Abstract
Description
(a)セルロース繊維を供給するステップ;
(b)少なくとも1種の充填剤および/または顔料を供給するステップ;
(c)セルロース繊維と少なくとも1種の充填剤および/または顔料とを配合するステップ;
(d)少なくとも1種の充填剤および/または顔料の存在下で、ゲルが形成されるまで、セルロース繊維をフィブリル化するステップ
を特徴とする。
(i)ゲルはより効率的に形成され得るが、それにもかかわらず、ゲルが徐々に形成されるにつれて粘度が上昇する(比較的低いレベル線で)こと、
(ii)粘度がプロセス中で使用可能な実行最高値に近く再度上昇するまで、本発明によって実行することによって、粘度臨界プロセスでさらにより有益なゲルを作ることができること
を可能にさせ、これは、さらにより微細なゲルへの進行が、以前に達成することができたよりもさらに進んだことを意味する。
本発明を実証するために、高精砕パルプ(製紙工場で使用されるパルプ精砕機を用いて、80−83°SRに精砕した、20°SRの標準ユーカリパルプ)およびこのパルプと規定量の炭酸塩(存在する繊維の乾燥重量に基づいて100重量%、乾燥対乾燥(d/d)を、ホモジナイザーを用いてフィブリル化した。このパルプ(対照)および混合物を、約1000バール圧で10時間均質化し、粘度測定値およびSEM写真は、規定の時間間隔で取った。
炭酸塩: Omyacarb 1 AV(GCC、存在する繊維の重量に基づいて100重量%の固形分、重量メジアン粒径d50=1.7μm(Sedigraph5100で測定して))(Omya AGから入手できる。)
パルプ: 製紙工場で使用される精砕機を用いて80−83°SRにフィブリル化した標準ユーカリパルプ(20°SR)。ショッパーリーグラー度(°SR)は、Zellcheming Merkblatt V/7/61によって測定し、ISO5267/1で標準化した。
3.1試料調製
1つのホモジナイザーの長期試験のために、1000g(約3重量%の固形分)の入手したままのパルプを1250gの水道水と、撹拌機(4000rpmの回転速度で動作する溶解機ディスク)を用いて混合し、約1.3重量%の固形分を生じた。必要に応じて、対応する量の炭酸カルシウム(Omyacarb 1 AV)を、さらに撹拌しながら添加した(表1参照)。このスラリーの対応する量を採取し、以下に記載するとおりに粘度実験およびSEM顕微鏡写真撮影を行った。スラリーの残部をホモジナイザーの槽に移した。粘度測定に使用した試料は、測定を行った後に本方法にリサイクルした。
Homogenizer(GEA Niro Soavi;NS2006L型)をフィブリル化実験に使用した。その槽を外部の二重プロペラ撹拌機で撹拌して、スラリーの沈殿を防止し、良好な変換を維持した。
4.1粘度測定
4.1.1ブルックフィールド粘度
粘度測定は、Brookfield DV−II+粘度計で行った。モータ速度は、100rpmに設定し、粘度は、10秒、60秒および600秒後に読み取った。試料は、室温または50℃で測定した。試料は、熱制御超音波浴中で加熱した。
レオロジー測定は、CC28.7測定系を有するPaar−Physika MCR300を用いて行った。
走査電子顕微鏡写真(SEM)は、0.5gの試料を200cm3の蒸留水に添加し、次いで、0.8μmの微細孔ニトロセルロースフィルターを通してろ過した。上に横たわる試料を有するフィルターを真空乾燥機で乾燥させた。この方法でこの膜フィルター上に得た調製物に、50mm金をスパッタリングし、様々な倍率でSEMにおいて評価した。
5.1粘度測定
図1から、均質化の間の粘度(ブルックフィールド)の評価を行った。粘度は、600秒後に読み取った。試料は、約35℃で測定した(これは、均質化チャンバー後に直ちに採取した試料の温度であった)。試料1は、パルプのみであり、したがって、炭酸カルシウム含有試料2に対する対照材料として用いた。既に述べたように、粘度は、フィブリル化の間に増加する。理解されるように、100重量%の炭酸カルシウム(存在する繊維の乾燥重量に基づいて;d/d)を含有する試料2は常に、対照より低い粘度を示したが、均質化時間が増すにつれてやはり増加する。
図3で分かるように、すべての試料は、せん断減粘性挙動を示す。表2は、対照、およびその100重量%炭酸カルシウム共均質化混合物、ならびに100重量%のブレンドの18000s−1における粘度を示す。ブルックフィールド測定のデータ(図2)と同様に、100%重量%炭酸塩共均質化は、最も低い粘度(8mPa・s)を示し、100重量%炭酸塩ブレンドは、最も高い粘度(17mPa・s)を示した。
均質化前の図4a(試料1を指す)および図4b(試料2を指す)を、それぞれ、均質化2時間後の図5aおよび図5bと、それぞれ、および均質化10時間後の図6aおよび図6bと、それぞれ比較すると、均質化時間が増加するとともにパルプ繊維はより微細になることが理解され、この理論に拘束されることを望まないが、フィブリルの一定の微粉度が達成された後に、それらは、炭酸塩粒子の周りを包み、炭酸塩粒子の上部に一種の層を形成するようにみえる。
