Abstract

본 발명은 양방향적 기상 조언 시스템(interactive weather advisory system) 및 개인화 기상 정보(individualized weather information)를 전달하는 방법에 관한 것이다.

통신자 위치 데이터베이스는 통신자 장치의 공간상 위치를 표시하는 실시간 데이터(real-time data)를 포함하고 있다. 본 발명에 따른 하나의 바람직한 예에서, 통신자 위치 데이터베이스는 통신자 장치에 의해 자동적으로 및/또는 계속적으 로 업데이트된다.
기상 정보 데이터베이스는 통신자 위치 데이터베이스에 포함되어있는 적어도 공간상 위치들에 대한 실시간 기상 데이터를 포함하고 있다. 용어 "기상 데이터(weather data)"는, 기상 사건들의 과거 및 현재의 상태; 문자형 결과물, 도식형 결과물 등 매우 다양한 기상 결과물들을 나타내며, 이에 한정되지 않는다. 기상 분석 유닛은, 기상 정보 데이터베이스로부터 실시간 기상 데이터를 수신하고, 사용자-정의 변수들에 포함되어있는 공간상 범위 확인자와 통신자 위치 데이터베이스내에 포함되어있는 대응 통신자 장치의 공간상 위치를 실시간 기상 데이터와 자동적으로 그리고 계속적으로 비교하고, 사용자의 요구시, 또는 계속적으로라도, 사용자-정의 변수들에 대한 공간상 범위 확인자에 의해 확인된 공간상 범위내에서 기상 정보를 포함하고 있는 개인화 기상 출력 신호(individualized weather output signal)를 생성한다. 통신자 위치 데이터베이스에 의해 새로운 위치들이 정의됨에 따라, 기상 정보 데이터베이스는 실시간으로 자동적으로 업데이트된다.
통신 네트워크는, 실시간 기상 데이터 및 사건들의 예측에 상응하는 사용자-정의 변수내에 포함된 사용자 프로파일에 정의되어있는 특정 통신자 장치로, 각각의 개인화 기상 출력 신호를 전송한다. 따라서, 사용자는, 시간에 따라 그의 위치가 고정되어있는지 또는 동적인지 여부에 관계없이, 그의 현재 공간상 위치에 특정된 실시간으로 기상 정보를 수령할 수 있다.

이제 도면들과 특히 블록 다이어그램 형태로 개시되어있는 도 1을 참조하면, 양방향 기상 조언 시스템(8)이 본 발명에 따라 구성되어있다. 기상 조언 시스템(8)에는 원격 통신자 장치들(11)로 개인화 기상 출력 신호를 선택적으로 전송하기 위한 방송 네트워크(10)가 포함되어있다. 방송 네트워크(10)는 기상 분석 유닛(12), 사용자 입력 데이터베이스(14), 통신자 위치 데이터베이스(16), 및 통신 네트워크(20)를 포함하고 있다. 기상 분석 유닛(12)은 기상 정보 데이터베이스(12)로부터 실시간 기상 데이터를 수령한다. 기상 정보 데이터베이스(12)는 방송 네트워크(10) 상에 위치하거나, 또는 방송 네트워크(10)로부터 멀리 떨어져 위치되어 있을 수 있다.
기상 분석 유닛(12), 사용자 입력 데이터베이스(14), 통신자 위치 데이터베이스(16), 기상 정보 데이터베이스(21), 및 통신 네트워크(20)는 신호 경로들(22, 24, 26, 28, 30 및 32)을 통해 상호 관계하고 통신한다.
사용자 입력 데이터베이스(14)는 다수의 사용자들이 기상 정보, 조언 또는 예보에 대응하는 데이터를 입력할 수 있도록 허여함으로써, 사건들의 개인화 기상 보고, 조언 또는 예보가 각각의 개인 사용자에게 전송될 수 있게 된다. 사용자 입력 데이터베이스(14)는 다수의 사용자들 각각에 대해 상호관련된 적어도 하나의 사용자-정의 변수를 대표하는 데이터를 포함하고 있다. 본 발명의 하나의 실시예에서, 각각의 사용자-정의 변수들은, 공간상 범위 확인자; 사용자 프로파일; 특정한 기상 패턴들을 확인하기 위한 하나 또는 그 이상의 기상 내용 확인자; 사용자가 기상 결과물을 원하는 특정 시간 또는 시간 간격들을 확인하기 위한 하나 또는 그 이상의 시간 확인자; 공간상 위치 고정적 또는 동적 코드; 및 공간상 위치가 고정되어있는 것을 공간상 위치 고정적 또는 동적 코드가 확인한다면, 사용자에게 그가 관심을 가지는 특정의 공간상 위치를 확인시켜주기 위한 공간상 위치 확인자 등과 같은 기상 출력 신호에 관련된 다양한 정보들을 포함하고 있다. 여기에 사용된 용어 "위치 코드(location code)"는 고정 위치 또는 동적 위치를 나타낸다. 각 사용자-정의 변수에서 사용자 프로파일은 특정 사용자와 관련된 특정 통신자 장치(11)를 확인하기 위한 사용자 확인자 코드를 적어도 포함하고 있다.

