- the dehydrochlorination is generally carried out at a pressure of at least 0.08 bar absolute. Often this pressure is at least 0.1 bar absolute. Preferably it is at least 0.2 bar absolute. In the process for producing the epoxide according to the invention, the dehydrochlorination is generally carried out at a pressure of at most 25 bar absolute. Preferably it is at most 6 bar absolute. In a first particular variant, the pressure is 0.4 to 0.8 bar absolute. In a second particular variant, the pressure is 1 to 3 bar.
- the epoxide formed in the dehydrochlorination process of chlorohydrin can be removed as it is formed by distillation or stripping.
- the stripping can be carried out using any gas inert with respect to the epoxide. It is preferred to perform this stripping with water vapor.
- the content of halogenated ketones of the epoxide is usually less than or equal to 0.01% by weight, preferably less than or equal to 0.005% by weight and very particularly preferably less than or equal to 0.003% by weight. .
- the epoxide contains at least 0.0001% by weight of halogenated ketones.
- the invention thus also relates to an epoxide whose content of halogenated ketones is less than or equal to 0.01% by weight.

This composition consists, at this temperature and pressure of 28% by weight of water and 72% by weight of chloroacetone.
- the denser organic phase contains 95% by weight of chloroacetone and 5% by weight of water while the aqueous phase contains 5% by weight of chloroacetone and 95% by weight of water.

Steam is introduced into the reactor base (27) via the line (28).

It has been proved that it is possible to economically increase the capacity of epoxide manufacturing plants from fossil raw materials without increasing consumption of these raw materials.
