背景技术
触觉反馈可用于通过用户的触觉来向用户提供信息。例如,现代蜂窝电话和其他类似的电子设备可使用振动来表示各种事件,诸如在按下触摸屏或主按钮时。其他电子设备诸如游戏系统中所使用的操纵杆可在与视频游戏中的屏幕上动作进行用户交互时振动或产生力作为反馈。
然而,许多便携式电子设备在尺寸方面继续减小,而电子设备的用途和功能的数量可保持不变或增多。例如,一些蜂窝电话和数字音乐播放器被包含在小而紧凑的外壳内,该外壳包括向用户提供各种应用程序和功能的电子电路和部件。因此,在包括附加部件、电路和功能或向便携式电子设备添加附加部件、电路和功能时,空间成为一个问题。
发明内容

具体实施方式
本文所述的实施例可提供一种带体,该带体包括可被激活以向佩戴者的皮肤提供触觉刺激的一个或多个触觉致动器。电子设备可通过有线连接和/或无线连接来与一个或多个触觉致动器进行通信。电子设备可以是独立设备,或者电子设备可以可移除地或固定地附接至带体。当电子设备被附接至带体时,在带体中而不是在电子设备中包括一个或多个触觉致动器减小了电子设备的尺寸,或者可节省电子设备中的空间以用于其他部件。电子设备可为任何类型的电子设备,包括但不限于数字音乐播放器、计算设备和生物特征监视器。

图1为可与被包括在由佩戴者佩戴的带体中的一个或多个触觉致动器进行通信的电子设备的示例性框图。电子设备100可包括处理设备102、网络通信接口104、显示器106、存储器108、一个或多个传感器110和电源112。处理设备102可控制电子设备100的一些或所有操作。处理设备102可直接地或间接地与电子设备100的基本上所有部件进行通信。例如,系统总线或信号线114或其他通信机构可提供处理设备102、网络通信接口104、显示器106、存储器108、一个或多个传感器110和/或电源112之间的通信。处理设备102可被实现为能够处理、接收或发送数据或指令的任何电子设备。例如,处理设备102可为微处理器、中央处理单元(CPU)、专用集成电路(ASIC)、数字信号处理器(DSP)或此类设备的组合。如本文所述,术语“处理设备”意在涵盖单个处理器或处理单元、多个处理器、多个处理单元或其他适当配置的一个或多个计算元件。

存储器108可存储可由电子设备100使用的电子数据。例如,存储器可存储电子数据或内容,诸如音频文件、应用程序、用户偏好、定时信号、视频文件和图像、数据结构或数据库、文档以及设备和应用程序设置。存储器108可被配置用作任何类型的存储器。仅以举例的方式,存储器可被实现为随机存取存储器、只读存储器、闪存存储器、可移动存储器、其他类型的存储元件或此类设备的组合。
电子设备100还可包括基本上被定位在电子设备100上的任何位置处的一个或多个传感器110。传感器110可被配置为基本上感测任何类型的特性,诸如但不限于图像、压力、光、接触、热、移动、相对运动、生物特征数据等。例如,传感器110可为图像传感器、热传感器、光传感器或光学传感器、加速度计、压力换能器、陀螺仪、磁体、生物特征传感器等。

处理设备102可包括波形发生器124,该波形发生器被配置为动态产生适合于激活所选择的触觉致动器116以产生触觉振动的波形。在一些实施例中,处理设备102可访问存储器108以检索由波形发生器124所接收的波形数据。波形发生器124可产生用于触觉致动器116中的一个或多个触觉致动器的适当的波形。如下文将更详细描述的,适当的波形可由一个或多个触觉特征诸如频率、定时、方向和/或持续时间来确定。

