背景技术
已经开发了多种设备,使客户能够为以后播放而记录视频和/或音频节目。这种设备包括磁带录音机、盒式磁带录像机、可记录光盘,以及目前最常用的可记录的数字视盘(DVD)。也使用了硬盘驱动器和磁光盘。
仅可记录一次的DVD,本质上是一种DVD只读存储器,取其首字母缩写为DVD-R。取其首字母缩写的DVD-R一般也可以指只写一次,或只记录一次的技术。有几种格式可用于DVD的记录、擦除或再记录;即覆盖或重写。这些由首字母缩写DVD-RAM、DVD-RW和DVD+RW表示。目前为止还没有采用统一的工业标准。取其首字母缩写的DVD-RAM、DVD-RW和DVD+RW一般用于指各自的可重写技术。这里所指的可重写DVD技术、设备和方法总的来说是试图包含现在正在使用的以及将来可能开发出的所有标准。

根据一个实施例,本发明方案包括在该介质上记录一位流,该位流包括该第一视频数据段,并在邻接该节目变换的位置上,在由该第一位流定义的第一单元(cell)内自动插入一个第一子画面分组(pack)。如果该节目变换出现在该第一单元内,则第一子画面分组可以被有利地配置成用来使该子画面从透明状态变化到不透明状态然后返回到透明状态。此外,该方法包括步骤:在跟随该第一单元的第二单元的开始处插入至少一个第二子画面分组。在那种情况中,该第一子画面分组使一个第一子画面从透明状态变换到不透明状态,并且该第二子画面分组使一个第二子画面从不透明状态变换到透明状态。

根据另一个实施例,本发明方案可以包括一种用于在MPEG格式可记录介质装置播放器中提供渐变效果的系统。该系统包括:介质解码电路,用于提供包括第一视频数据段的视频表达的视频显示信号;处理装置,用于在该第一视频数据段的节目变换上,提供同时具有该视频表达的全屏子画面;以及控制处理器,用于控制该子画面的对比度以在透明状态和不透明装置之间改变而有选择地产生渐变效果。根据本发明的一个方面,响应开始记录、暂停记录或停止记录的一个用户命令来自动提供该全屏子画面。该节目变换可以位于该第一视频段的开始或结尾。此外,该节目变换可以是在该第一视频段和第二视频段之间的变换。

具体实施方式
可记录的DVD设备
这里所示范的根据本发明的方案的实现各种高级操作功能的设备100使用图1方框图所述的根据本发明方案的可重写盘介质102。可重写盘介质102用作所示实施例中的可重写DVD。在随后说明的许多例子中,可重写盘介质还可以例如是硬盘或磁光盘(MOD)。MOD的一个例子是小型盘。在许多例子中,本发明的方案可以应用于视频或音频或者视频和音频。
设备100可以写入盘介质和从盘介质读出,在本例中,盘介质为可重写DVD102。该设备包括机械组件104、控制部分120、视频/音频输入处理路径140和视频/音频输出处理路径170。到不同部分或路径的大多数方框的配置是不言而喻的,因为这些方框的配置是为了方便的目的,并不是理解设备操作的关键。
机械组件104包括用于旋转DVD102的马达106以及适宜在旋转的盘上移动的拾取组件108。拾取组件上的激光在盘上的螺旋轨道上烧出光斑(spot)或照射已经在轨道上烧成的光斑,以记录和回放视频和/或音频节目资料。为理解本发明的目的,本发明与该盘是单面或双面可记录,或者在双面记录的情况中,是否是从该盘的相同面或从两面进行双面记录或随后的读盘是不相关的。拾取器和马达由伺服系统110控制。伺服系统110还接收作为第一输入的来自盘102的螺旋轨道读出的数据的播放信号。该播放信号还输入到纠错电路130,纠错电路130可以认为是控制部分的部分或视频/音频输出处理路径的部分。
控制部分120包括控制中央处理单元(CPU)122以及导航数据生成电路126。控制CPU122提供第一输入信号给导航数据生成电路126,伺服系统110提供第二输入信号给导航数据生成电路126。伺服系统也可以认为是控制部分的部分。导航数据生成电路126提供第一输入信号给多路复用器(MUX)154,MUX154形成视频/音频输入处理路径140的部分。
在传统的可记录DVD设备中,导航数据生成电路126将产生和视频数据一起存储在盘上的传统的导航分组数据。根据本发明的方案,导航数据生成电路能够提供包含在导航分组中的某个附加信息。该附加信息可用于改进所选择的特技模式播放操作的性能,特技模式播放操作将在下文详细说明。
