なお、本出願は、2009年10月30日に出願された米国特許出願番号第12/609,545号に基づく優先権を主張するものであり、その出願の内容全体を参照によってここに援用する。
車に与えられている加速度は摩擦係数により制限される。すなわち、A=F/Mであり、Aは加速度、Fは車に加えられる力、Mは車の質量である。加速のための力Fは、摩擦係数により制限されるので、加速度はCslide及びCstartによって制限されることになる。
内燃機関又は電動機を有する車両のための従来の牽引技術では、さまざまな道路条件下で最適なエネルギ効率を用いて駆動輪にトルクを適用する能力が制限されていた。
また、本開示の実施形態の他の特徴は、本明細書の発明の詳細な説明、図面及び特許請求の範囲から明らかとなるであろう。
さらに本発明の態様は、後述される発明の詳細な説明を添付図面と合わせて読むことでより完全に理解できるであろう。図面はもともと例示であり、制限するものではない。図面は必ずしも尺度を合わせておらず、重点は本開示の原理を示すことに置かれている。

Claims (13)
- 車両の1又は複数の駆動輪に加えられるパワーを制御するシステムであって、
パワーを供給するように構成された第1の電動機と、
第1の電動機からパワーを受け取るように構成された第1の車輪と、
(i)第1の車輪用の加速コマンド及び第1の車輪の車輪スリップ検出信号を入力として受け取り、(ii)第1の車輪を駆動する第1の電動機のための第1の制御信号を出力として生成するように構成されたコントローラであって、第1の制御信号は、電流を第1の電動機へ流れさせるための固定持続時間及び固定周波数の第1のパルス列からなるタイミングサイクル含み、該第1のパルス列の各パルスの固定持続時間を、加速コマンドの受信によって第1の電動機にトルクが印加されてから車輪スリップ検出信号を受信するまでの時間を監視して記憶することにより決定し、隣接するパルス間のインターバルを、印加されたトルクを車輪スリップ検出信号に応答してオフにしてから第1の車輪の回転が回復するまでの時間を監視して記憶することにより決定する、コントローラと、
第1の電動機に接続された第1の電流スイッチであって、第1の制御信号を受け取り、該第1の制御信号に含まれる第1のパルス列のパルスの固定持続時間にON状態となって第1の電動機に電流を供給し、第1のパルス列の隣接するパルス間のインターバルにOFF状態に切り替えられる電流スイッチと、
を備えることを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項1記載のシステムにおいて、コントローラは、第1のパルス列の固定周波数及び固定持続時間を調整するように構成されていることを特徴とするシステム。
- 請求項1又は2記載のシステムにおいて、該システムはさらに、
パワーを供給するように構成された第2の電動機と、
第2の電動機からパワーを受け取るよう構成された第2の車輪と、
第2の電動機に接続された第2の電流スイッチと
を備え、
コントローラは、第2の車輪用の加速コマンド及び第2の車輪の車輪スリップ検出信号を入力として受け取り、第2の車輪を駆動する第2の電動機のための第2の制御信号を出力として生成するよう構成され、第2の制御信号は、電流を第2の電動機へ流れさせるための固定時間及び固定周波数の第2のパルス列からなるタイミングサイクルを含み、該第2のパルス列の各パルスの固定持続時間及び隣接するパルス間のインターバルが、第1の電動機用の第1の制御信号の第1のパルス列の場合と同様に決定され、
第2の電流スイッチは、コントローラからの第2の制御信号を受け取り、該第2の制御信号の第2のパルス列のパルスの固定持続時間にON状態となって第2の電動機に電流を供給し、第2のパルス列の隣接するパルス間のインターバルにOFF状態に切り替えられる
ことを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項3記載のシステムにおいて、該システムはさらに、
パワーを供給するように構成された第3の電動機と、
第3の電動機からパワーを受け取るよう構成された第3の車輪と、
第3電動機に接続された第3の電流スイッチと
を備え、
コントローラは、第3の車輪用の加速コマンド及び第3の車輪の車輪スリップ検出信号を入力として受け取り、第3の車輪を駆動する第3の電動機のための第3の制御信号を出力として生成するよう構成され、第3の制御信号は、電流を第3の電動機へ流れさせるための固定時間及び固定周波数の第3のパルス列からなるタイミングサイクルを含み、該第3のパルス列の各パルスの固定持続時間及び隣接するパルス間のインターバルが、第1の電動機用の第1の制御信号の第1のパルス列の場合と同様に決定され、
