Abstract
Un procedimiento para fabricar una pluralidad de hidrocarburos, que comprende poner en contacto de bromuro de metilo y una zeolita dopada con un metal alcalino térreo, a una temperatura y una presión suficiente para dar lugar a una pluralidad de hidrocarburos, reciclar al menos una parte de los hidrocarburos C1 a C3 que se forman, y permitir que la al menos parte de los hidrocarburos C1 a C3 reciclados entre en contacto con la zeolita para formar uno o más hidrocarburos C4 o superiores.

Campo de la invención
La presente invención se refiere de manera general a la oligomerización de hidrocarburos, y más particularmente a un procedimiento de fabricación de hidrocarburos que emplea catalo-reaccionantes.
Antecedentes de la invención
Los científicos han buscado durante tiempo modos eficaces de convertir metano y otros alcanos en hidrocarburos superiores, incluyendo olefinas ligeras y materiales del intervalo de la gasolina. Los procedimientos eficaces podrían crear valor en un número de formas, que incluyen: facilitar la utilización de gas natural presurizado en ubicaciones remotas a través de su conversión en combustibles líquidos más fácilmente transportables y materias primas, y permitiendo el uso de materias primas baratas (metano y otros alcanos inferiores) para los productos finales, con frecuencia, fabricados a partir de alcanos superiores, incluyendo etileno y propileno.
Las patentes de EE.UU. Nos. 6.486.368, 6.472.572, 6.465.699 y 6.462.696 y 6.462.243 divulgan procedimientos para convertir alcanos en olefinas, éteres y alcoholes. Muchos de los procedimientos divulgados implican la halogenación de un alcano, el paso de los productos halogenados sobre un óxido de metal para crear productos y un haluro metálico, la recuperación del(de los) producto(s) y la regeneración de haluro metálico con oxígeno o aire para dar lugar al óxido de metal y el halógeno para reciclar en el procedimiento. No se describe la oligomerización de alcanos: acoplamiento sustancial del hidrocarburo de partida para obtener el(los) producto(s) de número de carbonos más elevado.
Varios investigadores han examinado el uso de halogenación para la producción de hidrocarburos superiores a partir de metano. Las patentes representativas incluyen 4.513.092 (Chu), 4.769.504 (Noceti y Taylor), 5.087.786 (Nubel) y
6.452.058 (Schweitzer). Como se describe en la patente de Taylor: “Aromatic-rich, gasoline boiling range hydrocarbons [están fabricados] a partir de alcanos inferiores, en particular de metano. El proceso se lleva a cabo en dos etapas. En la primera, el alcano se hace reaccionar con oxígeno y ácido clorhídrico sobre un catalizador de oxihidrocloración tal como cloruro de cobre con proporciones menores de cloruro de potasio y cloruro de un elemento de las tierras raras. Estos producen un intermedio de mezcla gaseosa que contiene agua y alcanos clorados. Los alcanos clorados se ponen en contacto con un catalizador de aluminosilicato cristalino en la forma favorecida por metal o hidrógeno para producir hidrocarburos en el intervalo de la gasolina con una elevada proporción de aromáticos y un pequeño porcentaje de hidrocarburos ligeros (C2-C4), así como también el reformado de HCl. Los hidrocarburos ligeros se pueden reciclar para el procesado posterior sobre el catalizador de oxihidrocloración. Todas estas técnicas par la fabricación de alcanos superiores a partir de materias primas C1 presentan la desventaja de que la corriente de hidrocarburo se debe separar de la corriente de ácido hidrohálico acuoso, y se debe reciclar la corriente de ácido hidrohálico.
La patente de EE.UU. 4.795.843 (Tomotsu y col.) divulga un procedimiento para oligomerizar halometanos hasta productos que incluyen benceno, tolueno y xilenos, usando un polimorfo de sílice o catalizadores de silicalita. El procedimiento no incorpora la neutralización reactiva de acido halhídrico y parece que presenta parámetros cinéticos lentos.
En el procedimiento de halogenación de hidrocarburos, Chang y Perkins apreciaron cantidades traza de productos de oligomerización en presencia de zeolitas en el documento EE.UU. 4.654.449. Los productos de oligomerización resultaron escasos en cuanto a cantidad, y generalmente halogenados.
