- 前記個別に制御された複数の光源は、前記一次変調パネルに向かって主に反射される光を含む、請求項7に記載の表示制御装置。
- 前記近似画像は、半値全幅が1.0×d2よりも小さい分布関数を有する光を含み、d2は光源間の距離である、請求項7に記載の表示制御装置。
- 前記一次変調パネル及び前記背面光は、デジタル・ビデオ・プロジェクタを含むディスプレイに配置されており、前記近似画像は、個別に制御された複数の光源からの光を含み、各光源は、半値全幅が0.3×d2〜3.0×d2の範囲にある分布関数を有し、d2は光源間の距離であり、前記個別に制御された複数の光源及び前記一次変調パネルの分解能は同一であり、前記個別に制御された複数の光源からの光は、前記近似画像を前記一次変調パネルにおいて円滑に変化させるように混合されており、前記表示制御装置は、前記一次変調パネルの変調よりも粗い強度ステップで前記背面光を調整するように構成された第1制御信号を生成するように構成されており、前記背面光の前記複数の光源の輝度レベルは、前記第1制御信号に従って、前記複数の光源のオン及びオフ時間を変化させるパルス幅変調によって得られる、請求項1に記載の表示制御装置。
- 前記背面光は、前記一次変調パネルの変調よりも粗い強度ステップ及び低い分解能で調整され、前記背面光及び一次変調パネルは、前記背面光及び一次変調パネルの間に配置された拡散器を含むディスプレイを含み、前記背面光の隣接する画素間の光の混合は、前記近似画像を一つの画素からその隣の画素へ円滑に変化させ、前記背面光は、半値全幅が0.3×d2〜3×d2の範囲にあり、かつ1.0×d2よりも小さい分布関数を備え、d2は光源間の距離であり、前記一次変調パネルは、パネル型変調器を含み、前記背面光は、異なるタイプの変調器により生成される、請求項1に記載の表示制御装置。
- 前記背面光は、前記一次変調パネルに向かって反射される光を含み、前記光は、前記一次変調パネルの後側かつ端部の外側から発生している、請求項11に記載の表示制御装置。
- 前記背面光は、前記一次変調パネルに向かって反射される光を含み、前記光は、前記一次変調パネルの後側かつ外周の外側から発生しており、その分布関数は、1.0×d2とほぼ等しいが、1.0×d2よりも小さい半値全幅を有する、請求項11に記載の表示制御装置。
- 前記分布関数は、1.0×d2とほぼ等しいが、1.0×d2よりも小さい半値全幅を有する、請求項2に記載の表示制御装置。
