Abstract
本发明的光盘包括:具有第一信息表面的第一基片;在第一基片的第一信息表面上形成的半透明反射膜;具有第二信息表面的第二基片;在第二基片的第二信息表面上形成的反射膜;以及粘结第一基片和第二基片以使第一信息表面和第二信息表面彼此相对,其中:第一基片的厚度是0.56mm或者更大些,粘结层的厚度为30μm或者更大些,第一基片和粘结层的总厚度是0.68mm或更小些。

本申请是95121149.8号申请的分案申请。
本发明涉及一种光盘,其中光束在该光盘上聚焦并通过检测从该光盘反射的光再现信息。确切地说,本发明涉及具有双信息表面的光盘。
近年来,光盘作为存贮声信息数据、图象信息数据和各种信息设备信息的装置变得日趋重要,原因在于它们能存贮和再现大量的数据。另一种需求是,进一步提高光盘的容量并减小光盘的尺寸。为了满足这些要求,需进一步提高光盘的存贮容量。
例如,具有一个信息表面的小型光盘(CD)作为只读光盘是公知的。CD包括螺旋形的信息轨道,该轨道由在厚度为1.2mm的盘形树脂基片表面上形成的凸、凹部分(凹坑)组成。通过溅射和类似方法在最终得到基片的信息表面上形成由铝或类似物制成的反射膜以及保护膜。然后在保护膜上印制一个识别标志。
因为这样的CD只有一个信息表面,所以CD的存容量很小。为了提高存贮容量,在市场上可以购到将两个光盘粘结在一起的光盘,如5″磁光盘(Mo盘)。5″Mo盘分为两类:只有一个信息表面的光盘(单面光盘)和具有两个信息表面的光盘(双面光盘)。单面光盘包括一个螺旋形的导向槽,它由在厚度为1.2mm的盘形树脂基片上形成的凸、凹部分构成。通过溅射和类似方法在最终得到的基片信息表面上依次形成电介质膜、磁光记录材料膜、另一个电介质膜、以及由铝和类似材料组成的反射膜。然后,将另一个厚度为1.2mm的树脂基片粘结到反射膜上。双面光盘包括一个螺旋形的导引槽,该导引槽由在厚度为1.2mm的盘形树脂基片上形成的凸、凹部分构成。通过溅射和类似技术在最终得到的信息表面上依次形成电介质膜、磁光记录材料膜、另一个电介质膜、以及由铝及类似材料构成的反射膜。将这样制成的盘与另一个按同样方式制成的盘粘结到一起。对常规的5″Mo盘的记录/再现设备进行设计,使其既能接纳单面盘又能接纳双面盘,都能完成记录和再现操作。当记录的信息很少时用户可选择单面盘,当信息量大时可选择双面盘。5″Mo光盘设备一般只设有一个光头。因此,当使用双面光盘时,需要将光盘取出,反转过来再继续记录或再现。
一般来说,光盘的信息密度是由信息轨道的螺距和跟踪方向的信息密度(即信息线密度)决定的。为了提高光盘的信息密度,应使轨道螺距很小并使线密度很大。近年来一直在进行研究,例如将基片厚度减小到0.6mm,借此提高光盘的信息密度,减小因光盘倾斜引起的光束穿过基片的光行差。
然而,上述的常规技术存在着下述问题。在常规的双面光盘的情况下,如果用光束照射光盘的上表面和下表面来记录信息或再现记录的信息,那么在光盘的表面上就不会留下多少空间来印制识别标志。这对处理光盘来说是很不方便的。还有,当将常规的双面光盘用于只有一个光头的光再现设备时,需要将光盘从设备中取出,翻个面才能继续再现。若想能自动继续再现,需要在光盘的上方和下方设置两个光头。具有两个光头的设备的尺寸变大、成本变高。
另一个问题是,当为了提高光盘的密度在市场上购来比常规光盘更薄的新的光盘时,这种新的光盘与常规的记录/再现设备是不兼容的。
本发明的光盘包括:具有第一信息表面的第一基片;在第一基片的第一信息表面上形成的半透明反射膜;具有第二信息表面的第二基片;在第二基片的第二信息表面上形成的反射膜;以及,粘结第一基片和第二基片使第一信息表面和第二信息表面彼此面对的粘结层,其中第一基片的厚度为0.56mm或更厚些,粘结层的厚度为30μm或更厚些,第一基片和粘结层的总厚度为0.68mm或更薄些。
在一个实施例中,第一基片的厚度范围是0.56mm-0.6mm,粘结层的厚度范围是40μm-60μm。
在另一个实施例中,在第二基片的反射膜上形成一个记录材料膜以记录和再现信息。
在第三实施例中,记录材料膜由相变型记录材料构成。
在第四实施例中,在第二基片的表面上形成一个标记。
在第五实施例中,在第一和第二基片上都形成一个螺旋形轨道,并且当从第一基片的一个表面的与第一信息表面相对的那一侧观察螺旋形轨道时,在第一基片上的螺旋形轨道的形成方向与在第二基片上的螺旋形轨道的形成方向相同。
在第六实施例中,在第一和第二基片上都形成一个螺旋形轨道,并且当从第一基片的一个表面的与第一信息表面相对的那一侧观察螺旋形轨道时,在第一基片上的螺旋轨道的形成方向与在第二基片上的螺旋轨道的形成方向相反。
