携帯電話、コンピュータ、タブレットなどの電子表示装置は、ますます、様々な表示アプリケーションに使用されている。例えば、電子表示装置は、一般的に、小売業や展示会場などの公共の場での情報の表示に使用されている。このような電子表示装置をかかる小売業や展示会場に組み込むことは、数多くの理由で有用性が高い。例えば、電子表示装置は、潜在的消費者が表示装置を使用して表示スクリーン上で異なる情報を見たり、スクリーン上に表示されている情報のサイズを変更したり、スクリーン上のグラフィカルユーザインターフェースを使用して従業員のアシストを要求したり等できるように、潜在的消費者と対話することができる。更に、電子表示装置自体がビジネス又は小売店舗の製品である場合、電子表示装置を情報ディスプレイとして使用すれば、潜在的消費者が装置の機能を試すことができる。電子表示装置の情報ディスプレイとしての使用は、したがって、多くのビジネスにとって不可欠な小売又はマーケティング戦略となり得る。

本開示の実施形態は、間接的な装置認可を取得するためのシステム及び方法に関する。例えば、表示装置は、表示モードと認可モードを有することができ、表示モードはデフォルト設定でアクセスでき、認可モードは、表示装置が別の認可側装置により認可された後でしかアクセスできない。本技術により、表示装置は認可要求を認可側装置に送信することができ、認可側装置は認可信号を送信することによって、第１の装置に対する認可を付与又は拒否することができる。
いくつかの実施形態において、表示装置は、表示モードである時、小売環境で電子サイネージとして使用でき、認可側装置は、従業員によって使用される装置であり得る。この実施形態において、表示装置は、コンテンツが変更できるように、又は従業員が表示装置上の他の機能にアクセスできるように、認可モードに入る必要がある。したがって、従業員が、第２の装置が表示装置に認可を付与するように設定すれば、表示装置は認可モードに入ることができる。

本技術は、第２の装置（認可側装置とも言う）によって第１の装置（表示装置とも言う）に認可を無線で提供することを伴う。具体的には、表示装置は、装置の任意のユーザがアクセスできる制限されていないコンテンツ、並びに、通常ユーザが第２の装置から認可を受信しなければアクセスできない制限付きコンテンツを有し得る。表示装置は、制限されていないコンテンツのみにアクセスできる表示モード、又は、認可を受信し制限付きコンテンツのいくつか若しくは全体にアクセスできる認可モードで動作し得る。
このような技術の１つの用途は、顧客が表示モードで電子表示装置にアクセスできる小売環境である。一般的に、このような表示装置は、顧客がアクセスできるある制限されていないコンテンツ及び機能を有するように構成され得る。例えば、このような制限されていないコンテンツは、製品を宣伝及び／又は実演するためのコンテンツに関係し得る。しかし、表示装置はまた、認可モードでも動作でき、この場合、表示装置６２は、表示モードではアクセスできない、ある又は任意の制限付きコンテンツにアクセスし得る。
例えば、小売りの設定では、従業員は、表示装置上である機能を実演したり、又は、表示装置上で通常は制限されているある情報にアクセスしようとしたりすることがある。従業員が、一般的に表示モードでは制限され得る機能又はコンテンツに表示装置からアクセスできるためには、認可モードで表示装置を操作する認可を要求される場合がある。表示装置上での認可の提供は、不便であり又は非効率的であるので、従業員は、認可側装置とも言う、第２の装置を使用して認可モードで表示装置を操作する認可を承諾することができる。
上記の機能を念頭に置いて、本技術の態様を実施するための好適な電子装置の概要を提供する。図１では、本技術での使用に好適な電子装置内に存在し得る様々な構成要素を図解するブロック図を提供する。図２では、本明細書でハンドヘルド電子装置として提供される、好適な電子装置の一実施例を図解する。図３では、本明細書でコンピュータシステムとして記載される、好適な電子装置の別の一例を図解する。これらのタイプの電子装置、並びに好適な記憶及び／又は処理能力を提供するその他の電子装置は、本技術と合わせて使用し得る。例えば、これらのタイプ又は類似のタイプの電子装置は、無線通信能力を有し、非英数字、非バイオメトリック認証スキームを実行して本開示の教示に係る制限付きコンテンツ又は機能にアクセスし得る。