El documento de EE.UU. 4.373.109 (Olah) divulga un proceso para convertir metanos heterosustituidos, incluyendo haluros de metano, mediante la puesta en contacto de dichos metanos con catalizadores ácido-base bifuncionales a temperaturas elevadas, entre 200 y 450 ºC, preferentemente entre 250 y 375 ºC, para producir olefinas predominantemente inferiores, preferentemente etileno y propileno. Los catalizadores de preferencia son los derivados de haluros, oxihaluros, óxidos, sulfuros u oxisulfuros de metales de transición de los Grupos IV, V, VI, VIII de la Tabla Periódica, tal como tántalo, niobio, circonio, tungsteno, titanio y cromo, depositados sobre óxidos ácidos y sulfuros tales como alúmina, sílice, circonia o sílice-alúmina. No se divulga ni el uso de recuperación de halógeno basada en óxidos sólidos ni la formación de alcoholes. Una referencia relacionada es “Ylide chemistry 1. Bifunctional acid-base-catalyzed conversion of heterosubstituted methanes into ethylene and derived hydrocarbons. El mecanismo de onio-iluro de la “conversión C1-C2”por George A. Olah y col. (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 106, 2143 (1984)).
El documento de EE.UU. 3.894.107 (Butter y col.) divulga mejoras para un procedimiento para condensar hidrocarburos halogenados usando catalizadores de zeolita. Cualquier discusión sobre neutralización de haluros de hidrógeno basados en óxido sólidos se encuentra notablemente ausente.
Kochi ha observado el acoplamiento reductivo de haluros de alquilo cuando se hacen reaccionar bromuros de metales de transición con reactivos de Grignard de bajo peso molecular en THF o éter dietílico (Bulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan v. 44 1971 pp. 3063-73). Este no es el mismo tipo de proceso que el acoplamiento deshidrohalogenativo y la neutralización de haluro de hidrógeno que los inventores describen en el presente documento.
Sumario de la invención
La presente invención aborda la necesidad de un modo eficaz de convertir metano y otros hidrocarburos en hidrocarburos superiores. En una realización, se prepara un hidrocarburo que tiene un número de carbono Cn, en el que n ≥ 2, permitiendo que un hidrocarburo reaccionante que tiene un número de carbono Cm, en el que m < n, reaccione con un agente de halogenación, formándose de este modo un hidrocarburos halogenado; permitiendo que el hidrocarburo halogenado se ponga en contacto con un calo-reaccionante de metal-oxígeno, dando lugar a la formación de este modo de un hidrocarburo producto que presenta un número de carbono Cm, en el que n � 2; recuperar el hidrocarburo de producto; y regenerar el calo-reaccionante. Con frecuencia, se obtiene una mezcla de hidrocarburos, pero con la selección cuidadosa del hidrocarburo reaccionante, catalizadores. El procedimiento no incorpora la neutralización reactiva de haluro de hidrógeno, y parece que presenta parámetros cinéticos lentos.
En un procedimiento para la halogenación de hidrocarburos, Chang y Perkins apreciaron cantidades traza de productos de oligomerización en presencia de zeolitas en el documento de EE.UU. 4.654.449. Los productos de oligomerización presentaron una cantidad escasa, y generalmente fueron halogenados.

Los inventores conocen la comunicación de Lorkovic y col. (Chem. Commun, 2004, 566-567) en el que los autores demuestran un esquema alternativo para el acoplamiento C1 por medio de bromación de metano, seguido de la condensación concurrente de bromometano y la neutralización cuantitativa de HBr; la regeneración del óxido de metal con O2 con recuperación de Br2 completa el ciclo.
Lorkovic y col. (Catalysis Today, volumen 98, números 1-2, 24 de noviembre de 2004, páginas 317-322 ) describen un nuevo procedimiento de multi-etapa integrado para la oxidación parcial de alcanos hasta alcoholes, éteres u olefinas usando O2 como oxidante. Las transformaciones secuenciales son: (1) bromación de alcanos hasta bromuro(s) de alquilo y HBr, (2) reacción de la presente mezcla con óxido de metal sólido (MO) para neutralizar el HBr y generar productos oxigenados u olefinas más el bromuro de metal sólido, y (3) oxidación del sólido gastado con O2 para regenerar el óxido de metal y Br2 para reutilización.
