者が何らかの操縦を試みたときには、キャンセルスイッチ80aが操作されなくても、オーバーライドを許可した方が有利である。そこで、本発明の装置に於いては、同乗者の姿勢を参照して、同乗者がオーバーライドのための適切な運動をする可能性があることを検知したときには、キャンセルスイッチ80aの操作の有無によらず、オーバーライドが有効化される。
 上記の構成を達成するために、既に述べた如く、助手席のシートの座部に於いて、図5(A)に例示されている如く、乗員の左右の荷重を検知する座面センサ42L、Rが設けられる。かくして、緊急退避処理の実行開始後に於いては、かかる座面センサ42L、Rの出力が監視され、図5(B)に例示されている如く、窓側(左側)のセンサ42Lの荷重が低減して所定値以下(OFF状態となったとき)となったとき、助手席の乗員が運転席側に姿勢を傾けたことが検知される。そして、かかる乗員の姿勢の変化の検知後、所定時間Δtの間に、何等かの運転操作が実行されたことが検知されたときには、助手席の乗員がオーバーライドを試みたと推定し、それ以後のオーバーライドが許可されることとなる。ここに於いて、何等かの運転操作は、例えば、下記のいずれかであってよい。
(i)車外へ緊急事態を発生する通報ボタンが押されたこと(図5(C)(i)参照)
(ii)ステアリングホイールが操作され、ステアリングトルクの変化量が所定値ΔTを越えたこと(図5(C)(ii)参照)
(iii)助手席の同乗者が運転者の意識状態を確認すべく運転席側(右側)に荷重かけたこと(図5(C)(iii)参照)
 上記の所定時間Δtは、任意に、例えば、実験的に設定されてよいところ、自車の前方の状況を検知し、その状況に応じて変化されてよい。具体的には、(a)現在の位置が交差点、合流・分流地点、出入り口等の近傍であること、(b)前方車がハザード又はウィンカの点灯を開始したことが、環境情報認識部20からの情報を用いて判別され、(a)が検出されたときには、(b)が検出されたときよりも所定時間Δtが短くなるよう設定されてよい。また、所定時間Δtは、上記の何等かの助手席の乗員の運転操作の内容が状況に適しているか否かに応じて変更されてよい。例えば、ステアリングホイール、ブレーキペダル、シフトレバーのいずれかに対する操作があったとき、ステアリングホイールの操作は、ブレーキペダルの操作よりも適切であり、ブレーキペダルの操作は、シフトレバーの操作よりも適切であると考えられる。そこで、ステアリングホイールの操作があったときの所定時間Δtは、ブレーキペダルの操作のあったときよりも短く設定され、ブレーキペダルの操作のあったときの所定時間Δtは、シフトレバーの操作のあったときよりも短く設定されてよい。
 かくして、オーバーライドが許可される状態になったときには、アクセルペダル、ブレーキペダル、ステアリングホイール等に対する操作が有効となり、これらの機器に於ける変位に対応した制御指令が、自動停車制御又は停車継続制御による制御指令に凌駕して、走行制御ECUに於いて参照され、車両の各部が制御されることとなる。
 上記の構成によれば、緊急退避処理の実行開始後に前走車の急ブレーキ等の状況変化があったときに、助手席の同乗者が咄嗟にステアリングホイールを操作した場合などには、その操作が緊急退避処理に対するオーバーライドとして許可されることとなる。
 以上の説明は、本発明の実施の形態に関連してなされているが、当業者にとつて多くの修正及び変更が容易に可能であり、本発明は、上記に例示された実施形態のみに限定されるものではなく、本発明の概念から逸脱することなく種々の装置に適用されることは明らかであろう。

Claims (6)

  1.  緊急退避処理を実行する車両の緊急退避装置であって、
     前記緊急退避処理の必要性が生じたときに前記緊急退避処理の実行開始に対する前記運転者の意思を確認する意思確認処理を実行して前記運転者の意思が前記緊急退避処理の実行開始を指示しているときに前記緊急退避処理の実行開始の指令を出力する緊急退避処理実行判定部と、
     前記緊急退避処理実行判定部からの前記指令に応答して前記緊急退避処理を実行する車両走行制御部と
    を含み、
     前記停止中の車両に於いて前記緊急退避処理の必要性が生じたときには、前記意思確認処理を実行せずに前記緊急退避処理としての停車継続制御の実行を開始する装置。
  2.  請求項1の装置であって、前記停止中の車両が、信号機若しくは踏切に於ける停止信号に従って又は道路状況に対応して停止している状態に於いて、前記緊急退避処理の必要性が生じたときには、前記意思確認処理を実行せずに前記緊急退避処理の実行を開始する装置。
  3.  請求項1又は2の装置であって、前記緊急退避処理の必要性が生じたときが、前記運転者が前記緊急退避処理の要求の指示入力を運転者指示入力部に対して入力したとき又は前記運転者の生理状態を推定する運転者生理状態推定部が前記運転者の生理状態の異常を検知したときである装置。
  4.  請求項1乃至3のいずれかの装置にして、緊急退避処理として走行中の車両に於いて自動停車制御を実行する装置であって、前記車両が自動車専用道路又は高速道路の車線を走行しているときには、前記自動停車制御に於ける停車位置が前記車両の走行している車線の対向車線に近い側の端に隣接するよう前記車両の走行経路が制御され、前記車両が一般道の車線を走行しているときには、前記自動停車制御に於ける停車位置が前記車両の走行している車線の両端のいずれにも隣接することのないよう前記車両の走行経路が制御される装置。
  5.  請求項4の装置であって、前記車両が自動車専用道路又は高速道路の車線を走行しているときに前記車両が停車可能な路肩が検出されたときには前記自動停車制御に於ける停車位置が前記路肩内となるよう前記車両の走行経路が制御される装置。
  6.  請求項1乃至5のいずれかの装置にして、前記運転者の前記緊急退避処理の実行の中止指示を受容する中止指示入力部を有し、前記緊急退避処理の実行開始後に前記中止指示入力部が前記運転者の前記中止指示を受容したときに前記緊急退避処理に対するオーバーライドが許可されるよう構成された装置であって、更に、前記中止指示の受容の有無によらず、前記車両の同乗者の姿勢に基づいて前記緊急退避処理に対するオーバーライドを許可するか否かを決定することを特徴とする装置。