好適な電子装置の一例には、装置の機能に寄与する様々な内部及び／又は外部構成要素が挙げられる。図１は、このような電子装置８の内部に存在し、かつ装置８が本明細書で検討される技術に係って機能することを可能にし得る、構成要素を例示するブロック図である。上記の内容からわかるように、図１に示す様々な機能ブロックには、ハードウェア要素（アプリケーション固有の、又は汎用の回路を含む）、ソフトウェア要素（機械可読媒体上に記憶されたコンピュータコードを含む）、又はハードウェア要素及びソフトウェア要素の両方の組み合わせが挙げられる。更に、図１は、特定の実施の一例だけであり、装置８内に存在し得る構成要素のタイプを例示することだけを意図するものであることを留意されたい。例えば、ここに例示する実施形態において、これらの構成要素には、ディスプレイ１０、Ｉ／Ｏポート１２、入力構造１４、データ処理回路（例えば、１つ以上のプロセッサ１６）、メモリ装置１８、不揮発性記憶域２０、拡張カード２２、ネットワーク装置２４、及び電源２６が挙げられる。

Ｉ／Ｏポート１２は、電源又はその他の電子装置（例えば、ハンドヘルド装置及び／又はコンピュータ、プリンター、プロジェクター、外部ディスプレイ、モデム、ドッキングステーション等）などの種々の外部装置に接続するように構成されたポートを含んでもよい。Ｉ／Ｏポート１２は、ユニバーサルシリアルバス（ＵＳＢ）ポート、ビデオポート、シリアルコネクションポート、ＩＥＥＥ−１３９４ポート、イーサーネット又はモデムポート、及び／又はＡＣ／ＤＣ電源接続ポートなどの任意の標準的なインターフェースタイプ又は専用インターフェースタイプをサポートし得る。
入力構造１４には、様々な装置、回路、及びプロセッサ１６などのデータ処理回路に入力又はフィードバックを提供する伝達経路が含まれ得る。このような入力構造１４は、装置８を起動したときに装置８の機能を制御するように構成され得る。例えば、入力構造１４には、ボタン、スライダー、スイッチ、コントロールパッド、キー、ノブ、スクロールホイール、キーボード、マウス、タッチパッドなどが挙げられる。ある実施形態において、入力構造１４にはまた、全地球測位システム（ＧＰＳ）回路、並びに／又は装置８の位置及び／若しくは方位に関する情報をプロセッサ１６に送る加速度計などの構成要素が含まれ得る。
ある実施形態において、入力構造１４及びディスプレイ１０は、タッチ感知機構がディスプレイ１０と共に提供されるタッチスクリーンの場合のように、共に提供されうる。このような実施形態において、ユーザは、タッチ感知機構を介して、表示されたインターフェース要素を選択し、又はこれと対話し得る。これによって、表示されたユーザインターフェースは対話機能を提供し、ユーザが、ディスプレイ１０に表示された選択肢から、タッチスクリーン又はその他の入力構造によって選択することを可能にする。
ユーザ又はディスプレイ１０に表示されたアプリケーションインターフェースとの対話などの、入力構造１４とのユーザ対話は、ユーザ入力を示す電気信号を生成することがある。これらの入力信号は、更なる処理のために、入力ハブ又はバスなどの好適な伝達経路を介してプロセッサ１６などのデータ処理回路に送り得る。

図１に例示される実施形態はまた、１つ以上のカード又は拡張スロットを含み得る。カードスロットは、電子装置８に追加メモリ、Ｉ／Ｏ機能、又はネットワーク能力などの機能を追加する時に使用し得る拡張カード２２を受容するように構成し得る。このような拡張カード２２は、任意のタイプの好適な標準型の、又は専用のコネクタを通じて装置に接続でき、電子装置８の筐体に内部又は外部からアクセスし得る。例えば、一実施形態において、拡張カード２２は、セキュアデジタル（ＳＤ）カード、ミニ又はマイクロＳＤ、コンパクトフラッシュ（登録商標）カード、マルチメディアカード（ＭＭＣ）などのフラッシュメモリカードであってよい。

図解の実施形態において、筐体３２は、ユーザが介して装置と対話し得る入力構造１４を含む。それぞれの入力構造１４は、起動したときに装置機能の制御を支援するように構成し得る。例えば、携帯電話の実装において、１つ以上の入力構造１４は、スリープモードとウェークモードとの間をトグルし、携帯電話アプリケーションの着信音をマナーモードにし、音声出力を上げたり下げたりするなどのために「ホーム」スクリーン又はメニュが表示されるように構成し得る。

