Description

具有具肋條之接地板之電連接器及其產生方法
電連接器使用導電接點而提供電子器件之間的信號連接。有時期望在不改變連接器之實體尺寸(高度、寬度、配合介面及安裝介面)下經由一現有連接器增加資料傳送。但是，很難在有意改變另一態樣下改變一電連接器之一態樣。例如，可將金屬串擾屏蔽添加至一電連接器以減少串擾，但是屏蔽之添加通常降低阻抗。於較低資料傳輸速率下，諸如1至1.25十億位元/秒，阻抗匹配實質上不影響效能。但是，隨著資料傳輸速率增加至100億位元/秒至400億位元/秒及介於其間之任何離散點，不對稱及阻抗不匹配成為問題。因此，雖然可藉由將一金屬串擾屏蔽添加至一現有電連接器而減少串擾時，但可造成關於信號完整性之其他問題。
因此，所需的是具有避免習知屏蔽缺點之一屏蔽的一電連接器。
根據一態樣，一電連接器包含一介電外殼、由介電外殼承載之複數個電信號接點及由介電外殼承載之一接地板。電信號接點係沿著一第一平面配置，其中信號接點界定信號對，使得一各自間隙安置於相鄰信號對之間。接地板包含一接地板本體，該接地板本體經定向於實質上平行於第一平面且自第一平面偏移的一第二平面中。接地板本體界定第一及第二相對表面。接地板包含界定第一及第二相對表面之至少一經衝壓或經壓花之肋條，其中肋條之第一表面在朝著間隙之一方向上自接地板本體之第一表面突出，且第二表面凹陷於接地板本體之第二表面中。至少一經衝壓或經壓花之肋條代替兩個差分信號對之間的一接地接點或電性上用作兩個差分信號對之間的一接地接點，該等差分信號對相對於彼此邊緣對邊緣或相對於彼此側面對側面定位。

最初參考圖1-2B，一電連接器總成20包含經組態以彼此配合以便在互補基板38與42之間建立一電連接的一第一電連接器22及一第二電連接器24。如所顯示，第一電連接器22可為界定一配合介面26及一安裝介面28的一立式連接器，該安裝介面28實質上平行於配合介面26而延伸。第二電連接器24可為界定一配合介面30及一安裝介面32的一直角連接器，該安裝介面32實質上垂直於配合介面30而延伸。

直角電接點44可具有約0.1 mm至0.5 mm之一材料厚度及約0.1 mm至0.9 mm之一接觸高度。接觸高度可隨著直角電接點44之長度變化。第二電連接器24亦可包含可為電絕緣或導電的一IMLA組織器50。固持IMLA 40之一導電IMLA組織器50可經由界定於IMLA組織器50中的狹縫52或任何其他適當連接而電連接至IMLA 40之導電部分。

因此，中間壁部分96安置於相對於接地板本體64之內表面72橫向偏移的一位置處。根據圖解說明之實施例，中間壁部分96界定位於第一平面T-L1中之肋條74的一末梢端98。中間壁部分96可包含沿著正交於界定相對應間隙59之信號接點56延伸之一方向的一彎曲部分，或者或額外可包含沿著正交於界定間隙59之信號接點56延伸之一方向的一平坦部分。在此方面，應理解中間壁部分96或者可沿著正交於界定相對應間隙59之信號接點56延伸的一方向完全彎曲，或可沿著正交於界定間隙59之信號接點56延伸的一方向完全平坦。如此，肋條74可界定彼此變化之曲率。因此，應瞭解肋條74可彎曲或逐漸縮小，且因此沒有相對於差分信號接點56位於平面T-L1之外的銳利邊緣。此外，每一肋條74可以一致距離隔開，該一致距離沿著自界定相對應間隙59之該肋條74之相鄰信號接點56的該肋條74的長度。而且，每一肋條74可自該肋條74之相鄰信號接點56以一距離隔開，該距離實質上等於其他肋條74之一或至多所有其他肋條74與其等相鄰信號接點所隔開之距離。
雖然中間壁部分96可如所圖解說明位於第一平面T-L1中，但應理解肋條74或者可終止於末梢端98處，該末梢端98係定位為第一平面T-L1之內或穿過第一平面T-L1。根據所圖解說明之實施例，中間壁部分96以實質上一恆定橫向距離LD從接地板62之內表面72延伸，該恆定橫向距離LD實質上等於介於第二平面T-L2與第一平面T-L1之間的橫向距離。

