Claims (11)
1. Videomonitor (347; 447; 547), der eine Einrichtung zum Empfangen von
Videosignalen, einschließlich Färb-, HSYNC- und VSYNC-Signalen, von einem Host-Computer
einschließt, wobei der Videomonitor umfasst:
eine Detektoreinrichtung (339; 451; 551) zum Erfassen von
Energieverwaltungssignalen, die von dem Host-Computer gesendet werden; und
eine Energiepegel-Steuereinrichtung, die mit der Detektoreinrichtung (339; 451;
551) gekoppelt ist, um Energie von Energieverbrauchsschaltungen in dem Videomonitor
(347; 447; 547) im Ansprechen darauf, dass die Detektoreinrichtung ein
Energieverwaltungssignal erfasst, zu entfernen und Energie daran wiederherzustellen;
dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Detektoreinrichtung (339; 451; 551)
konfiguriert ist, um irgendwelche von wenigstens ersten, zweiten und dritten
Energieverwaltungssignalen, die in wenigstens einem der Färb-, HSYNC- und VSYNC-Signalen
bereitgestellt werden, selektiv zu erfassen, und die Energiepegel-Steuereinrichtung
ausgelegt ist, um Energie von den Energieverbrauchsschaltungen des Monitors selektiv zu entfernen, um einen Energieverbrauch des Videomonitors (347; 447;
547) auf wenigstens erste und zweite verringerte Energiepegel im Ansprechen auf eine
Erfassung der ersten und zweiten Energieverwaltungssignale zu verringern, und wobei
das dritte Energieverwaltungssignal ein Wiederaufhahmesignal ist und die Energiepegel-Steuereinrichtung
ausgelegt ist, um Energie an den Energieverbrauchsschaltungen des Monitors wiederherzustellen, um den Energiepegel auf den ursprünglichen
Energiezustand, der einem normalen Betrieb angepasst ist, im Ansprechen auf das
Wiederaufhahmesignal wiederherzustellen.
2. Videomonitor (347; 447; 547) nach Anspruch 1, wobei die Detektoreinrichtung
ausgelegt ist, um eine Unterbrechung von wenigstens einem der Färb-, HSYNC- und
VSYNC-Signale zu erfassen.
3. Videomonitor (347; 447; 547) nach Anspruch 1, wobei die Detektoreinrichtung
ausgelegt ist, um wenigstens zeitgestützte codierte Sequenzen von Frequenzänderungen
in den HSYNC- oder VSYNC-Signalen und/oder codierte Werte in den Farbsignalen
und/oder kein Farbsignal für eine erweiterte Periode zu erfassen.
4. Videomonitor (347; 447; 547) nach Anspruch 1, wobei die Energiepegel-Steuereinrichtung
Energie mit unterschiedlichen Energiepegeln, einschließlich eines Vollenergiepegels, eines Vollenergie-Aus-Pegels und wenigstens eines Zwischenpegels
35 bereitstellt.
5. Videomonitor (347; 447; 547) nach Anspruch 1, wobei die
Energieverbrauchsschalrungen einen Heizfaden-Erwärmer einschließen.

6. Videomonitor (347; 447; 547) nach Anspruch 1, wobei die Detektoreinrichtung
(339; 451; 551) einen Mikrocontroller (339), der Energieverwaltungs-Steuerroutinen
ausführt, umfasst.
7. Videomonitor (347; 447; 547) nach Anspruch 1, betreibbar in einem ersten
Energiemodus, der eine volle Energie an allen Energieverbrauchsschaltungen bereitstellt,
einem zweiten Energiemodus, der einen Energie-Aus-Zustand auf alle anderen Energieverbrauchsschaltungen in dem Videomonitor (347; 447; 547) außer die
Detektoreinrichtung (339; 451; 551), die Energieverwaltungseinrichtung und einen
Heizfaden-Erwärmer auferlegt, und einem dritten Modus, der einen Energie-Aus-Zustand
auf sämtliche anderen Energieverbrauchsschaltungen in dem Monitor (347; 447; 547)
außer die Detektoreinrichtung (339; 451; 551) und die Energieverwaltungseinrichtung
auferlegt.