図２の図解の携帯電話などのハンドヘルド装置３０に加えて、電子装置８はまた、機密情報が記憶される可能性があり、このような情報への安全なアクセスを管理するソフトウェアコードを実行する可能性がある、コンピュータ又はその他のタイプの電子装置の形態を取り得る。このようなコンピュータには、一般的にポータブルなコンピュータ（例えば、ラップトップ、ノートブック、及びタブレットコンピュータ）並びに一般的に１つの場所で使用されるコンピュータ（従来のデスクトップコンピュータ、ワークステーション及び／又はサーバなど）が挙げられる。ある実施形態において、コンピュータの形態の電子装置８は、Ａｐｐｌｅ Ｉｎｃ．から入手可能な、ＭａｃＢｏｏｋ（登録商標）、ＭａｃＢｏｏｋ（登録商標）Ｐｒｏ、ＭａｃＢｏｏｋ Ａｉｒ（登録商標）、ｉＭａｃ（登録商標）、Ｍａｃ（登録商標）ｍｉｎｉ、又はＭａｃ Ｐｒｏ（登録商標）のモデルであってよい。
例として、ラップトップコンピュータ５０の形態の電子装置８は、一実施形態に係る図３に例示される。図解のコンピュータ５０は、筐体５２、ディスプレイ１０、入力構造１４、及び入力／出力ポート１２を含む。入力構造１４（キーボード及び／又はタッチパッドなど）は、コンピュータ５０上で動くＧＵＩ又はアプリケーションの開始、制御、稼動などの、コンピュータ５０との対話に使用し得る。例えば、キーボード及び／又はタッチパッドにより、ユーザはディスプレイ１０に表示されるユーザインターフェース又はアプリケーションインターフェースをナビゲートできる。追加で、入力及び出力ポート１２は、追加装置の接続を可能にし得る。例えば、コンピュータ５０は、ハンドヘルド電子装置３０などの別の電子装置への接続に好適なＵＳＢポート又はその他のポートなどのＩ／Ｏポート１２を含み得る。
追加で、ハンドヘルド装置３０に関して検討したように、コンピュータ５０は、コンピュータ５０が本技術の実装に好適なＧＵＩ及びその他のアプリケーションを記憶及び実行することを可能にする、データ処理回路（１つ以上のプロセッサなど）、ネットワーク接続性、メモリ、並びに記憶能力を含み得る。例えば、コンピュータ５０は、機密情報又は安全なアプリケーションへのアクセス、又は非英数字及び非バイオメトリック入力（例えば、ジェスチャー、シーケンスなど）を使ったネットワーク接続に好適なプログラミングコード符号化ルーチンの記憶及び実行ができ得る。更に、コンピュータ５０がネットワーク接続性を有する限りでは、このような接続性を利用して、このような機能を提供するように、コンピュータ５０上の既存アプリケーションを更新又は修正できる。
図２のハンドヘルド装置３０及び図３のコンピュータ５０に加えて、電子装置１０は、図４に図解するポータブルな多機能タブレットコンピュータ装置５８などの他の形態を取り得る。ある実施形態において、タブレットコンピュータ装置５８は、メディアプレイヤー、ウェブブラウザ、携帯電話、ゲームプラットフォーム、パーソナルデータオーガナイザー等のうちの２つ以上の機能を内蔵している装置などの、２つ以上のタイプの電子装置の機能を提供し得る。例えば、図解の実施形態においてタブレットコンピュータ装置５８は、様々な追加機能（例えば、情報の表示、写真の撮影、音声及び／又は動画の記録、音楽の傾聴、ゲームのプレイなどの能力）を提供し得る。単なる例として、タブレットコンピュータ装置５８は、Ａｐｐｌｅ Ｉｎｃ．から入手可能なｉＰａｄ（登録商標）タブレットコンピュータのモデルであり得る。
上記の検討を念頭に置いて、電子装置８が、本開示で提示されている間接的認可技術に好適であることが理解されよう。図５は、間接的認可システム６０を示す。図５は、タブレットコンピュータを第１の表示装置６２として、かつ携帯電話を第２の認可側装置６４として例示しているが、表示装置６２及び認可側装置６４は、それぞれ、好適な表示装置の１つであり得ることに留意されたい。間接的認可システム６０はまた、表示装置６２及び認可側装置６４が通って通信する無線ネットワーク６６を含む。いくつかの実施形態において、認可サーバ６３及びアプリケーションサーバ６５はまた、無線ネットワーク６６を介したお互いの無線通信並びに表示装置６２及び認可側装置６４との無線通信に好適であり得る。
間接的認可システム６０の表示装置６２は、一般的に、上記の電子装置８の任意の機能の組み合わせを含むがそれに限定されない多くの機能を有するが、表示装置６２は、その機能又はコンテンツのサブセットのみに所定の時間にアクセスできるように構成し得る。例えば、表示装置６２は、表示モードで動作するように構成できるが、表示モードでは、制限されていないコンテンツは利用できるが、制限付きコンテンツは認可を受信した後でしかアクセスできない。１つ以上の実施形態において、表示装置６２は、表示モードで動作してあるイメージ又はテキストの限定されたスクリーンのみを表示するように構成でき、表示モードで動作する時、表示装置６２は、あるユーザ入力のみに応じるように構成できる。例えば、小売設定において、表示装置６２は、名前、価格、イメージ、及びその他の製品仕様などの、ある製品に関する情報を表示するように構成し得る。いくつかの実施形態において、表示モードの表示装置６２は、特定の動画又はプレゼンテーションの再生に限定されることがある。