상기 설명한 바와 같이, 공간상 위치 확인자(spatial location identifier)는 세계 어느 곳에서의 특정 공간상 위치 및/또는 해수면 높이를 확인한다. 공간상 범위 확인자(spatial range identifier)는 특정 위치 확인자를 둘러싸고 있는 특정 공간상 범위를 확인한다. 각 사용자는, 공간상 범위 확인자에 의해 확인된 공간상 범위내에서, 공간상 위치 확인자에 의해 확인된 공간상 위치에 대한 기상 예보 및/또는 기상 조언 또는 기타 다른 기상 정보들을 수신하기 위하여 공간상 위치 확인자와 공간상 범위 확인자를 선택할 수 있다.
예를 들어, 도 2를 참조하면, 서로다른 사용자들에 의해 선택된 본 발명에 따른 4 개의 공간상 위치 확인자들과 4 개의 공간상 범위 확인자들을 보여주는 좌표계가 개시되어있다. 즉, 사용자들 중의 한 사람이 공간상 위치 확인자(X1, Y1, Z1)와 공간상 범위 확인자(R1)를 선택한다. 다른 한 사람은 공간상 위치 확인자(X2, Y2, Z2) 및 공간상 범위 확인자(R2)를 선택한다.

공간상 범위 확인자들(R1, R2, R3 및 R4)의 크기는 다르거나 같을 수 있다. 더욱이, 공간상 범위 확인자들(R1, R2, R3 및 R4)의 크기는 매우 다양할 수 있으며, 바람직하게는 사용자들에 의해 선택된다.