本発明の文脈における「効率」は、比エネルギー消費当たりに得られるブルックフィールド粘度(より高いブルックフィールド粘度は、より高い程度のフィブリル化を意味するより安定なゲルを意味する。)と定義される。
実施例のすべて(実施例4−9)は、グリットクラス46(グリットサイズ297−420μm)を有する炭化ケイ素の石を取り付けた超微細摩擦粉砕機(日本国、Masuko Sangyo Co.Ltd.製Supermasscolloider(Model MKCA6−2)によって処理した。石の間のすき間は、「−50」μm(供給業者によって引き渡されたマニュアルに記載のとおりの、動的0点)に調整した。回転粉砕機の速度は、1−5回の通過について2500rpm、6回および7回の通過について2000rpm、8回および9回の通過について1500rpm、10回および11回の通過について1000rpm、12回および13回の通過について750rpmならびに14回および15回の通過について500rpmに設定した。
エネルギー測定は、主電源と変圧器の間に電気計器(ELKO Syteme AG、DIZ D665Di)を設置し、全Supermasscolloiderシステム(供給業者から引き渡されたままの)のエネルギー取込みを測定することによって行った。電気計器は、ワット時当たり1シグナルをデジタルカウンター(Hengstler、tico731)に送り、1ワット時の精度で、通過の最後における通過当たりのエネルギー消費を読み取ることができる。
固形分は、Mettler Toledo HB 43−S Halogen固体バランスを用いて測定した。最終の全質量は、Mettler PK 36 Delta Rangeバランスを用いて測定した。初期の乾燥質量は、実験の開始時の全乾燥計量の合計である(詳細な組成は、1つの実験の処方で見出すことができる。)。
ブルックフィールド粘度は、Brookfield Model DV−II+Viscometerで測定した。
1.元の製品の固形分およびブルックフィールド粘度(100rpm、30秒後に測定)を測定する。

試料4(比較):
180gの乾燥ユーカリパルプおよび5820gの水道水を、溶解機ディスク(d=70mm)を取り付けたPendraulik撹拌機を用いて2000rpmで少なくとも10分間混合した。この混合物を、対応の段落における上記のとおりのSupermasscolloiderによって処理した。この例は、3回行い、その再現性を示した。
180gの乾燥ユーカリパルプ、5820gの水道水および18gのOmyacarb 1 AV(10:1パルプ対充填剤、乾燥/乾燥)を、溶解機ディスク(d=70mm)を取り付けたPendraulik撹拌機を用いて2000rpmで少なくとも10分間混合した。この混合物を、対応の段落で上記のとおりのSupermasscolloiderによって処理した。この実施例は、3回行い、その再現性を示した。
180gの乾燥ユーカリパルプ、5820gの水道水および540gのOmyacarb 1 AV(1:3パルプ対充填剤、乾燥/乾燥)を、溶解機ディスク(d=70mm)を取り付けたPendraulik撹拌機を用いて、2000rpmで少なくとも10分間混合した。この混合物を対応の段落で上記したとおりのSupermasscolloiderで処理した。この実験は、2回行い、その再現性を示した。

180gの乾燥マツパルブ、5820gの水道水および180gのFinntalc F40(1:1パルプ対充填剤、乾燥/乾燥)を、溶解機ディスク(d=70mm)を取り付けたPendraulik撹拌機を用いて、2000rpmで少なくとも10分間混合した。この混合物を対応の段落で上記したとおりのSupermasscolloiderで処理した。
180gの乾燥ユーカリパルブ、5820gの水道水および360gのNano GCC(1:1パルプ対充填剤、乾燥/乾燥)を、溶解機ディスク(d=70mm)を取り付けたPendraulik撹拌機を用いて、2000rpmで少なくとも10分間混合した。この混合物を対応の段落で上記したとおりのSupermasscolloiderで処理した。
試料4−7:
試料4−7を比較すると、効率は、より多くの充填剤(すなわち最大250%だけ)の存在下で製造したゲルについて増加することが明らかである。効率利得は、充填剤の非存在下で形成されたゲルと比較して15%を超えているはずである。
試料8および9は、充填剤添加の固有のブルックフィールド粘度の増加のために、ブルックフィールド粘度−補正は行わなかった(「ブルックフィールド粘度決定」のセクション参照)。
Claims (17)
- (a)セルロース繊維を供給するステップ;
(b)少なくとも1種の充填剤および/または顔料を供給するステップ;
(c)セルロース繊維と少なくとも1種の充填剤および/または顔料とを配合するステップ;