另一方面,本发明的光盘包括:具有第一信息表面的第一基片;在第一基片的第一信息表面上形成的半透明反射膜;具有第二信息表面的第二基片;在第二基片的第二信息表面上形成的反射膜;以及,粘结第一基片和第二基片以使第一基片的第一信息表面面对第二基片的与第二信息表面相对的那个表面的粘结层,其中第一基片的厚度与第二基片的厚度基本上相同。
另一方面,本发明的光盘包括:具有第一信息表面的第一基片;在第一基片的第一信息表面上形成的半透明反射膜;具有第二信息表面的第二基片;在第二基片的第二信息表面上形成的反射膜;粘结第一基片和第二基片以使第一基片的第一信息表面面对第二基片的与第二信息表面相对的那个表面的粘结层;以及,在第二基片的反射膜上形成的一个标记,其中第一基片的厚度与第二基片的厚度基本相同。
因而,这里描述的本发明可能具有如下优点:(1)提供一种具有双信息表面的光盘,在该光盘的一个表面上印制标记非常容易,并且使用一个光头就可自动再现信息,并且可保证与具有一个信息表面的光盘的兼容性;(2)所提供的光盘的基片的厚度与常规的标准不同,但该光盘与常规的设备兼容,从而可再现存贮在该光盘中的信息。
在阅读并理解了下述结合附图的详细描述后,本发明的这些优点以及其它的一些优点对本领域的普通技术人员来说将变得清楚明了。

下面参照附图借助于实例描述本发明。(例1)
图1是按本发明例1的光盘101的示意剖面图。光盘101是一个单面读出型光盘,包括彼此粘接在一起的第一光盘102和第二光盘103。这样一种光盘作为数字式视盘(DVD)可提供优异的性能。
第一光盘102包括具有第一信息表面105的盘形第一基片104,在表面105上形成由凸、凹部分(凹坑)组成的螺旋形信息轨道。通过溅射和类似技术在第一基片104的第一信息表面105上形成半透明的第一反射膜106。半透明的第一反射膜106例如由金(Au)、铝(Al)、或类似材料构成。如下面将要详细描述的,可以认为第一反射膜106具有反射部分用于再现时候的激光同时又能透过其余部分激光的性质。为了实现这一性质,不仅需要选择反射膜的适当材料,而且还要将膜的厚度调节到适当的范围。第一反射膜106的厚度范围最好为5-20nm。在例1中,反射膜106的厚度为10nm。
第二光盘103包括具有第二信息表面108的盘形第二基片107,在表面108上形成凸、凹部分(凹坑)组成的螺旋形信息轨道。通过溅射或类似技术在第二基片107的第二信息表面108上形成第二反射膜109。第二反射膜109由铝(Al)、或类似材料构成。
在第一和第二信息表面的105和108上以高的密度记录信息,即轨道螺距约为0.74μm,最小凹坑的长度约为0.4μm。第二反射膜109的厚度小于在第二信息表面108上形成的凹坑的长度,因此能将在第二信息表面108上记录的那些凹坑完好地传递到第二反射膜109上。具体来说,第二反射膜109的厚度最好在30-150nm范围内。在例1中,第二反射膜109的厚度为50nm。
如图1所示,在第一光盘102和第二光盘103之间形成一个粘结层110,用于粘结两个光盘。粘结层103例如可紫外(UV)固化的丙烯酸材料构成。将这样的可紫外固化的材料涂在光盘102和103中的至少一个光盘上。然后,让两个光盘102和103经可紫外固化的材料相互接触,并用紫外照射以使可紫外固化的材料固化,从而将两个光盘粘接起来。还可以使用其它热固化材料来代替可紫外固化的材料。
将标记111固定在第二光盘103的表面上。在光盘101的中央形成一个孔112(内径:15mm),以便将光盘101装在驱动电机上。
现在,参照图2A和2B描述对记录在第一和第二信息表面105和108上的信息的再现过程。
图2A表示读出记录在第一信息表面105上的信息的情况,图2B表示读出记录在第二信息表面108上的信息的情况。通过聚焦透镜202会聚平行光束201,并从与标记111一侧相对的那一侧,即从第一基片104那一侧照射光盘101。
对聚焦透镜202进行设计,使其能用于具有厚度为0.6mm的基片的光盘。因此,具有基片厚度为0.6mm的一个信息表面的常规光盘也可使用该聚焦透镜202。
现在参照图2A,当再现记录在第一信息表面105上的信息时,对光束201进行控制,以便通过公知的聚焦控制技术将光束201聚焦在第一信息表面105上。通过光检测器205经分光器204检测从第一反射膜106反射的反射光束203。于是,读出了该信息。现在参照图2B,当再现记录在第二信息表面108上的信息时,对光束201进行控制,以便通过公知的聚焦控制技术将光束201聚焦在第二反射膜109上。通过光检测器205(经分光器204)检测从第二反射膜109反射的反射光束206,从而读出了该信息。为了再现记录在光盘101中的信息,光束201的波长应为650nm,聚焦透镜202的数值孔径(NA)应为0.6左右。
