为了方便,可使用相对性术语描述本公开,包括例如左、右、顶、底、前、后、上、下、向上、向下等等。应当理解的是这些术语仅仅用于示例的目的,并且绝不意图是限制性的。
电子装置及其电子组件10(例如图1和2所示的说明性恒温器)可易于受到静电放电(ESD)事件的影响。当例如使用者接触电子组件10并且静电从使用者排放到电子组件10时,可能发生这种ESD事件。这种ESD事件可能对电子组件10是有害的,因为ESD事件可能使电子组件10的电子部件短路或者损坏。因此,在许多情况中,希望在构造电子组件10时提供某种水平的ESD防护。
从硬件的视角,电子装置及其电子组件10可通过包括用于将静电放电安全地输送到地并且绕过电子组件10的敏感电子部件的导电路径而至少部分地针对ESD事件被保护。在许多情况中,电子组件10可包括印刷线路组件(PWA)14,其可包括接地特征,例如接地平面。当被提供时,接地平面自身可帮助将敏感电子部件从外部ESD事件屏蔽。
在一些情况中,如图2所示,说明性的电子组件10可包括壳体12、PWA14、电子部件16和导电延伸器或连接器18,其中,PWA14和电子部件16可至少部分地定位在壳体12内。在一些情况中,导电屏蔽件可被设置在PWA14附近,例如在PWA14和电子部件16之间。在图1和2所示的说明性示例中,电子部件16可以是触摸屏显示器,其自身包括导电金属背衬,该导电金属背衬可充当导电屏蔽件。如下面进一步描述的,导电屏蔽件可经由连接器18被电联接到PWA14的接地特征。
如上所述,PWA14可包括接地特征,例如接地平面或其他接地特征(例如接地点、接地终端、接地垫等)。在一些情况中,接地特征或接地平面可以是连接到PWA14的接地点的一片铜箔或其他导电材料。接地特征或接地平面可充当电流从电子组件10的电子部件的返回路径。接地特征或接地平面在图中未特别示出,而是可采取PWA14的导电层、PWA14上的终端或垫的形式或者根据需要的任何其他形式。
如上所述,并且在一些情况中,电子部件16可具有金属背衬22(例如镀锌层、金属片和/或其他金属或导电材料)、背衬的为金属的一部分、或者在电子部件16的背面附近延伸的金属特征。虽然在该示例中使用了金属背衬,所设想的是如果期望的话可以使用任何合适的导电层或屏蔽件。在一个示例中,电子部件16可以是液晶显示器(LCD)32(例如LCD触摸屏或其他装置),其至少部分地被金属盒结构包围,其中,至少背侧(例如,与液晶显示器32相对的侧面)包括金属背侧22(见图4)。在一些情况中,LCD显示器32的周边侧,甚至LCD显示器32的前侧周围的边界,可被金属盒结构覆盖。在电子部件16包括金属背衬22或在电子部件16的背面附近延伸的另一导电特征的情况下,导电延伸器或连接器18可提供金属背衬22或另一导电特征和PWA14的接地特征之间的电连接。PWA14和电子部件16之间的这种电连接可例如帮助将电子部件16的金属背衬22接地并且降低ESD事件导致安装在PWA14上或附近的电子部件损坏的机会。
在一些情况中,当安装在壳体12内时,电子部件16和PWA14可彼此间隔开。在一个示例中,金属背衬22可与PWA14和/或与PWA14上的ESD敏感部件间隔开大于约两(2)毫米、大于约三(3)毫米、大于约五(5)毫米、大于约十(10)毫米的距离或者根据需要的任何其他距离。这种间隔可提供足够的间隔以适应可能被安装到PWA的面对间隔器24和/或电子部件16的那一侧的一个或多个电子部件,并且在一些情况中可帮助消散或分布由PWA14和/或壳体内的电子部件16产生的热。
在一些情况中,为了帮助维持电子部件16和PWA14之间的间隔,可提供间隔器24,如图2-4和10-12所示。间隔器24可由任何合适的(一种或多种)材料制成。例如,间隔器24可由一种或多种聚合物或者具有期望材料性质的其他材料制成。间隔器24可由电绝缘材料制成,使得间隔器24不在PWA14上的任何导电迹线或其他部件和电子部件16之间产生短路。此外,当使用者与电子部件16相交互时以及当电子部件16可能自行工作时,间隔器24可构造成帮助支撑电子部件16。