繼續參考圖4A-6C，每一肋條74可界定在最近端92處沿著平行於接地板平面T-L2之一方向延伸的一第一寬度W1及在末梢端98處沿著平行於接地板平面T-L2之方向延伸的一第二寬度W2，根據所圖解說明之實施例，該第二寬度W2小於第一寬度W1。至少一肋條74之寬度W1及W2可小於、大於或實質上等於其他肋條74之一或多個肋條74的相對應寬度W1及W2之一或多個。
雖然肋條74經圖解說明為自其等各自前端83持續延伸至其等後端85，但應理解，肋條74之一或至多所有肋條74可在前端83與後端85之間不連續或分段。例如，如在圖8中所圖說明，一或多個肋條74可提供為分離肋條片段74A及74B，其等每一者界定在相對應配合端66與安裝端68之間 彼此隔開的各自封閉周邊80A及80B。或者或額外地，一給定肋條74之中間壁部分96可自內表面72突出一距離，該距離沿著介於前端83與後端85之間之肋條74的長度變化。

現參考圖7A-B，電連接器24圖解說明為包含上文描述之類型的複數個IMLA 40。四個IMLA 40圖解說明為具有沿著各自共同中心線CL延伸之電接點44，雖然應瞭解，連接器24視需要可包含許多IMLA 40。每一IMLA視需要可包含許多電信號接點對57及交錯肋條74。如此，一或至多所有IMLA 40可包含上文描述之類型的一接地板62。IMLA 40包含實質上相同建構之一第一類型IMLA 40A及實質上相同建構之一第二類型IMLA 40B。或者可沿著橫向方向A配置IMLA 40A及40B。根據所圖解說明之實施例，第一IMLA 40A之信號接點56係相對於第二IMLA 40B之信號接點56而交錯。因此，介於第一IMLA 40A之相鄰信號對57之間的間隙59係相對於第二IMLA 40B之間隙59而交錯。應瞭解，配合端66及安裝端68視需要可自任何位置沿著接地板本體64延伸，使得配合端66係以上文描述之方式安置介於信號接點56之配合端58之間且與信號接點56之配合端58對準，且安裝端68係以上文描述之方式安置介於信號接點56之安裝端60之間且與信號接點56之安裝端60對準。
例如，根據一實施例，沿著共同中心線CL之一方向自配合介面30之頂部朝著配合介面30之底部以一重複G-S-S-G-S-S模式配置第一IMLA 40A之配合端46，藉此「G」表示電接地接點配合端66且「S」表示電信號接點配合端58。此外，根據一實施例，沿著共同中心線CL之一方向自配合介面30之頂端朝著配合介面30之底部以一重複S-S-G-S-S-G模式配置第二IMLA 40B之配合端46，藉此「G」表示電接地接點配合端66且「S」表示電信號接點配合端58。
如此應瞭解，製造一電連接器之一方法包含以下步驟：1)提供複數個電信號接點56；2)沿著第一平面T-L1將電信號接點56固持於引線框外殼54中，以便界定安置介於電信號接點56之相鄰對之間的間隙59；3)提供具有分別界定第一及第二相對表面72及70之一接地板本體64的一接地板62；4)將複數個肋條74衝壓於接地板本體64之第二表面70中，使得肋條74分別界定第一及第二相對表面75及77，其中每一肋條74之第一表面75自接地板本體64之第一表面72突出，且每一肋條之第二表面77凹陷於接地板本體64之第二表面70中；及5)將接地板62附接至引線框外殼54，使得接地板本體64經定向於相對於第一平面T-L1偏移之第二平面T-L2中，且每一肋條74之第一表面75朝著由電信號接點56之相鄰對57界定之間隙59的一各自者突出。
接地板62係一寬的連續導體且其比一電連接器之接地接點寬，該電連接器實質上與電連接器24相同，除了該實質上相同之電連接器並不包含接地板62，反而是包含在間隙59中延伸之離散接地接點，該等離散接地接點界定如在美國專利案第7,497,736號中描述之相對的接地配合端及接地安裝端。因此，應理解，可相對於實質上相同之電連接器修改電連接器24，其中除了電連接器24沒有離散接地接點而優點在於具有在信號接點56之相鄰對57之間延伸之肋條74之接地板62。因此，電連接器24係優於具有離散接地接點之無屏蔽、高密度、直角電連接器之一改良而不具有明顯減少之阻抗匹配及不具有明顯增加之電感。根據本發明之實施例，電連接器24之阻抗並不相對於一預修改之連接器明顯改變，電連接器24之電感小於在相同預修改之連接器中之接地接點，電連接器24之串擾相較於相同預修改之連接器減少，且電連接器24之總尺寸相同於預修改之連接器的該等總尺寸。
例如，據信接地板62提供一低阻抗共同路徑，該低阻抗共同路徑阻截及耗散介於信號接點56之間的雜散電磁能量，否則信號接點56將會成為串擾之一來源。據信併入上文描述之IMLA 40的一連接器在可接受最差情形下(在一受害對上不超過百分之六(例如小於百分之一，諸如百分之0.4)的多主動態串擾)可於13 GHz下操作。可以美國專利案第7,497,736號中描述之方式決定最差情形(多主動串擾)。

