Description
本実施の形態では、利便性または信頼性に優れた新規なデバイスとして、屈曲できる箇所を複数有する表示部を備えた電子機器の一例を図1、図2、図3、図4、図5、図6、図17、及び図18を用いて説明する。以下に電子機器を構成する個々の要素について説明する。なお、これらの構成は明確に分離できず、一つの構成が他の構成を兼ねる場合や他の構成の一部を含む場合がある。
本実施の形態では、実施の形態1と一部異なる例を図7に示す。なお、図2と同一の箇所には同一の符号を用い、その同一の箇所の詳細な説明は省略することとする。
実施の形態1では、第1の可撓性フィルム143及び第2の可撓性フィルム144を用いた表示部を示しており、本実施の形態では、剥離法を用いて可撓性を有する表示パネルを作製する例を示す。本実施の形態では剥離層を用いて作製する例を以下に示す。
図11(A1)に発光装置の平面図を示し、図11(B)に、図11(A1)の一点鎖線X3−Y3間の断面図を示す。図11(B)に示す発光装置は塗り分け方式を用いたトップエミッション型の発光装置である。本実施の形態において、発光装置は、例えば、R(赤)、G(緑)、B(青)の3色の発光ユニットで1つの色を表現する構成や、R(赤)、G(緑)、B(青)、W(白)の4色の発光ユニットで1つの色を表現する構成等が適用できる。色要素としては特に限定はなく、RGBW以外の色を用いてもよく、例えば、イエロー、シアン、マゼンタなどで構成されてもよい。
図11(A2)に発光装置の平面図を示し、図11(C)に、図11(A2)の一点鎖線X4−Y4間の断面図を示す。図11(C)に示す発光装置はカラーフィルタ方式を用いたボトムエミッション型の発光装置である。
図13(A1)に発光装置の平面図を示し、図13(B)に、図13(A1)の一点鎖線X5−Y5間の断面図を示す。図13(A1)に示す発光装置はカラーフィルタ方式を用いたトップエミッション型の発光装置である。
図13(A2)に発光装置の平面図を示し、図13(C)に、図13(A2)の一点鎖線X6−Y6間の断面図を示す。図13(A2)に示す発光装置はカラーフィルタ方式を用いたトップエミッション型の発光装置である。
本実施の形態では、本発明の一態様の入出力装置の構成について、図14および図15を参照しながら説明する。
本実施の形態で説明する入出力装置500は、可視光を透過する窓部14を具備し且つマトリクス状に配設される複数の検知ユニット20U、行方向(図中に矢印Rで示す)に配置される複数の検知ユニット20Uと電気的に接続する走査線G1、列方向(図中に矢印Cで示す)に配置される複数の検知ユニット20Uと電気的に接続する信号線DLならびに、検知ユニット20U、走査線G1および信号線DLを支持する可撓性の第1の基材16を備える可撓性の入力装置100と、窓部14に重なり且つマトリクス状に配設される複数の画素502および画素502を支持する可撓性の第2の基材510を備える表示部501と、を有する(図14(A)乃至図14(C)参照)。
本実施の形態では、本発明の一態様の入出力装置の検知ユニットに用いることができる検知回路の構成および駆動方法について、図16を参照しながら説明する。
本実施の形態では、外装体としてフィルムを用いて積層型のリチウムイオン二次電池を作製する例を示す。積層型のリチウムイオン二次電池は、実施の形態1の図4に示すバッテリー117に相当する。
本実施の形態では、実施の形態1と一部異なる例を図25に示す。
本実施の形態では、本発明の一態様の電子機器が有する表示パネルに適用可能なタッチパネルの駆動方法の例について、図面を参照して説明する。
図26(A)は、相互容量方式のタッチセンサの構成を示すブロック図である。図26(A)では、パルス電圧出力回路601、電流検出回路602を示している。なお図26(A)では、パルス電圧が与えられる電極621、電流の変化を検知する電極622をそれぞれ、X1−X6、Y1−Y6のそれぞれ6本の配線として示している。また図26(A)は、電極621および電極622が重畳することで形成される容量603を図示している。なお、電極621と電極622とはその機能を互いに置き換えてもよい。
図28(A)は、一例として表示装置の構成を示すブロック図である。図28(A)ではゲート駆動回路GD、ソース駆動回路SD、画素pixを示している。なお図28(A)では、ゲート駆動回路GDに電気的に接続されるゲート線x_1〜x_m(mは自然数)、ソース駆動回路SDに電気的に接続されるソース線y_1〜y_n(nは自然数)に対応して、画素pixではそれぞれに(1,1)〜(n,m)の符号を付している。
図29(A)〜(D)は、一例として図26(A)、(B)で説明したタッチセンサと、図28(A)、(B)で説明した表示装置とを1sec.(1秒間)駆動する場合に、連続するフレーム期間の動作について説明する図である。なお図29(A)では、表示装置の1フレーム期間を16.7ms(フレーム周波数:60Hz)、タッチセンサの1フレーム期間を16.7ms(フレーム周波数:60Hz)とした場合について示している。
本実施の形態では、本発明の一態様の電子機器が有する表示パネルに適用可能なタッチパネルの構成と、駆動方法の一例について、図面を参照して説明する。
図31は、以下で例示するタッチパネルの構成例を示すブロック図である。図31に示すように、タッチパネル90は表示装置900、制御回路910、カウンタ回路920、タッチセンサ950を有する。
図32(A)は、画素PIXの構成例を示す回路図である。画素PIXはトランジスタTR1、トランジスタTR2、発光素子EL、容量素子Capを有する。
以下、図33も示すタイミングチャートを用いて、動画表示を行う第1のモードと、静止画表示を行う第2のモードによる表示を行うタッチパネル90の動作を説明する。図33には、垂直同期信号(Vsync)、およびソースドライバ903からソース線L_Yに出力されるデータ信号(Vdata)の信号波形を示す。