MUX154的输出是纠错编码电路128的输入。纠错编码电路128的输出是提供给拾取器108的可记录输入信号,使用激光将可记录输入信号“烧”在盘102的螺旋轨道上。
控制CPU122最好还访问图1所示的轨道缓冲器172和记录缓冲器152中包含的数据。CPU122可以删除、修改和重新格式化轨道缓冲器172和记录缓冲器152中存储的视频数据。控制和数据接口最好提供允许CPU122控制分组视频编码器144和音频编码器148的操作。为了由控制CPU122执行的常规操作,在存储器中提供了合适的软件或固件。此外,根据下文将更详细描述的本发明,提供高级功能134的程序例程以控制CPU122。
用于观看者可激活功能(activatable function)的控制缓冲器132指示那些目前可得的功能,即播放、记录、反转、快进、慢放、暂停/播放以及停止。暂停功能是作为与VCR的暂停操作相对应的功能,例如手工中断预记录节目的回放或中断观看的节目的记录以去除记录中的商业广告。提供分离的缓冲器136以接收用于实现这里所述的本发明的方案的命令。
视频/音频输入处理路径140是一种信号处理电路,用于将的常规的电视信号,例如NTSC或PAL,转换成数字化分组数据,例如MPEG-1或MPEG-2,以用于设备100的数字记录。输入路径140包括NTSC解码器142和用于视频输入的例如MPEG-1或MPEG-2的视频编码器144,并包括音频模拟-数字转换器(A/D)146以及用于例如MPEG-1或MPEG-2的音频编码器148。数字化信号在多路复用器150中被合并并被存储在记录缓冲器152中,直到整个分组建立为止。由于建立了音频和视频数据分组的组,所以在MUX154中它们与在导航数据生成块126生成的合适的导航分组合并。接着该分组被发送到纠错编码电路128中。纠错编码电路128也可以认为是输入路径140的部分。
实际上,DVD的螺旋轨道上的最小可寻址单元是16个扇区的ECC(纠错码)块,其中每一个扇区包括2048字节的用户数据。一组是例如12的ECC块数。各块的每一组表示大约0.5秒的合成的视频和音频节目材料。这里定义需要记录ECC块的组的沿螺旋轨道的线性空间量,例如192个扇区,作为该螺旋轨道的段。因此,显然记录缓冲器需要仅大到足以存储一段数据即可。一段数据可以对应于例如大约0.5秒的音频和视频节目材料。
输出处理路径170包括纠错块130和轨道缓冲器或输出缓冲器172,其中从盘中读出的数据被组装成用于进一步处理的分组。这些分组通过解多路复用器176由控制分组传播的条件访问电路174来处理,并到达用于视频和音频处理的各个路径。因此,还可能出现轨道缓冲器172仅需足够存储一段数据,对应于大约0.5秒的音频和视频节目材料的存储容量。
视频被解码器178解码,例如解码MPEG-1或MPEG-2视频,并作为例如NTSC或PAL的常规电视信号被编码。音频被电路182解码,例如解码MPEG-1或MPEG-2音频,并由音频数字-模拟(D/A)转换器184转换成模拟形式。可以提供PCI缓冲器190和PCI解码器192用于解码盘上包含的在导航分组中的表达控制信息。输出处理路径170可认为包括纠错电路130,如图所示。
提供DSI缓冲器186用于接收在导航分组中包含的盘搜索信息(DSI)。DSI解码器用于解码包含在导航分组中的DSI信息,导航分组将在下文详细描述。
显然,本发明可以以硬件、软件或硬件软件组合来实现。根据本发明的机器可读存储器可以在例如控制CPU122的一个计算机系统中以集中形式实现,或在不同组件分跨在几个互连的计算机系统中的分布形式实现。任何种类的计算机系统和适于实现这里描述的方法的其它装置都是可用的。
特别地,尽管这里所描述的本发明使用图1的控制CPU122,但是硬件和软件的典型组合可能是使用计算机程序的通用计算机系统,当程序被加载和执行时,控制该计算机系统和与图1的控制部分类似的DVD记录系统,从而实现这里所描述的方法。本发明还能够嵌入在包括能够实现这里描述的方法的所有功能的计算机程序产品中,该计算机程序产品在载入计算机系统中时能够执行这些方法。