(d)少なくとも1種の充填剤および/または顔料の存在下で、ゲルが形成されるまで、セルロース繊維をフィブリル化するステップ
を特徴とする、ナノフィブリルセルロースゲルを製造する方法。 - 得られたナノフィブリルセルロースゲルのブルックフィールド粘度が、充填剤および/または顔料の非存在下でフィブリル化された対応するナノフィブリルセルロース懸濁液のブルックフィールド粘度よりも低いことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の方法。
- セルロース繊維が、ユーカリパルプ、トウヒパルプ、マツパルプ、ブナパルプ、麻パルプ、綿パルプ、およびこれらの混合物からなる群から選択されるパルプに含有されるようなものであることを特徴とする、請求項1または2のいずれか一項に記載の方法。

- 充填剤および/または顔料が、沈降炭酸カルシウム(好ましくは、バテライト、カルサイトまたはアラゴナイト結晶構造を有する。);天然重質炭酸カルシウム(好ましくは、大理石、石灰石および/または白亜から選択される。);およびこれらの混合物からなる群から選択されることを特徴とする、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 沈降炭酸カルシウムが、超微細で離散した、角柱形状、偏三角形状または菱面体形状の沈降炭酸カルシウムであることを特徴とする、請求項5または6のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 充填剤および/または顔料の粒子が、0.01から15μm、好ましくは0.1から10μm、より好ましくは0.3から5μm、最も好ましくは0.5から4μmのメジアン粒径を有することを特徴とする、請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 充填剤および/または顔料が、ポリカルボン酸および/またはそれらの塩もしくは誘導体、例えば、アクリル酸、メタクリル酸、マレイン酸、フマル酸、イタコン酸などに基づくエステルなど、例えば、アクリルアミドもしくはアクリル酸エステル(メチルメタクリレートなど)、またはこれらの混合物のホモポリマーまたはコポリマー;アルカリポリリン酸塩、ホスホン酸、クエン酸および酒石酸およびこれらの塩またはエステル;またはこれらの混合物からなる群から選択される分散剤を伴っていることを特徴とする、請求項1から8のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 繊維と少なくとも1種の充填剤および/または顔料との配合が、充填剤および/または顔料を繊維にまたは繊維を充填剤および/または顔料に1または数ステップで添加することによって行われることを特徴とする、請求項1から9のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 充填剤および/もしくは顔料ならびに/または繊維が、前記フィブリル化ステップ(d)の前にまたは間に、好ましくは前記フィブリル化ステップ(d)の前に全部または複数回に分けて添加されることを特徴とする、請求項1から10のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 乾燥重量基準で繊維対充填剤および/または顔料の重量比が、1:33から10:1、好ましくは1:10から7:1、より好ましくは1:5から5:1、典型的には1:3から3:1、さらにより好ましくは1:2から2:1、最も好ましくは1:1.5から1.5:1、例えば、1:1であることを特徴とする、請求項1から11のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- フィブリル化が、ホモジナイザーまたは超微細摩擦粉砕機によって行われることを特徴とする、請求項1から12のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- ナノフィブリルゲルが、請求項1から13のいずれか一項に記載の方法によって調製されることを特徴とする、ナノフィブリルセルロースゲルを製造する効率を向上させる方法。
- 請求項1から13のいずれか一項または請求項14に記載の方法によって得られるナノフィブリルセルロースゲル。
- 一定のブルックフィールド粘度を得るための全エネルギー消費に対するナノフィブリルセルロースゲルの効率が、充填剤および/もしくは顔料の非存在下でフィブリル化された対応するナノフィブリルセルロースゲルまたは充填剤および/もしくは顔料を含有しない対応するゲルの効率よりも高いことを特徴とする、請求項15に記載のナノフィブリルセルロースゲル。
- 材料複合体、プラスチック、塗料、ゴム、コンクリート、セラミック、接着剤、食品などの用途におけるまたは創傷治癒用途における、請求項15または16のいずれかに記載のナノフィブリルセルロースゲルの使用。
