Abstract

NOX흡수제(18)은 내연기관의 배기통로에 배치되고, 배기가스는 엔진작동중 NOX흡수재(18)를 통해서 일정하게 순환하도록 되어 있다.
NOX흡수재(18)는 NOX흡수재(18) 안으로 유동하는 배기가스의 공연비가 희박하게되면 NOX를 흡수하고 NOX흡수재(18)안으로 유동하는 배기가스의 공연비가 화학량론 공연비로 되거나 농후하게 되면 흡수된 NOX를 방출한다.
대부분의 기관작동 구역에서, 희박한 공기연료 혼합물은 연소실(3)에서 연소되고 이때에 발생된 NOX는NOX흡수재(18)안으로 흡수된다.
NOX흡수재(18)안으로 유동하는 배기가스의 공연비는 주기적으로 화학량론 공연비로 되거나 농후하게 되며, NOX흡수재(18)에서 흡수된 NOX는 방출됨과 동시에 감소된다.

Claims (33)

  1. 내연기관의 배기정화장치에 있어서, 유압배기가스의 공연비가 희박하게 되면 NOX를 흡수하고 유입배기가스에서의 산소농도가 낮게되면 흡수된 NOX를 방출하는 NOX흡수재는 엔진의 배기통로에 배치되며, 이 배기가스는 엔진의 작동중 NOX흡수재 안으로 연속하여 유동하며, 그리고 NOX흡수재 안으로 유동하는 배기가스가 희박하게되면 NOX흡수재에 흡수된 NOX는 NOX흡수재안으로 유동하는 배기가스의 산소농도가 낮을때 NOX흡수재로부터 방출되는 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, NOX흡수재에 흡수된 NOX는 NOX흡수재 안으로 유동하는 배기가스를 농후하게 만듬으로써 NOX흡수재로부터 방출되는 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, NOX흡수재에 흡수된 NOX는 NOX흡수재 안으로 유동하는 배기가스를 화학량론 공연비로 만듬으로써 NOX흡수재로부터 방출되는 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, NOX흡수재 안으로 유동하는 배기가스의 공연비가 희박하게 되고 NOX가 NOX흡수재에 흡수되는 시간은 NOX흡수재 안으로 유동하는 배기가스에서의 산소농도가 NOX흡수재로부터 NOX를 방출하도록 낮아지는 시간에 50배이거나 그 이상으로 더긴 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관 배기정화장치.
  5. 제1항에 있어서, NOX흡수재 안으로 유동하는 배기가스의 공연비는 NOX가 NOX흡수재 안으로 흡수될때 18.0보다 큰 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
  6. 제1항에 있어서, NOX흡수재는 칼륨, 나트륨, 리튬 또는 세슘으로 구성된 알칼리금속, 바륨 또는 칼슘으로 구성된 알칼리토금속, 란탄 또는 이트륨으로 구성된 희토류금속 그리고 백금으로 부터 선택된 적어도 하나의 물질의 함유하고 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
  7. 제1항에 있어서, NOX흡수재는 바륨과 구리의 합성산화물로 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
  8. 제1항에 있어서, 공연비 제어수단은 엔진연소실에서 형성된 공기연료 혼합물의 공연비를 제어하기 위해서 제공되어 있으며, 그리고 NOX흡수재 안으로의 NOX흡수와 NOX흡수재로 부터의 NOX방출은 상기 공연비제어수단에 의해 엔진연소실에 형성된 공기연료 혼합물의 공연비를 제어함으로써 제어되는 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
  9. 제8항에 있어서, 상기 공연비 제어수단은 NOX가 NOX흡수재 안으로 흡수될때 연소실에 형성된 공기연료 혼합물의 공연비를 희박하게 하고 그리고 NOX가 NOX흡수재로 부터 방출될때 연소실에 형성된 공기연료 혼합물의 공연비를 화학량론 공연비로 또는 농후하게 하는 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
  10. 제9항에 있어서, 내연기관은 가솔린 기관으로 구성되어 있고 그리고 상기 공연비 제어수단은 엔진에 공급된 연료량을 제어함으로써 NOX흡수재로 부터 NOX를 방출하고 NOX흡수재 안으로 NOX를 흡수하는 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
  11. 제10항에 있어서, 상기 공연비 제어수단은 NOX가 NOX흡수재 안으로 흡수될때 연소실에 형성된 공기연료 혼합물의 공연비를 거의 18.0보다 큰 일정 희박공연비로 유지하는 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
  12. 제10항에 있어서, 엔진의 작동상태에 따라 결정된 연료의 양을 사전에 저장하는 메모리 수단으로 더 구성되며. 상기 공연비 제어수단은 상기 메모리 수단에 저장된 연료량을 근거로 하여 엔진에 공급된 연료량을 결정하는 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
  13. 제10항에 있어서, 엔진의작동상태에 따라 결정된 기본연료량을 사전에 저장하는 메모리 수단과 엔진의 배기통로에 제공되어 배기통로에서 유동하는 배기가스의 공연비를 검출하는 공연비 센서로 더 구성되며, 상기 공연비 제어수단은 기본 연료량을 수정하여 배기가스의 공연비가 상기 공연비 센서의 출력신호에 따라 변화되는 피드백 수정계수에 의해 목표 공연비로 되도록 하는 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
  14. 제13항에 있어서, 상기 공연비 제어수단은 NOX가 NOX흡수재 안으로 흡수될때 배기가스의 공연비가 피드백 수정계수에 의해 목표공연비로 되도록 기본 연료량을 수정하고 동시에 상기 피드백 수정계수가 참조값 주쉬에서 변동하고 러어닝 계수에 의해 상기 피드백 수정계수를 수정하며, 그리고 상기 공연비 제어수단은 NOX가 NOX계수와 기본연료양을 근거로하여 엔진에 공급되도록 연료의 양을 결정하는 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