Claims (15)

  1. 一種電連接器，其包括：一介電外殼；複數個電信號接點，其等由該介電外殼承載且沿著一第一平面配置，其中該等信號接點界定信號對，使得一各自間隙安置介於相鄰信號對之間；一接地板，其由該介電外殼承載，該接地板包含一接地板本體，該接地板本體經定向於實質上平行於該第一平面且自該第一平面偏移之一第二平面中，該接地板本體界定第一及第二相對表面，該接地板包含界定第一及第二相對表面之至少一肋條，其中該肋條之該第一表面在朝著該間隙之一方向上自該接地板本體之該第一表面突出，且該第二表面凹陷於該接地板本體之該第二表面中。
  2. 如請求項1之電連接器，其中該介電外殼係包覆模塑成型於該等電信號接點上的一引線框外殼。
  3. 如請求項2之電連接器，其中該接地板係離散附接至該引線框外殼。
  4. 如請求項1之電連接器，其中該至少一肋條界定一彎曲外壁部分。

  13. 一種電連接器，其包括：一組織器；及複數個插入模塑成型引線框總成(IMLA)，其等由該組織器固持，每一插入模塑成型引線框總成包含；一介電外殼；複數個電信號接點，其等由該介電外殼承載且沿著一第一平面配置，其中係成對配置該等信號接點使得各自間隙係安置介於相鄰信號接點對之間，該等信號接點界定各自配合端及安裝端；一接地板，其由該介電外殼承載，該接地板包含一接地板本體，該接地板本體經定向於實質上平行於該第一平面且自該第一平面偏移之一第二平面中，該接地板本體界定第一及第二相對表面，該接地板包含：複數個肋條，該複數個肋條之每一者界定第一及第二相對表面，其中每一肋條之該第一表面在朝著該等間隙之一各自者的一方向上自該接地板本體之該第一表面突出，且該第二表面凹陷於該接地板本體之該第二表面中；複數個配合端，該複數個配合端自該接地板本體延伸且自該接地板本體偏移，以便在與該等電信號接點之該等配合端對準之該第一平面中的該等各自間隙中延伸；及複數個安裝端，該複數個安裝端自該接地板本體延伸且自該接地板本體偏移，以便在與該等電信號接點之該等安裝端對準之該第一平面中的該等各自間隙中延伸。
  14. 如請求項13之電連接器，其中該複數個IMLA包含交替配置之一第一類型IMLA及一第二類型IMLA，其中該第一類型IMLA之該等信號接點係相對於該第二類型IMLA之該等信號接點而交錯。
  15. 一種產生一電連接器之方法，該方法包括以下步驟：提供複數個電信號接點；沿著一第一表面將該等電信號接點固持於一介電外殼中，以便界定安置介於相鄰電信號接點對之間的間隙；提供具有一接地板本體之一接地板，該接地板本體界定第一及第二相對表面；將複數個肋條衝壓至該接地板本體之該第二表面中，使得該等肋條界定第一及第二相對表面，其中每一肋條之該第一表面自該接地板本體之該第一表面突出，且每一肋條之該第二表面凹陷於該接地板本體之該第二表面中；將該接地板本體附接至該介電外殼，使得該接地板本體經定向於相對於該第一平面偏移之一第二平面中，且每一肋條之第一表面朝著由該等相鄰介電信號接點對界定之該等間隙的一各自者突出。
