使用時には、スプレーノズル140を介して水が散布され、ハンドレール126を冷却する。タンク132は水の排水口を含んで構成され、水は排出されるか、あるいは冷却ユニットを通って入口138に循環される。スプレーノズル140からの水はハンドレール126を冷却し、ポリマを固化することができる。これによりハンドレール126のリップ強度が向上することが見出されている。この理由は充分にはわかっていないが、考えられる解釈の1つは以下の通りである。
Claims (51)
- 一定の断面を有し、第1の熱可塑性材料と、抗張体と、物品の一方の側の織物ウェブと、を含む物品の押出加工方法であって、
a)ダイ組立体に前記抗張体を供給するステップと、
b)前記ダイ組立体に前記第1の熱可塑性材料を溶融状態で供給するステップであって、前記第1の熱可塑性材料の押出温度が前記抗張体の融点よりも低いステップと、
c)前記第1の熱可塑性材料を前記抗張体と共に供給し、それにより前記抗張体を前記第1の熱可塑性材料の内部に埋設するステップと、
d)一定幅の細長い織物ウェブを供給するステップであって、前記第1の熱可塑性材料の押出温度が前記織物の融点よりも低いステップと、
e)前記第1の熱可塑性材料に対して前記織物を導入するステップであって、それにより前記第1の熱可塑性材料と、前記抗張体と、前記織物とが、複合押出物を形成するステップと、
f)前記押出物を冷却し固化させるステップと、
を含む方法。 - 前記ステップ(f)が、中間断面の状態で、かつ、前記第1の熱可塑性材料が溶融しているが安定するだけの粘性を有する前記第1の熱可塑性材料のクロスオーバ温度を超えた温度で、前記押出物を前記ダイ組立体から押し出すステップを更に含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の溶融熱可塑性材料を支持するために前記織物が敷かれた通路に沿って前記中間押出物を通過させ、前記通路に沿って前記押出物が連続的に最終の所望断面に整形される追加のステップが、前記ステップ(f)と(g)の間において更に遂行される請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記追加のステップが、前記押出物のプロフィールを決定する細長い主マンドレルの支持面上に前記織物を支えるステップを含み、前記支持面の一端は前記中間断面の一方の側に相当するプロフィールを有し、かつ前記マンドレルの前記プロフィールは長さ方向に沿って連続的に変化し、前記支持面のもう一方の端は前記最終断面の一方の側に相当するプロフィールを有する請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記押出物及び前記織物が前記マンドレルの前記支持面に対して押しつけられるようにするために真空を適用するステップを含む請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記方法が、前記最終断面を形成した後に、前記押出物を外部から冷却して充分に熱を排除し、前記押出物の外面の周りの外部層の殆どを固化させるステップを含む請求項3から5のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記方法がハンドレールを形成するステップを含み、前記織物が細長のスライダ織物を含み、前記抗張体が複数の補強用ケーブルを含み、前記第1の熱可塑性材料が熱可塑性エラストマを含み、前記追加のステップにおいて前記押出物が概ねC字型断面に形成される請求項3から6のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記中間断面が平坦な基体とそれに対して垂直に延在する側縁とを有し、前記ダイ組立体の中で前記方法が、前記織物を前記細長の基体に沿わせ、かつ前記中間断面の側縁部を覆うように折り畳むステップを含む請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記マンドレルが、垂直のステムと水平部分とから成り、前記水平部分の端部に丸い角を有し、前記ステムと前記水平部分との間に傾斜した角を有して、内部にT字型を有するC字型の前記ハンドレールの最終断面を形成できるような形状をしている請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記ハンドレールを、前記ハンドレールの外面を冷却して固化するために前記ハンドレールの外面を液体冷媒で冷却する冷却ユニットの中を通過させるステップを含み、前記液体冷媒は水を含み、冷却時に前記方法が、前記主マンドレルから延長した第2のマンドレル上に前記ハンドレールを支持するステップを含み、これにより水が前記ハンドレールの外面のみを冷却する請求項9に記載の方法。

- 一定の断面を有し、熱可塑性材料と、物品の一方の側の織物ウェブと、を含む物品の押出加工方法であって、
a)前記熱可塑性材料を溶融状態でダイ組立体に供給するステップと、
b)一定幅の細長い可撓性の織物ウェブを供給するステップと、