De igual forma, Lorkovic y col (Catalysis Today, volumen 98, número 4, 14 de diciembre de 2004, páginas 589-594) describen un procedimiento con mediación de bromo de tres etapas para el acoplamiento oxidativo de metano usando O2 como oxidante. En la primera etapa, se trata un bromuro de metal sobre un soporte con O2 para regenerar Br2 y el óxido de metal sobre el soporte. El Br2 formado de este modo reaccionar con CH4 en exceso, dando lugar a una mezcla de CH4, bromometanos y HBr. La mezcla se hace pasar sobre un material compuesto de CaO/zeolita que condensa los bromocarburos con una conversión de 100 % en productos, y neutraliza el HBr para reformar el bromuro de metal. El producto resultante contiene hidrocarburos superiores, CH4 en exceso y agua. Una vez que se ha gastado la capacidad de neutralización de HBr del CaO, el CaBr2/ZSM-5 sobre soporte puede servir
como catalizador para el acoplamiento de bromuro de metilo. Se comentan el efecto de la temperatura, presión, y tiempo de reacción sobre la bromación de metano intermedio así como también sobre la distribución total de producto de oxidación parcial.
Sumario de la invención
Las reivindicaciones principales y sub-reivindicaciones adjuntas explican respectivamente características esenciales y opcionales de la presente invención.
De este modo, la presente invención aborda la necesidad de una manera eficaz de convertir metano en hidrocarburos superiores. En una realización, se preparar un hidrocarburo que presenta un número de carbono Cn, en el que n ≥ 4, permitiendo la reacción de metano con un agente de bromación, dando lugar de este modo a la formación de bromuro de metilo; permitiendo que el bromuro de metilo entre en contacto con una zeolita dopada, formando de este modo un hidrocarburo producto que presenta un número de carbono de Cn, en el que n 2; recuperar el hidrocarburo producto, y regenerar la zeolita dopada. Con frecuencia, se obtiene una mezcla de hidrocarburos, pero la selección cuidadosa del agente de bromación, la zeolita dopada y de las condiciones de reacción permiten un enfoque adaptado a la formación del producto de hidrocarburo. Las observaciones de laboratorio, enfocadas en la oligomerización de metano y el acoplamiento de bromuro de metilo, han detectado especies C4-C10, incluyendo alcanos, alquenos, hidrocarburos ramificados y compuestos aromáticos.
Descripción detallada de la invención
La presente invención explota el descubrimiento de que las zeolitas dopadas con metal alcalino-térreo facilitan la oligomerización de hidrocarburos.
De manera más general, una realización del procedimiento abarca las etapas de bromación de metano, recuperación del producto de oligomerización y regeneración del catalo-reaccionante. Se puede separar el bromuro de metilo del metano que no ha reaccionado antes o después de la reacción con la zeolita dopada. De manera ventajosa, la neutralización de cualquier ácido hidrobrómico formado durante la síntesis se logra de manera concomitante con el acoplamiento de carbono-carbono y/o la regeneración de zeolita. Preferentemente, el procedimiento es integrado y tiene lugar, por ejemplo en un reactor de zonas, como se describe, por ejemplo, en el documento de EE.UU. 6.525.230 (Grosso). De este modo, la bromación de metano tiene lugar dentro de una zona del reactor, y está seguida de la etapa de condensación en la cual el ácido hidrobrómico liberado es adsorbido dentro de la misma zeolita dopada que cataliza la condensación del hidrocarburo bromado. La oligomerización de hidrocarburos (definida como acoplamiento carbono-carbono) tiene lugar dentro de esta zona del reactor y da lugar a hidrocarburos producto que, en general, y siguiente el reciclaje de las especies C1 a C3, presentan números de carbono que varían de C4 a C20, y pueden incluir alcanos, alquenos, alquinos y/o compuestos aromáticos. El tratamiento con aire u oxígeno libera bromo para su uso en las etapas posteriores de bromación, y regenera el material de zeolita dopada para la condensación posterior o metátesis. De manera ventajosa, la necesidad de reciclar/recuperar el ácido hidrobrómico acuoso y corrosivo se evita debido a que la regeneración y la recuperación tienen lugar in situ.
