Description
本願は、2013年7月30日に出願された米国仮特許出願第61/860、203号および2014年4月14日に出願された米国仮特許出願号61/979、248号に基づく優先権を主張する。それぞれの特許出願の全文を本願に参考のため援用する。
現在の二段/多段変調器プロジェクタ表示システムは、投影スクリーンに最終的な投影画像を形成するために照射光が通過する、2つ以上の変調段を備えている。大抵において、そのような変調段は機械的なビームステアリング構造、例えば、DMD、MEMSまたはある機械作動ミラーの組を備えている。図1は、機械的ビームステアリング変調器を用いる二段/多段変調器プロジェクタ表示システムの実施形態を示す。

(4)「SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ACCURATELY REPRESENTING HIGH CONTRAST IMAGERY ON HIGH DYNAMIC RANGE DISPLAY SYSTEMS」という表題で、2013年5月2日に公開された、Shields等の米国特許出願第20130106923号、
(5)「HIGH DYNAMIC RANGE DISPLAYS USING FILTERLESS LCD(S) FOR INCREASING CONTRAST AND RESOLUTION」という表題で、2011年11月17日に公開された、Erinjippurath等の米国特許出願第20110279749号
そして
(6)「REFLECTORS WITH SPATIALLY VARYING REFLECTANCE/ABSORPTION GRADIENTS FOR COLOR AND LUMINANCE COMPENSATION」という表題で、2012年5月31日に公開された、Kwongの米国特許出願第20120133689号
を含む同一出願人にかかる特許および特許出願に記述されている。これらすべての特許および特許出願の全文を本願に援用する。

(5)「LASER IMAGE PROJECTION SYSTEM APPLICABLE TO THE MARKING OF OBJECTS AND METHOD FOR GENERATING HOLOGRAMS」という表題で、2012年7月26日に公開された、De Echaniz等の米国特許出願第20120188620号
のような、プロジェクタ表示システムを構築するためのホログラフィック投影の利用および照射光のフーリエ性質を開示する文献がある。これらすべての特許出願の全文を本願に援用する。
機械的変調器に対するものとして、非機械的ビームステアリング変調器は、MEMS素子を必要とせず、代わりにLCD変調器のようなより一般的なイメージング素子を活用してもよい。特に、可動ミラー配置を備えない変調器段を少なくとも1つ以上持つことが望ましくあり得る。
上述したように、ホログラフィックデータは、オンボードまたはオフラインプロセスで入力画像データから得られてもよい。図3は、繰り返し処理システム300(Gerchberg−Saxtonアルゴリズムと呼ばれ、http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerchberg%E2%80%93Saxton_algorithmに記載がある)の実施形態を示す。繰り返し処理システム300によって、ホログラフィックデータは入力画像データから得られてもよい。
ホログラフィック手段によるビームステアリングとは別に、二段/多段変調投影表示システムに適切たり得る他の非機械的ビームステアリングモジュールも存在する。

Claims (3)
- プロジェクタ表示システムであって、
光源と、
コントローラと、
前記光源により照射され、かつ、ホログラフィックイメージングモジュールを有する第1ホログラフィック変調器と、
前記第1ホログラフィック変調器から伝達するように構成されたレンズと、
前記レンズからの光により照射され、かつ、前記レンズからの光を変調することができ、複数のミラーを有する第2変調器と、
を備えるプロジェクタ表示システムであって、
前記コントローラは、
プロセッサと、
前記プロセッサに対応付けられたメモリであって、かつ、前記プロセッサがプロセッサ読み取り可能な命令を読み込む時に、以下の命令:
画像データを受け取り、
前記第1ホログラフィック変調器が、前記光源からの光のうち所望の部分を前記第2変調器上へ割り当て得るように、前記第1ホログラフィック変調器へ制御信号を送信し、
前記光源からの光の前記所望の部分が変調されることにより、前記所望の画像を投影用に形成するように、前記第2変調器へ制御信号を送信すること、
をプロセッサに実行させるプロセッサ読み取り可能な命令をさらに含むメモリと、
をさらに有し、
前記レンズからの光は、投影画像内の所望部分のハイライト照射を実行できる、プロジェクタ表示システム。 - 前記第1ホログラフィック変調器は、受け取った画像データにGerchberg−Saxtonアルゴリズムを実行する前記プロセッサから受け取ったホログラフィックデータを表示できる、請求項1に記載の表示システム。
- 前記レンズは、前記第1ホログラフィック変調器から受け取った光に対し、フーリエ変換を実質的に及ぼすことができる、請求項1に記載の表示システム。