c)前記熱可塑性材料を材料のクロスオーバ温度より高く維持して前記材料が溶融しているが安定するだけの粘性を有する状態で、前記ダイ組立体から前記熱可塑性材料を押し出して中間断面の押出物を形成するステップと、
d)前記熱可塑性材料に対して前記織物を導入し、一定断面の物品を完成させるステップと、
を含む方法。 - 前記中間押出物を、前記熱可塑性材料を支持するために前記織物が敷かれた通路に沿って通過させ、かつ、前記物品が冷却されて固化する前に、前記押出物が前記中間断面から最終の所望断面に前記通路に沿って連続的に整形される追加のステップを、更に含む請求項14に記載の方法。
- 前記押出物のプロフィールを決定する細長い主マンドレルの支持面上に前記織物を支えるステップを含み、前記支持面は一端において前記中間断面の一方の側に相当するプロフィールを有し、かつ前記マンドレルの長さ方向に沿って連続的に変化し、前記最終断面の一方の側に相当するプロフィールとなる請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記押出物が前記マンドレルの前記支持面に押圧されるように真空を適用する請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記外面層を冷却して固化するために、前記物品を、前記物品の前記外面を液体冷媒で冷却する冷却ユニットの中を通過させるステップを含む請求項17に記載の方法。
- 連続押出によりハンドレールを形成する方法であって、
a)所望断面のハンドレールを形成するために溶融状態の熱可塑性エラストマと、抗張体と、補強スライダ織物と、を結合させるステップであって、前記熱可塑性材料が初期の溶融状態であるが形状が安定するために充分粘性を有するように、前記エラストマのクロスオーバ温度より高い温度にあるステップと、
b)前記ハンドレールをその長さに沿って前記外面から冷却し、前記ハンドレールの前記外面の周りの殆どの外部層を固化させ、かつ、その後に前記ハンドレールの前記内面を冷却、固化してリップ強度を向上させるために前記ハンドレールにプレストレスを与えるステップと、

- 前記押出物のプロフィールを画成する細長の主マンドレルを含み、一端における前記支持面が、前記出口ダイから出た直後の前記押出物の中間断面に相当するプロフィールを有し、前記マンドレルの前記プロフィールがその長さに沿って連続的に変化し、前記支持面のもう一方の端において前記押出物の最終断面の一方の側に対応するプロフィールを有する請求項23あるいは24に記載の装置。
- 前記マンドレルが、前記支持面における複数の開口と、真空源に接続するための前記開口と連通する穴とを含み、前記真空源は、前記押出物に真空を作用させて前記マンドレルの前記支持面に対して前記織物を押し付けさせる請求項25に記載の装置。
- 前記ハンドレールが前記主マンドレルを離れた後に前記ハンドレールの前記外面を急速に冷却するための冷却ユニットを含む請求項23から26のいずれか1項に記載の装置。
- 前記冷却ユニットが、細長のタンクと、前記ハンドレールを支持するために前記主マンドレルと同じ大きさを持つ第2のマンドレルと、前記ハンドレールの前記外面に冷却液を作用させるための液体源と、を含む請求項27に記載の装置。
- 前記流体源は、前記第2のマンドレルの上に位置する複数のノズルを含む請求項28に記載の装置。
- 前記ハンドレールが前記冷却ユニットに入った際に前記ハンドレールを冷却して被膜を形成するために、前記流体源が前記冷却ユニットの入口近くに位置する少なくとも1つのノズルを含み、かつ、前記ハンドレールの外部プロフィールを整えるために、前記ノズルより上流に少なくとも1つのローラと、前記ノズルより下流に少なくとも1つのローラを更に含む請求項28に記載の装置。
- 熱可塑性材料と抗張体とを含む一定断面の物品の押出方法であって、
a)ダイ組立体に抗張体を供給するステップと、
b)前記抗張体の融点より低い温度での溶融状態で前記熱可塑性材料を前記ダイ組立体に供給するステップと、
c)前記抗張体と前記熱可塑性材料を流れ断面積を制限された要素を介して通過させ、前記熱可塑性材料を前記抗張体の中に浸透させやすくするための背圧を発生するステップと、
を含む方法。 - 前記流れ断面積を制限された要素が、複数のスロットを有する櫛状体部を含む請求項31に記載の方法。
- 前記櫛状体が、複数の垂直スロットと少なくとも1つの水平スロットとを含み、前記抗張体が複数のケーブルを含み、前記複数のケーブルを前記櫛状体組立体の1つの水平スロットに通過させるステップを含む請求項32に記載の方法。
- 細長の可撓性織物ウェブを前記ダイ組立体の前記熱可塑性材料及び前記抗張体の流れの下に供給し、前記織物の温度をその融点より低く維持することを更に含む請求項33に記載の方法。
- 前記ダイ組立体に前記織物を有する前記押出物を支える押出物支持ブロックを設け、前記押出物支持ブロックを冷却することを含む請求項34に記載の方法。