La síntesis de hidrocarburos superiores comienza con metano, preferentemente en forma de gas natural (predominantemente metano, pero que con frecuencia incluye cantidades pequeñas de C2 y especies superiores). También se pueden usar las mezclas de metano con otros hidrocarburos.
Se hace reaccionar el metano con un agente de bromación.. Ejemplos no limitantes incluyen bromo molecular, bromuros de alquilo (por ejemplo, dibromometano, bromoformo, tetrabromuro de carbono) y bromuros condensados, tales como bromuros de metal, que pueden estar presentes como material sólido, líquido, sobre soporte o no.
El bromo molecular (Br2) es el más preferido. El bromo es un líquido a temperatura ambiente y resulta fácil de manipular. El bromo también presenta parámetros energéticos favorables.
El potencial de reducción de bromo a bromuro es de 1,07 vs NHE, mientras que el de oxígeno a agua es de 1,23 V. Un amplio intervalo de bromuros metálicos puede liberar bromo tras el tratamiento con oxígeno. Al mismo tiempo, la bromación de metano y el posterior acoplamiento de bromuro de metilo y la neutralización de HBr son únicamente moderadamente exotérmicos, pero suficientemente espontáneos para llegar hasta la finalización. El agua y los hidrocarburos acoplados son los únicos productos fluidos. Lo mismo no sería cierto con cloro como mediador, para el cual HCl es el componente principal de la corriente de producto. La producción de ácido clorhídrico requiere la separación, secado y reciclaje, lo cual resulta costoso. Brevemente, la termoquímica de la oxidación parcial de alcanos con mediación de bromuro de metal resulta bien apropiada para la operación de la planta de manera eficaz y rentable.
La bromación puede avanzar de varias formas, dependiendo en parte del(de los) producto(s) deseado(s) y en parte de la alimentación. En una realización, se somete el metano a bromación con bromo molecular usando calor, luz u otra radiación electromagnética para llevar a cabo la reacción, prefiriéndose el calor. Existen ventajas de disponer de todas las etapas – bromación, oligomerización y regeneración (descritas anteriormente) – ocurren a prácticamente la misma temperatura. Para el procedimiento de acoplamiento carbono-carbono descrito en el presente documento, un
intervalo ideal de temperatura, en el cual todas las etapas tienen lugar a practicamente la misma temperatura, es de 450 a 550 ºC.
No obstante, las etapas de reacción individuales se pueden llevar a cabo a temperaturas por encima o por debajo del presente intervalo. De hecho, los rendimientos de la gasolina son mejores a temperaturas de reacción reducidas y, en algunos ejemplos siguientes, la reacción de bromuro de metilo con una zeolita dopada con metal alcalinotérreo se lleva a cabo a una temperatura de 225 a 350 ºC y una presión de 1 a 5 bar (de 14,5 a 72,5 psi. Para un proceso completamente integrado, no obstante, la ingeniería favorece el avance de las tres reacciones a una temperatura similar.
Preferentemente, la bromación tiene lugar a una presión entre 0,1 y 200 atm para la etapa posterior de carbonocarbono. Una presión reducida favorece menos acoplamiento carbono-carbono (es decir, un peso molecular medio del producto más bajo), mientras que la presión favorece un acoplamiento mayor. Es probable que los procedimientos para olefinas ligeras tengan lugar de 0,41 MPa a 1,38 MPa, aunque de manera alternativa se pueden utilizar presiones más elevadas. Para la producción de moléculas en el intervalo de las gasolinas, se prevén presiones de alrededor de 2,41 MPa. Como cuestión práctica, la operación por debajo de presión atmosférica (de manera más conservativa, por debajo de 0,01 MPa)o por encima de 100 atm resulta improbable.
Cuando se usa bromo molecular como agente de bromación, de manera ideal la bromación se lleva a cabo a una proporción de metano:bromo de entre 1:10 y aproximadamente 100:1, en una base de volumen en volumen. Con proporciones de metano:bromo menores que 1:10 (es decir, más bromo), se forman hidrocarburos multi-bromados, que típicamente conducen a la oxidación completa (es decir, CO2) tras el contacto posterior con la zeolita dopada. A proporciones de metano:bromo mayores que 100:1, la conversión en hidrocarburo bromado es demasiado baja, quizás de 1 % o menos, y es casi imposible imaginar un procedimiento rentable con dichos niveles de conversión. (de manera más probable conversiones de 30-60 % son los valores límite inferiores).
