最近、掃引ソースレーザの繰り返し率の複数の増加が、低デューティサイクルの掃引ソースレーザの光バッファリングにより達成されている。これらの構成において、キロメートル長さおよび場合により、ファイバー遅延ラインの複数の事例が典型的に、適切な光バッファリングを達成するために利用される。実装バッファリングが4×より大きく計画される場合、ファイバー遅延ラインの長さおよび数は、実装するのが冗長になり、管理することが困難になり得る。OCTイメージングのための掃引ソースレーザは、最大16×までのバッファスキームで実証されている(例えば、非特許文献1を参照のこと)。

    前記少なくとも1つの第1の電磁放射線を受信し、前記少なくとも1つの第1の電磁放射線を、第2の特有の期間で経時的に変化する周波数を有する少なくとも1つの第2の電磁放射線に変更するように構成される少なくとも1つの第2のハードウェア構成と、
    を備え、
    前記第2の特有の期間は前記第1の特有の期間より短く、
    少なくとも1つの第2の構成は、前記第1の特有の期間とほぼ同じである前記少なくとも1つの第1の電磁放射線についての往復伝播時間を有する共振空洞を含む、
    少なくとも1つの電磁放射線を提供する装置。
