Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.磁気記憶装置の読取り信号のサンプルを表すディジタル化信号を受け取り、 かつ信号によって表されるディジタル・データを回復する集積回路同期読取りチ ャネルにおいて、 記憶媒体遷移を示すディジタル化読取り信号の振幅パルスを検出し、かつ振幅 パルスを表す、2進ディジタル信号のシーケンスである出力信号を生成する遷移 検出器と、 ディジタル化読取り信号および遷移検出器の出力信号に応じて、読取り信号の ディジタル化サンプルのタイミングを制御するタイミング制御信号を供給するタ イミング回復回路と、 ディジタル化読取り信号に応答して、前記ディジタル化読取り信号のストリー ムを受け取り、信号によって表される可能性が高い対応する2進ディジタル信号 シーケンスを判定するシーケンス検出器であって、2進ディジタル信号のシーケ ンスを構成する経路メモリ手段と、受け取った読取り信号を1組の所定の理想的 な読取り信号と比較する比較手段と、受け取った読取り信号に類似する前記1組 の理想的な読取り信号を選択し、選択された理想的な読取り信号に対応する経路 メモリ手段からの2進ディジタル信号のシーケンスを選択する選択手段とを含む シーケンス検出器と、 シーケンス検出器からの選択された2進ディジタル信号シーケンスを復号する ことによってラン・レングス制限復号出力を与え、あるいは、遷移検出器からの 2進ディジタル信号のシーケンスを復号することによってラン・レングス制限復 号出力を供給するRLL(d,k)デコーダと、 シーケンス検出器からの2進ディジタル信号のシーケンスまたは遷移検出器か らの2進ディジタル信号のシーケンスをRLL(d,k)デコーダに向けて送る 制御手段とを備えることを特徴とする集積回路同期読取りチャネル。 2.さらに、(i)シーケンス検出器、(ii)遷移検出器、および(iii) タイミング回復回路のうちの少なくとも1つによってディジタル化読取り信号を 受け取る前に前記ディジタル化読取り信号を修正するディジタル・パルス整形フ ィルタ回路を備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の集積回路同期読取りチャ ネル。 3.さらに、ディジタル・パルス整形フィルタ回路によって課される、遷移検出 器またはタイミング回復回路とディジタル化読取り信号の結合を、ディジタル・ パルス整形フィルタ回路によって課される、タイミング回復回路または遷移検出 器とディジタル化読取り信号の結合の遅延に一致するように遅延させる遅延手段 を備えることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の集積回路同期読取りチャネル。 4.ディジタル・パルス整形フィルタ回路が、可変フィルタ・パラメータを含む ことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の集積回路同期読取りチャネル。 5.ディジタル・パルス整形フィルタ回路が、プログラム可能なフィルタ・パラ メータを使用してディジタル化読取り信号を修正することを特徴とする請求項2 に記載の集積回路同期読取りチャネル。 6.さらに、ディジタル化読取り信号を、シーケンス検出器によって処理される 前にフィルタするスペクトル平滑フィルタを備えることを特徴とする請求項1に 記載の集積回路同期読取りチャネル。 7.シーケンス検出器が、一度に2つのディジタル化読取り信号を処理し、2つ のディジタル化読取り信号がそれぞれ、2つの連続チャネル・ビット時間中の磁 気記憶装置の読取り信号のディジタル化サンプルを表すことを特徴とする請求項 1に記載の集積回路同期読取りチャネル。 8.磁気記憶装置に記憶された磁極の遷移に応答して読取り信号を受け取り、信 号によって表されるディジタル・データを回復する集積回路同期読取りチャネル において、 読取り信号に応答して、前記読取り信号中の2進ディジタル信号タイミングを 回復するタイミング制御信号を供給するタイミング回復回路と、 読取り信号に応答して、読取り信号を受け取り、かつ最小ラン・レングス制約 d>0であり前記読取り信号によって表される可能性が高い対応する2進ディジ タル信号シーケンスを判定するシーケンス検出器であって、2進ディジタル信号 のシーケンスが構成される経路メモリ手段と、受け取った読取り信号を1組の理 想的な読取り信号と比較する比較手段と、受け取った読取り信号に類似する理想 的な読取り信号を選択し、したがって、選択された理想的な読取り信号に対応す る経路メモリ中の2進ディジタル信号シーケンスを選択する選択手段とを備える シーケンス検出器とを備えることを特徴とする集積回路同期読取りチャネル。 9.d=1であることを特徴とする請求項8に記載の集積回路同期読取りチャネ ル。 10.前記タイミング回復回路が、 現ビット・タイミング誤差量に応答してタイミング誤差測定信号を供給するタ イミング誤差測定回路と、 タイミング誤差測定回路から受け取ったタイミング誤差測定信号に応答して現 タイミングを補正するタイミング補正回路と、 タイミング補正回路がいつタイミング誤差測定信号に応答するかを決定する検 知回路とを備えることを特徴とする請求項8に記載の集積回路同期読取りチャネ ル。 11.検知回路が、記憶媒体上の磁気遷移を示す受け取った読取り信号の振幅中 のパルスを検出する遷移検出器であることを特徴とする請求項10に記載の集積 回路同期読取りチャネル。 12.さらに、シーケンス検出器からの2進ディジタル信号のシーケンスまたは 検知回路からの出力を選択する制御回路を備えることを特徴とする請求項10に 記載の集積回路同期読取りチャネル。 13.