当如图2A所示再现记录在第一信息表面105上的信息时,反射光束203和206穿过聚焦透镜202并由光检测器205接收。但是,光束201在第二反射膜109上形成的光点的大小约为几十个μm,这比轨道螺距(0.8μm)和最小凹坑长度(0.5μm)要大得多。因此光束201照射了多个凹坑。因而,反射光束206几乎不包括单个凹坑信息部分,并且具有一个基本上不变的光量,好象是从一个没有形成凹坑的表面上反射出来一样。进而,反射光束206只有一部分穿过聚焦透镜202,并且已穿过聚焦透镜202的这部分反射光束206并不平行。因此,已经抵达光检测器205的这部分反射光束206的光量很小。因此,光检测器205检测的凹坑信息主要是由记录在第一表面105上的凹坑所调制的部分构成的。
当如图2B所示再现记录在第二信息表面108上的信息时,反射光束203和206穿过聚焦透镜202并由光检测器205接收。但如以上所述,光束201在第一反射膜106上形成的光点的大小约为几十个μm,这是相当大的并且照射了多个凹坑。因此,反射光束203几乎不包括单个凹坑信息部分。进而,由于已经穿过聚焦透镜202的部分反射光束203并不平行,已经抵达光检测器205的这部分反射光束203的光量很小。因而,光检测器205检测的凹坑信息主要是由在第二信息表面108上记录的凹坑所调制的部分构成的。
下面,描述第一和第二反射膜106和109的反射率之间的相互关系。在读出记录在第一信息表面105上的信息的情况下,因为第一反射膜106的反射率较高,因此反射光束203的光量较大,并且最终的再现信号的质量较好。但是在读出记录在第二信息表面108上的信息的情况下,因为第一反射膜106的反射率较高,所以穿过第一反射膜106的光束201的光量较小。由于从第二反射膜109反射的反射光束206再次穿过第一反射膜106,所以在读出记录在第二信息表面108上记录信息时,进一步减小了反射光束206的光量。换言之,在读出记录在第二信息表面108上的信息的情况下,光束201穿过第一基片104、第一反射膜106、粘结层110,抵达第二反射膜109。从第二反射膜109反射的反射光束206然后再次穿过粘结层110、第一反射膜106、和第一基片104。因此光通过第一反射膜106两次。因此,如果第一反射膜106的反射率很高,则在读出记录在第二信息表面108上的信息时反射光束206的光量变得很小。为了解决这个问题,在按本发明例1的光盘101中,要对第一和第二反射膜106和109的反射率进行规定,使得在读出记录在第二信息表面108上的信息时反射光束206的光量P2与在读出记录在第一信息表面105上的信息时反射光束203的光量基本相同。在此情况下,用k2=k1/(1-k1)2来表示这种关系,其中:k1是第一反射膜106的反射率,k2是第二反射膜109的反射率。
按下述方式获得上述表达式。用P1=P0×k1表示在读出记录在第一信息表面105上的信息时反射光束203的光量P1。用P2=P0×k2(1-k1)2表示在读出记录在第二信息表面108上的信息时反射光束206的光量P2。由于P1=P2,所以可得到上述表达式。反射率k1和k2代表反射光量相对于入射光量的百分数。具体而论,在例1的光盘101中,第一反射膜106的反射率在20%-35%的范围内,第二反射膜109的反射率为60%或更大些。第二反射膜109的反射率最好尽可能高。但在使用廉价材料(如铝)的情况下要想得到接近100%的反射率,膜厚度就需要为0.6-0.8μm左右。由于高密度光盘的凹坑长度约为0.5μm,所以厚度为0.6-0.8μm的反射膜降低了信息表面向反射膜传递的水平。为了防止传递水平的降低,要使第二反射膜109的厚度等于或小于第二信息表面108的凹坑长度,即0.5μm,因此让反射率为60%或更大些。
下面讨论由聚焦透镜202聚焦的光束201的光行差。在例1的光盘101中,读出记录在第一信息表面105上的信息时的光束201的光路长度和读出记录在第二信息表面108上的信息时的光束201的光路长度之间的长度差为第一反射膜106的厚度与粘结层110的厚度t0之和。由于在例1的光盘101中,第一反射膜106的厚度为0.5μm或者更小些,因而可以忽略不计。当光路长度(即,光束穿过的厚度)变化时,由聚焦透镜202聚焦的光束201就要产生光行差。该光行差正比于聚焦透镜202的NA的四次方地增加。
下面描述聚焦透镜202和第一基片104的厚度t1之间的相互关系。因为第一反射膜106的厚度和第一基片104的厚度t1以及粘结层110的厚度t0相比是可以忽略不计的,所以这里认为第一基片104的厚度t1包括了第一反射膜106的厚度。