- 前記押出物支持ブロックと前記ダイのその他の要素との間を熱的に分離し、前記押出物を前記押出物支持ブロックより高い温度に加熱するように前記ダイを加熱することを更に含む請求項35に記載の方法。
- 熱可塑性エラストマと抗張体とを含む物品を押し出すためのダイ組立体であって、
a)熱可塑性エラストマ用の第1の入口と、
b)前記抗張体用の入口と、
c)前記抗張体が前記熱可塑性エラストマの中に埋設される結合ゾーンと、
d)前記熱可塑性エラストマの前記抗張体の中への浸透を促進するために背圧を発生させる、前記熱可塑性エラストマ及び前記抗張体が通過する流れ断面積を制限された要素と、
を含むダイ組立体。 - 第2の結合ゾーンと、第2の熱可塑性ポリマ用の入口とを含み、前記第2の結合ゾーンにおいて前記第2の熱可塑性ポリマが前記第1の熱可塑性ポリマと前記抗張体の流れに一方の側から結合される請求項37に記載のダイ組立体。
- 前記熱可塑性ポリマの一方の側に接合するための細長の織物ウェブ用の入口スロットを含む請求項38に記載のダイ組立体。
- 押出物支持ブロックを含み、前記織物が前記押出物支持ブロックの上を通過して前記押出物を支持するように前記ダイ組立体が構成されている請求項39に記載のダイ組立体。
- a)前記押出物支持ブロック用の冷却と、
b)前記押出物支持ブロックから離れている前記ダイ組立体の要素用の加熱と、
の少なくとも1つを含む請求項40に記載のダイ組立体。 - 前記押出物支持ブロックが、流体を冷やし、前記ダイ組立体の他の要素から前記冷媒支持ブロックへの熱移動を制限するための、少なくとも1つの入口と少なくとも1つの出口とを含む請求項41に記載のダイ組立体。
- 熱可塑性材料と抗張体とを含む一定断面の物品の押出方法であって、
a)ダイ組立体に抗張体を供給するステップと、
b)前記抗張体の融点より低い温度での溶融状態で前記熱可塑性材料を前記ダイ組立体に供給し、前記抗張体が前記熱可塑性材料の中に埋設されるステップと、
c)細長の織物ウェブを前記ダイ組立体に供給し、前記織物が前記熱可塑性材料の一方の側に接合されるようにするステップと、
d)前記織物への熱移動を低減するために、
i)前記織物と接触する前記ダイ組立体を冷却するステップと、
ii)前記織物と接触する前記ダイ組立体の要素に少なくとも何らかの熱分離を
設けるステップと、
の少なくとも1つのステップと、
を含む方法。 - 前記ダイ組立体が、前記熱可塑性材料から形成され、前記抗張体を含む押出物用の出口を含み、前記出口に隣接する前記押出物に対して前記織物が導入され、前記押出物が冷却され固化する間、前記押出物を支持する請求項43に記載の方法。
- 熱可塑性材料と抗張体とを含む物品を押し出すためのダイ組立体であって、
a)熱可塑性材料用の第1の入口と、
b)前記抗張体用の入口と、
c)前記抗張体が前記熱可塑性エラストマの中に埋設される結合ゾーンと、
d)細長の織物ウェブ用の入口スロットと、
e)前記織物が前記ダイ組立体を通過する際に接触する前記ダイ組立体の要素であって、
i)前記要素用の冷却と、
ii)前記織物への熱移動を低減するために前記ダイ組立体の他の要素からの熱
的な分離と、
の少なくとも1つを含む前記ダイ組立体の要素と、
を含むダイ組立体。 - 前記ダイ組立体が、前記熱可塑性材料から形成され、前記抗張体を含む押出物用の出口を含み、前記入口スロットが前記出口に隣接するように配置されて、前記押出物が冷却され固化する間前記押出物を支持するために前記織物が前記押出物に対して導入される請求項45に記載のダイ組立体。
- 熱可塑性材料と伸長防止用のケーブルアレイとを含む物品を押し出すためのダイ組立体であって、
a)ケーブル供給用のケーブルマンドレルと、
b)前記ケーブルマンドレルに固定された少なくとも1つの第1のランナプレートであって、第1の熱可塑性材料の供給を受けるための第1の入口に接続され、前記ケーブルマンドレルから供給された前記ケーブルを埋設するように前記第1の熱可塑性材料の流れを方向づけるチャネルを含む、前記の少なくとも1つの第1のランナプレートと、
c)前記少なくとも1つの第1のランナプレートに固定された少なくとも1つ第2のランナプレートであって、第2の熱可塑性材料の供給を受けるための第2の入口に接続され、前記第1の熱可塑性材料の上に前記第2の熱可塑性材料の流れを方向づけるチャネルを含む、前記の少なくとも1つの第2のランナプレートと、
を含むダイ組立体。 - 前記少なくとも1つの第1のランナプレートと前記少なくとも1つの第2のランナプレートとの間に固定された櫛状体プレートを更に含み、前記櫛状体プレートは前記第1の熱可塑性材料の流れに背圧を生成するために流れ断面積を絞り込んだスロットを含む請求項47に記載のダイ組立体。
- 前記ケーブルマンドレル、前記少なくとも1つの第1のランナプレート、前記櫛状体プレート、及び前記少なくとも1つの第2のランナプレートのそれぞれは洗浄を容易にするために相互に分解できるように構成されている請求項48に記載のダイ組立体。
- 添付の図面を参照して以上に実質的に説明され、もしくは添付の図面に実質的に示された熱可塑性ハンドレールの押出方法。