기상 분석 유닛(12)은 기상 정보 데이터베이스(21)로부터 실시간 기상 데이터를 모은다. 여기에 사용된 용어 "실시간 기상 데이터(real-time weather data)"는 현재 또는 최근 정보를 나타내도록 계속적으로 업데이트된 기상 데이터를 의미한다. 몇몇 예에서, "실시간 기상 데이터"는 예를 들어 5 분, 15 분 또는 30 분의 상대적으로 적은 증가 단위로 늦추질 수도 있다. 통신 네트워크 및 기상 관련 기술이 빨라짐에 따라 증가 폭은 작아질 것으로 예상된다.
기상 분석 유닛(12)은 모든 기상 관련 사건들에 대한 예측을 만들어내고, 기상 정보 데이터베이스(21)내에 포함되어있는 과거 및 현재 사건들(미래의 위치, 강도, 궤도 등)을 비교하여, 4차원 데이터베이스를 구성한다. 데이터베이스의 3개의 차원들은 지구 표면이나 그 위에서의 물리적 위치(공간상 위치 확인자: X1, Y1, Z1)를 정의한다. 4번째 차원은 시간이다(T1, T2, T3, T4 로서 나타냄): 과거, 현재 또는 미래. 실시간으로 고속 컴퓨터 프로세서를 사용함으로써, 기상 분석 유닛(12)은 특정 위치에서의 모든 (과거, 현재 및 예측된) 사건들과 확인가능한 사용자 제공 데이터(사용자 입력 데이터베이스; X1, Y1, Z1, R1, T1)를 비교하여 어떠한 일치된 결과(기상 출력 신호)를 통신 네트워크(20)와 통신 장치(11)들을 통해 사용자에게 확인시켜 준다.
통신 네트워크(20)는 신호 경로(32 및 30)를 경유하여 기상 출력 신호와 사용자 확인 코드를 수신한다. 그에 대한 답신으로, 통신 네트워크(20)는 신호 경로(34a, 34b 및 34c)를 경유하여 사용자 확인 코드에 관련된 통신자 장치(11)들에게 개인화 기상 출력 신호를 송신함으로써, 각각의 사용자들은 요구했던 개인화 기상 정보를 받아보게 된다.
신호 경로(34a, 34b 및 34c)는 전자 통신을 가능케하는 어떠한 적당한 통신 링크(communication link)를 의미한다. 예를 들어, 신호 경로들(34a, 34b 및 34c)은 포인트-투-포인트 공용 및 전용 통신, 적외선 링크, 마이크로파 링크, 전화 링크, CATV 링크, 위성 및 라디오 링크와 광섬유 링크일 수 있다.

Claims (30)