一般来说,在考虑到光盘的基片厚度的情况下对聚焦透镜202进行设计。当具有一个信息表面的光盘的基片厚度为0.6mm时,依据0.6mm的基片厚度来设计聚焦透镜202。当使用这个聚焦透镜202再现具有厚度t1为0.6mm的第一基片104的光盘101时,在读出记录在第一信息表面105的过程中不会出现任何问题。但在读出记录在第二信息表面108上的信息时,粘结层110的厚度就要加到第一基片104的厚度上。这就是说,如果粘结层110的厚度t0是40μm,则就要给第一基片104的厚度t1(0.6mm)加上40μm。这基本上等于使用了厚度为0.64mm的基片的情况。因此当读出记录在第二信息表面108上的信息时光行差增大了。这就降低了再现信号的质量。为了解决这个问题,在使用为具有0.6mm厚的基片的光盘设计的聚焦透镜202时,要使第一基片104的厚度t1为0.58mm,以此作为标准。然后,使具有双信息表面的光盘的基片厚度略小于具有一个信息表面的光盘的厚度。结果,当读出记录在第一信息表面105上的信息时,基片厚度为0.58mm;当读出记录在第二信息表面108上的信息时,基片厚度为0.62mm。在后一种情况下,基片的厚度等于第一基片104的入射表面和第二信息表面108之间距离。在这些厚度和对聚焦透镜202的设计值0.6mm之间的差都为20μm。于是,从第一信息表面105和第二信息表面108可以获得基本上相同的再现信号质量。当然,在制造过程中,第一基片104的厚度t1和粘结层110的厚度t0都会有所变化。但借助于上述的调整方法,放宽了这些变化的容限。
下面参照图7A-7C详细描述第一基片104的厚度t1和粘结层110的厚度t0之间的相互关系。图7A-7C是表示从各种试制的光盘得到的测量结果的曲线图。这些曲线图的x轴是第一基片104的入射表面和信息表面之间的距离,y轴是再现信号的起伏。起伏的数值是通过用通道时钟的周期去除再现信号随时间轴的变化的标准偏差值得到的。在图7A中,试制得到四种第一光盘102,它们的第一基片104的厚度t1分别为0.56m、0.57mm、0.62mm和0.63mm。每一个这样的第一光盘102都经厚度为30μm的粘结层110与第二光盘103相粘结。使用最终得到的光盘再现信息,并对起伏进行测量,标号71表示再现记录在第一信息表面105上的信息时得到的起伏,标号72表示再现记录在第二信息表面108上的信息时得到的起伏。在图7B中,试制得到四种第一光盘102,它们的第一基片104的厚度t1为0.56mm、0.57mm、0.58mm和0.61mm。每一个这样的第一光盘102都经厚度为40μm的粘结层110与第二光盘103相粘结。使用最终得到的光盘再现信息,并对起伏进行测量。标号73表示再现记录在第一信息表面105上的信息时得到的起伏,标号74表示再现记录在第二信息表面108上的信息时得到的起伏。在图7C中,试制得到三种第一光盘102,它们的第一基片104的厚度t1为0.61mm、0.62mm和0.63mm。每一个这样得到的第一光盘102都经厚度为50μm的粘结层110与第二光盘103相粘结,使用最终得到的光盘再现信息,并对起伏进行测量。标号75表示再现记录在第一信息表面105上的信息时得到的起伏,标号76表示再现记录在第二信息表面108上的信息时得到的起伏。
一般来说,当再现记录在光盘上的信息时,由于盘的偏斜和偏心、从外部加到设备上的振动和冲击、或类似的因素所致要产生散焦和轨道偏离。这些因素使再现信号的起伏变大。当盘和光束的光轴彼此相对地倾斜时也会使再现信号的起伏加大。盘的这种翘曲变形随环境条件(如湿变)的变化而变化。还要考虑制造过程中光头的变化以及每个光头随时间的变化。因此,为了能以高可靠性地再现记录在光盘上的信息,在考虑了以上所述各种因素引起的使起伏变大的情况下,再现信号的最大起伏变为10%左右。
比较图7A和7B,可以观察到下述情况。当粘结层110的厚度t0为30μm时,从第一信息表面得到的再现信号的起伏值的变化极小。起伏值保持在9.5%附近,和第一基片104的厚度t1从0.56mm变化到0.63mm无关。相反,当粘结层110的厚度t0是40μm时,从第一信息表面得到的再现信号的起伏值随第一基片104的厚度t1的减小而加大。这表明,当粘结层110的厚度t0薄达30μm时,来自第二信息表面的泄漏信号的影响大于第一基片104的厚度t1的变化产生的光行差的影响。因此可以预期,如果粘结层110的厚度t0小于30μm,则来自第二信息表面的泄漏信号较大,并且明显降低了再现信号的质量。因此,粘结层110的厚度t0应该是30μm或者更大些。
从图7B可看出,当第一基片104的厚度t1在范围0.58-0.56mm中时,从第一信息表面105得到的再现信号的起伏值开始显著增加。这是因为,当粘结层110的厚度t0为40μm时,由第一基片104的厚度t1的变化引起的光行差的影响变得大于来自第二信息表面的泄漏信号的影响。再现信号的起伏值随第一基片104的厚度t1的改变基本上呈抛物线形式变化。因此可以预期,如果第一基片104的厚度t1小于0.56mm,则再现信号的起伏值将明显增加。因此,第一基片104的厚度t1应为0.56mm或者更大些。
