Abstract

Description
空気流発生器50は外側にLCDスクリーン58及びユーザがそれを用いて本ユニットの動作パラメータを設定することのできる関連するキー59も備えている。
空気流発生器50は2つのパーツである上部ケース60及び底部ケース61として成形された硬質プラスチック材料の外部ケースを有する。上部ケース60の下方端は段状であり、底部ケース61の周囲と結合するように62(図9)にフランジが付いている。
筐体64はオーバーモールドされた密封フランジ63の内側周囲部と係合するようにその下端周囲にフランジが取り付けられた周囲壁69と共に形成されている。筐体64は以下に示すようなファン90がその中に設けられた下方に延びるファン空洞70を含む。この空洞70は、挿入された鋼製ライナー槽73周囲に熱可塑性プラスチックの内部層及び外部層を成形することによって形成された、成形された側壁71及びベース72によって形成されている。この槽はステンレス鋼、ニッケルめっき軟鋼、又は他の適した耐食性金属であってよい。ファン空洞70はファン90を挿入できるように筐体64の上面に開放されており、この開口部は蓋74によって閉じられる。
電源空洞65の上部は筐体64の屋根から下方に延びる側壁75によって形成され、この側壁はこの空洞の下方部分の反対の壁を密封的に係合する。この下方の壁はこの目的のために共成形又はオーバーモールドされたゴム製封止フランジ76を備えていることが好ましい。この電源コンパートメントはこのようにして、加湿器からの逆流がある場合にはユニット内部からの湿気の進入に対して密封される。同じく、空気経路は電源コンパートメントから密封される。これと同時に内部は電源空洞から音響的に密封されるが、空洞の後壁及び前壁の開口部78及び80内にそれぞれ設けられたコネクタ77及び79を介して加湿器に主電力入力及び低電圧の電力出力を加湿器に提供する必要性があるために、及び必要に応じて冷却のためにコンパートメントの外気との通気のために、外部から完全に密封されなくてよい。これによって組立時間は短縮され、デバイス全体をより小さくすることが可能となる。
図8を参照すると、ファン90及びファンハウジング93、94が筐体のファン空洞70内に収まり、電源PCBの上部にある電気的コネクタ26と接続される。ファンハウジングのベース94をエラストマーでオーバーモールドすることによって、ハウジングが密封され、ファンハウジングベースの音響減衰が提供され、ユニットが衝突されるか又は落とされる場合にファンを防護するバンプストップとして働く脚がベースの底部上に形成される。
上部ケースの後部壁内には空気入口84も設けられており、これは電源空洞65の上部部分の屋根の上の筐体内に形成された空気入口通路85に通じており、次にこの通路は筐体のファン空洞の底部を囲繞する第1の消音器空洞134に向かって開放されている。
ここで、図12及び図13に示すファンのフィーチャを説明することが都合がよいであろう。
キーパッド59、計器盤127、及び運搬用ハンドル128は上部ケース60に取り付けられている。
図14〜21に示すように、加湿器150は空気流発生器50への取付け及び取外しが簡単になるように構成されたベースユニットを含んでおり、これは次に該ベースユニットに取付け可能かつそこから取外し可能である水容器用架台を形成する。
発生器のPCBは加湿器に近接する端部に、空気流発生器ケースの端面からの光の周期的な閃光を放出する光送信器200及び加湿器の有無を検出する光センサ201を備えている。加湿器の後面は、空気流発生器PCBが加湿器の存在を検出し、それに応じて制御アルゴリズムを調節するように、加湿器が空気流発生器に取り付けられるときに送信器からセンサまでの光路を完成する湾曲状反射器202を含んでいる。
ヒータパッドは下部パーツ806及び上部パーツ800ならびにヒータパッドカバー632を備える。
水容器は水槽698、シール699、及び水槽蓋700から構成される。
図17〜19は加湿器蓋648の下側及びU字形通路718及び加湿空気出口開口部716の周囲で水槽蓋700に密封を提供するシール676を示している。図18及び19に示すように、シール676は端部シール部分676a及び膜部分676bを含む。
加湿器は患者への空気供給湿度の調整を可能にする制御ノブを備える。湿度設定が高くなると、水容器の温度はヒータへの電力を大きくして加湿器を出ていく空気の湿度を上げることによって増大される。制御ノブは滑らかに可変する制御、すなわち一続きの離散した湿度設定を有してよく、電力がヒータパッドに供給されない「オフ」設定を有するであろう。湿度設定とヒータへの電力との相関はPCB804上の回路によって制御される。
図24は患者に特定の事象、例えばそれらのマスクを交換するとき、Data Card(それらのデバイスがData Cardを使用可能な場合)を挿入するとき等をアラートするように多数のリマインダを設定するためのリマインダメニューのフローチャートである。それは特別にカスタマイズされたリマインダを設定するのに使用することもできる。

前記水槽を前記ベース内部に載置するステップと、
前記水槽を所定位置に保持するために且つ前記水槽の入口及び出口を前記ベースに対して密封するために、前記ベースの可動式蓋を閉じるステップであって、これにより前記患者が前記ベースと前記水槽との間に管状の相互接続部が確立されることなく、前記ベースの入口から前記ベースの出口に延在している密封された空気流路を確立する前記ステップと、
を備えていることを特徴とする方法。 - 前記蓋を開くステップと、
前記水槽を前記ベースから取り除くステップと、
前記水槽に水を充填するステップと、
前記水槽を前記ベースの後方に配置し、前記蓋を閉じるステップと、
を備えていることを特徴とする請求項34に記載の方法。 - 前記水槽に水を充填するステップが、前記治療装置から空気送出導管を取り外すこと、及び前記水槽の蓋を前記水槽のベースから分離することを必要としないことを特徴とする請求項35に記載の方法。
- 前記水槽の前記入口に隣り合っている入口シールと、前記水槽の前記出口に隣り合っている空気出口シールとを準備するステップを備えていることを特徴とする請求項36に記載の方法。
- 前記蓋が、旋回可能とされることを特徴とする請求項34〜37のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記水槽と前記ベースとの間にシール部を確立することを補助するために加圧空気を利用するステップを備えていることを特徴とする請求項34〜38のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記水槽と前記ベースとの間のシールが、前記水槽の前記入口及び前記出口を囲んでいる表面それぞれを前記ベースに取り付けられているシールそれぞれに当接することによって確立されていることを特徴とする請求項34〜39のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