在一些情况中,间隔器24可采取如图10所示的网状形式,并且可具有在结构部分48之间的开口46。间隔器24可具有间隔器壁42,间隔器壁42从间隔器24的一个或多个边缘延伸和/或形成间隔器24的一个或多个边缘,如图10-12所示。说明性地,间隔器壁42可沿PWA14的方向延伸和/或可沿间隔器24的整个边缘延伸或者可延伸间隔器24的边缘的部分距离,如图10-12所示。当与壳体12一起使用时,间隔器24的间隔器壁42可被形成为与壳体12配合,这可帮助提供在间隔器壁24的端部周围行进的ESD路径44,如图11所示。由于间隔器壁42增加了ESD路径44的长度,可更好地针对源自壳体12外部的ESD事件来保护PWA14。
在一些情况中,间隔器24的网状结构可允许双侧PWA14部件放置,而没有开口46的间隔器24不允许将部件放置在PWA14的邻近电子部件16的那一侧上。间隔器24中的开口46可允许部件被安装在PCB34的两侧上,而不与电子组件10的电子部件16(例如LCD32)干涉。
导电延伸器或连接器18可具有一个或多个部分26、28,如图7和8所示。说明性地,导电延伸器或连接器18可具有第一部分或连接器部分26以及第二部分或弹簧部分28(例如,柔性梁或其他特征)。在一个示例中,第一部分或连接器部分26可与第二部分或弹簧部分28形成为整体,如图7和8所示。在另一示例中,第一部分或连接器部分26可与第二部分或弹簧部分28分开地形成并且根据需要以任何方式组合起来,以形成导电延伸器或连接器18。
说明性地,导电延伸器或连接器18可具有与图7所示的导电延伸器或连接器18不同的形状。在一个示例中,导电延伸器或连接器18可具有第一部分26和第二部分28,第一部分26具有宽度W1,第二部分具有宽度W2,其中,宽度W2可具有比宽度W1更小的值,如图8所示。在该示例中,在宽度W1大于宽度W2的情况下,第二部分28可相对于第一部分26偏心定位,如图8所示,但这不是必须的。
当第一部分或连接器部分26和第二部分或弹簧部分28被组合时,导电延伸器或连接器18可具有夹子、弹簧、搭扣的形式或者具有可连接到PWA14的构造的其他形式。在一些情况中,导电延伸器或连接器18可采取夹子的形式并且可包括第一部分或连接器部分26和第二部分或弹簧部分28。第一部分或连接器部分26可构造成机械连接到PWA14,并且第二部分或弹簧部分28可构造成机械接触和电连接到金属背衬22。在一些情况中,导电延伸器或连接器18的第一部分或连接器部分26可经由表面安装技术(“SMT”)机械连接到PWA14。在其他示例中,导电延伸器或连接器18的第一部分或连接器部分26可经由不同于SMT的安装技术机械连接到PWA14。在一些说明性情况中,导电延伸器或连接器18的第一部分26可被钎焊到PWA14的表面15,使得导电延伸器或连接器18的第二部分或弹簧部分28可延伸远离PWA14的表面15并且朝向电子部件16延伸,如图5最佳示出的。在一些情况中,导电延伸器或连接器18的第一部分26可被钎焊到导电垫,例如接地平面的接地特征。
导电延伸器或连接器18可具有构造成接触电子部件16的金属背衬22的特征。在一个示例中,导电延伸器或连接器18的第二部分或弹簧部分28可具有用于接触电子部件16的金属背衬22的接触部分30。第二部分或弹簧部分28的接触部分30可采取任何形状和/或尺寸。说明性地,接触部分30可具有突起或隆起的形状,其具有升高到导电延伸器或连接器18的任何其他部分之上的顶峰,其中,作为参考,电子部件16被认为在PWA14之上。
在一些情况中,导电延伸器或连接器18可以是弹性的,使得导电延伸器或连接器18的材料和/或形状具有机械弹性性质。说明性地,导电弹性延伸器或连接器18能够在初始构造或位置(如图5最佳示出的)和铰转构造或位置(如图6最佳示出的)之间构造,在铰转构造或位置中,导电弹性延伸器或连接器18可提供返回朝向初始构造的弹性力。在导电弹性延伸器或连接器18处于铰转构造(见图6)的情况下,导电弹性延伸器或连接器18的弹性力可抵靠电子部件16的金属背衬22、PWA14或者电子部件16的金属背衬22和PWA14施加。