又如,电子设备可包括可从用户或者一个或多个其他电子设备接收数据的一个或多个输入/输出(I/O)设备。I/O设备的一个实例是按钮,诸如主按钮、用于增大或减小音量的按钮和/或开/关按钮。I/O设备可包括触摸传感输入表面诸如触控板、一个或多个按钮、一个或多个麦克风或扬声器、一个或多个端口(诸如麦克风端口)、和/或键盘。
在一些实施例中,电子设备100中所示的部件可从设备中省略,但被包括在带体118中。除此之外或另选地,电子设备100中的一个或多个部件可在带体118中被复制。例如,处理设备可被包括在带体中并且被连接在网络通信接口122和触觉致动器116之间。
现在参见图2,其示出了被包括在图1所示的带体118中的触觉致动器的各种取向的带体的顶视图。在所示出的实施例中,三个触觉致动器116A、116B和116C各自分别沿不同的轴A1、A2和A3进行取向。触觉致动器116A、116B、116C可被嵌入带体118内,因此在图2中以虚线示出。例如,每个触觉致动器可被缝合到带体中或以粘合剂附接。带体118可由任何合适的材料诸如皮革、金属、硅胶或橡胶、尼龙和陶瓷制成。
每个致动器116A、116B、116C可被配置为产生一个或多个所选择的力、运动和/或振动响应。仅以举例的方式,触觉致动器116A可沿轴A1横向地移动或振动(即,在附图中向上和向下)。类似地,触觉致动器116B可在带体118的表面上产生力,在佩戴者的皮肤上的接触位置处可检测到该力。触觉致动器116A、116B、116C可以任何给定的布置方式分布在带体周围。
图3为被附接至包括一个或多个触觉致动器的带体的电子设备的顶视图。在一些实施例中,电子设备300可诸如利用紧固特征部或锁定特征部或者通过其他附接机构诸如口袋可移除地附接至带体300。这可允许用户将不同类型的电子设备附接至与触觉致动器304进行交互的带体。在其它实施例中,电子设备300可被固定地附接至带体302。示例性电子设备包括数字音乐播放器、生物特征监视器、计算设备和手表。
所选择的触觉致动器116可经由信号线或迹线302来接收来自电子设备300的激活信号。信号线302可嵌入带体118以及触觉致动器116中,因而在图3中以虚线示出。其他实施例可使用不同的传输机制来将激活信号传输至触觉致动器。例如,柔性电路或由导电聚合物形成的软接触焊盘可用于将激活信号传输至触觉致动器。
激活信号可被发送至单个触觉致动器或者两个或更多个触觉致动器的组。在示例性实施例中,触觉致动器116A可由自身激活,或者触觉致动器116C、116D、116E、116F可被同时激活。在另一个实施例中,触觉致动器116A到116H可一次一个地被相继激活或者按不同次序被成组激活。例如,一种次序可包括按116A、116B、116C、116D、116E、116F、116G、116H的次序一次一个地激活各个触觉致动器。又如,一种次序可包括按116A和116H、116B和116G、116C和116F然后116D和116E的次序两个一组地激活各个触觉致动器。
图4为沿图3中线4-4截取的带体和触觉致动器的横截面视图。在所示出的实施例中,触觉致动器116H为可在由箭头400所指示的方向上产生运动的电磁致动器。在其它实施例中,触觉致动器116H可仅在一个方向上产生运动。
电磁致动器116H包括卷绕在芯404周围的导线402的线圈或绕组。这种类型的致动器被称为螺线管。芯404可包括具有被定位在每对第一磁体406之间的铁磁体间隔部408的第一磁体406。当电流流过螺线管时,第一磁体404产生磁场,从而可使得致动器移动。移动的方向和速度可由流过线圈402的电流的大小和方向来控制。缓冲器410可被定位在芯的端部处,以保护相邻第一磁体406免受损坏并且免于撞击芯404的边缘。
其他实施例可对触觉致动器以不同方式进行构造。如前所述,触觉致动器可利用任何合适的触觉技术来实现,包括但不限于电磁技术、压电技术和/或电反应聚合物。
现在参见图5,其示出了被附接至包括一个或多个触觉致动器的联接带体的电子设备的顶视图。图6为图5中所示的联接带体的底视图。参考图5和6,联接带体500包括利用一个或多个销504保持在一起的多个联接件502。在一些实施例中,联接带体500可被构造成销和中央联接锁定管环带或开口销环带。
电子设备506可使用任何合适的附接机构附接至联接带体500,诸如利用被定位在电子设备每一侧以使带体保持到电子设备的弹簧杆(未示出)。在一些实施例中,触觉致动器508可被包括在带体500的一个或多个联接件502中,被包括在用于使联接件502保持在一起的一个或多个销504中,或者被包括在带体500的一个或多个销和联接件中。尽管图5仅示出贯穿联接件502的一条信号线510,但在一些实施例中,附加信号线或迹线(例如,图3中的信号线302)可通过一个或多个联接件和/或通过一个或多个销被引导至相应的触觉致动器508。

