Description
Sasol Corp.からCatapal Bとして市販されているベーマイトからなる約42%の固体投入物を、硝酸および有機添加剤の少数派内容物を含んでいる58重量%の水と組み合わせたゲルの形態の混合物を得た。ゲルは、約3×103〜4×104Pa・sの粘度および3×104〜2×105Paの貯蔵弾性率を有していた。
成型ブランクが、約7〜9mmの長さ、7〜9mmの幅、および約0.8mmの深さを有する四芒星形の二次元形状を定める開口を利用している点を除き、実施例1のプロセスを使用した。開口は、約25度の先端角度と、約250度の3つのアームの間の内角とを有していた。図66Aが、実施例2から形成された代表的な粒子の画像である。本体が5未満のカール係数を有していた。
成型ブランクが、約5〜6mmの長さ、5〜6mmの幅、および約0.8mmの深さを有する十字形の二次元形状を定める開口を利用している点を除き、実施例1のプロセスを使用した。アームが、約2mmの幅および約1mmの長さを有していた。図67が、実施例3から形成された代表的な粒子の画像である。本体が5未満のカール係数を有していた。
Claims (20)
- 成形研磨粒子であって、
長さ(l)と、幅(w)と、高さ(h)とを有する本体を含み、前記本体は、底面と、上面と、前記底面と前記上面との間を延びる側面とを備え、前記底面は十字形状を備え、前記上面は前記底面と比べて異なる形状を備える、ことを特徴とする成形研磨粒子。 - 前記上面の前記形状は、三芒星形、四芒星形、十字形、多角形、楕円形、数字、ギリシャ文字、ラテン文字、ロシア文字、多角形の形状の組み合わせを有する複雑な形状、およびこれらの組み合わせで構成されるグループから選択される、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の成形研磨粒子。
- 前記上面は、丸みを帯びた四角形を備える、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の成形研磨粒子。
- 前記丸みを帯びた四角形は、丸みを帯びた角を含み、前記丸みを帯びた角は、前記底面の前記十字形状のアームの間に位置付けられている、ことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の成形研磨粒子。
- 前記上面はうねりを含む、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の成形研磨粒子。
- 前記底面は、中央部から延びる4つのアームを有する十字形状を規定し、前記アームのうちの少なくとも1つは、前記アームの長さの中間点において、前記中央部での前記アームの幅より小さい幅を備える、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の成形研磨粒子。
- 前記4つのアームのうちの第1のアームは第1の先端幅を備え、前記第1の先端幅は前記中間点での幅の約90%以下である、ことを特徴とする請求項6に記載の成形研磨粒子。
- 前記側面は、約90度より大きい角度を定める内角で互いに接合された第1部分と第2部分とを含む、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の成形研磨粒子。
- 前記内角は約320度以下である、ことを特徴とする請求項8に記載の成形研磨粒子。
- 前記内角は、おおよそ90度と270度との間の範囲内にある、ことを特徴とする請求項8に記載の成形研磨粒子。
- 前記側面は、前記底面の一部分に交わる割れ領域を含む、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の成形研磨粒子。
- 前記割れ領域は、前記本体の前記上面の表面粗さより大きい表面粗さを有する、ことを特徴とする請求項11に記載の成形研磨粒子。
- 前記割れ領域は、前記底面から延びる前記本体の一部分を定め、前記割れ領域は、鋸歯状のエッジを定める、ことを特徴とする請求項11に記載の成形研磨粒子。
- 前記割れ領域は、前記底面のエッジおよび前記側面に沿って延びている不規則な形状の突起部および溝を定める、ことを特徴とする請求項11に記載の成形研磨粒子。
- 前記十字形状は、第1のアーム、第2のアーム、第3のアームおよび第4のアームを含む、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の成形研磨粒子。
- 前記第1のアームは第1のアーム形状を備え、前記第2のアームは第2のアーム形状を備え、前記第3のアームは第3のアーム形状を備え、前記第4のアームは第4のアーム形状を備え、前記第1のアーム形状は、前記第2のアーム形状と実質的に異なる、ことを特徴とする請求項15に記載の成形研磨粒子。
- 前記第1のアームは、不規則な形状の外形を備える、ことを特徴とする請求項15に記載の成形研磨粒子。
- 前記第1のアームは、前記第1のアームの幅より短い長さを備える、ことを特徴とする請求項15に記載の成形研磨粒子。
- 前記長さは、前記第1のアームの幅の約90%以下である、ことを特徴とする請求項18に記載の成形研磨粒子。
- 前記本体は、裏打ちに固定され、コーティングされた研磨物品の一部である、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の成形研磨粒子。
