打印机的间隙调节机构,具有压纸卷筒;打印头;打印介质的传送机构;借助凸轮转动改变打印头和压纸卷筒之间间隙的间隙调节机构;驱动凸轮的脉冲马达;预先将脉冲马达的转角与打印头位置之间关系存储在表内的存储器;用于检测打印头或者探测间隙用的基准表面与压纸卷筒相接触的位置的间隙传感器;一个读表装置,用于得出当打印头按预定的间隙量从接触位置返回时对应于该返回量的脉冲马达的转角;以及一个使脉冲马达的转角对应于返回量的马达转动控制装置。

Description

打印机的间隙调节机构
技术领域
本发明涉及打印机的间隙调节机构。
背景技术
普通的自动控制头部间隙机构中采用了偏心轴,在打印过程中,打印头或探测纸张厚度的基准表面暂时压住纸张,然后由间隙传感器探测间隙。然后打印头按预先存储的预定脉冲量由纸张表面返回,这样就能调定适宜的间隙。但是在探测薄纸张时和探测厚纸张时,与带动偏心轴的脉冲马达的预定脉冲有关的头部间隙的返回量是不同的。不可能根据纸张厚度的不同获得适宜的间隙。
发明内容
本发明的目的是解决现有技术的上述问题,提供一种能随时调节压纸卷筒与打印头之间的间隙量的头部间隙调节机构。
为了实现上述目的,本发明提供了一种打印机的间隙调节机构含有:一个压纸卷筒;一个与压纸卷筒对置的打印头;一个在压纸卷筒与打印头之间传送打印介质的介质传送机构;一个通过转动凸轮来改变打印头与压纸卷筒间的间隙的间隙调节机构;一个用来带动凸轮的脉冲马达;一个用来将脉冲马达的转角与打印头的位置之间的关系预先存储在一个表中的装置;一个固定在安装在打印头上的托架上的、用于检测打印头(或用来检测间隙用的基准面)与压纸卷筒相接触的位置的间隙传感器;一个用于读表查出对应于打印头从接触位置返回一预定间隙值时的脉冲马达转角的装置;和一个用来使脉冲马达转动一个与返转量相对应的转角的控制机构。
根据上面所述的间隙调节方法,根据间隙传感器检测出一个间隙时偏心轴的角度来改变用于返回打印头的脉冲量,因此,不管记录介质的厚度如何,在偏心轴的整个转动区都可获得一个恒定的头部间隙。