いくつかの実施形態において、表示装置６２はまた、認可モードで動作するように構成し得る。上述の通り、表示装置６２は、制限されていないコンテンツに加えて、通常は表示装置６２が認可モードである時のみアクセスできる制限付きコンテンツ又は機能を含み得る。いくつかの実施形態において、制限付きコンテンツは、能力の範囲（例えば、インターネットブラウジング、テキストメッセージ送信、安全なネットワークへの接続を含む）を含み得る。制限付きコンテンツはまた、機密情報、又は、在庫の検索、トランザクションの実行などのセキュア機能を含み得る。表示装置６２が、認可モードで動作する認可を承諾されると、表示装置６２はある制限付き機能又はコンテンツにアクセスできる。いくつかの実施形態において、認可モードは、表示装置６２に対して任意の利用可能な機能又はコンテンツへのアクセスを認可し得る。更に、いくつかの実施形態において、表示装置６２は、制限付きコンテンツにアクセスするための追加のインターフェース要素を含まないことがある。
いくつかの実施形態において、認可側装置６４は、第１の装置６２から認可要求信号を受信し、認可側装置６４のユーザに対して、表示装置６２が認可モードで動作できるように表示装置６２に対して認証のために認可を承諾するように促すことによって、認可を承諾するように構成し得る。
無線ネットワーク６６は、Ｂｌｕｅｔｏｏｔｈ（登録商標）ネットワークなどのパーソナルエリアネットワーク（ＰＡＮ）、８０２．１１ Ｗｉ−Ｆｉネットワークなどのローカルエリアネットワーク（ＬＡＮ）、３Ｇ又は４Ｇ移動体通信ネットワークなどのワイドエリアネットワーク（ＷＡＮ）、及びその他の好適な無線ネットワークであってよい。無線ネットワーク６６内の認証サーバ６３は、間接的認可システム６０に対応したアカウントに対応したアカウントデータ及び／又はＩＤデータを含んでもよい。例えば、システム６０のそれぞれの従業員のアカウント情報は認証サーバ６３内に記憶し得る。いくつかの実施形態において、認証サーバ６３は、ユーザの認証と呼ぶ、ユーザアカウントの検証又はユーザ認証入力の検証に好適な処理要素又は制御要素を含み得る。例えば、認証サーバ６３は、ユーザ認証入力（例えば、識別パスワード、ジェスチャー、アカウント名など）を認証サーバ６３内のアカウントデータベースに記憶されているアカウントデータと比較し得る。
いくつかの実施形態において、間接的認可システム６０はまた、無線ネットワーク６６に接続されたアプリケーションサーバ６５を含み得る。アプリケーションサーバ６５は、１つ以上の表示装置６２と１つ以上の認可側装置６４との間などの、システム６０の１つ以上の装置間をプロキシするように構成し得る。アプリケーションサーバ６５は、システム６０の異なる装置間で様々な信号（例えば、認可要求信号、認証入力、及び／又は認可信号など）を送信するのに好適であり得る。いくつかの実施形態において、アプリケーションサーバ６５はまた、機能の実行、コンテンツへのアクセス、コンテンツ若しくは機能へのアクセスの認可、及び／又はコンテンツへのアクセスの監視のための、認証されたユーザの認可レベルを検証することができる。いくつかの実施形態において、認証及び認可に関連した処理構成要素及びデータは、認可側装置６４に記憶され得る。
図６は、間接的認可プロセス６８のフローチャートであり、図７〜図９は、間接的認可プロセス６８中の表示装置又は認可側装置上のスクリーンを例示する。したがって、図６〜９を同時に検討する。いくつかの実施形態において、間接的認可プロセス６８は、表示モードで動作する表示装置６２で開始する（ブロック７０）。次に、プロセス６８は、表示装置６２のレディーモードへの移行を伴う（ブロック７２）。レディーモードは、表示装置６２が、認可側装置６４に対して、表示装置６２が認可モードで動作する認可を要求している、及び／又は認可モードで動作する認可を受信する用意ができていることを示す、表示装置６２の動作状態を意味する。いくつかの実施形態において、レディーモードで動作する表示装置６２は、表示モードで動作する装置６２と類似の機能を有し得る。表示装置６２のレディーモードへの移行（ブロック７２）は、通常、表示装置６２のレディーモードへの移行方法について知識を有するユーザによって実行し得る。例えば、認可されていないユーザ（例えば、顧客）は、表示装置６２を表示モードからレディーモードに変更できる入力又はアクションについての知識を有さない場合があるが、認可されたユーザ（例えば、従業員）は、表示装置６２の制限付きコンテンツへのアクセスを認可するプロセスにおいて表示装置６２をレディーモードに移行させることができる。
