本願は、2007年12月21日に出願された米国仮特許出願第61/016,305号(参照によってその全体が本明細書に援用される)の利益を主張する。
、すなわち車両の速度と関連するデータを有する車両速度データ構造503を含む。テーブル331は、エンコーダ位置と関連するデータを有するエンコーダ位置データ構造505をさらに含む。車両速度データ構造503及びエンコーダ位置データ構造505は、テーブル331の列及び行を形成するものとして互いに対応する。目標入力速度の所望の所定のマップが与えられると、可能なSRデータ構造509が生成される。テーブル331の一部である必要はないケイデンスデータ構造511が、車両速度データ構造503と関連する車両速度の範囲にわたってケイデンスを制御する方法を示す。図5Bにおいて分かるように、ケイデンスは第1のレベル(すなわち74.7rpm)まで上昇可能であり、SRは、出力速度が0rpmから100rpmへ変化する場合0.6から0.9に調整される。ケイデンスは、51.1rpmに低下してから、出力速度が153rpmになる前に再び74.7rpmに上昇可能であり、SRは0.9から1.4に調整され、ここでケイデンスは48.8に低下する。出力速度が200rpmに上昇すると、ケイデンスは64rpmに上昇し、SRは1.4で一定のままである。これは、ケイデンスが3速度比シフトスキームに対して制御されるように変速機を自動制御する一例である。もちろん、他の自動モード、例えば4速、5速、6速、8速又は9速等に対して同様のマップを提供することができる。加えて、ケイデンス範囲は、例えば所与の車両速度又は車両速度範囲に関して、マッピングを介して、50rpm〜75rpmではなく65rpm〜90rpmの範囲等でシフトイベントを移動させることによって調整することができる。いくつかの実施形態では、マップは、出力速度とケイデンスとの間に任意の所望の関係(例えば直線、指数関数的、反比例等)を有することができる。
Claims (9)
- 自転車のボール遊星連続可変変速機を自動制御する方法であって、
目標とするユーザのペダル漕ぎ速度と関連する入力を受け取るステップと、
前記自転車の速度を求めるステップと、
前記目標とするユーザのペダル漕ぎ速度及び前記求めた自転車の速度に基づいて前記自転車の速度と関連する目標のエンコーダ位置を特定するステップと、
前記連続可変変速機の一意の速度比と関連する傾斜角度に動力伝達ボールを選択的に傾けるために、前記目標のエンコーダ位置を達成すべく、サーボを作動するステップと、
を含む、方法。 - 目標の速度比が、前記連続可変変速機が提供することができる最小の速度比よりも低い場合には、当該最小の速度比に対応する一意のエンコーダ位置が前記目標のエンコーダ位置として特定され、
前記目標の速度比が、前記連続可変変速機が提供することができる最高の速度比よりも高い場合には、当該最高の速度比に対応する一意のエンコーダ位置が前記目標のエンコーダ位置として特定され、
前記目標の速度比が、前記最小の速度比と前記最高の速度比との間の値である場合には、前記目標の速度比に対応する一意のエンコーダ位置が前記目標のエンコーダ位置として特定される、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記目標のエンコーダ位置を特定するステップは、車両の出力速度と、前記連続可変変速機の一意の速度比とを関連付けるデータ構造であって、メモリに格納されたデータ構造から、前記目標のエンコーダ位置を選択する、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記データ構造は、エンコーダの位置とシフトロッドの位置とを関連付ける、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記データ構造は、前記シフトロッドの位置と、ケーデンスレベルに関連する変速比とを関連付ける、請求項4に記載の方法。
- 自転車連続可変変速機を自動シフトするシステムであって、
前記自転車の速度を検出するように構成されている速度センサと、
前記速度センサから入力を受け取るように構成されている制御ユニットと、
所望の一定の入力ペダル漕ぎ速度を示すケイデンスデータを、前記制御ユニットに提供するように構成されているデータ入力インタフェースと、
前記制御ユニットと通信し、前記自転車の速度と速度比とを関連付ける1つ又は複数のデータ構造を格納しているメモリと、を備え、
前記制御ユニットは、前記自転車の速度及び前記ケイデンスデータに基づいて前記データ構造から目標の速度比を求めるように構成されており、
前記制御ユニットと通信して、前記連続可変変速機の動力伝達ボールを選択的に傾けるように構成されているアクチュエータであって、前記求めた目標変速比と実質的に等しい前記連続可変変速機の一意の速度比へ前記動力伝達ボールを傾けるよう構成されているアクチュエータ、を備えている、システム。 - 前記制御ユニットは、プロセッサ、特定用途向け集積回路、及びプログラマブルロジックアレイの1つを含む、請求項6に記載のシステム。
- 前記アクチュエータは、前記連続可変変速機のシフトロッドに動作可能に連結され、該シフトロッドは、前記連続可変変速機の前記速度比を調整するように構成されている、請求項6に記載のシステム。
- 前記目標の速度比が、前記連続可変変速機が提供することができる最小の速度比よりも低い場合には、前記アクチュエータは、前記連続可変変速機の速度比を、前記最小の速度比に等しくさせるように構成され、
前記目標の速度比が、前記連続可変変速機が提供することができる最高の速度比よりも高い場合には、前記アクチュエータは、前記連続可変変速機の速度比を、前記最高の速度比に等しくさせるように構成され、
前記目標の速度比が、前記最小の速度比と前記最高の速度比との間の値である場合には、前記アクチュエータは、前記連続可変変速機の速度比を、前記目標の速度比に等しくさせるように構成される、請求項6に記載のシステム。
