Description
本出願は、米国仮出願通し番号60/729629(2005年10月24日申請)、米国仮出願通し番号60/743119(2006年1月11日申請)、米国仮出願通し番号60/744180(2006年4月3日申請)、米国仮出願通し番号60/805038(2006年6月16日申請)及び米国仮出願通し番号60/819226(2006年7月7日申請)に対する優先権を主張する。前記仮出願それぞれの開示が、そのまま本明細書に参照により組み込まれる。
本発明は、光コネクタに向けられたものである。
電気通信工業の機械的光ファイバーコネクタは、既知である。例えば、LC、ST、FC及びSC光コネクタは、広く使用されている。
Claims (9)
- 光ファイバーを終端処理する光コネクタであって、
レセプタクルと接続するように構成されるハウジングと、
前記ハウジング内に配置される鍔体とを備え、
前記鍔体は、前記鍔体の第1部分内に配置されるファイバースタブを含み、
前記ファイバースタブは、フェルール内に実装される第1光ファイバーと、前記フェルールの末端部面に近接した第1末端部と、第2末端部とを有し、
前記鍔体は前記鍔体の第2部分内に配置される機械的スプライスを更に含み、
前記機械的スプライスは、前記ファイバースタブの前記第2末端部を第2光ファイバーに接続するように構成され、
また、前記鍔体は、前記鍔体の第3部分の一部として一体的に形成されるバッファークランプを更に含み、
前記バッファークランプは、作動時に、前記第2光ファイバーのバッファークラディングの少なくとも一部を固定するように構成される、光コネクタにおいて、
前記第2部分は、鍔体の中央キャビティ内に機械的スプライスが挿入され固定されることができる開口部を有する、機械的スプライスのハウジング部分を備え、
前記バッファークランプは、
第3部分内に受容可能で作動と同時に折り畳み可能な表面機能を備えるクランピング要素、
作動と同時に折り畳み可能な第3部分の外側表面に形成された隆起部構造体、及び、
第3部分内に形成され、作動と同時に折り畳み可能な該第3部分の外側表面の外側に延在する部分を有する二重タブ構造体、の1つを備える、光コネクタ。 - 前記第2光ファイバーの横方向運動を制限するため前記ハウジングの末端部に連結されるファイバーブートを更に備え、
前記ブートが、先細テール部分、じょうご形状テール部分及び分割テール部分の1つを含む、請求項1に記載の光コネクタ。 - 前記ファイバーブートは、前記第2光ファイバーを包含するファイバーケーブルの強化部材を前記コネクタに圧着するように構成されるクリンプリングを備え、
前記ファイバーブートは、また、前記ファイバーケーブルの横方向運動を制限するため外側ジャケットを含み、
前記ファイバーブートは、また、前記ファイバーケーブルの外側ジャケットに直接圧着するように構成されると共に、更に、その中のファイバー構成要素の潜在的な軸の歪み及び軸の動きを減少させるように構成されるケーブルジャケットクリンプリングを含む、請求項2に記載の光コネクタ。 - 前記鍔体の第3部分の外側表面に受容されるように構成され、前記バッファークランプを摺動可能に作動させるように構成されるバッファークランプ作動スリーブを更に備える、請求項1に記載の光コネクタ。
- 前記ハウジングは、外側シェルと、前記外側シェルの内部に収容されるバックボーンとを備え、前記鍔体は前記バックボーン内に保持される、請求項1に記載の光コネクタ。
- ファイバー分配キャビネットに動作可能に実装できるトレイを備えるファイバー分配ユニットであって、
前記トレイは、複数個の連結具を受容するように構成される面を更に含み、
前記連結具は、夫々、分配線から光ファイバーを終端処理する光コネクタを受容するように構成され、
前記光コネクタは、請求項1〜5のいずれか1つに記載の光コネクタからなる、ファイバー分配ユニット。 - 請求項1〜6のいずれか1つに記載の光コネクタを保持するように構成されたベースと、
光コネクタのスプライス要素を作動させるために前記ベースに配置される第1作動機構と、
前記光コネクタのバッファークランピング部分を作動させるための第2作動機構と、
終端処理時に終端処理プラットフォーム内の光ファイバーを保持するためのファイバーホルダーと、を備える、ファイバー終端処理プラットフォーム。 - 更に、少なくとも1つの強化部材を含む光ファイバーケーブルのジャケット部分を把持するように構成されたファイバーケーブルホルダーであって、光ファイバーがファイバーの先端と上記少なくとも1つの強化部材の動きがケーブルの外側ジャケットに対して固定されるように終端処理されている、ファイバーケーブルホルダーを備える、請求項7に記載のファイバー終端処理プラットフォーム。
- 光コネクタ内の光ファイバーを終端処理する方法であって、
予め組み立てられたファイバースタブを有する、請求項1〜6のいずれか1つに記載の光コネクタを提供する工程と、
前記ファイバースタブで終端処理される光ファイバーの末端部を調製する調整工程であって、終端処理される光ファイバーのプラスチック外側ジャケットの部分をはがしてファイバーの末端部を劈開する工程を含む、調整工程と、
調製したファイバーをファイバーの曲がりが明らかになるまで予め組み立てられた光コネクタに挿入する工程と、
スプライス要素を作動させ調製された末端部を前記ファイバースタブに結合する工程と、
前記光ファイバーのバッファー部分を前記光コネクタ内に固定する工程と、
前記ファイバーの曲がりを解放する工程と、を含む、方法。