図７は、表示装置６２のレディーモードへの移行（ブロック７２）の一実施形態の例示である。図７に例示するように、表示装置６２は、表示モードにある時に、制限されていないコンテンツ（例えば、製品仕様）を表示するように構成し得る。表示装置６２は、ディスプレイ上でのジェスチャーによるユーザ入力の受け取りに応えてレディーモードに移行する（ブロック７２）ことができる。例示の実施形態において、表示装置６２は、タッチスクリーンが使用可能な装置であり、ユーザのタッチスクリーンディスプレイ１０との接触を検出するように構成し得る。表示装置６２は、メモリに記憶されたレディーモードジェスチャー１００を有し得る。レディーモードジェスチャー１００は、表示装置６２上のディスプレイ１０の表面上へのユーザの接触（例えば、ユーザの指を介した）のパターン又は経路でもよい。表示装置６２が適切なレディーモードジェスチャー１００がディスプレイ１０に入力されたことを検知すると、表示装置６２はレディーモードに移行し得る。例えば、いくつかの実施形態において、レディーモードジェスチャー１００は、表示装置６２をレディーモードに移行させることを認可されたユーザ、及び／又は、認可モードで表示装置６２を操作することを認可されたユーザが知り得る。更に、いくつかの実施形態は、表示装置６２がレディーモードに移行する（ブロック７２）、その他のユーザインターフェース要素（例えば、アイコン、ボタン、スイッチ、など）の起動、表示装置６２のある方法でのホールド、又はコードの入力などの異なる手段を含み得る。いくつかの実施形態において、表示装置６２は、表示装置６２が一度レディーモードになると認可要求７６を送信できる（ブロック７４）。
認可要求７６は、認可側装置６４とも呼ぶ第２の装置により無線ネットワーク６６を介して受信し得る（ブロック７８）。認可要求７６の受信（ブック７８）に応じて、認可側装置６４は、ユーザに対して認証を促し得る（ブロック８０）。図８は、間接的認可プロセス６８における認可要求７６の受信（ブロック７８）に応じる認可側装置６４のユーザインターフェースを図解する、認可側装置６４のスクリーンの進捗状況１０２の例示である。認可要求７６の受信（ブロック７８）に応じて、認可側装置６４は、認可要求通知１０４を表示するように構成し得る。本実施形態において、認可要求通知１０４は、認可要求が受信された時、ディスプレイ１０上の、ディスプレイの現在のコンテンツの上に現れ、表示装置６２が、認可モードで動作する認可を要求したことを、認可側装置６４のユーザに示すことができる。本実施形態において、認可要求通知１０４は、ユーザが見ることができるメッセージ１０６と表示装置６２の識別参照１０８を表示する。いくつかの実施形態において、通知１０４はまた、無視ボタン１１０と承認ボタン１１２を含み得る。無視ボタン１１０を起動させるとディスプレイ１０から認可要求通知１０４が退けられ、承認ボタン１１２を起動させると認可側装置６４上での間接的認可プロセス６８が続行し、認可側装置６４は装置６４のユーザに対して認証を促し得る（ブロック８０）。本明細書で使用されるとき、ボタンの「起動」は、インターフェースのタイプによって、多くの動作（例えば、押下、プッシュ、選択、タッチなど）により行われる。
認可側装置６４は、ユーザアカウントを表すユーザ入力を受け取るためのユーザインターフェースを表示することによって、ユーザに認証を促し得る（ブロック８０）。例えば、いくつかの実施形態において、認可側装置６４は複数のジェスチャーノード１１６を有するジェスチャーノード１１４の配列を表示し得、ユーザは、ジェスチャーノード１１４の配列に経路又はパターンで接触（例えば、タッチ、スワイプ、トレースなど）することによって認証入力８２を入力し得る（ジェスチャー入力とも呼ぶ）。いくつかの実施形態において、認可側装置６４は、アカウント及び／又はパスワードデータ欄を表示でき、ユーザは、アカウント名及び／又はパスワードなどの情報を入力することによって認証入力８２を入力し得る（パスワード入力とも呼ぶ）。いくつかの実施形態において、ジェスチャー入力及びパスワード入力は、認証入力８２の実施形態であり、一般的に、システム６０（図５）内のユーザアカウントに相当する。