  15. 제9항에 있어서, 내연기관은 연소실 안으로 연료를 분사하는 연료분사기와 엔진의 흡기통로에 배치된 스로틀 밸브로 구비된 디젤엔진으로 구성되며, 그리고 상기 공연비 제어수단은 연료분사기로 부터의 분사량과 스로틀 밸브의 개방도를 제어함으로써 NOX흡수재 안으로의 NOX흡수와 NOX흡수재로 부터의 NOX방출을 제어하는 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
  16. 제15항에 있어서, 상기 공연비 제어수단은 NOX가 NOX흡수재로 부터 방출될때 분사량을 증가시키고 스로틀 밸브의 개방도를 감소시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
  17. 제1항에 있어서, 엔진 연소실로 부터 배출되어 엔진의배기통로에 있는 NOX흡수재 안으로 유동하는 배기가스의 공연비를 제어하는 공연비 제어수단으로 더 구성되어 있으며, 그리고 NOX흡수재 안으로의 NOX의 흡수와 NOX흡수재로부터의 NOX의 방출은 상기 공연비 제어수단에 의해 NOX흡수재 안으로 유동하는 배기가스의 공연비를 제어함으로써 제어되는 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
  18. 제17항에 있어서, 상기 공연비 제어수단은 NOX가 NOX흡수재 안으로 흡수될때 NOX흡수재 안으로 유동하는 배기가스의 공연비를 희박하게 만드는 한편, NOX가 NOX흡수재로 부터 방출될때 NOX흡수재 안으로 유동하는 배기가스의 공연비를 화학량론 공연비로 또는 농후하게 만드는 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
  19. 제18항에 있어서, 상기 공연비 제어수단은 NOX가 NOX흡수재로부터 방출될때 엔진의 배기통로 내부에 환원제를 공급하는 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
  20. 제19항에 있어서, 상기 환원제는 탄화수소로 만들어진 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
  21. 제20항에 있어서, 상기 탄화수소는 가솔린, 이소옥탄, 헥산, 헵탄, 부탄, 프로판, 경유 및 등유로 부터 선택된 적어도 하나의 구성원으로 구성된 것을 특징으로하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
  22. 제1항에 있어서, NOX흡수재 안으로 유동하는 배기가스의 공연비가 희박하게 되어 NOX가 NOX흡수재안으로 흡수되는 시기가 예비적으로 결정된 제1설정 시기를 초과할때 NOX흡수재로부터 NOX를 방출하도록 예비적으로 결정된 제2설정 시기 동안에만 NOX흡수재 안으로 유동하는 배기가스에서는 산소농도를 낮게하는NOX방출제어수단으로 더 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
  23. 제22항에 있어서, 상기 NOX방출제어수단은 NOX가 NOX흡수재로 부터 방출될때 NOX흡수재 안으로 유동하는 배기가스의 공연비를 화학량론 공연비로 또는 농후하게 하는 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
  24. 제22항에 있어서, 상기 NOX방출제어수단은 NOX흡수재 안으로 흡수된 NOX양을 평가하는 NOX양평가수단으로 구비되어 있고, 그리고 상기 NOX방출제어수단은 NOX양 평가수단에 의해 평가된 NOX의 양이 예비적으로 결정된 설정 양을 초과할때 상기 제1설정 시기가 경과되었는지를 결정하는 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
  25. 제24항에 있어서, 상기 NOX양 평가수단은 엔진속도의 누계치가 예비적으로 결정된 설정치를 초과할때 NOX흡수재에 흡수된 NOX의 양이 상기 양을 초과하는지를 결정하는 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
  26. 제24항에 있어서, 상기 NOX양 평가수단은 엔진 연소실에 형성된 공기연료 혼합물의 공연비가 화학량론 공연비로 유지되거나 또는 소정된 시간이상 동안 농후하게 될때 NOX흡수재에 흡수된 모든 NOX가 방출되었는지를 결정하는 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
  27. 제22항에 있어서, 상기 제2설정 시기는 20초 보다 작은 것을 특징으로하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
  28. 제22항에 있어서, 상기 NOX방출제어수단은 NOX흡수재 안으로 유동하는 배기가스의 온도를 검출하는 온도센서로 구비되고, 그리고 상기 NOX방출제어수단은 NOX흡수재 안으로 유동하는 배기가스의 온도가 NOX흡수재에 의해 흡수될 수 있는 NOX의 제한온도보다 낮게될때 NOX가 NOX흡수재 안으로 흡수되는 시기가 상기 제1설정 시기를 초과할지라도 NOX흡수재 안으로 유동하는 배기가스에서의 산소농도가 낮게되는 것을 방지하는 방지수단으로 구비된 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
  29. 제28항에 있어서, 상기 방출제어수단은 NOX흡수재 안으로 유동하는 배기가스에서의 산소농도가 상기 방지수단에 의해 낮게된 후 NOX흡수재 안으로 유동하는 배기가스의 온도가 상기 제한온도 보다 높게될때 NOX흡수재안으로 유동하는 배기가스에서의 산소농도를 즉시 낮게하는 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
  30. 제1항에 있어서, 적어도 NOX를 환원시킬 수 있는 촉매제는 NOX흡수재의 하류쪽 엔진 배기통로에 배치되는 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
  31. 제30항에 있어서, 상기 촉매제는 3원촉매제로 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
  32. 제1항에 있어서, 불완전연소된 HC와 CO 를 정화할 수 있는 촉매제는 NOX흡수재 상류쪽 엔진의 배기통로에 배치되는 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 배기정화정치.
  33. 제32항에 있어서, 상기 촉매제는 3원촉매제로 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 내연기관의 배기정화장치.