在导电延伸器或连接器18能够在初始构造或位置和铰转构造或位置之间构造的情况中,导电延伸器或连接器18的顶部或接触部分30和PWA14之间的距离可取决于所述构造而变化。例如,当导电延伸器或连接器18处于初始构造时,导电延伸器或连接器18的顶部或接触部分30与PWA14的距离D1可以是1.0-5.0毫米、2.2-2.8毫米、2.4-2.6毫米、2.0-2.5毫米、2.5-3.0毫米或者任何其他范围,如图5最佳示出的。当导电延伸器或连接器18处于铰转构造时,导电延伸器或连接器18的顶部或接触部分30与PWA14的距离D2可以是0.0-2.0毫米、1.0-2.0毫米、1.2-2.8毫米、1.4-1.6毫米、1.0-1.5毫米、1.5-2.0毫米或者任何其他范围,如图6最佳示出的。
说明性地,当处于铰转位置时,导电延伸器或连接器18和例如电子部件16的金属背衬之间的力可以相对小。在一个示例中,在铰转位置中,导电延伸器或连接器18和金属背衬22之间的力可以使得LCD32的性能不受从导电延伸器或连接器18施加到金属背衬22的接触力影响(例如,使得LCD32没有任何彩色区域或者对于施加在显示器的金属背衬22上的力的其他显示敏感性)。
在一些情况中,金属背衬22和导电延伸器或连接器18之间的大的接触力或阻力对于提供ESD防护而言可能不是必要的。例如,由于ESD事件通常具有相对高的电压(例如,约10kV或其他值)并且周围空气的电击穿高达3kV/mm(例如,在干燥空气处),静电放电的路径可通向导电延伸器或连接器18而不是跳过由间隔器24产生的间隔并且通向安装在PWA14上的ESD敏感的电子部件,尽管金属背衬22和导电延伸器或连接器18之间的接触力相对低。
导电延伸器或连接器18可由任何一种或多种材料制成。在一些情况中,导电延伸器或连接器18可由导电材料、弹性材料、具有期望性质的任何其他材料和/或具有这些或其他性质的材料的任何组合制成。例如,导电延伸器或连接器18可由磷青铜(例如铜合金)、钢、导电聚合物或任何其他合适的材料制成。
导电延伸器或连接器18可用于将电子装置或组件10的电子部件16接地的说明性方法(S100)中,如图9示意性示出的(其中,所列出的步骤可以按照所示顺序或者根据需要按照另一顺序执行)。电子装置或组件10的电子部件16的接地可帮助减少或防止电子装置或组件10的一个或多个电子部件响应于ESD事件的电损坏。
说明性地,方法(S100)可包括将导电延伸器或连接器18(例如弹性的导电延伸器或连接器)电连接到电子装置或组件10的PWA14的接地连接或特征。在一些情况中,方法(S100)可包括将导电延伸器或连接器18安装到PWA14的表面15(S110)。可利用表面安装技术或其他安装技术将导电延伸器或连接器18安装到PWA14的表面15。说明性地,导电延伸器或连接器18的第一部分或连接部分26可被直接或间接安装到PWA14。在一些情况中,导电延伸器或连接器18的第一部分或连接部分26可经由干涉型连接器(例如,螺钉型连接器、卡销型连接器或任何其他类型的干涉型连接器)安装到PWA14。在一些情况中,第一部分或连接部分26可被钎焊到PWA14的表面15。在任何情况下,导电延伸器或连接器18可被安装成使得其第二部分或弹簧部分28可从PWA14的表面15延伸并朝向电子部件16延伸。
在一些情况中,该方法可包括在电子部件16和PWA14之间提供间隔器24(S112)以及使电子部件16定位成邻近间隔器24(S114)。在使电子部件16定位成邻近间隔器24(S114)的一个示例中,电子部件16可定位成使得导电延伸器或连接器18可从PWA14延伸穿过间隔器24中的开口46,并且与电子部件16的金属背衬22或其他导电特征电接触且机械接触。在该示例中,导电延伸器或连接器18可以处于弯曲或其他构造,使得其抵靠电子部件16的金属背衬22或其他导电特征施加弹性力。在一些情况中,导电延伸器或连接器18施加在电子部件16的金属背衬22或其他导电特征上的弹性力可构造和/或设置成维持与电子部件16的金属背衬22或其他导电特征的电连接。导电延伸器或连接器18施加的弹性力可以在PWA14的表面15和电子部件16的金属背衬22之间的一定间隔范围内维持与电子部件16的金属背衬22或其他导电特征的电连接。说明性地,该间隔范围可以是0.0-3.0毫米、0.0-2.8毫米、0.0-2.6毫米、0.0-2.5毫米、0.0-2.0毫米或者PWA14和电子部件16之间的任何其他间隔范围。