  1. 사용자 프로파일(user profile)을 각각 가지고 있는 특정 사용자에 관한 다수의 사용자-정의 변수(user-defined parameter)들을 포함하고 있으며, 상기 각각의 사용자-정의 변수내의 사용자 프로파일은 특정 사용자에 관한 통신자 장치(communicator device)를 확인하기 위한 사용자 확인자 코드(user identifier code)를 포함하고 있는, 사용자 입력 데이터베이스(user input database);
    기상 정보 데이터베이스(weather information database)로부터 수신된 실시간 기상 데이터(real-time weather data)를 각각의 특정 사용자에 관한 위치 코드(location code) 및 공간상 범위 확인자(spatial range identifier)와 비교하여, 공간상 범위 확인자들과 위치 코드들에 의해 확인되고 각각의 특정 사용자에 대해 분별적인(distinct) 공간상 범위들내에서 기상 정보를 포함하는 다수의 개인화 기상 출력 신호들을 생성하는 기상 분석 유닛(weather analysis unit); 및
    사용자-정의 변수들내의 사용자 확인자 코드들과 개인화 기상 출력 신호들을 수신하여, 사용자-정의 변수내에 포함되어있는 사용자 프로파일내 사용자 확인자 코드에 의해 확인된 통신 장치로 각각의 개인화 기상 출력 신호를 전송하는 통신 네트워크(communication network);
    를 포함하는 것으로 구성되어있는 방송 네트워크로부터 원거리에 있는 다수의 통신자 장치(communicator)들 중의 적어도 하나에 개인화 기상 출력 신호(individualized weather output signal)를 선택적으로 전송하기 위한 방송 네트워크 시스템..
  2. 제 1 항에 있어서, 다수의 위치 코드들은 동적인 공간상 위치(dynamic spatial location)들을 특정하고, 방송 네트워크는 다수의 통신자 장치들의 동적인 공간상 위치들을 나타내는 실시간 데이터를 포함하고 있는 통신자 위치 데이터베이스(communicator location database)를 더 포함하는 것으로 구성되어있는 것을 특징으로 하는 방송 네트워크 시스템.
  3. 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서, 적어도 일부의 사용자-정의 변수들내의 사용자 프로파일은 적어도 하나의 기상 내용 확인자(weather content identifier)를 포함하고 있고, 적어도 하나의 개인화 기상 출력 신호는 실시간 기상 데이터에 대응하는 기상 내용 확인자에 응답하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방송 네트워크 시스템.
  4. 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서, 다수의 위치 코드들은 고정적 위치(fixed location)들을 나타내는 것을 특징으로 하는 방송 네트워크 시스템.
  5. 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서, 다수의 사용자-정의 변수들은 시간 확인자(time identifier)를 포함하고 있고, 적어도 하나의 개인화 기상 출력 신호는 시간 확인자들 중의 하나에 의해 확인된 시간에 대응하는 실시간 기상 데이터에 응답하여 생성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 방송 네트워크 시스템.
  6. 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서, 통신 네트워크는 이동전화 네트워크를 통해 개인화 기상 출력 신호를 특정 통신자 장치로 전송하도록 되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 방송 네트워크 시스템.
  7. 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서, 사용자 확인 코드들 중의 적어도 하나는 이동전화, 호출기, 랩탑 컴퓨터 및 개인용 디지털 기기 중의 어느 하나를 확인하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방송 네트워크 시스템.
  8. 특정 사용자와 관련된 통신자 장치를 확인하는 사용자 확인자 코드를 각각 가진 사용자 프로파일을 또한 각각 포함하고 있는 다수의 사용자-정의 변수들을 사용자 입력 데이터베이스내에 입력하는 단계;
    기상 분석 유닛(weather analysis unit)은, 실시간 기상 데이터를 위치 코드들 및 공간상 범위 확인자들과 비교하여, 다수의 사용자-정의 변수들에 대해 공간상 범위 확인자에 의해 확인된, 각각의 특정 사용자에 대해 분별적인(distinct) 공간상 범위내에서 기상 정보를 포함하는 다수의 개인화 기상 출력 신호를 생성하는 단계;
    통신 네트워크(communication network)은, 사용자-정의 변수들내에 확인자 코드들과 개인화 기상 출력 신호들을 수신하는 단계; 및
    상기 통신 네트워크는, 실시간 기상 데이터에 대응하는 사용자-정의 변수내에 포함되어있는 사용자 프로파일내 사용자 확인자 코드에 의해 확인된 통신자 장치로 각각의 개인화 기상 출력 신호를 전송하는 단계;
    를 포함하는 것으로 구성되어있는, 방송 네트워크로부터 원거리에 있는 다수의 사용자들에게 기상 정보를 제공하는 방법.
  9. 제 8 항에 있어서, 통신 네트워크는 이동전화 네트워크를 통해 개인화 기상 출력 신호를 특정 통신자 장치로 전송하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  10. 제 8 항 또는 제 9 항에 있어서, 적어도 하나의 사용자 확인자 코드는 이동전화, 호출기, 랩탑 컴퓨터, 또는 개인용 디지털 기기를 확인하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  11. 제 8 항 또는 제 9 항에 있어서,
    적어도 하나의 기상 내용 확인자에 기초한 다수의 공간상 위치들의 데이터 세트를 수집하는 단계; 및
    다수의 판매자(vendor)들 중의 적어도 하나에게 데이터 세트를 출력하여 주는 단계;

    적어도 하나의 기상 내용 확인자에 기초한 다수의 사용자 프로파일들의 데이터 세트를 수집하는 단계; 및
    다수의 판매자들 중의 적어도 하나에게 데이터 세트를 출력하여 주는 단계;
    를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  13. 제 8 항 또는 제 9 항에 있어서, 다수의 위치 코드들은 동적 위치들을 특정하고, 상기 방법에서 기상 분석 유닛은 다수 통신자 장치들의 동적 공간상 위치들을 표시하는 실시간 데이터를 수신하는 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  14. 제 8 항 또는 제 9 항에 있어서, 다수의 사용자-정의 변수들을 사용자 입력 데이터베이스에 입력하는 단계에서, 적어도 하나의 사용자-정의 변수들 내의 사용자 프로파일은 적어도 하나의 기상 내용 확인자를 포함하며, 비교하는 단계에서, 개인화 기상 출력 신호는 실시간 기상 데이터에 대응하는 기상 내용 확인자에 응답하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