第3の電流スイッチは、コントローラからの第3の制御信号を受け取り、該第3の制御信号の第3のパルス列のパルスの固定持続時間にON状態となって第3の電動機に電流を供給し、第3のパルス列の隣接するパルス間のインターバルにOFF状態に切り替えられる
ことを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項4記載のシステムにおいて、該システムはさらに、
パワーを供給するように構成された第4の電動機と、
第4の電動機からパワーを受け取るよう構成された第4の車輪と、
第4電動機に接続された第4の電流スイッチと
を備え、
コントローラは、第4の車輪用の加速コマンド及び第4の車輪の車輪スリップ検出信号を入力として受け取り、第4の車輪を駆動する第4の電動機のための第4の制御信号を出力として生成するよう構成され、第4の制御信号は、電流を第4の電動機へ流れさせるための固定時間及び固定周波数の第4のパルス列からなるタイミングサイクルを含み、該第4のパルス列の各パルスの固定持続時間及び隣接するパルス間のインターバルが、第1の電動機用の第1の制御信号の第1のパルス列の場合と同様に決定され、
第4の電流スイッチは、コントローラからの第4の制御信号を受け取り、該第4の制御信号の第4のパルス列のパルスの固定持続時間にON状態となって第4の電動機に電流を供給し、第4のパルス列の隣接するパルス間のインターバルにOFF状態に切り替えられる
ことを特徴とするシステム。 - 請求項5記載のシステムにおいて、車両は4輪駆動車であり、コントローラは、同期された4輪駆動動作のために、第1〜第4の電動機用の第1〜第4のパルス列の同期を提供するように構成されていることを特徴とするシステム。
- 請求項3〜6いずれかに記載のシステムにおいて、コントローラは、車輪に供給される同期されたパワーパルスに含むための許容される最小牽引力を、どの車輪が有しているかを検出するように構成されていることを特徴とするシステム。
- 電動車両の1又は複数の車輪のそれぞれに結合された1又は複数の電動機に加えられるパワーをコントローラにより制御する方法であって、該方法は、
1又は複数の車輪の各々用の加速コマンドを受け取るステップと、
受信した加速コマンドに基づいて1又は複数の電動機の各々にトルクを印加するステップと、
トルクが電動機に印加されてから該電動機に接続された車輪の車輪スリップ検出信号を受信するまでの時間を監視し、該時間を固定持続時間として記憶するステップと、
車輪スリップ検出信号を受信したときに、印加されたトルクをオフにするステップと、
トルクをオフにしたときから車輪スリップ検出信号が消滅するまでの時間を監視し、該時間を隣接するパルス間のインターバルとして記憶するステップと、
所望の加速率に応じたタイミングサイクル内で、記憶された固定持続時間のパルス及び隣接するパルス間のインターバルを用いてパルス列を生成し、該パルス列を含む制御信号を生成するステップと、
それぞれが1又は複数の車輪にそれぞれ接続された1又は複数の電動機に接続された1又は複数の電流スイッチの入力へ制御信号を供給して、電流スイッチを該制御信号のパルス列の固定持続時間中にON状態にして1又は複数の電動機に電流を供給し、隣接するパルス間のインターバル中に該1又は複数の電動機をOFF状態にするステップと
を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項8記載の方法において、電気的に駆動される車輪は2つの車輪又は4つの車輪であることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項8又は9記載の方法において、該方法はさらに、制御信号のパルス列の固定周波数及び固定持続時間を調整するステップを含むことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項9記載の方法において、制御信号を供給するステップは、同期された2輪駆動又は4輪駆動動作のために、2つの車輪又は4つの車輪に接続された2つの電動機又は4つの電動機に提供される電流の同期を提供するステップを含むことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項11記載の方法において、該方法はさらに、車輪に供給される同期されたパワーパルスに含むための許容される最小牽引力を、どの車輪が有しているかを検出するステップを含むことを特徴とする方法。
- コンピュータ読み取り可能な記憶媒体に記憶されたコンピュータプログラムであって、複数の命令がそこに記憶されており、これら命令が処理システムにより実行されると、処理システムが、請求項8〜12いずれかに記載の方法を実行することを特徴とするコンピュータプログラム。
