Description
Claims (10)
- 電極表面上にアッセイ試薬を付着させてアッセイ領域を形成する方法であって、
前記電極表面上の所定領域を被覆するためにインパクト駆動式の拡散を用いて、所定量の前記アッセイ試薬を前記電極表面上に分注する工程を含み、
前記電極表面は前記アッセイ試薬に対する電極表面の進入及び後退接触角を有する材料を含み、前記電極表面の進入及び後退接触角は少なくとも30度異なっており;
前記所定領域は前記アッセイ試薬に対する誘電体の進入及び後退接触角を有する誘電体材料によって定められ;
ここで、前記誘電体の後退接触角は前記電極表面の後退接触角よりも大きく;
前記所定領域は前記電極表面上の前記所定量の前記アッセイ試薬の定常状態の拡散エリアよりも広い所定のアッセイ試薬エリアを有する;
方法。 - 前記所定のアッセイ試薬エリアは、前記電極表面上の前記所定量の前記アッセイ試薬の定常状態の拡散エリアの少なくとも2倍である請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記分注工程は、前記所定量の前記アッセイ試薬を200cm/秒より速い速度で分注する工程を含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記電極表面はカーボンインクを含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記方法は、電磁弁式分注器、圧電式分注器、及びバブルジェット(登録商標)式分注器から成る群から選択される流体分注器を使用する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記誘電体の進入及び後退接触角は互いにほぼ等しく、前記電極表面の後退接触角よりも大きい請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記誘電体の進入及び後退接触角は互いに約20度以内であり、且つ前記電極表面の後退接触角よりも大きい請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記所定の量は、前記誘電体材料の上に拡散するアッセイ試薬が、前記誘電体材料と前記所定領域を定める前記電極表面との間の界面まで後退するように選択される請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記アッセイ試薬は実質的に界面活性剤を含まない請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記電極表面はプラズマで処理されていない請求項1に記載の方法。
