Abstract

上式で、V電池/充電は充電器30による計測値としての電池20の電圧であり、V端子は端子両端の電圧降下(例えば、110mV)であり、さらにVセルは電池電圧のパーセントで評価されているセルの電圧である。セル5の電圧の評価値が閾値(「低減閾値(reductionthreshold)」)を超えれば、電池充電器30は、後続の電流オン期間Tオン3を変更することができる。この例では、電池充電器30は、セル5の電圧の評価値(または算定値)が低減閾値(約800ミリ秒である)に達する時点を記憶している。図39に示すように、充電器30は、セル5を高い電池セルとして識別しかつ算定し、さらに後続の電流オン期間Tオン3を、充電器30が記憶している継続時間(例えば、800ミリ秒)とほぼ等しいように変更する。したがって、電流オン期間Tオン3の長さT2は、先行する電流オン期間Tオン1およびTオン2の長さT1よりも短い。

Claims (8)
- 電池充電器であって、
リチウムベースの化学的性質と公称電圧を有する電池パックに電気的に接続する、少なくとも1つの端子であって、前記電池パックは、複数のリチウムベースの電池セルを含み、前記複数の電池セルの各々のセルは個々の充電状態を有する、少なくとも1つの端子と、
制御器とを備え、
前記制御器は、前記複数の電池セルの少なくとも1つの電池セルの個々の充電状態と2つ又はそれ以上の電圧範囲との比較、及び、電池パックに関連付けられた温度と2つ又はそれ以上の温度範囲との比較に基づいて、複数の異なる操作モードの中から選択を行い、
前記複数の異なる操作モードの少なくとも1つの操作モードは、前記制御器が、パルス化された充電電流が前記少なくとも1つの端子を介して前記電池パックに供給されることを可能にするものであり、パルス化された充電電流のデュティーサイクルは、前記複数の電池セルの少なくとも1つの電池セルの個々の充電状態に基づいて変更され、
前記電池充電器は、前記電池パックから、前記電池パックに関連付けられた温度、及び前記複数の電池セルの少なくとも1つの電池セルの個々の充電状態を受け取るように構成される、
ことを特徴とする電池充電器。 - 請求項1に記載の電池充電器において、前記電池パックの公称電圧は、約9.6Vから約30Vの範囲に含まれていることを特徴とする電池充電器。
- 請求項1に記載の電池充電器において、前記複数の操作モードは、急速充電モードを含むことを特徴とする電池充電器。
- 請求項1に記載の電池充電器において、前記複数の操作モードは、細流充電モードを含むことを特徴とする電池充電器。
- 請求項1に記載の電池充電器において、前記電池充電器は、さらに、充電電流が、ニッケルカドミウムの化学的性質及びニッケル水素の化学的性質の一方を有する第2の電池パックに供給されることを可能にするように構成されていることを特徴とする電池充電器。
- 請求項1に記載の電池充電器において、前記制御器は、前記電池パックのリチウムベースの化学的性質を識別するように動作可能であることを特徴とする電池充電器。
- 請求項1に記載の電池充電器において、前記電池パックは手持ち型の電動工具に実施可能であることを特徴とする電池充電器。
- 請求項7に記載の電池充電器において、前記手持ち型の電動工具電池パックは、丸鋸及びドライバドリルの一方であることを特徴とする電池充電器。
