Description
Sasol Corp.からCatapal Bとして市販されているベーマイトからなる約42%の固体投入物を、硝酸および有機添加剤の少数派内容物を含んでいる58重量%の水と組み合わせたゲルの形態の混合物を得た。ゲルは、約3×103〜4×104Pa・sの粘度および3×104〜2×105Paの貯蔵弾性率を有していた。
成型ブランクが、約7〜9mmの長さ、7〜9mmの幅、および約0.8mmの深さを有する四芒星形の二次元形状を定める開口を利用している点を除き、実施例1のプロセスを使用した。開口は、約25度の先端角度と、約250度の3つのアームの間の内角とを有していた。図66Aが、実施例2から形成された代表的な粒子の画像である。本体が5未満のカール係数を有していた。
成型ブランクが、約5〜6mmの長さ、5〜6mmの幅、および約0.8mmの深さを有する十字形の二次元形状を定める開口を利用している点を除き、実施例1のプロセスを使用した。アームが、約2mmの幅および約1mmの長さを有していた。図67が、実施例3から形成された代表的な粒子の画像である。本体が5未満のカール係数を有していた。
Claims (15)
- セラミック材料から成る成形研磨粒子であって、
前記成形研磨粒子は、長さ(l)と、幅(w)と、高さ(h)とを有する本体を備え、該本体が、中央部から延びる第1のアーム、第2のアーム、および第3のアームを有する三芒星形を備えており、前記第1のアーム、第2のアーム、および第3のアームが、180度未満の総角度を定めており、
前記本体が、10以下のカール係数を備え、該カール係数が、アームの一端における前記本体の最大高さ(ht)の内部における前記本体の高さの最小寸法(hi)と比べた比として定義される、
成形研磨粒子。 - 前記アームのうちの少なくとも1つが、中央部における幅よりも小さい中間点幅を備えている請求項1に記載の成形研磨粒子。
- 前記中間点幅が、前記中央部における幅の90%以下である請求項2に記載の成形研磨粒子。
- 前記本体が、先端幅を備えており、該先端幅が、前記中間点幅の90%以下である請求項2に記載の成形研磨粒子。
- 前記本体が、前記第1のアームと前記第2のアームとの間および底面と上面との間を延びる第1の側面をさらに備え、該第1の側面が、弓形の外形を備える請求項1に記載の成形研磨粒子。
- 前記第1の側面が、或る内角において互いに接続された第1の部分および第2の部分を備えており、前記内角が、90度よりも大きい角度を定めている請求項5に記載の成形研磨粒子。

- 前記本体が、底面を定めているエッジの少なくとも一部分と交わる割れ領域を有している側面を備えている請求項1に記載の成形研磨粒子。