第一基片104的厚度t1和粘结层110的厚度t0之和(即t0+t1)是再现记录在第二信号表面108上的信息时存在的基片厚度。从图7C可以看出,当厚度(t0+t1)在范围0.66-0.69mm中时,再现信号的起伏值明显增加,起伏值基本上按抛物线形式随第一基片104的厚度t1的变化而变化。因此,可以预期,如果基片的厚度是0.69mm,则再现信号的起伏值将要超过10%。因此,为了得到等于或小于10%的再现信号起伏值,则第一基片104的厚度t1和粘结层110的厚度t0之和(t0+t1)应为0.68mm或更小些。
上述数值是极其严格的。为了保证器件的可靠性,应该对器件的每个元件进行严格的检查。由于容限太窄就不能进行批量生产,所以每个器件的成本很高。为了能够很容易地制造出器件,就应放宽容限。下面将对此作出详细的描述。
当再现记录在第一信息表面105上的信息时,因为粘结层110的厚度t0较大,所以来自第二信息表面108的泄漏信号的影响较上。从比较图7A-7C可以看出,当再现记录在第一信息表面105上的信息时,粘结层110的厚度t0最好是40μm。进而,当第一基片104的厚度t1是0.56mm或更大时,再现信号的起伏值可能小到8%。
从图7A可以看出,当第一基片104的表面和第二信息表面108之间的距离为0.66mm时,再现信号的起伏是7.5%。从图7B可以看出,当上述距离是0.65mm时,起伏是6.6%。从图7C可以看出,当上述距离是0.66mm、0.67mm和0.68mm时,起伏分别为7%、7.8%和8.8%。因此,当上述距离超过0.66mm时,再现信号的起伏明显增加。因而,再现记录在第二信息表面108上的信息时存在的基片的厚度,即第一基片104的厚度t1和粘结层110的厚度t0之和,最好为0.66mm或者更小些。
当针对具有0.6mm厚的基片的光盘来设计聚焦透镜202时,基片的厚度最好以0.6mm作为变化中心来进行变化。因此,当第一基片104的厚度为0.56mm或更大时,则可将该厚度确定为0.58mm±0.22mm。因此,要想得到0.66mm的第一基片104的厚度和粘结层110的厚度之和,粘结层110的厚度应为60μm或更小些。
从以上所述可以理解,通过在40-60μm范围内调节粘结层110的厚度t0并在0.56mm-0.6mm范围内调节第一基片104的厚度t1,就可使从第一和第二信息表面105和108得到的再现信号的起伏都很低,于是可获得质量优异的再现信号。
现在描述第一和第二光盘102和103的螺旋形轨道的方向。例如,当从内侧向外侧形成第一光盘102的螺旋形轨道并且还从内侧向外侧形成第二光盘103的螺旋形轨道时,可通过使用从两个信息表面进行再现的一个光头实现交互再现。例如,可在两个信息表面上分开记录具有多个分支的一个游戏节目。在该节目中,一收到分支指令,通过焦点转移,节目立刻从第一信息表面105移到第二信息表面108,或者从第二信息表面108移到第一信息表面105。
另一方面,当从内侧向外侧形成第一光盘102的螺旋形轨道并且从外侧向内侧形成第二光盘103的螺旋形轨道时,通过使用从两个信息表面进行再现的一个光头能够很容易地实现连续再现。即,首先从盘的内侧向盘的外侧移动光头,从第一信息表面105再现信息。当光头到达最外侧时,聚焦操作立刻从第一信息表面105转移到第二信息表面108。然后,从外侧到内铡再现记录在第二信息表面108上的信息。这一过程可用于长时间连续再现一部电影片等。按下述方式来获得这样一种光盘,它包括第一和第二光盘,两个光盘的螺旋形轨道的方向彼此相反:在刻制原始盘时,从盘的内侧向盘的外侧移动光头,从而在第一光盘102上记录信号。当要在第二光盘103中记录信号时,使盘反向旋转,并且从盘的外侧向盘的内侧移动光头。
因而,在例1的光盘中,通过具有预定厚度的粘结剂粘结第一和第二光盘。通过从光盘的一侧用光束照射信息表面来再现记录在第一和第二这两个信息表面上的信息。这样,就可以将一个标记固定到另一侧上。此外,由于使用一个光头并只改变焦点位量就可再现记录在第一和第二这两个信息表面上的信息,所以才有可能交互再现或长时间连续再现一部电影片。这还减少了记录/再现设备的成本。此外,由于第一和第二光盘厚度相同,所以这些光盘的开关随湿度改变的变化极小。这有利于这些光盘的粘结,降低了光盘的成本。(例2)
在例2中,描述可用于不同类型光记录/再现设备的光盘,这些设备是为具有厚度不同的基片的光盘设计的。
图3表示可由两种设备读出信息的光盘的示意剖面图,其中一种设备是针对具有1.2mm厚的基片的光盘设计的,另一种设备是针对具有0.6mm厚的基片的光盘设计的。