La alteración de la proporción de bromo con respecto a metano puede presentar un impacto importante sobre la distribución de producto. Por ejemplo, se puede escoger controlar el grado de bromación con el fin de reducir la formación aromática en la producción de olefinas inferiores o combustibles. Un segundo ejemplo consiste en minimizar el metano altamente bromado con el fin de reducir la formación de alquinos.
Una característica clave de la invención consiste en el uso de zeolita dopada, que facilita el acoplamiento carbonocarbono, es decir, la oligomerización de hidrocarburos. Sin estar ligado a teoría alguna, se piensa que la zeolita dopada cataliza el acoplamiento carbono-carbono por medio de la eliminación de ácido bromhídrico (HBr) y la inserción de alquilideno en el interior de enlaces C-H activados y posiblemente C-C. La zeolita dopada también actúa como agente de liberación de bromo y agente de fijación, y ofrece la posibilidad de obtener una distribución ajustable de producto de acoplamiento, incluyendo la capacidad de producir oxigenados si se desea, que de forma simultánea atrapan y recuperar bromo, emitiendo únicamente agua como subproducto. El tratamiento con aire u oxígeno regenera la zeolita dopada.
Los agentes de dopaje son metales alcalino-térreos, tales como calcio y magnesio, y sus óxidos y/o hidróxidos.
Las zeolitas se encuentran disponibles a partir de una variedad de fuentes, incluyendo Zeolyst International (Valley, Forge, PA). Los ejemplos específicos incluyen ZSM-5 dopada y mordenita dopada (en la que, por ejemplo, calcio y/o magnesio son los agentes de dopaje).
Cabe esperar que la modificación de las propiedades de la zeolita o del componente de zeolita del material compuesto de zeolita/óxido de metal también modifique la distribución del producto. Se espera que el tamaño de poro y la acidez sean particularmente importantes. Se puede usar la acidez para controlar la longitud de cadena y la funcionalidad, y el tamaño de poro puede controlar la longitud de cadena y la funcionalidad. Las zeolitas de tamaño de poro particular pueden producir benceno, tolueno, para-xileno, orto-xileno, meta-xileno, xilenos mixtos, etil benceno, estireno, alquil benceno lineal u otros productos aromáticos. El uso del tamaño de poro no se encuentra limitado a los productos aromáticos.
En una realización de la invención, se prepara un material compuesto de óxido/zeolita mezclando una zeolita con un nitrato de metal alcalino-térreo, tal como nitrato de calcio o sus especies hidratadas, y posteriormente calcinando esta mezcla para liberar los óxidos de nitrógeno y retener la zeolita impregnada de óxido de metal.
Tras la oligomerización, se regenera la zeolita dopada por medio de tratamiento con aire u oxígeno, típicamente a una temperatura de 200 a 900 ºC. Esto convierte las especies de bromuro de metal en especies de oxígeno-metal.
Un número de variables, incluyendo la composición de alimentación, localización de la alimentación en el reactor, temperatura, presión, composición de la zeolita dopada y tiempo de residencia en el reactor pueden alterar la distribución del producto. Se ha detectado y confirmado la producción de alcanos, olefinas y productos aromáticos a partir de metano. También cabe esperar la capacidad de producir alcanos y olefinas de ramificación particular (incluyendo alcoholes ramificados mono-metílicos), alcoholes, dioles, éteres, hidrocarburos bromados, compuestos aromáticos incluyendo benceno, estireno, etil benceno, tolueno, xilenos y alquil bencenos lineales e hidrocarburos apropiados para su uso en combustibles tales como gasolina, diesel y combustible para reactores.
El control de la composición de alimentación puede controlar la distribución de producto. En primer lugar, se puede neutralizar el ácido bromhídrico producido en la bromación (para formar agua o alcohol) con la misma zeolita dopada que genera los productos de hidrocarburos, o con un compuesto de oxígeno-metal por separado en un reactor distinto. La variación de la localización de la neutralización de ácido bromhídrico puede variar la distribución de producto, incluyendo la funcionalidad, longitud de cadena y ramificación. Por ejemplo, cabe esperar que la neutralización concurrente y la formación de producto lleven a cabo la producción de alcoholes, que posteriormente pueden experimentar o no reacciones tales como acoplamiento o deshidratación. En segundo lugar, la adición de agua a la alimentación puede variar la distribución de producto. En particular, la adición de agua puede favorecer los productos de alcohol. La adición de agua también puede controlar el grado y el tipo de ramificación y longitud de cadena. En tercer lugar, la adición de hidrógeno puede alterar la distribución del producto. El hidrógeno también puede reducir el secado y puede ayudar al control de la longitud de cadena y de la ramificación.
