Description
図4は、改善された色域を有するディスプレイシステム(400)の一実施形態である。ディスプレイシステム400は、図1のディスプレイシステムと概ね同様に構成されているが、図1に加えて、ディフューザ/光シェイパ106と第1のポラライザ108との間に配置された色ノッチフィルタ402を有する。色ノッチフィルタのこの位置は、これが、最も光の視準が合う光学経路の部分であるときに望ましい。色ノッチフィルタは、この適用のために光学経路の他の部分に置いてもよいことが認識されよう。
色ノッチフィルタの追加による図1に示されるディスプレイシステムの色域の改善とは別に、異なる、おそらくはよりエネルギー効率の良い設計を有する他のディスプレイシステムに同じ改善を与えることが望ましいことがある。
Claims (6)
- ディスプレイシステムにおいて、
光を光学経路に放射するエミッタと、
前記エミッタから放射された前記光を拡散するディフューザと、
前記ディフューザから拡散された前記光を受け取り、異なる色通過帯域の異なる色を放射することによるクロストークを軽減し、特定の色域を提供するように構成される色ノッチフィルタと、
を備え、
前記色ノッチフィルタは、所望の色域性能を有する当該ディスプレイシステムに影響を与えるよう前記色ノッチフィルタの通過帯域をシフトするように構成され、結果として得られる光の帯域は全体として対称ではなく、結果として得られる光の帯域の少なくとも1つは、前記色ノッチフィルタへの同じ色入力のピーク輝度を中心としておらず、
前記エミッタが、前記ディフューザ及び前記色ノッチフィルタを通して光を伝達するように構成される第1のモジュレータを備え、
前記色ノッチフィルタが、当該ディスプレイシステムの所望の色域を生成するよう、前記第1のモジュレータ及び第2のモジュレータとともに光に対して畳み込みを実行するために前記光学経路内に配置され、
当該ディスプレイシステムは更に、
LCDパネルを備え、前記LCDパネルの各色フィルタが隣接する色フィルタと独立に動作するよう色重複がないように、前記第1のモジュレータからの光を変調する前記第2のモジュレータと、
入力イメージデータを受信し、イメージをレンダリングするよう前記第1のモジュレータ及び前記第2のモジュレータに制御信号を送信するコントローラと
を備える、ディスプレイシステム。 - 当該ディスプレイシステムは、P3色域、Adobe RGB及びRec709を備えるグループのうちのいずれか1つの色域を実質的に備える、請求項1に記載のディスプレイシステム。
- ディスプレイシステムにおいて、
UV光放射要素とUV光変換要素とを備える複数のOLED要素を備えるエミッタと、
UV光を前記UV光変換要素へと反射し、前記エミッタからの可視光を伝達するUV光リフレクタと、 前記UV光リフレクタからの光を変調するLCDモジュレータと、
前記LCDモジュレータからの光をフィルタリングして、該光の異なる色スペクトル間のクロストークを低減させる色ノッチフィルタと、
入力イメージデータを受信し、イメージをレンダリングするよう前記LCDモジュレータに制御信号を送信するコントローラと
を備え、
前記色ノッチフィルタは、所望の色域性能を有する当該ディスプレイシステムに影響を与えるよう前記色ノッチフィルタの通過帯域をシフトするように構成され、結果として得られる光の帯域は全体として対称ではなく、結果として得られる光の帯域の少なくとも1つは、前記色ノッチフィルタへの同じ色入力のピーク輝度を中心としない、ディスプレイシステム。 - 前記色ノッチフィルタ及び前記LCDモジュレータは、前記エミッタからの光に対して畳み込みを実行して当該ディスプレイシステムの所望の色域を生成する、請求項3に記載のディスプレイシステム。
- 各OLED要素は更に、
UVエミッタと、
前記UVエミッタに接続され、UV光を生成するように作動信号を提供する、制御ラインと、
前記UV光を吸収して前記UV光を可視光に変換する蛍光物質を備える前記UV光変換要素と
を備える、請求項3に記載のディスプレイシステム。 - 前記複数のOLED要素は、白色光反射面上に構築され、前記白色光反射面は、当該ディスプレイシステムの光学経路内へと光を反射する、請求項5に記載のディスプレイシステム。
