Abstract
Description
n=−(r/B)dB/dr

Claims (39)
- 患者支持体と、
加速器が取り付けられ、該加速器を前記患者支持体の周囲の或る範囲の位置にわたって移動可能にするガントリーとを備えた装置であって、
前記加速器が、前記範囲内の位置から患者の任意のターゲットに到達するのに充分なエネルギーレベルを有する陽子またはイオンビームを発生させるように構成されていて、
前記陽子またはイオンビームが前記加速器のハウジングから前記患者へと実質直接的に通過する、装置。 - 前記ガントリーが前記患者支持体の両側上で回転するように支持されている請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記ガントリーが前記患者支持体の両側上のベアリング上で回転するように支持されている請求項2に記載の装置。
- 前記ガントリーが、該ガントリーの回転軸から延伸する二つのアームと、前記加速器が取り付けられ前記二つのアームの間にあるトラスとを備える請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記ガントリーが360度未満の範囲の位置内でしか回転しないように制限されている請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記範囲が少なくとも180度である請求項5に記載の装置。
- 前記範囲が略180度から略330度までである請求項5に記載の装置。
- 複数の放射線防護壁を更に含み、該放射線防護壁の少なくとも一つが、前記範囲内のあらゆる位置において前記加速器からの前記陽子またはイオンビームのライン上にはなく、他の放射線防護壁よりも少ない質量で同じ放射線防護を提供するように構成されている請求項5に記載の装置。
- 前記患者支持体が、前記ガントリーの回転が制限される範囲の位置によって画定される空間を介してアクセス可能である患者支持体領域上に取り付けられている請求項5に記載の装置。
- 前記患者支持体が前記ガントリーに対して相対的に移動可能である請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記患者支持体が患者の回転軸周りに回転するように構成されている請求項10に記載の装置。
- 前記患者の回転軸が鉛直である請求項11に記載の装置。
- 前記患者の回転軸が前記患者支持体上の患者のアイソセンターを含む請求項11に記載の装置。
- 前記ガントリーが、ガントリーの回転軸周りに前記加速器を回転させるように構成されている請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記ガントリーの回転軸が水平である請求項14に記載の装置。
- 前記ガントリーの回転軸が前記患者支持体上の患者のアイソセンターを含む請求項14に記載の装置。
- 前記加速器の重量が40トン未満である請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記加速器の重量が5から30トンの範囲内である請求項17に記載の装置。
- 前記加速器の占める容積が4.5立方メートル以下である請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記容積が0.7から4.5立方メートルの範囲内である請求項19に記載の装置。
- 前記加速器が、少なくとも150MeVのエネルギーレベルを有する陽子またはイオンビームを発生させる請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記エネルギーレベルが150から300MeVの範囲内である請求項21に記載の装置。
- 前記加速器がシンクロサイクロトロンを含む請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記加速器が少なくとも6テスラの磁場強度を有する磁石構造体を含む請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記磁場強度が6から20テスラの範囲内である請求項24に記載の装置。
- 前記磁石構造体が超電導巻線を有する請求項24に記載の装置。
- 前記陽子またはイオンビームが、前記加速器から患者の位置の一般領域へと直接的に通過する請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記患者支持体、前記ガントリー及び前記加速器を収容する遮蔽チャンバを更に含み、前記遮蔽チャンバの壁の少なくとも一つが、該遮蔽チャンバの他の壁よりも薄い請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記遮蔽チャンバの少なくとも一部は地中に埋められている請求項28に記載の装置。
- 患者支持体と、
加速器が取り付けられたガントリーであって、(a)患者のアイソセンターを含む水平なガントリーの軸周りに(b)360度未満の範囲の位置にわたって回転するように前記患者支持体の両側上で支持されているガントリーとを備えた装置であって、
前記患者支持体が、前記アイソセンターを含む鉛直な患者支持体の軸周りに回転可能であり、
前記加速器が、前記範囲内の位置から直接的に患者の任意のターゲットに到達する少なくとも150MeVのエネルギーレベルを有する陽子またはイオンビームを発生させるように構成されたシンクロサイクロトロンを含み、該シンクロサイクロトロンが超伝導巻線を有する、装置。 - 処置空間内に患者を支持する段階と、
加速器の出力部から前記患者内の任意のターゲットに向けて直線方向に通過する陽子またはイオンのビームを発生させる段階と、
前記直線方向を、前記患者の周囲の或る範囲の方向にわたって変化させる段階とを備えた方法。 - 患者支持体上の患者の周囲のあらゆる範囲の位置にわたって加速器を移動可能にするガントリー上に固定され、粒子ビームを発生させるように構成された加速器を備えた装置であって、
前記加速器が、前記範囲内の位置から前記患者の任意のターゲットに到達するのに充分なエネルギーレベルを有する粒子ビームを生じさせるように構成されている、装置。 - 加速器を保持し、また、該加速器を患者支持体上の患者の周囲の或る範囲の位置にわたって移動可能にするように構成されたガントリーを備えた装置であって、
前記加速器が、前記範囲内の位置から前記患者の任意のターゲットに到達するのに充分なエネルギーレベルを有する陽子またはイオンビームを生じさせるように構成されている、装置。 - 患者支持体と、
加速器が取り付けられ、該加速器を前記患者支持体上の患者の周囲の或る範囲の位置にわたって移動可能にするガントリーと、
前記患者支持体、前記ガントリー及び前記加速器を収容する壁で囲まれたエンクロージャーとを備えた構造体であって、
前記加速器が、前記範囲内の位置から前記患者の任意のターゲットに到達するのに充分なエネルギーレベルを有する陽子またはイオンビームを発生させるように構成されている、構造体。 - 患者の任意のターゲットに到達するのに充分なエネルギーレベルを有する陽子またはイオンビームを発生させるように構成された加速器を備えた装置であって、該加速器が、前記陽子またはイオンビームを前記加速器から前記患者に向けて実質直接的に通過させる向きで回転可能なガントリー上に取り付けられるのに充分小型かつ軽量である、装置。
- 少なくとも6テスラの磁場強度を生じさせ、少なくとも150MeVのエネルギーレベルを有する粒子のビームを発生させ、4.5立方メートル以下の容積を有し、30トン未満の重量を有する超伝導電磁構造体を有する医療用シンクロサイクロトロンを備えた装置。
- 前記加速器が超伝導シンクロサイクロトロンを含む請求項35に記載の装置。
- 前記超伝導シンクロサイクロトロンの磁場が6から20テスラの範囲内である請求項37に記載の装置。
- 前記壁で囲まれたエンクロージャーの表面の半分以上が地中に埋められている請求項34に記載の構造体。