Se apreciará que la oligomerización carbono-carbono puede avanzar por medio de un número de mecanismos. Incluso una materia prima que únicamente contiene metano da lugar a más de un producto. Por otra parte, en una realización de la invención, se usa la bromación controlada para producir de manera predominante un isómero en favor de otro (por ejemplo, la formación selectiva de 1-buteno o 2-buteno). Las materias primas de metano mixtas, tal como el gas natural, pueden dar lugar a un aumento de la oligomerización de hidrocarburos bromados múltiples (por ejemplo, bromuro de etilo, dibromometano, dibromuro de metilo, bromuro de propilo, dibromuro de propilo, etc.), De hecho, en una realización de la invención, se puede introducir otro bromuro de alquilo para crear los productos ramificados deseados. Un ejemplo sería la oligomerización de bromuro de metilo (a partir de metano) con bromuro de etilo o un bromuro de alquilo superior para producir, de forma selectiva, ramificación de metilo, etilo, propilo, isopropilo o butilo terciario (u otro). Otro ejemplo podría ser la síntesis de estireno a partir de bromuro etil, bromuro de metilo y dihalometano.
En una realización de la invención, la reacción de bromuro de metilo con zeolita dopada tiene lugar en un lecho fluidizado. De manera alternativa, se emplea un lecho fijo. Se pueden introducir diferentes bromuros de alquilo en diferentes puntos del reactor. Un ejemplo es la producción de bromuros de metilo en un punto del reactor para producir benceno, sobre los cuales se añaden los bromuros de etilo, produciendo estireno o etil benceno. Otro ejemplo es la introducción de bromuros de metilo en un punto del reactor para producir benceno, sobre el cual se pueden añadir otros bromuros de alquilo, para producir alquile benceno lineal.
Se consigue la separación de productos por medio de cualquier procedimiento apropiado. Ejemplos no limitantes incluyen destilación, adsorción y extracción. Se puede recuperar producto(s) a partir del sólido mediante separación con vapor, dióxido de carbono u otros medios.
Los siguientes son ejemplos no limitantes que, de manera conjunta, ilustran la invención:
Ejemplo 1 (comparativo)
Se preparó un material compuesto MZ1 óxido de metal/zeolita como se muestra a continuación: se preparó una mezcla sólida de zeolita de tipo ZSM-5 (Zeolyst CBV 8014, proporción de Si/Al = 80:1, 10 g, 170 mmoles SiO2) y CaNO3 nonahidratado (9 g, = 34 mmoles de Ca) y se añadió agua hasta obtener humedad incipiente. Tras la disolución de CaNO3 y la agitación, se secó la suspensión y se calcinó en secuencia a 115 ºC (durante la noche) y a 500 ºC (durante la noche), respectivamente, al aire.