さらに、シーケンス検出器からの2進ディジタル信号のシーケンスを符号 化することによってラン・レングス制限復号出力を供給するRLL(d,k)デ コーダを備えることを特徴とする請求項8に記載の集積回路同期読取りチャネル 。 14.RLL(d,k)デコーダがELL(1,7)デコーダであることを特徴 とする請求項13に記載の集積回路同期読取りチャネル。 15.タイミング回復回路が、ディジタル位相検出とディジタル・タイミング・ ループ・フィルタとを含むことを特徴とする請求項8に記載の集積回路同期読取 りチャネル。 16.タイミング誤差測定回路が、ディジタル位相検出器を備え、タイミング補 正回路が、ディジタル・タイミング・ループ・フィルタを備えることを特徴とす る集積回路同期読取りチャネル。 17.タイミング補正回路が、ビット・タイミングを決定するクロックの周波数 を直接制御するために、ビット・タイミング位相誤差に応じてディジタル周波数 制御信号を供給することを特徴とする請求項15および16に記載の集積回路同 期読取りチャネル。 18.ディジタル・タイミング・ループ・フィルタの係数がプログラム可能であ ることを特徴とする請求項15または16に記載の集積回路同期読取りチャネル 。 19.さらに、読取り信号に応答して利得制御信号を供給するために前記読取り タル化読取り信号を一度に処理することを特徴とする請求項36に記載のディジ タル集積回路。 62.読取り信号が、磁気記憶装置の読取り信号のディジタル化サンプルを表す ディジタル化読取り信号であり、タイミング回復回路が、2連続チャネル・ビッ ト時間中の磁気記憶装置の読取り信号のディジタル化サンプルを表す2つのディ ジタル化読取り信号を一度に処理することを特徴とする請求項36に記載のディ ジタル集積回路。 63.さらに、磁気記憶装置に書き込むべきディジタル・データをRLLコード 化するRLLエンコーダを備えることを特徴とする請求項36に記載のディジタ ル集積回路。 64.さらに、 プロセッサが情報を読み取ることができ、かつプロセッサが情報を書き込むこ とができるプロセッサ・インタフェースおよび複数の制御レジスタと、 直列データ線と直列クロック線とを有する直列インタフェースとを備えること を特徴とする請求項36に記載のディジタル集積回路。 65.さらに、 集積回路の出力として、 i)記憶媒体への書込み時に、磁気記憶装置に書き込むべき2ビット幅形のデ ィジタル・データを供給し、 ii)記憶媒体への書込みを行わないときに直列データ線および直列クロック 線の出力を選択的に供給する、 多重化回路を備えることを特徴とする請求項64に記載のディジタル集積回路 。 66.直列インタフェースが、マップ済み外部レジスタの内容を直列データ線上 で直列形で読み取る回路を含むことを特徴とする請求項64に記載のディジタル 集積回路。 67.直列インタフェースが、プロセッサ・インタフェースに与えられた要求に 応答して、選択的に a)1つのマップ済み外部レジスタの内容を直列データ線上で直列形で読み取 り、次いで前記マップ済み外部レジスタの内容をプロセッサ・インタフェースに 供給し、 b)前の要求で指定されたマップ済み外部レジスタの内容をプロセッサ・イン タフェースに供給し、次いで、現要求で指定された第2のマップ済み外部レジス タの内容を直列線上で直列形で読み取ることを特徴とする請求項66に記載のデ ィジタル集積回路。 68.プロセッサが、ディジタル集積回路中のマップ済み外部レジスタのアドレ スに書き込むことによって、指定されたマップ済み外部レジスタに制御情報を書 き込むことができ、直列インタフェースが、プロセッサがマップ済み外部レジス タのアドレスに書き込むたびに、ディジタル集積回路中のマップ済み外部レジス タのアドレスに書き込まれたデータを、直列データ線上で直列形で、指定された マップ済み外部レジスタに供給する回路を含むことを特徴とする請求項66に記 載のディジタル集積回路。 69.磁気記憶装置に書き込むべきディジタル・データをRLLコード化するR LLエンコーダと、 プロセッサが情報を読み取ることができ、かつプロセッサが情報を書き込むこ とができる、プロセッサ・インタフェースおよび複数の制御レジスタと、 直列データ線と直列クロック線とを有する直列インタフェースと、 集積回路の出力として、 i)記憶媒体への書込み時に2ビット幅形のRLLエンコーダの出力を供給し 、 ii)記憶媒体への書込みを行わないときに直列データ線および直列クロック 線の出力を選択的に供給する、 多重化回路とを備えることを特徴とするディジタル集積回路。 70.直列インタフェースが、マップ済み外部レジスタの内容を直列データ線上 で直列形で読み取る回路を含むことを特徴とする請求項69に記載のディジタル 集積回路。 71.直列インタフェースが、プロセッサ・インタフェースに供給された要求に 応答して、選択的に a)1つのマップ済み外部レジスタの内容を直列データ線上で直列形で読み取 り、次いで前記マップ済み外部レジスタの内容をプロセッサ・インタフェースに 供給し、 b)前の要求で指定されたマップ済み外部レジスタの内容をプロセッサ・イン タフェースに供給し、次いで、現要求で指定された第2のマップ済み外部レジス タの内容を直列線上で直列形で読み取ることを特徴とする請求項70に記載のデ ィジタル集積回路。 72.プロセッサが、ディジタル集積回路中のマップ済み外部レジスタのアドレ スに書き込むことによって、指定されたマップ済み外部レジスタに制御情報を書 き込むことができ、直列インタフェースが、プロセッサがマップ済み外部レジス タのアドレスに書き込むたびに、ディジタル集積回路中のマップ済み外部レジス タのアドレスに書き込まれたデータを、直列データ線上で直列形で、指定された マップ済み外部レジスタに供給する回路を含むことを特徴とする請求項69に記 載のディジタル集積回路。