图7为用于定制带体中的一个或多个触觉致动器的触觉反馈的方法的流程图。首先,在框700处,可将事件的列表呈现给用户。事件的列表可包括可由电子设备生成或接收的事件。事件的列表可与运行在电子设备上或连接至电子设备的应用程序和/或功能相关联。可利用触觉反馈来通知带体的佩戴者该一个或多个事件。例如,在接收到电子邮件消息或文本消息时、在接收到语音邮件或呼叫时(在电子设备为移动电话的情况下)、在电源(例如,图1中的112)处于低功率状态时、在导航程序提供逐向导航时、和/或在接收到紧急警报时,可产生触觉反馈。触觉反馈可用于通知佩戴者在日历程序中所计划的即将来临的会议或活动。通知可基于事件和/或基于位置。例如,用户可接收特定事件诸如运动赛事的新闻提醒或通知。类似地,通知可涉及一个或多个特定地理位置诸如城市或附近位置。当运动传感器在家中被激活时和/或当汽车报警器被激活时,通知可与天气相关联。这些示例性事件仅为示例性的,并且触觉反馈可用于通知佩戴者该其他类型的事件。
然后,如框702所示,根据用户是否已选择事件来进行确定。如果否,则该方法结束。当事件被选择时,过程传递至框704,在此处可将一个或多个触觉特征呈现给用户。示例性触觉特征包括但不限于是否接收触觉反馈、针对触觉刺激待激活的触觉致动器的数量、待激活的一个或多个特定致动器、一个或多个触觉致动器的激活的定时、触觉反馈的频率或强度、运动的方向或类型和/或触觉反馈的持续时间。一个或多个触觉特征可作为菜单中的列表或通过一组单选按钮或对话框来呈现。在一些实施例中,对触觉特征的呈现可由某种类型的触觉刺激诸如由力或由运动来管理。用户可通过指定针对一个或多个触觉特征的特定信息来定制触觉反馈。例如,用户可指定在特定时间段内以给定强度在一个方向上的移动。
在一些实施例中,与事件相关联的一个或多个触觉特征可被设定为默认设置。例如,该默认设置可被设定为禁用触觉刺激,或被设定为用于产生最低水平的触觉反馈的给定设置。图7中所示的方法可允许用户修改默认设置。
然后,在框706处,根据用户是否已修改所选择的事件的一个或多个触觉特征来进行确定。如果否,则该方法结束。当用户已修改一个或多个触觉特征时,该方法在框708处继续,在此处,所定制的一个或多个触觉特征被接收并被存储在存储器(例如,图1中的存储器108)中。然后,在将通知发送给用户时,可使用所定制的一个或多个触觉特征。

Claims (16)
1.一种系统,包括:

2.根据权利要求1所述的系统,其中所述处理设备被包括在附接至所述带体的第一电子设备中。
3.根据权利要求2所述的系统,其中所述电子设备包括显示器。
4.根据权利要求2所述的系统,其中所述电子设备包括手表。

6.根据权利要求2所述的系统,还包括可操作地连接到所述处理设备的一个或多个传感器。
7.根据权利要求2所述的系统,其中所述电子设备包括生物特征监视器。
8.根据权利要求1所述的系统,其中所述电子设备包括网络连接接口。
9.根据权利要求8所述的系统,其中所述处理设备被包括在第二电子设备中,并且所述处理设备通过所述网络连接接口和网络连接来操作地连接到每个触觉致动器。
10.根据权利要求9所述的系统,其中所述第二电子设备包括计算设备。
11.根据权利要求1所述的系统,其中至少一个触觉致动器包括电磁致动器。
12.根据权利要求1所述的系统,其中所述带体包括由销连接在一起的多个联接件,其中至少一个连接销包括触觉致动器。
13.根据权利要求1所述的系统,其中所述带体包括由连接销连接在一起的多个联接件,其中至少一个联接件包括触觉致动器。
14.一种用于向带体的佩戴者提供触觉反馈的方法,其中所述带体包括所述带体中的至少一个触觉致动器,所述方法包括:
接收对事件的选择;
接收针对所述事件的一个或多个所选择的触觉特征;以及
使所述一个或多个所选择的触觉特征与所选择的事件相关联,其中所述一个或多个所选择的触觉特征控制至少一个触觉致动器的触觉响应。
15.根据权利要求14所述的方法,还包括在接收到对所述事件的所述选择之前显示事件的列表。
16.根据权利要求14所述的方法,还包括将相关联的一个或多个触觉特征和所选择的事件存储在存储器中。