Ejemplo 2 (Comparativo)
Se borboteó metano a 0,10 MPa a través de bromo a 1 ºC con un caudal de 5 cm3/min. Se hizo pasar la corriente resultante de bromo y metano (1:10 en moles) a través de un reactor de bromación de diámetro pequeños a 450 ºC (1000 h-1) y se hizo pasar la mezcla de CH4-xBrx (x = 0, 1, 2, 3) al interior de un reactor que contenía 5 g de material compuesto de óxido de metal/zeolita MZ1 (400 C). La corriente de salida del segundo reactor no contenía productos bromados. En base al metano consumido en el reactor de bromación, se detectaron 10 % de etileno, 31 % de propileno, 3 % de propano y 21 % de butanos/butenos; 65 % en total. También se detectaron cantidades traza de especies C6. Trascurridas 5 horas de reacción durantes las cuales el rendimiento de la corriente no varió con respecto a la distribución descrita anteriormente, se interrumpió la corriente de metano y se purgó el reactor con helio a 5 cc/min durante 10 minutos. Tras la purga con He, se inició un flujo de O2 (2 cm3/min) en el interior del segundo reactor a 525 ºC para regenerar el óxido de metal a partir del bromuro de metal del material compuesto parcialmente gastado. Inicialmente, solo se observaron agua y CO2 como productos, pero de repente los contenidos de la corriente variaron hasta Br2 y O2 sin reaccionar. Tras 1 hora, se interrumpió la purga de O2 y se purgó de nuevo el reactor con helio. Se sometió a ensayo la trampa cáustica durante la regeneración de CO32- y se encontró 1,0 mmol, lo que representa 24 % del carbón convertido. Se encontró que el resto de carbono eran sustancias aromáticas volátiles de alto punto de ebullición (principalmente tolueno, xilenos y mesitilenos). Como se ha descrito anteriormente, se inició un segundo ciclo de condensación de bromoetanos a 400 ºC y se encontró que la distribución del producto resultó idéntica a la del primer análisis. Tres ciclos más de condensación/neutralización/regeneración produjeron el mismo rendimiento de hidrocarburos superiores.
Ejemplo 3 (Comparativo)
Se preparó mordenita dopada (Zeolyts CBV 21 A, dopada tanto con Ca como con Mg) (5g) de acuerdo con el Ejemplo 1, y se usó como catalo-reaccionante en la síntesis de hidrocarburos de manera sustancialmente similar a la descrita anteriormente en el Ejemplo 2. El rendimiento del producto fue de 30 % de etileno, 5 % de etano, 10 % de propileno, 3 % de propano, 5 % de butanos/butenos. Ensayos múltiples y la regeneración del catalo-reaccionante establecieron la reproducibilidad.
Ejemplo 4-15 (Comparativo)
Se dopó zeolita de tipo ZSM-5 (Zeolyst CBV 28014, que tenía una proporción de Si:Al de 280:1) de Zeolyst Corp. con calcio de acuerdo el procedimiento descrito en el Ejemplo 1, hasta una proporción de Ca:Si de 4:1. Se introdujeron 1,427 g de zeolita dopada con calcio, molida de forma basta, en un tubo de reacción de vidrio (6 pulgadas de longitud; 4 mm de diámetro interno), y se provocó el flujo de una corriente de bromuro de metilo (4,5 mmol) en el interior del flujo. Tras la conversión del bromuro de metilo, se regeneró el sólido por medio de tratamiento con O2 (2 sccm, 1 bar) a 520 ºC) durante 3 horas, y se recuperó el Br2 generado. Se llevó a cabo la reacción de acoplamiento de bromuro de metilo sobre un intervalo de presiones, temperaturas, y caudales usando el mismo sólido y la misma cantidad de bromuro de metilo por ensayo. Se analizaron los productos de cualquier bromuro de metilo que abandonaba el extremo opuesto del tubo de reacción por uno o más de GC, GC/MS y RMN. Debido a las proporciones de isótopos inequívocas y a los patrones de fragmentación, GC/MS resulta particularmente útil como diagnóstico del contenido de bromohidrocarburos (que típicamente es cero).
La Tabla 1 recoge las distribuciones de producto de hidrocarburo (también denominada como “selectividad” (sel), expresado como porcentaje), conversión en porcentaje de CH3Br y parámetros de reacción, T, P y τ (tiempo espacial), en la que se calculo τ de acuerdo con la ecuación: τ = volumen del reacción / caudal entrante. Las distribuciones de productos aromáticos están infra-puntuadas.

Como se observa en la Tabla 1, la zeolita dopada con metal alcalino-térreo facilitó la conversión de un alcano bromado (CH3Br) en un número de hidrocarburos diferentes, incluyendo alcanos lineales y ramificados, olefinas y compuestos aromáticos. También se produjo agua, como sub-producto de la neutralización de HBr. El análisis de GC de los productos mostró conversiones elevadas de bromuro de metal (con conversiones bajas que tienen lugar a bajas temperaturas y conversiones elevadas que tienen lugar a temperaturas elevadas) y las mediciones de pH mostraron la neutralización completa de HBr formado en la reacción.
