Description
1. 発明の分野
本発明は、一般に炭化水素含有地層のような各種地表下地層から可溶性材料及びその他の生成物を製造する方法及びシステムに関する。
地下地層から得られる炭化水素は、エネルギー資源、供給原料、及び消費製品として使用されることが多い。有用な炭化水素資源の枯渇に対する関心及び製造される炭化水素の全体的品質低下に対する関心から、一層効率的な回収、処理、及び/又は有用な炭化水素資源の使用方法が発展してきた。現場方法を用いて地下地層から炭化水素材料を取出すことができる。地下地層から炭化水素材料を一層容易に取出すには、地下地層中の炭化水素材料の化学的、及び/又は物理的特性を変化させる必要があるかも知れない。化学的、及び/又は物理的変化としては、移動可能な流体を生成する現場反応、地層中の炭化水素の組成変化、溶解度変化、密度変化、相変化、及び/又は粘度変化が挙げられる。流体は、限定されるものではないが、ガス、液体、エマルジョン、スラリー、及び/又は液体流と同様な流れ特性を有する固体粒子の流れであってよい。
ここに記載した実施態様は一般に、地表下地層を処理するシステム及び方法に関する。また、ここに記載した実施態様は、一般に溶液採鉱システム及び炭化水素含有地層から炭化水素を製造する現場熱処理法を使用する前に、炭化水素含有地層を処理する溶液採鉱システム及び方法に関する。
本発明の利点は、以下の詳細な説明により、また添付図面を参照すれば、当業者に明らかとなり得る。

以下の説明は、一般に地層中の炭化水素及び鉱物を処理するシステム及び方法に関する。このような地層は、炭化水素生成物、水素、鉱物、及びその他の生成物を生成させるために処理できる。
“炭化水素”は、主として炭素及び水素で形成された分子として定義される。炭化水素は、限定されるものではないが、ハロゲン、金属元素、窒素、酸素及び/又は硫黄のような他の元素を含有してもよい。炭化水素は、限定されるものではないが、ケロジェン、ビチュメン、ピロ(pyro)ビチュメン、油、天然鉱物蝋及びアスファルト鉱であってよい。炭化水素は、地球の鉱物基盤中又はその近くに定着している可能性がある。基盤としては、限定されるものではないが、堆積岩、砂、シリシライト(silicilyte)、炭酸塩、珪藻土、その他の多孔質媒体が挙げられる。“炭化水素流体”は、炭化水素を含有する流体である。炭化水素流体は、水素、窒素、一酸化炭素、二酸化炭素、硫化水素、水及びアンモニアのような非炭化水素流体を含有又は連行してもよいし、非炭化水素流体に連行されていてもよい。
“地層流体”とは、地層中に存在する流体のことで、熱分解流体、合成ガス、流動化(mobilized)流体、粘度低減化(visbroken)流体及び水(水蒸気)が挙げられる。地層流体は炭化水素流体であっても非炭化水素流体であってもよい。流動化流体とは、地層を熱処理した結果、流動可能となった炭化水素含有地層中の流体のことである。“粘度低減化流体”とは、地層を熱処理した結果、粘度が低下した流体のことである。
“製造又は生成した流体”とは、地層から取出した流体のことである。
“熱伝導性流体”とは、標準温度及び圧力(STP)(0℃、101.325kPa)の空気よりも熱伝導率が高い流体を意味する。
“現場熱処理法”とは、炭化水素含有地層中に流動化流体、粘度低減化流体、及び/又は熱分解流体が生成するように、地層の少なくとも一部を、流動化流体、炭化水素含有材料の粘度低減化(visbreaking)、及び/又は熱分解が生じる温度より高い温度に上がるまで、炭化水素含有地層を熱源で加熱する方法のことである。
“u形坑井孔”とは、地層の第一開口から伸びて、地層の少なくとも一部を経由し、地層の第二開口経由で出る坑井孔のことである。これに関連して坑井孔は、単に大凡“v”又は“u”の形状であって、“u”の脚が 、“u”形とみなされる坑井孔の“u”底部に対し互いに平行か、或いは垂直である必要はないと理解する。
“熱分解流体”又は“熱分解生成物”とは、ほぼ炭化水素の熱分解中に製造又は生成した流体のことである。熱分解反応で生成した流体は、地層中の他の流体と混合してよい。この混合物は、熱分解流体又は熱分解生成物とみなされる。ここで使用した“熱分解帯域”とは、反応するか、又は反応して熱分解流体を生成する或る容積の地層(例えばタールサンド地層のような比較的透過性のある地層)のことである。
“凝縮性炭化水素”は、25℃、1絶対圧で凝縮する炭化水素である。凝縮性炭化水素としては、炭素数が4を超える炭化水素の混合物がある。“非凝縮性炭化水素”は、25℃、1絶対圧で凝縮しない炭化水素である。非凝縮性炭化水素としては、炭素数が5未満の炭化水素の混合物がある。
“沈下”は、(地層の一部の)表面の初期の高さと比べた地層の一部の下方移動である。
層の“厚さ”とは、層の断面の厚さのことで、断面は、普通、層の面に対してである。
“タール”は、15℃での粘度が約10,000cPを超える粘稠な炭化水素である。タールの比重は、一般に1.000を超える。タールのAPI比重は、10°未満であってよい。
幾つかの実施態様では第一流体は、熱源で加熱されていない地層の一部に上昇温度で注入される。上昇温度は、第一流体の沸点未満の温度、例えば水では約90℃であってよい。上昇温度で第一流体を供給すると、地層の一部の温度は上昇する。特定の実施態様では、第一流体の注入中,及び/又は注入後、1つ以上の熱源から、追加の熱を供給できる。
図4は、溶液採鉱坑井212の実施態様を示す。絶縁部214は、帰路220を囲んでよい。入力路216は、帰路220内に位置してよい。幾つかの実施態様では入力路216は、第一流体を、帰路220の入口点の下の処理領域に導入できる。幾つかの実施態様では、帰路220への第二流体の入口点の上の入力路216から第一流体が地層に導入されるように、渡り路を用いて第一流体流及び第二流体流を向けてよい。