例2的光盘301由彼此粘结的第一光盘的302和第二光盘的303组成。在第一和第二光盘302和303中存贮相同的信息。第一光盘302包括盘形的第一基片304,它的厚度为0.6mm并且具有第一信息表面305,其中形成由凸、凹部分(凹坑)构成的螺旋形信息轨道。通过溅射或类似技术在第一基片304的第一信息表面305上形成一个半透明的第一反射膜306。第二光盘303按相同方式存贮和第一光盘完全相同的信息。第二光盘303包括一个盘形的第二基片307,它的厚度为0.6mm并且具有一个第二信息表面308,其中形成由凸、凹部分(凹坑)组成的螺旋形信息轨道。通过溅射或类似技术在第二基片307的第二信息表面308上形成铝或类似材料构成的第二反射膜309。标号310代表由可紫外固化的材料构成的一个粘结层,用于粘结第一和第二光盘302和303。标号311代表识别光盘的一个标记。标号312代表一个孔,用于把光盘301装在一个光记录/再现设备上。
下面参照图4A和4B描述记录在第一和第二信息表面305和308上的信息的再现。图4A表示使用针对具有0.6mm厚的基片的光盘设计的设备读出记录在第一信息表面305上的信息的情况。图4A与图2A基本相同。即,通过为0.6mm厚的基片设计的聚焦透镜202会聚平行光束201,并从第一基片304一侧照射光盘301。从第一反射膜306部分地反射光束201,并且以分光器204通过光检测器205检测反射光束203。于是,读出了该信息。
图4B表示使用针对具有1.2mm厚的基片的光盘设计的读出记录在第二信息表面308上的信息的情况。参照图4B,当再现记录在第二信息表面308上的信息时,通过为1.2mm厚的基片设计的聚焦透镜402会聚平行光束401,并从第一基片304一侧照射光盘301。光束401穿过第一基片304、第一反射膜306、粘结层310、第二基片307,并抵达第二信息表面308。从第二反射膜309部分地反射光束401,反射光束406穿过第二基片307、粘结层310、第一反射膜306、第一基片304和聚焦透镜402。然后,以分光器404通过光检测器405检测反射光束406。于是,读出了该信息。
如图4A所示,当记录在第一信息表面305上的信息时,反射光束203和206穿过聚焦透镜202并由光检测器205接收。但光束201在第二反射膜309上形成的光点有1mm那么大或者更大些,因此光束201照射了多个凹坑。还有,已经穿过透镜202的反射光束206并不是平行的。因此,已经抵达光检测器205的反射光束206的光量极小。因而,通过光检测器205几乎检测不到从第二信息表面308得到的凹坑信息部分。
如图4B所示,像上述情况那样,当再现记录在第二信息表面308上的信息时,反射光束403和406穿过聚焦透镜402并由光检测器405接收。但光束401在第一反射膜306上形成的光点有1mm那么大或者更大些,所以光束401照射到多个凹坑。还有,已经穿过聚焦透镜402的反射光束406并不是平行的。因此,通过光检测器405几乎检测不到从第一信息表面305得到的凹坑信息部分。
在例2的光盘301中,第一和第二反射膜306和309的反射率之间的相互关系与例1的光盘101基本相同。但在光盘301中,不需要将记录在第二信息表面308上的信息传递到第二反射膜309。这就使第二反射膜309变厚,因而可获得90%或更大些的反射率。
如以上所述,当将图3所示的光盘301用于作为1.2mm厚的基片设计的设备时,光束401穿过第一和第二基片304和307、第一反射膜306和粘结层310。当第一和第二基片304和307的厚度和是0.6mm时,总厚度超过粘结层310厚度1.2mm,当然第一反射膜306的厚度略去未计。这就要产生光行差。为解决这个问题,粘结层310的厚度最好为几十个μm或者更小些。另一方面,还可以通过粘结层310的厚度来减小第二基片307的厚度。
第一和第二信息表面305和308可以有彼此不同的格式。例如,可以在第二信息表面308上以常规CD格式记录信息,从而就可以通过广泛使用的CD播放机来再现该信息。一般来说,CD盘的密度很低,并且CD的容量仅仅是本发明的光盘容量的1/4左右。因此,例如,可在第一信息表面305上记录整部电影,而在第二信息表面308上记录通过剪辑部分缩短了的电影的编辑版本。在这种情况下,由于使用了波长为780nm的光束从CD盘进行再现,因此第一反射膜306应具有可反射650nm光束并且可透射780nm光束的光学性质。这就增加了反射光量,因此增加了最终再现信号的信/噪比。
如以上所述,在例2中,由于在第一和第二光盘中记录了相同的信息,因此通过两个设备可以读出相同的信息,一个设备是针对具有1.2mm厚的基片的光盘设计的,另一个设备是针对具有0.6mm厚的基片的光盘设计的。还有,由于用一个光束从光盘的一侧照射第一和第二这两个信息表面。所以可将一个标记形成到光盘的另一侧上。(例3)