En general, el porcentaje de C5 e hidrocarburos superiores producidos para un ensayo dado superó 70 % y el porcentaje de C6 e hidrocarburos superiores producidos superó 50 %. Los compuestos aromáticos detectados incluyen tolueno (C7), xilenos y etilbenceno (C8), mesitilenos y etilmetilbenceno (C9) e hidrocarburos superiores (por ejemplo, C10). En algunos ensayos, se detectó una pequeña cantidad de benceno.
Aunque sin quedar ligado a teoría alguna, parece que el acoplamiento carbono-carbono transcurre en dos etapas, de igual forma que se observa con las formaciones de hidrocarburos a partir del acoplamiento de metanol. En una primera etapa rápida, se forman las olefinas, se acoplan y posteriormente se rompen. Parece que esto viene seguido de de una segunda etapa más lenta que dar lugar productos aromáticos y parafinas tras una exposición más prolongada al catalizador y temperaturas elevadas.
Se ha observado que el catalo-reaccionante sólido preparado de nuevas no proporciona la distribución de producto en “estado estacionario” obtenida tras 1 ciclo (un número repetido de ciclos adicionales) de acoplamiento/fijación de bromo, seguido de reoxigenación de sólidos y liberación de bromo. Es decir, las distribuciones de producto “del primer ensayo” son disimilares de las distribuciones observadas cuando se usa catalo-reaccionante sólido reciclado.
Ejemplos 16-18
Para demostrar que se pueden reciclar los hidrocarburos más ligeros en el interior del reactor de acoplamiento, en primer lugar se utilizaron propileno (4,5 mmol) y posteriormente una mezcla de CH3Br y propileno (3:1 v/v ó 3,3 mmol:1,1 mmol) como alimentación en un tubo de reacción de vidrio configurado como se ha descrito en los Ejemplos 4-15. Se comparó la distribución de producto con la obtenida usando CH3Br (4,5 mmol) solo. La Tabla 2 presenta los resultados. Las distribuciones de producto aromático están infra-puntuadas.

La Tabla 2 muestra que es posible reciclar las olefinas ligeras menos deseables(desde el punto de partida de la producción de gasolina) en el interior de la corriente de alimentación para la incorporación en productos más pesados. El hecho de que la distribución de producto para la alimentación de propileno sea similar a la de MeBr y MeBr/propileno 1:1 (base C:C) muestra que el reciclaje de las olefinas ligeras mejora el rendimiento total de los productos de gasolina.

- REIVINDICACIONES
- 1.
- Un procedimiento para fabricar una pluralidad de hidrocarburos, que comprende
poner en contacto de bromuro de metilo y una zeolita dopada con un metal alcalino térreo, a una temperatura y una presión suficiente para dar lugar a una pluralidad de hidrocarburos, reciclar al menos una parte de los hidrocarburos C1 a C3 que se forman, y permitir que la al menos parte de los hidrocarburos C1 a C3 reciclados entre en contacto con la zeolita para formar uno o más hidrocarburos C4 o superiores. -

- El procedimiento definido en la reivindicación 1, en el que el metal alcalino térreo está seleccionado entre el grupo que consiste en calcio, magnesio y sus mezclas.

- El procedimiento definido en la reivindicación 1, en el que la zeolita presenta una proporción de Si:Al de aproximadamente 80:1 a 280:1, especialmente de aproximadamente 80:1 o de aproximadamente 280:1.

- El procedimiento definido en la reivindicación 1, en el que se forma bromuro de metilo por medio de bromación de metano, tal como que se usa Br2 para bromar metano.

- El procedimiento definido en la reivindicación 1, para producir una pluralidad de hidrocarburos, el 50 % de los cuales son hidrocarburos C6 o superiores, o para producir una pluralidad de hidrocarburos, el 70 % de los cuales son hidrocarburos C5 o superiores.

- El procedimiento definido en la reivindicación 1, para producir una pluralidad de hidrocarburos, el 50 % de los cuales son hidrocarburos C6 o superiores, al menos el 70 % de los cuales son hidrocarburos C5 o superiores.

- El procedimiento definido en la reivindicación 9, en el que
a) la temperatura es de 225 ºC a 350 ºC y la presión es de 1 a 5 bar, o b) la zeolita dopada es zeolita de tipo ZSM-5 dopada con calcio a una proporción de Ca:Si de 4:1.
