- 前記力センサは圧電センサを備えることを特徴とする請求項14に記載の電子デバイス。
- 複数の可撓性パッドを更に備え、
各可撓性パッドは、前記力センサのうち対応する1つの力センサに結合されることを特徴とする請求項14に記載の電子デバイス。 - 筐体構造を更に備え、
前記複数の可撓性パッドは、前記筐体構造に装着されることを特徴とする請求項16に記載の電子デバイス。 - 前記筐体構造は、前記可撓性パッドが装着されたコンピュータ筐体壁を含むことを特徴とする請求項17に記載の電子デバイス。
- 前記アクチュエータと前記タッチパッド部材との間に結合された結合構造を更に備えることを特徴とする請求項17に記載の電子デバイス。
- 前記結合構造は細長い金属部材を備えることを特徴とする請求項19に記載の電子デバイス。
- 前記細長い金属部材は、湾曲部を構成する複数の部分を有することを特徴とする請求項20に記載の電子デバイス。
- 前記結合構造は機械式リンク装置を備えることを特徴とする請求項19に記載の電子デバイス。
- 前記機械式リンク装置は、少なくとも1つの部材と、前記部材の回転の中心である少なくとも1つのピボットとを備えることを特徴とする請求項22に記載の電子デバイス。
- 前記記憶処理回路は、ユーザ定義済み力信号処理設定を受信するように構成されることを特徴とする請求項12に記載の電子デバイス。
- 前記タッチセンサアレイはタッチデータを生成し、
前記記憶処理回路は、前記記憶処理回路が前記力センサ信号をどのように処理するかを制御する第1のユーザ定義済み設定を受信するように構成されると共に、
前記記憶処理回路は前記力センサ信号をどのように処理するかを制御する第2のユーザ定義済み設定を受信するように構成されることを特徴とする請求項12に記載の電子デバイス。 - タッチセンサアレイを有するタッチパッド部材と、前記タッチパッド部材に結合された力センサと、アクチュエータとを有するコンピュータトラックパッドを動作させる方法であって、
前記トラックパッドの前記タッチパッド部材と接触している外部物体の場所を前記タッチセンサアレイによって判定するステップと、
前記外部物体により前記トラックパッドの前記タッチパッド部材に加えられた力の量を前記力センサによって測定するステップと、
少なくとも一部で前記力センサにより収集されたデータに基づき、前記トラックパッドの前記タッチパッド部材に前記アクチュエータによってグローバル運動を与えるステップと、
を備えることを特徴とする方法。 - 前記アクチュエータは、前記トラックパッドの前記タッチパッド部材に動きを与えるためにアクチュエータ駆動信号により駆動され、
ユーザ定義済みドライバ設定を収集するステップと、
前記トラックパッドの前記タッチパッド部材に動きを与える場合、少なくとも一部で前記ユーザ定義済みドライバ設定に基づき、前記アクチュエータ駆動信号を生成するステップと、
を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項26に記載の方法。 - 前記ユーザ定義済みドライバ設定は、立ち下がり時間より立ち上がり時間のほうが速い非対称アクチュエータ駆動信号の使用の指定の設定を含むことを特徴とする請求項27に記載の方法。
- 前記ユーザ定義済みドライバ設定は、立ち上がり時間より立ち下がり時間のほうが速い非対称アクチュエータ駆動信号の使用の指定の設定を含むことを特徴とする請求項27に記載の方法。
- 前記ユーザ定義済みドライバ設定は、立ち上がり時間と立ち下がり時間がほぼ等しい対称アクチュエータ駆動信号の使用の指定の設定を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項29に記載の方法。
- 前記力センサは4つあり、各々は、前記トラックパッドの前記タッチパッド部材のそれぞれ対応する隅部の下方に配置され、前記力センサ信号は、アナログ力センサ信号を含み、前記トラックパッドの前記タッチパッド部材に加えられた力の量を測定するステップは、
前記4つの力センサの各々から個別のアナログ力センサ信号を収集するステップと、
前記収集されたアナログ力センサ信号を組み合わせるステップと、
を含むことを特徴とする請求項29に記載の方法。 - 前記アナログ力センサ信号を組み合わせるステップは、前記アナログ力センサ信号をデジタル平均化するステップを含むことを特徴とする請求項31に記載の方法。
- コンピュータトラックパッドシステムであって、
容量性タッチセンサアレイを含み、4つの隅部を有する矩形で剛性のタッチパッド部材と、
各々が前記4つの隅部のうち対応する1つの隅部に結合された4つの力センサと、
前記矩形で剛性のタッチパッド部材の縁部に結合部材により接続され、アクチュエータ駆動信号に応答して前記矩形で剛性のタッチパッド部材のすべてに動きを与える少なくとも1つのアクチュエータと、
前記容量性タッチセンサアレイからのタッチセンサデータと、前記力センサからのアナログ力データとを処理し、前記容量性タッチセンサアレイからの前記タッチセンサデータと、前記力センサからの前記アナログ力データとに基づき、前記アクチュエータに対して前記アクチュエータ駆動信号を生成する回路と、
を備えることを特徴とするコンピュータトラックパッドシステム。 - 前記4つの力センサの各々は、対応するアナログ力信号を生成し、前記回路は、前記4つの力センサからの前記アナログ力信号を処理して、平均力信号を生成するように構成されることを特徴とする請求項33に記載のコンピュータトラックパッドシステム。
- 前記回路は、前記平均力信号を処理することにより、ボタン押下動作と、ボタン解放動作とを識別するように構成され、前記ボタン押下動作と、前記ボタン解放動作は、ユーザにより前記矩形で剛性のタッチパッド部材に加えられた力を示すことを特徴とする請求項34に記載のコンピュータトラックパッドシステム。
- 前記回路は、前記ボタン押下動作と、前記ボタン解放動作とを識別することに応答して前記対応するアクチュエータ駆動信号を生成するように構成されることを特徴とする請求項35に記載のコンピュータトラックパッドシステム。
- 前記回路は、前記回路が前記容量性タッチセンサアレイによって同時ジェスチャ動作を検出した場合、前記ボタン押下動作と、前記ボタン解放動作とを識別することに応答する前記対応するアクチュエータ駆動信号の生成を抑止するように構成されることを特徴とする請求項36に記載のコンピュータトラックパッドシステム。
- 前記力センサはポリマー−金属複合力センサを備えることを特徴とする請求項33に記載のコンピュータトラックパッドシステム。
- 前記力センサは、前記力センサに力が加えられた場合に抵抗が変化する材料を含むことを特徴とする請求項33に記載のコンピュータトラックパッドシステム。
- 前記力センサは、前記力センサに力が加えられた場合にキャパシタンスが変化する電極を含むことを特徴とする請求項33に記載のコンピュータトラックパッドシステム。
- 前記力センサは歪みゲージを含むことを特徴とする請求項33に記載のコンピュータトラックパッドシステム。
- 前記剛性で矩形のタッチパッド部材は、
矩形の平坦なガラス層と、
前記ガラス層の少なくとも片方の面を被覆し、前記ガラス層を光が通過するのを阻止する不透明インクの層と、
を備えることを特徴とする請求項33に記載のコンピュータトラックパッドシステム。