在例3中,描述一种光盘,它的第一信息表面仅用于再现,它的第二信息表面用于记录和再现。通过用一个光束从一侧照射光盘来进行再现或记录。
图5是例3的光盘501的放大的剖面图。光盘501由相互粘结的仅用于再现的第一光盘502和用于记录和再现的第二光盘503组成。第一光盘502包括厚度为0.6mm的盘形基片504,基片504具有第一信息表面505,其中形成由凸、凹部分(凹坑)组成的螺旋形信息轨道。通过溅射或类似技术在基片504的第一信息表面505上形成一个半透明的反射膜506。第二光盘503包括厚度为0.58mm的一个基片,该基片具有第二信息表面,其中形成由微小的凸、凹部分(沟槽)组成的螺旋形信息轨道。标号510代表粘结第一和第二光盘502和502的粘结层。标号511代表识别光盘的一个标记。标号512代表一个孔,用于把光盘501装在光记录/再现设备上。
在图5所示的光盘501中,象图1所示的光盘101一样,经粘结层510粘结仅用于再现的第一信息表面505和用于记录及再现的第二信息表面,使它们相互分开约40μm。从第一光盘502这一侧用光束照射光盘501。
参照图5和6,描述第二光盘503。图6是沿径向剖开第二光盘503得到的一个放大的剖面图。在第二光盘503的基片601的一个表面上形成具有凸、凹部分的沟槽轨道602。然后通过溅射或类似技术依次相继形成由铝或类似材料构成的反射膜603、由SiO2或类似构成的电介质膜604、记录材料膜605、以及另一个电介质膜606。设置反射膜603是为了提高灵敏度,并且通过促进热幅射保护记录材料膜605不受热冲击影响。通过溅射例如包含碲(Te)、锑(Sb)、或锗(Ge)作为主要成份的相变型记录材料形成记录材料膜605。形成电介质膜604和606是为了保护记录材料膜605不受湿度或热冲击影响。可以省去这些电介质膜。
相变型记录材料在加热后逐渐冷却时变为结晶形的,在熔化后突然冷却则变为非结晶性的。在相变型盘中使用了这一性质,其中:相变型记录材料的结晶状态和非结晶状态相互可逆地改变,因而可反复改写信息,象诸如软盘和硬盘之类的磁盘能够作到的一样。按以下所述在相变型盘上记录信息。盘以预定速度旋转。对跟踪进行控制以使光束沿沟槽轨道定位,与此同时还要依据要记录的信号在强的非结晶强度水平和弱的结晶强度水平之间改变光束的强度。例如,在进行记录使记录标志处在非结晶状态的情况下,发出具有可熔化膜的足够大光量的光束,从而在膜上形成非结晶状态下的一个标志。相反,在不欲形成标记期间,发出具有阻止膜熔化的足够小光量的光束,使膜的位置处结晶。因此这时使膜的这个位置结晶,和该位置的先前状态是非结晶状态还是结晶状态无关。因此可改写即使已记录了信息的膜的位置。根据非结晶状态和结晶状态的反射率彼此不同的原理来再现记录在相变型盘上的信息。例如,用恒定的弱光照射该盘,用光检测器检测来自盘的反射光束,使用检测到的反射光量的变化来再现信息。
如上所述,构成了例3的光盘501,可从第一光盘502这一侧接收一个光束。理由如下:使用由吸收光束产生的热量在用于记录和再现的第二光盘503中记录信息。因此,为了使用具有小光量的光束进行记录,第二光盘需吸收约60%的光束。因此,当反射率约为20%时,透射率将小到20%。如果和例3的情况相反,构成的光盘从第二光盘503这一侧接收光束,则读出记录在第一信息表面505上的信息所需的反射光量极小。例如,即使反射膜506的反射率为100%,在两次穿过第二光盘503后的反射光量仅仅是入射光量的4%。对于按本发明的光盘501,就可免除上述麻烦,光盘501从第一光盘502这一侧接收光束。第二光盘503的吸收可能高达60%,它的反射率可为40%。因此,当反射膜506的反射率例如为20%时,在读出记录在第一信息表面505上的信息的情况下,可获得约为20%入射光量的反射光量;在读出记录在第二光盘503上的信息的情况下,可获得约为26%入射光量的反射光量。当再现记录在只用于再现的第一光盘502中的信息时,通过在第一信息表面505上形成的凹坑强调制入射光束。因此,即使第一反射膜506的反射率低达20%,也能获得足够高质量的再现信号。
如以上所述,由于构成的例3的光盘501从只用于再现的第一光盘502一侧接收光束,因此能够高可靠性地从第一和第二光盘502和503进行再现。
因此,在例3中,用具有预定厚度的粘结剂粘结第一和第二光盘502和503,并用一个光束从光盘的一侧照射这两个光盘的信息表面。因此,可将一个标记形成到光盘的另一侧。还有,由于使用一个光头仅通过改变光束焦点位置就可再现记录在两个信息表面上的信息,因此有可能进行交互再现,并且降低了光记录/再现设备的成本。此外,将只用于再现的光盘和用于记录及再现的光盘组合起来,形成一个光盘。因此,例如,可对记录在只用于再现的光盘中的信息进行处理,并将处理过的信息记录在用于记录和再现的那个光盘中。这将使信息的处理很容易,其原因在于相关的信息存贮在同一个光盘内。由于第一和第二光盘的厚度相同,所以这些光盘的形状随湿度变化几乎没有什么改变。这便于光盘的粘结,因此降低了光记录/再现介质的成本。