Claims (15)
- ナーコ石を含有する油頁岩地層の一部分(224’)に、少なくとも2つの注入坑井経由で第一流体を供給する工程、
少なくとも2つの注入坑井(212,236)間に流体が流動できるように該2つの注入坑井(212,236)が相互に連絡するまで、地層の前記一部分から、少なくとも1つの注入坑井(212,236)経由で第二流体を製造する工程であって、該第二流体は、第一流体中に溶解した少なくとも若干量のナーコ石を含有する該工程、
該相互連絡した注入坑井(212,236)の1つを経由して第一流体を注入する工程、
該相互連絡した注入坑井(212,236)の少なくとも1つから第二流体を製造する工程、
1つ以上のヒーター(202)から地層に熱を供給して、地層を加熱する工程、及び
地層から炭化水素流体を製造する工程、
を含むナーコ石含有油頁岩地層の処理方法において、
地層の前記一部分(224’)近くにほぼ不透過性の材料(228)の一区画を残す工程、及び
前記不透過性材料(228)内に延びる障壁(200,232)を形成する工程、
を更に含むことを特徴とする前記方法。 - 地層の前記一部分に制御量の酸化剤を供給する工程、
を更に含む請求項1に記載の方法。 - 地層の前記一部分(224’)の少なくとも若干を選択的に垂直方向にシフトさせる工程であって、該第二流体は、第一流体中に溶解した少なくとも若干量のナーコ石を含有する該工程、及び
前記1つ以上のヒーター(202)から地層に熱を供給して、前記垂直方向にシフトした地層(224’)の少なくとも一部を加熱する工程、
を更に含む請求項1に記載の方法。 - 地層の前記一部分(224’)に水蒸気含有第一流体を供給する工程であって、該第一流体の温度は、地層の前記一部分(224’)中の炭化水素の熱分解温度未満である該工程、及び
1つ以上のヒーター(202)から地層に熱を供給して、地層を加熱する工程、
を更に含む請求項1に記載の方法。 - 地層の前記一部分(224’)への流体流の出入りを阻止するため、前記一部分(224’)の側面に、ほぼ不透過性の材料(228)の一区画を残す工程を更に含む請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 地層の前記一部分(224’)への流体流の出入りを阻止するため、前記一部分(224’)上に、ほぼ不透過性の材料の一区画を残す工程を更に含む請求項1〜5のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 第一流体を地層の前記一部分(224’)に導入するため、及び/又は第二流体を地層の前記一部分(224’)から取出すために用いた少なくとも1つの坑井(202,212)が、前記一部分(224’)から炭化水素含有流体を取出すためにも用いられる請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 第一流体を導入する工程が、第一流体を第一注入坑井(212,236)及び第二注入坑井(212,236)経由で導入する工程を含み、第一流体の導入により第一注入坑井(212,236)及び第二注入坑井(212,236)に近接する前記一部分の透過率が増大し、該第一注入坑井(212,236)付近の増大した透過率が第二注入坑井(212,236)付近の増大した透過率と重複し、これにより第一注入坑井(212,236)を経由した第一流体の導入及び第二注入坑井(212,236)を経由した第二流体の取出しを行なう請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 第一流体が熱水を含む請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 第一流体の加熱に使用された熱が、地層の予備処理部分から回収される請求項1〜9のいずれか1項に記載の方法。

- 地層の前記一部分(224’)の少なくとも若干量のドウソナイトを供給熱で分解する工程、該一部分(224’)にキレート化剤を供給して、少なくとも若干量のドウソナイトの分解生成物を溶解する工程、及び溶解したドウソナイトの分解生成物を製造する工程を更に含む請求項1〜11のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 第一流体の温度が、炭化水素流体の製造中、地層中の製造坑井(206)の閉塞を防止するように選択される請求項1〜12のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 地層の前記一部分(224’)から製造した炭化水素から、輸送用燃料及び/又は他の炭化水素含有組成物を製造する工程を更に含む請求項11に記載の方法。
- 地層の第二部分に前記1つ以上のヒーター(202)から熱を供給して、該第二部分を加熱する工程、及び
地層の該第二部分の熱を用いて前記第二流体を加熱し、ソーダ灰を製造する工程であって、該第二流体は第一流体中に溶解した少なくとも若干量の重炭酸ナトリウムを含有する該工程、
を更に含む請求項1〜14のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