在一些情况中,该方法(S100)可包括将PWA14、间隔器24和电子部件16固定在一起以形成子组件19(S116)。可以根据需要使用任何连接技术和/或连接特征来执行将PWA14、间隔器24和电子部件16固定在一起。例如,间隔器24可夹到PWA14和电子部件16,间隔器24可被胶合到PWA14和电子部件16,或者PWA14、间隔器24和电子部件16可以根据需要以任何其他方式连接以形成子组件19(见图4)。
说明性地,将导电延伸器或连接器18安装到PWA14可包括在组装子组件19之前或之后执行安装。当在之前安装时,随着电子部件16朝向PWA14移动且随着导电延伸器或连接器18从初始位置(见图5)移动到铰转位置(见图6),导电延伸器或连接器18的接触部分30可沿着金属背衬22的表面15横向移动。在一些情况中,横向移动可帮助导电延伸器或连接器18的接触部分30与电子部件16的金属背衬22形成良好的电接触。如图2和4-6最佳示出的,在一些情况中,导电延伸器或连接器18可被安装到PWA14,使得其延伸穿过间隔器24中的开口46。
其他示例

Claims (15)

1.一种电子组件,包括:
壳体;
印刷线路组件,所述印刷线路组件具有位于所述壳体内的接地特征;
电子部件,所述电子部件具有位于所述壳体内的金属背衬;
导电弹性延伸器,其中:
  所述导电弹性延伸器能够在初始构造和铰转构造之间构造,其中,一旦处于所述铰转构造,所述导电弹性延伸器提供返回朝向所述初始构造的弹性力;
  所述导电弹性延伸器被电连接到所述印刷线路组件的接地特征以及所述电子部件的金属背衬,由此提供所述印刷线路组件的接地特征和所述电子部件的金属背衬之间的电连接;并且
  所述导电弹性延伸器处于所述铰转构造,并且所述导电弹性延伸器的弹性力抵靠所述电子部件的金属背衬和所述印刷线路组件而施加。
2.如权利要求1所述的电子组件,还包括位于所述电子部件和所述印刷线路组件之间的间隔器,其中,所述导电弹性延伸器延伸穿过所述间隔器。
3.如权利要求2所述的电子组件,其中,所述导电弹性延伸器构造成从所述印刷线路组件延伸穿过所述间隔器中的开口,以机械接触且电接合所述电子部件的金属背衬。

所述连接部分构造成机械连接到所述印刷线路组件。
5.如权利要求4所述的电子组件,其中,当所述导电弹性延伸器处于初始构造时,所述弹簧部分的顶部构造成从所述印刷线路组件延伸约2.0-3.0毫米。
6.如权利要求4所述的电子组件,其中,当所述金属背衬作用在所述弹簧部分上以导致所述导电弹性延伸器处于铰转构造时,所述弹簧部分的顶部构造成从所述印刷线路组件延伸约1.0-2.0毫米。
7.如权利要求4所述的电子组件,其中,所述弹簧部件具有用于接触所述电子部件的金属背衬的接触部分。
8.如权利要求7所述的电子组件,其中,所述接触部分是用于接触所述电子部件的突起。
9.如权利要求1-8中任一项所述的电子组件,其中,所述电子部件包括液晶显示器。

13.一种将电子装置的电子部件接地以帮助避免所述电子装置由于静电放电(ESD)事件的电损坏的方法,其中,所述电子部件具有金属背衬,所述方法包括:
将弹性电连接器电连接到所述电子装置的印刷线路组件的接地连接;
在所述电子部件和所述印刷线路组件之间提供间隔器;以及
将所述电子部件定位成邻近所述间隔器,使得所述弹性电连接器从所述印刷线路组件延伸并且与所述电子部件的金属背衬形成电接触,所述弹性电连接器是弯曲的并且抵靠所述电子部件的金属背衬施加弹性力,其中,所述弹性力在所述印刷线路组件和所述电子部件之间的一间隔范围内维持与所述金属背衬的电连接。
14.如权利要求13所述的方法,还包括将所述弹性电连接器安装到所述印刷线路组件的表面。
15.如权利要求13或权利要求14的任一项所述的方法,还包括将所述印刷线路组件、所述间隔器和所述电子部件固定在一起以形成子组件。