8. Videomonitor (347; 447; 547) nach Anspruch 1 ,wobei die Detektoreinrichtung
(339; 451; 551) eine Schaltungsanordnung (551) umfasst, die in Reihe zu einem
Verbindungskabel (127) auferlegt ist, wobei das Verbindungskabel Färb-, HSYNC- und
VSYNC-Signale von einem Host-Computersystem fuhrt, und die
Energieverwaltungseinrichtung einen Schalter (553) in Reihe zu einer ersten Energieleitung (557) zu dem Monitor (347; 447; 547) umfasst, wobei der Schalter auf ein
Signal von der Energieverwaltungseinrichtung anspricht, um eine primäre Energie an dem
Monitor (347; 447; 547) aus- und einzuschalten.
9. Verfahren zum Führen einer Annahme von alternativen Energieverbrauchszuständen in einem Videomonitor (347; 447; 547), der eine
Einrichtung zum Empfangen von Videosignalen, einschließlich Färb- und/oder HSYNC-
und VSYNC-Signalen, von einem Host-Computer aufweist, wobei das Verfahren die
folgenden Schritte umfasst:
Erfassen eines Energieverwaltungssignals, das an den Videomonitor (347; 447;
547) von einem Host-Computer gesendet wird; und
Führen von einer oder mehreren Energieverbrauchsschaltungen in dem
Videomonitor (347; 447; 547), so dass sie einen verringerten Energiezustand im Ansprechen auf eine Erfassung eines Energieverwaltungssignals annehmen,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Erfassungsschritt ein selektives Erfassen von
ersten und/oder zweiten und/oder dritten Energieverwaltungssignalen in den Farb-
und/oder HSYNC- und/oder VSYNC-Signalen umfasst und der Führungsschritt ein
selektives Entfernen von Energie von den Energieverbrauchsschaltungen des Monitors,
um einen Energieverbrauch des Videomonitors (347; 447; 547) auf wenigstens erste und
zweite verringerte Energiepegel im Ansprechen auf eine Erfassung der ersten und zweiten
Energieverwaltungssignale zu verringern, umfasst, und wobei das dritte
Energieverwaltungssignal ein Wiederaufhahmesignai ist und das Verfahren ein Wiederherstellen von Energie an den Energieverbrauchsschaltungen des Monitors, um

den Energiepegel auf den ursprünglichen Energiezustand, der einem normalen Betrieb
angepasst ist, im Ansprechen auf eine Erfassung des Wiederaumahmesignals wiederherzustellen, einschließt.
10. Verfahren nach Anspruch 9, wobei der Erfassungsschritt ein Erfassen, in ersten
und zweiten Konfigurationen, einer Unterbrechung der Färb- und/oder HSYNC- und/oder
VSYNC-Signale und/oder von zeitgestützten codierten Signalen in den HSYNC- oder
VSYNC-Signalen und/oder von codierten Weiten in dem Farbsignal umfasst, und der
Führungsschritt ein Führen der Energieverbrauchsschaltungen, um einen ersten verringerten Energiezustand im Ansprechen auf ein Erfassen des ersten
Energieverwaltungssignals anzunehmen, und ein Führen der
Energieverbrauchsschaltungen, um einen zweiten verringerten Energiezustand im
Ansprechen auf ein Erfassen des zweiten Energieverwaltungssignals anzunehmen, umfasst.
11. Verfahren nach Anspruch 9, wobei der Führungsschritt ein Führen von
Energieverbrauchsschaltungen in dem Monitor (347; 447; 547), um eine volle Energie im
Ansprechen auf kein Energieverwaltungssignal bereitzustellen, Energie an Energieverbrauchsschaltungen mit Ausnahme eines Heizfaden-Erwärmers im Ansprechen
auf eine Erfassung des ersten Energieverwaltungssignals aufzuheben, und Energie an
Energieverbrauchsschaltungen einschließlich des Heizfaden-Erwärmers im Ansprechen
auf eine Erfassung des zweiten Energieverwaltungssignals aufzuheben, umfasst.