具体实施方式
以下参考图1至7说明用来调节打印机的压纸卷筒与打印头之间的头部间隙的调节机构。
图1示出普通打印机的头部间隙调节机构外形的侧视图。图1中标号501为压纸卷筒,502为记录纸,503为传送记录纸的传送辊,504为打印头,505为安装打印头的托架,506为引导托架的固定导轴,507为偏心轴,508为带动偏心轴的脉冲马达,509为传感器护板,以及510为凸轮传感器。
安置在固定位置的压纸卷筒501与打印头504之间形成了头部间隙“g”。该头部间隙“g”的控制方式如下。当脉冲马达508启动时,偏心轴507转动。由于偏心轴507的转动,安装有打印头504的托架505绕固定导轴506转动,从而使打印头504接近或离开压纸卷筒501。这样就可以调节头部间隙“g”。
在上述头部间隙的普通自动调节方式中,头部间隙的变化与驱动偏心轴的脉冲马达的转角的关系,可以用图2所示的正弦曲线来表示。在调节头部间隙时,需要确认偏心轴(凸轮)的原始位置(如图2所示)。通常,如图1所示,当偏心轴507的位置被图1所示的凸轮传感器510直接探测出时,凸轮的原始位置即被探测出。
按照上述的普通方法,即当偏心轴507的位置被凸轮传感器510直接探测出时,凸轮的原始位置即被探测出,这种方法需要有较昂贵的凸轮传感器510,还需要控制偏心轴507与凸轮传感器510之间的相对位置关系。故这种控制是复杂的,并且探测原始位置的精度在很大程度上受控制结果的影响。
在普通的自动控制头部间隙机构中采用了偏心轴,在打印过程中适宜的间隙测定方式如下。打印头或探测纸张厚度的基准表面暂时压住纸张,然后由间隙传感器探测间隙。然后打印头按预先存储的预定脉冲量由纸张表面返回,这样,就能调定适宜的间隙(如图6所示)。
上述间隙控制方法的优越性在于,采用简单而便宜的偏心轴即可容易地调节间隙量。然而,在上述间隙控制方法中也可能产生下列缺点。如图6所示,探测薄纸张时和探测厚纸张时,与带动偏心轴的脉冲马达的预定脉冲有关的头部间隙的返回量是不同的。不可能根据纸张厚度的不同获得适宜的间隙。这就是说,例如图6,在薄纸张探测时,打印头按预定脉冲量返回的返回量A大,而在厚纸张探测时,打印头按预定脉冲量返回的返回量B小。
图3示出本发明打印机的头部间隙调节机构的主要部分的透视图。在图3中标号506为固定导轴,507为截面呈圆形的偏心轴,511,512为分别与偏心轴上部和下部接触的支承板,513为簧片,514为传感器护板的支承销,515为传感器护板的转动销,516为托架505的基准表面,517为传感器护板,以及518为间隙传感器。
簧片513将支承板511压向偏心轴507。因此,偏心轴507在支承板511和512之间的晃动可被缓冲。
在图1和5中,在探测位于固定位置的压纸卷筒501与打印头504之间的头部间隙“g”时(如图1所示),首先,使偏心轴507转动,托架505的基准表面压住压纸卷筒501上的纸张502。当偏心轴507继续转动时,如图3所示,上支承板512向上推,以及传感器护板517离开支承销514并开始绕转动销515转动。当间隙传感器518探测出传感器护板517时,便可判断托架505的基准表面516已与纸张502接触。在间隙传感器518进行探测后,偏心轴507反转,使基准表面516、也就是打印头504从纸张502返回一个预定的量。
在本发明中,不使用图1所示的凸轮传感器510,但使用图4所示的方法来调定头部间隙的初始位置。具体地说,头部间隙的初始位置按下列方式调定。借助自动探测头部间隙机构用的间隙传感器518在脉冲马达508沿一个方向转动的情况下探测出一个间隙时便得出马达的转角X1,并且在脉冲马达518沿相反方向转动的情况下用间隙探测器518探测出一个间隙时又得出马达的转角X2。两个转角的中点(X1-X2)/2就确定为初始位置。
如同上述,按照本发明,即使不使用凸轮传感器510,也可容易地测定出初始位置。由于不需要凸轮传感器510,设备的成本能够降低。再者,不需要控制偏心轴507与凸轮传感器510之间的相对位置关系。所以,可进一步降低成本。
图5所示为具有头部间隙自动调节机构的打印机外形的侧视图。与图1所示的方式相同,标号501为压纸卷筒,502为记录纸,503为传送记录纸的传送辊,504为打印头,505为安装打印头的托架,506为引导托架的固定导轴,507为偏心轴,508为带动偏心轴的脉冲马达。
在普通的设备中将预定的脉冲量存储起来,以便在托架的基准表面暂时压住纸张后使打印头返回以探测出间隙,而在上述的自动控制头部间隙的机构中,与普通设备不同,其间隙的调节是按表1和图7所示程序进行的。
(1)首先,在制造打印机的过程中,当托架的基准面在压纸卷筒和打印头之间未馈送纸张的情况下压住压纸卷筒时,测定出压纸卷筒和打印头之间的间隙。此时,存储一个马达转角或脉冲量(例如,170),并且存储一个代表打印头位置的值(-0.10)。与此同时,还在只读存储器内存储示于表1的代表打印头对应于马达每一转角的位置的表值(A·CosX+B)。

       0.40值存储在只读存储器内。
(2)之后,打印头按预定的间隙量从与压纸卷筒接触的位置返回。此时,例如脉冲量为162,代表打印头位置的值为0.30。
(3)之后,值0.30-(-0.10)=0.40,它是表值(A·CosX+B)与原始表值之差,作为调节值存储在只读存储器内。
(4)当记录纸真实地送出和间隙自动调节后,脉冲马达沿一个方向转动,以便使打印头的间隙减小。在间隙传感器探测出间隙后,便可在表1读出用传感器进行探测时对应于马达转角的表值(例如,30)。该值确定为X(2.57)。将存储在只读存储器内的调节值(0.40)加到X值上。因此调节值确定为Y(2.57+0.40=2.97)。
(5)将数据表与Y值比较,并得出高于Y的值。此时马达的转角可由数据表读出。该值确定为Z(3)。
(6)之后使马达沿一个方向转动Z量,使打印头与记录纸脱离。这样,就可提供适宜的间隙量。
按照上述的头部间隙调节方法,返回打印头的脉冲数目取决于用间隙传感器进行间隙探测的情况下的偏心轴的角度。因此,不管记录纸的厚度如何,都可在偏心轴全部转动范围内获得恒定的头部间隙。
如上所述,与普通的设备比较,可扩大同一偏心轴所允许的记录纸厚度的范围。不需要针对允许的记录纸的厚度范围来增加偏心轴的偏心度。结果,马达的尺寸可缩小。

1.一种打印机的间隙调节机构,它具有:一个压纸卷筒;一个与压纸卷筒对置的打印头;一个在压纸卷筒与打印头之间传送打印介质的介质传送机构;一个借助凸轮转动改变打印头和压纸卷筒之间间隙的间隙调节机构;一个驱动凸轮的脉冲马达;一个用来预先将脉冲马达的转角与打印头位置之间关系存储在表内的存储器;一个固定在安装在打印头上的托架上的、用于检测打印头或者探测间隙用的基准表面与压纸卷筒相接触的位置的间隙传感器;一个读表装置,用于得出当打印头按预定的间隙量从接触位置返回时对应于该返回量的脉冲马达的转角;以及一个使脉冲马达的转角对应于返回量的马达转动控制装置。
