Abstract

PURPOSE:To raise the transfer efficiency of a data bus system, by setting a value of data word length of a data transfer started by a command, with a numerical value designated by the command which is transmitted from a bus control device. CONSTITUTION:A data transfer system is constituted of a bus control device 11 connected to one serial data bus line 15, and terminal equipments 12-14. When a synchronizing bit of a command word CW transmitted from the device 11 has been detected by a modulator and demodulator (MODEM)33 of the terminal equipment, a CW signal C1 is sent to a register 35, and in the register 35, a value C4 of set CW length is inputted to the MODEM33. The MODEM33 assembles CW in accordance with the value C4, and sends it to an interface circuit 34. The circuit 34 outputs a data word DW length setting data C3 contained in CW, to a register 36. When a synchronizing bit of DW is detected by the MODEM33, a DW signal C2 is outputted to the register 36. The register 36 inputs a value C5 of set DW length to the MODEM33, and the MODEM33 assembles DW in accordance with the value C5, and outputs it.