いくつかの実施形態において、認証入力８２（例えば、ジェスチャー入力、パスワード入力等）は、認可側装置６４によって無線ネットワーク６６に接続されている認証サーバ６３（図５）に送信され得る（ブロック８４）。いくつかの実施形態において、認証サーバ６３は、認証入力８２のユーザアカウントのデータベース又はコレクションとの比較に好適な制御要素又は処理要素を含み得る。認証入力８２に基づき、認証サーバ６３は、認可された装置６４のユーザを認証することができる（ブロック８６）。より具体的には、認証サーバ６３は、認証入力８２がシステム６０内のアカウントに対応しているか判定し得る。いくつかの実施形態において、認証サーバ６３は、認証されたユーザの権限を検証する（ブロック８８）ことができ、認証入力８２を入力するユーザが、表示装置６２が認可モードで動作する認可を承諾できる権限を有しているかどうかを判定するアプリケーションサーバ６５と通信し得る。いくつかの実施形態において、認証及び／又は認可が認可側装置６４上で生じ得ることに留意願いたい。
いくつかの実施形態において、一度認可側装置６４のユーザが認証され（ブロック８６）かつ一度ユーザの権限が検証された（ブロック８８）された場合、認可信号９２が表示装置６２に送信され得る（ブロック９０）。いくつかの実施形態において、認可信号９２は、アプリケーションサーバ６５、認証サーバ６３、又は認可側装置６４のいずれかによって送信され得る。認可側装置６４はまた、表示装置６２の認可モードでの動作が認可された旨のインジケーション１１８を表示し得る。インジケーション１１８はまた、インジケーション１１８を退けて認可側装置６４を間接的認可プロセス６８に移行する前の元の状態に戻す、閉じるボタン１２０を含み得る。
一度表示装置６２が認可信号９２を受信する（ブロック９４）。表示装置６２は信号を処理し、認可モードで動作を開始し得る（ブロック９６）。認可モードでは、表示装置６２は、通常、以前に表示装置６２が表示モード又はレディーモードで動作していた時は制限されていた追加のコンテンツ及び機能にアクセスし得る。いくつかの実施形態において、認可モードでの動作は、表示装置６２上のある機能又はコンテンツのみにアクセスできる認可を伴う。例えば、認可側装置６４は、表示装置６２が認可モードで動作している時に表示装置６２上でのアクセスが認可され得る機能又はコンテンツのカテゴリを選択することができる。別の方法としては、表示装置６２は、認可要求７６でアクセスが要求されている特定の機能又はコンテンツを示し得る。いくつかの実施形態において、認可信号９２は、限定された時間（例えば、５分間、１０分間等）又は限定されたデータ量（例えば、５０ＭＢ）について認可を承諾し得、及び、いくつかの実施形態において、認可モードは、制限の撤去及び表示装置６２の任意のコンテンツ又は機能への全面的なアクセスを伴い得る。
図９は、間接的認可プロセス６８で認可側装置６４が表示し得るスクリーンの別の進捗状況１２２の例示である。図９に例示するように、一実施形態は、ノード１２６として表される表示装置６２の群のマップビュー１２４の表示を含む。マップビュー１２４は、表示装置６２同士の位置関係並びに認可側装置６４との位置関係に基づく表示装置６２を表示し得る。マップビュー１２４は、装置のタイプ、使用方法などの表示装置６２に関する詳細を表示するように構成し得る。マップビュー１２４はまた、１つ以上の表示装置６２が既にレディーモードにあって、認可を要求しているかどうかを示し得る。図９に例示されている実施形態において、マップビュー１２４は、特定の表示装置６２（例えば、例示の装置５）が認可要求信号を送信済みであることを示すインジケーション１２８を表示し得る。このようなインジケーション１２８は、例えば、点滅するノード、異なる色のノード、又は他の形態での差別化を含むことができる。表示装置６２の間接認可を進めるために、ユーザは表示装置６２を選択し得る。例えば、いくつかの実施形態において、示された装置を選択することができる。表示装置６２を選択すると、図５及び８に関連して上記で検討された認証及び認可プロセスに進むことができる。
１つ以上の実施形態において、認可側装置６４は、２つ以上の表示装置６２から認可要求７６を受信するように構成し得る。このような実施形態において、認可側装置６４は、図１０に示すように、認可要求待ち行列スクリーン１３０を表示するように構成し得る。認可要求待ち行列スクリーン１３０は、合計１３２の未決定の認可要求１３４を含み得、及び各未決定の認可要求１３４を一覧表示し得る。本実施形態において、それぞれの未決定の認可要求１３４は、要求側装置の識別番号１０８、要求されたコンテンツ１３６、及び要求の時間１３８を含む。認可側装置６４は、ユーザが、認可待ちの任意の未決定の認可要求１３４を選択できるように構成されている。
