また、スプライス部における結線作業の終了後に、ケーブル保持部材を接続完了位置に移動させて、光ファイバケーブルの光ファイバ心線に加わる長さ方向押圧力を実質的に解除するようにしたから、光ファイバケーブルの光ファイバ心線の部分における光損失を十分に低減できるとともに、光ファイバ心線の部分における寿命を増加させることができる。
また、光ファイバケーブルの結線作業が完了してケーブル保持部材を接続完了位置に配置した後は、光ファイバケーブルに引張等の外力が加わったときにも、ケーブル保持部材は接続完了位置に安定して機械的に係止されるので、光ファイバ心線に意図しない張力が加わる危惧は排除される。
図1及び図2は、本発明の一実施形態によるストレート型の光コネクタ10を示す図、図3〜図8は、光コネクタ10の各構成部品を示す図である。光コネクタ10は、光伝送路における接続/分離自在な接続部を、特に光伝送路の敷設工事現場で容易に形成できるものである。また、光コネクタ10は、フェルールに対して直線的に光ファイバケーブルを保持するケーブル保持部を備えたストレート型の光コネクタである。

Claims (5)
- 本体と、該本体に設置されるフェルールと、該フェルールに固定支持される予め定めた長さの組込光ファイバ素線と、該フェルールに近接して該本体に設置され、該フェルールから突出する該組込光ファイバ素線と該本体の外部から導入された光ファイバケーブルの光ファイバ素線とを、先端突き合わせ接続状態で固定支持するように動作できるスプライス部とを具備する光コネクタにおいて、
前記スプライス部に対し前記フェルールとは反対側で前記本体に設置され、前記本体に対し前記組込光ファイバ素線の延長方向に略平行な軸線方向へ移動可能であって、光ファイバケーブルを保持可能なケーブル保持部材と、
前記本体上で前記ケーブル保持部材を係止する係止構造とを具備し、
前記ケーブル保持部材は、光ファイバケーブルを保持した状態で、
前記固定支持する動作を遂行する前の前記スプライス部に接近する前記軸線方向へ移動することにより、前記スプライス部において前記光ファイバケーブルの光ファイバ素線を前記組込光ファイバ素線に突き合わせるとともに該スプライス部と該ケーブル保持部材との間で該光ファイバケーブルの光ファイバ心線を長さ方向押圧力下で撓曲させる接続準備位置に配置でき、
また、前記組込光ファイバ素線と前記光ファイバケーブルの前記光ファイバ素線とを前記先端突き合わせ接続状態で固定支持した後の前記スプライス部から離れる前記軸線方向へ移動することにより、該光ファイバケーブルの前記光ファイバ心線への前記長さ方向押圧力を解除する接続完了位置に配置でき、
前記係止構造は、
前記本体に係合する作用位置と前記本体に係合しない非作用位置との間で変位可能に前記ケーブル保持部材に支持される係止部材であって、前記ケーブル保持部材の上で該非作用位置から該作用位置に変位することにより、前記ケーブル保持部材を前記接続完了位置に係止する係止部材を具備すること、
を特徴とする光コネクタ。 - 前記本体上で前記ケーブル保持部材を前記接続準備位置に一時的に係止する係止構造をさらに具備する、請求項1に記載の光コネクタ。
- 前記本体は、前記ケーブル保持部材が前記接続準備位置にあることを、該本体の外側から目視可能に表示する指標を有する、請求項1又は2に記載の光コネクタ。
- 前記ケーブル保持部材は、光ファイバケーブルを受容する受容凹部と、該受容凹部内で該光ファイバケーブルのシースに係合して該光ファイバケーブルを該受容凹部に静止保持する係合突起とを備える、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の光コネクタ。
- 請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の光コネクタと、該光コネクタの前記フェルールに同心に衝合される第2フェルールを有する第2の光コネクタとを、互いに着脱可能に組み合わせて構成される光ファイバ接続システム。