顺便提一下,可在例2的光盘的第二信息表面308上形成与例3所用的记录材料膜605类似的记录材料膜。这样的记录材料膜应该在第二光盘303的第二信息表面308和第二反射膜309之间形成。
因此,按本发明,用透明粘结剂粘结第一光盘和第二光盘;其中第一光盘包括在第一信息表面上形成的半透明反射膜,在第一信息表面上记录信息;第二光盘包括在第二信息表面上形成的反射膜,在第二信息表面上记录信息;从而使两个信息表面彼此靠近。因此,用一个光束从光盘的一侧照射该表面,即可读出记录在双信息表面上的信息。于是,可相继地再现几乎两倍的信息量。由于可将标记形成到光盘的另一侧,所以光盘的识别是很容易的。
可将第一基片和粘结层的厚度调整到预定数值。因此,从第一和第二信息表面得到的再现信号的起伏很小,故可获得高质量的再现信号。
另外,按照本发明,使第一和第二基片的厚度基本相同,这两个基片彼此粘结,使第一基片的第一信息表面面对第二基片的与第二信息表面相对的那个表面。这样一种光盘可用于两个设备,一个设备是针对1.2mm厚的基片的光盘设计的,另一个设备是针对0.6mm厚的基片的光盘设计的。
另一方面,按本发明,相互粘结只用于再现的光盘和用于记录及再现的光盘。例如,可对只用于再现的光盘中记录的信息进行处理,并将处理过的信息记录在用于记录和再现的光盘内。因为在一个光盘中存贮相关的信息,所以这使信息的处理很容易。
在不偏离本发明的构思和范围的条件下,对本领域的普通技术人员来说,各种其它的改进都是显而易见的,并且是很容易做出来的。因此不希望将这里所附的权利要求书的范围只限于这里所给出的描述,而是希望对权利要求书能作出广义的解释。
Claims (14)
1、一种光盘,包括:
具有第一信息表面的第一基片;
在第一基片的第一信息表面上形成的半透明反射膜;
具有第二信息表面的第二基片;
在第二基片的第二信息表面上形成的记录材料膜材料膜;以及
用于粘结第一基片和第二基片的的粘结层;
其中仅用于再现的信息以凸起和凹坑的形式形成在第一基片的第一信息表面上,对形成在第一基片的第一信息表面上的信息的读取或对形成在第二基片的第二信息表面上的记录材料膜材料膜的信息的记录是通过使用一束来自第一基片一侧的光束进行的。
2、如权利要求1的光盘,其特征在于:第一基片的厚度与第二基片的厚度基本上相同。
3、如权利要求1的光盘,其特征在于:该粘结层粘结第一基片和第二基片以便使第一信息表面和第二信息表面彼此相对。
4、如权利要求3的光盘,其特征在于:第一基片的厚度为大于或等于0.56mm,粘结层的厚度为大于或等于30μm,而第一基片和粘结层的整体厚度是小于或等于0.68mm。
5、如权利要求1的光盘,其特征在于:记录材料膜是由相变型记录材料构成的。
6、如权利要求1的光盘,其特征在于:在第二基片的一个表面上形成一个标记。
7、如权利要求1的光盘,其特征在于:在第一基片和第二基片的每一个上都形成一个螺旋形轨道,并且
在从第一基片的与第一信息表面相对的那个表面一侧观察螺旋形轨道时,在第一基片上的螺旋形轨道的形成方向与在第二基片上的螺旋形轨道的形成方向相同。
8、如权利要求1的光盘,其特征在于:在第一基片和第二基片的每一个上都形成一个螺旋形轨道,并且
在从第一基片的与第一信息表面相对的那个表面一侧观察螺旋形轨道时,在第一基片上的螺旋形轨道的形成方向与在第二基片上的螺旋形轨道的形成方向相反。
9、一种光盘,包括:
具有第一信息表面的第一基片;
在第一基片的第一信息表面上形成的半透明反射膜;
具有第二信息表面的第二基片;
在第二基片的第二信息表面上形成的反射膜;以及
粘结第一基片和第二基片以使第一基片的第一信息表面面对第二基片的与第二信息表面相对的那个表面的粘结层;
其中,第一基片的厚度基本上与第二基片的厚度相同。
10、如权利要求9的光盘,其特征在于:在第二基片的第二信息表面和反射膜之间形成一个记录材料膜。
11、如权利要求10的光盘,其特征在于:记录材料膜由相变型记录材料构成。
12、一种光盘,包括:
具有第一信息表面的第一基片;
在第一基片的第一信息表面上形成的半透明反射膜;
具有第二信息表面的第二基片;
在第二基片的第二信息表面上形成的反射膜;
粘结第一基片和第二基片使第一基片的第一信息表面面对第二基片的与第二信息表面相对的那个表面的粘结层;以及
在用于第二基片的反射膜上形成的一个标记,
其中,第一基片的厚度与第二基片的厚度基本相同。
13、如权利要求12的光盘,其特征在于:在第二基片的第二信息表面和反射膜之间形成一个记录材料膜。
14、如权利要求13的光盘,其特征在于:记录材料膜是由相变型记录材料构成的。