いくつかの実施形態において、間接的認可技術は、表示装置６２から認可側装置６４へ無線要求信号を送信することを伴うが、他の実施形態において、認可側装置６４は、表示装置６２の認可に進む前に必ずしも要求信号を受信しないことがある。例えば、図１１は、表示装置６２が認可要求を認可側装置６４に必ずしも送信しない間接的認可技術の実施形態を例示する。図１１に例示するように、表示装置６２は、装置６２の外側、又は目で見てアクセスできる装置６２の任意の一部分に表示されるバーコード１３８などの、可視識別子やコードを含み得る。例えば、バーコード１３８は、装置６２の背面に配置され得る。認可側装置６４のユーザが認可モードで表示装置６２を操作したい場合、認可側ユーザは表示装置６２のバーコード１３８をスキャンして特定のスキャンされたバーコード１３８に対応する表示装置６２を認可し得る。いくつかの実施形態において、認可側装置６４は、カメラなどの光学センサー１４０を含み得、及びバーコード１３８の画像を捕捉するように構成し得る。次に、認可側装置６４は、バーコード１３８の画像をバーコードのデータベースと照合させて、バーコード１３８が配置されている表示装置６２を識別し得る。バーコード１３８が認識された場合、認可側装置６４は、バーコード１３８が配置されている表示装置６２に認可信号を送信し得る。
いくつかの実施形態において、バーコードのデータベースは、好適なサーバ（例えば、システム６０内の認証サーバ６３又はアプリケーションサーバ６５）又は認可側装置６４に記憶され得る。更に、いくつかの実施形態において、バーコード１３８が識別されると、認可側装置６４は、表示装置６２の認可に進む前に（図５及び８に関連して検討されたように）認可側装置６４のユーザの認証及び／又は認可を要求し得る。
更に、いくつかの実施形態において、表示装置６２は、特定の表示装置６２がレディーモードであることを示すインジケーションを表示するか、放出するか、又は送信し得る。例えば、レディーモードのインジケーションは、認可側装置６４によって検知できる音声信号、及び／又は表示装置６２によって表示され、かつ認可側装置６４によって検知できる視覚信号を含むことができる。例えば、図１２に例示するように、レディーモードに移行したことに対応して、表示装置６２は、そのディスプレイ１０に点滅するノードのシーケンス１４２を表示し得る。点滅するノードのシーケンス１４２は、表示装置６２を識別する、及び／又は特定の表示装置６２がレディーモードで動作していることを示すコードを表し得る。本実施形態において、認可側装置６４は、その光学センサー１４０で点滅するノードのシーケンス１４２をスキャン又は捕捉し得る。認可側装置６４は、点滅するノードのシーケンスで表されるコードを認識し、それを表示装置６２のＩＤと照合させて表示装置６２の認可に進む。いくつかの実施形態において、間接的認可プロセスは、認可側装置６４のユーザの認証及び／又は認可を続行して表示装置６２を認可し得る。

更に、１つ以上の実施形態において、間接的認可プロセスは、認可側装置６４上でそれぞれ受信した認可要求について追加の認証及び／又は認可を要求することなく表示装置６２を認可することを伴う場合がある。例えば、認可側装置６４は、認可信号を表示装置６２に送信し得る。このような実施形態は、認可側装置６４のユーザが認証及び認可されることを想定し得る。例えば、追加の認証及び／又は認可なしに表示装置６２を認可することは、近接（例えば、表示装置６２と認可側装置６４との間の距離が２フィート以内である場合）に基づく場合がある。いくつかの実施形態において、認可側装置６４が送信する認可信号は、サーバ（例えば、アプリケーションサーバ６４）を通過して表示装置６２の認可を検証し得る。

Claims (18)

  1. 間接的認可システムであって、
    ネットワークに接続されたプロセッサを含み、さらに制限付きコンテンツ及び制限されていないコンテンツを含む表示装置であって、前記表示装置プロセッサが、前記表示装置のユーザが前記表示装置上の前記制限されていないコンテンツのみにアクセスできる表示モードで動作し、前記ユーザが前記表示装置上の前記制限付きコンテンツのいくつかにアクセスできる認可モードに移行する前に要求信号を送信し、認可信号を受信し、かつ前記認可信号の受信に応えて前記認可モードで動作するように構成された、表示装置と、
