Claims (16)
- プレチャンバを画成するプレチャンバハウジングと;
前記プレチャンバハウジング内の一端に配設された絶縁体と;
前記プレチャンバハウジング内に設けられた中心電極であって、前記絶縁体に囲まれた第1の部分を有すると共に、前記絶縁体から前記一端に対向する他端に向けて延在する第2の部分を有する中心電極と;
前記プレチャンバハウジング内に設けられた接地電極とを備え;
前記接地電極は、前記中心電極を囲むように間隔を置いて配置されて前記中心電極との間にスパークギャップを形成する電極部分と、前記電極部分から前記中心電極を越えて前記他端の方向に延在する筒状部分とを有し;
前記プレチャンバハウジングの他端側は、燃料混合気の第1の流れを前記筒状部分の内部へ方向付けるように構成される中央ポートと、燃料混合気の第2の流れを前記筒状部分の外側へ方向付けるように構成される外縁ポートとが形成されて構成された;
プレチャンバスパークプラグ。 - 前記電極部分の前記中心電極に隣接する一部分は、白金合金、ロジウム合金、ニッケル合金、及びイリジウム‐ロジウム合金の内の一を備える層を含む、請求項1に記載のプレチャンバスパークプラグ。
- 前記電極部分の前記中心電極に隣接する一部分は、タングステン合金、イリジウム合金、イリジウム‐ロジウム合金、及びニッケル合金の内の一を備える層を含む、請求項1に記載のプレチャンバスパークプラグ。
- 前記中心電極の前記電極部分に隣接する一部分は、白金合金、ロジウム合金、ニッケル合金、及びイリジウム‐ロジウム合金の内の一を備える層を含む、請求項1乃至請求項3のいずれか1項に記載のプレチャンバスパークプラグ。
- 前記中心電極の前記電極部分に隣接する一部分は、タングステン合金、イリジウム合金、イリジウム‐ロジウム合金、及びニッケル合金の内の一を備える層を含む、請求項1乃至請求項3のいずれか1項に記載のプレチャンバスパークプラグ。
- 前記接地電極は、前記プレチャンバハウジングに取り付けられたアウターリングと、前記電極部分と前記アウターリングとを接続する複数のスポークとを有する;
請求項1乃至請求項5のいずれか1項に記載のプレチャンバスパークプラグ。 - 前記接地電極は、前記電極部分から径方向の外側に突出し、それぞれの端部が前記プレチャンバハウジングに取り付けられた複数のスポークを有する;
請求項1乃至請求項5のいずれか1項に記載のプレチャンバスパークプラグ。 - 前記複数のスポークのそれぞれの形状は、前記複数のスポークの間の空間における気体の流通を可能とするように構成される、請求項6又は請求項7に記載のプレチャンバスパークプラグ。
- 前記外縁ポートは、前記プレチャンバ内への燃料混合気の第2の流れを前記プレチャンバを中心とする前記プレチャンバ内へのスワール流れとするように構成される、請求項1乃至請求項8のいずれか1項に記載のプレチャンバスパークプラグ。
- 前記外縁ポートはそれぞれ長手方向軸を有し、前記外縁ポートの長手方向軸が前記プレチャンバスパークプラグの長手方向軸に対して垂直でも平行でもなく、前記プレチャンバスパークプラグの前記長手方向軸と交差しないように、複数の前記外縁ポートが角度を有するように構成された、請求項1乃至請求項9のいずれか1項に記載のプレチャンバスパークプラグ。
- 前記電極部分は、前記中心電極の先端から前記他端より遠ざかるように軸方向に延在するように構成された、請求項1乃至請求項10のいずれか1項に記載のプレチャンバスパークプラグ。
- 前記プレチャンバハウジングは、シェルと、前記シェルに取り付けられた端部キャップとを有する;
請求項1乃至請求項11のいずれか1項に記載のプレチャンバスパークプラグ。 - 内燃エンジンにおける燃焼を可能とする方法であって:
プレチャンバスパークプラグのプレチャンバ内で燃料混合気に点火するステップを備え;
前記プレチャンバ内で前記燃料混合気に点火するステップは:
第1のポートを通して前記プレチャンバの前チャンバ内への前記燃料混合気の第1の量の流れを受けるステップと;
火炎核を生成するように前記燃料混合気を点火するステップと;
前記火炎核を前記プレチャンバの後チャンバへ移動させるステップと;
第2のポートを通して前記前チャンバ内に前記燃料混合気の第2の量の流れを受け、前記燃料混合気の第2の量の流れが後チャンバに流れてその中の前記火炎核により点火するステップとを備え;
前記燃料混合気の第1及び第2の量の点火が、前記第1及び第2のポートからの火炎噴流をもたらし;
前記プレチャンバスパークプラグは接地電極を含み、前記接地電極は中心電極に近接する位置に設けられた筒状部分を含み、前記筒状部分は前記プレチャンバスパークプラグの長手方向軸と平行に軸方向にかつ前記中心電極を越えて延在するように設けられ;
前記燃料混合気の第1の量は前記筒状部分の内部を通って流れると共に、前記燃料混合気の第2の量は前記筒状部分の外部の周りを流れるように構成された;
方法。 - 前記第1のポートを通して前記燃料混合気の第1の量の流れを受けるステップは、前記プレチャンバスパークプラグの端部の中央孔を通して前記流れを受けるステップを備える、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 前記第2のポートは、前記プレチャンバスパークプラグの中心長手方向軸に対して平行でも垂直でもなく、交差しない長手方向軸を有するポートを通した流れを受けるステップを備える、請求項13又は請求項14に記載の方法。
- 前記第2のポートを通して前記燃料混合気の第2の量の流れを受けるステップは、前記プレチャンバにおいて前記燃料混合気の第2の量の乱流を発生するステップを備える、請求項13乃至請求項15のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