    前記ネットワークに接続されたプロセッサを含む認可側装置であって、前記認可側装置プロセッサが、前記表示装置から前記要求信号を受信し、かつ認証入力を受け取るように構成された認可側装置と、
    前記ネットワークに接続されたプロセッサを含むサーバであって、前記サーバプロセッサが、前記認可側装置から前記認証入力を受信し、前記認証入力を認証し、かつ前記認可信号を前記表示装置に送信するように構成されたサーバと、
    を備える間接的認可システム。
  2. 前記表示装置が、前記要求信号を複数の認可側装置に送信するように構成された、請求項１に記載の間接的認可システム。
  3. 前記認可側装置が、複数の表示装置から受信した要求信号を待ち行列に登録するように構成された、請求項１に記載の間接的認可システム。
  4. 前記表示装置が、前記要求信号を送信するために複数の認可側装置の１つを選択するように構成された、請求項１に記載の間接的認可システム。
  5. 前記要求信号が光学信号及び音声信号のうちの１つである、請求項１に記載の間接的認可システム。
  6. 前記認可側装置が、前記光学信号を検出するように構成されたカメラを含む、請求項５に記載の間接的認可システム。
  7. 表示装置において
    表示モードで前記表示装置が動作することであって、前記表示装置のユーザが、前記表示装置上の制限されていないコンテンツにアクセスできる一方、前記ユーザが、前記表示装置が前記表示モードで操作されている場合に前記表示装置上の制限付きコンテンツにアクセスできない、前記表示モードで前記表示装置が動作すること、
    認可側装置で認証入力が認証された場合、前記表示装置が、認可信号を前記表示装置の外部にある装置から無線で受信することと、
    前記表示装置が前記認可信号を受信した後、前記表示装置が認可モードで動作することであって、前記ユーザが前記制限付きコンテンツのいくつか又は全てにアクセスすることを含む前記認可モードで、前記表示装置が動作すること、
    を含む方法。
  8. 前記表示装置がレディーモード入力を受け取るのに応えて前記表示装置がレディーモードで動作することを含む、請求項７に記載の方法。
  9. 前記表示装置が前記レディーモードで動作している場合、前記表示装置が、認可要求を前記認可側装置に送信することを含む、請求項８に記載の方法。
  10. 前記認証入力を認証サーバ内のアカウントデータベースと比較することによって前記認証入力を、認証サーバが、認証することを含む、請求項７に記載の方法。
  11. 認可の判断基準が満たされたとする判定に従って、前記認可側装置での追加の認可を要求すること無しに、次の認可信号を前記表示装置に送信するように、前記サーバが構成されている、請求項１乃至６のいずれかに記載の間接的認可システム。
  12. 認可の判断基準が満たされたとする決定に従って、前記認可側装置での追加の認可を要求すること無しに、次の認可信号を前記表示装置に、認証サーバが、送信する、請求項７乃至１０のいずれかに記載の方法。
  13. 認可側装置において、
    制限付きコンテントのいくつかにアクセス可能な認可モードに入るための要求に対応する要求信号を、表示装置から、前記認可側装置が受信すること、
    前記表示装置から前記要求信号を受信することに応じて、前記要求信号に対応する通知を前記認可側装置が表示することと、
    前記通知が表示されたことを検知するのに続いて、認証入力を入力するためのユーザインタフェースを前記認可側装置が表示することと、
    認証入力を入力するための前記ユーザインタフェースを表示している間に、前記認可側装置が認証入力を受信することと、
    前記認証入力の受信に続いて、前記表示装置及び前記認可側装置とは異なる外部装置に、前記認可側装置が前記認証入力を送信することと、
    を含む方法。
  14. 前記認証入力が、前記認可側装置のユーザを識別する情報を含む、請求項１３記載の方法。
  15. 前記認可側装置が、複数の表示装置から受信した要求信号を待ち行列に登録するように構成された、請求項１３または１４記載の方法。
  16. 請求項１３乃至１５のいずれかに記載の方法を、コンピュータに、実行させるコンピュータプログラム。
  17. 請求項１６に記載されるコンピュータプログラムを記憶するメモリ、及び
    前記メモリに記憶される前記コンピュータプログラムを実行することができる１つ以上のプロセッサを、備える認可側装置。
  18. 請求項１３乃至１５のいずれかに記載の方法を実行するための手段を備える、認可側装置。