在上下文中所述的计算机程序可以指以任何语言、代码或符号的任何表示,包括一组指令,试图使具有信息处理能力的系统直接地执行特定的功能,或者在下列二者之后,或者在下列二者之一之后执行特定的功能:(a)转换成另一种语言、代码或符号;和(b)以不同材料形式再现。这里披露的本发明可以是嵌入在计算机程序中的方法,该计算机程序可以由程序员使用市场可得的、用于操作与上述控制CPU122兼容的系统的开发工具来实现。
DVD介质
为说明本发明方案的目的,节目材料可以记录在可重写DVD上,并从可重写DVD中回放。如图2所示的可重写DVD10适于用作设备100中的盘102。盘10由扁圆塑料碟形组件12形成。可重写DVD可以由通过粘合层相互粘在一起的两个基片组成,形成1.2mm厚的盘。中心孔14可以在盘中形成,使得图1的马达106的夹紧装置能够可靠地夹紧盘并根据本发明的方案控制盘的角度移动。
轨道上记录方向,从螺旋较小的半径部分到螺旋的较大的半径部分,典型地是沿螺旋轨道16向外。几个由三个圆点(---)组成的符号表示图中未示出的轨道部分。结果,螺旋轨道的开始部分认为是接近孔14,并由方块18表示。螺旋的结尾认为是接近边沿,由菱形20表示。本领域普通技术人员通常接受所示的螺旋开始和结束的定义。根据本发明的方案的某些高级功能使用反向的记录,即从螺旋的较大的半径部分到螺旋的较小的半径部分。轨道还可以具有图中未示出的端到端摇摆(side-to-side wobble)以适应介质类型检索(index)。由于比例所限,仅示出轨道16的部分,并且这些是以极大地放大的比例显示。
每一个接近圆圈的螺旋的径向同心部分有时称为轨道,但是这个术语通常不是作为具有特定含义来接受的。例如在CD-ROM中,术语轨道用于指包含单首音频歌曲的螺旋轨道部分,或其它部分,并且对于DVD来说,该术语可能或不可能变得通用。
在此相对于可记录DVD介质已经描述了本发明的方案。但是,本领域的普通技术人员将理解,本发明不限于此。而且这里所描述的对用于改进的特技模式的DVD导航信息的改进也可以用于任何类型的盘介质,包括但不限于DVD-R类型介质。
DVD数据结构
如图3所示,每一个DVD包括视频管理器26和视频标题集(VTS)28。VTS包括视频标题设置信息(VTSI)27、菜单的可选视频对象集29、其包含实际标题内容的用于标题30的一个或多个VOBS以及VTSI备份31。每一个VOBS30包括多个视频对象32。每一个视频对象32包括多个单元(cell)34。每一个VOBS包括至各单元的指针的集合。这样,VOBS数据将各单元链接在一起,并指示以何种顺序播放节目或各单元。可以对在特定VOBS中的单元做标记,以便以任何期望的顺序播放。例如,可以顺序或随机播放它们。
每一单元包括多个VOBU36。在每一个VOBU36中驻留了典型地包含显示表达材料的0.4至1.0秒的视频内容。每一个VOBU36是以记录顺序的数据分组序列。每一个VOBU准确地以一个导航分组(NV_PCK)38开始,并能够包括以下所有的分组类型,包括视频分组(V_PCK)39、音频分组(A_PCK)40和子画面分组(SP_PCK)42。每一个VOBU正常由一个画面组(GOP)组成。
子画面是用在DVD视频中的图形位图覆盖图(graphic bitmapoverlay),用于产生字幕、卡拉OK歌词、菜单高亮效果等。在一个VOBU中可以包括一个或多个子画面分组(SP_PCK)42。
用于DVD记录器的渐变和混合功能
DVD渐变和混合是诸如DVD-RW、DVD-RAM、DVD+RW等的可记录DVD的优良功能。混合和渐变功能使客户能够制作高质量的家庭视频。视频渐变可以通过在DVD位流中插入子画面或插入渐变标记来执行。前一个使用交替的DVD位流的技术将在目前的DVD播放器中使用。后一个使用渐变标记的技术将不在目前的DVD播放器中使用。这里描述的本发明的方案包括使用这些技术中的每一个技术的用于渐变操作的方法。
子画面可用来产生渐现和渐隐的视频或静止画面的外观。全屏子画面覆盖在视频上,当子画面渐现时,视频渐隐,并且当子画面渐隐时,该视频渐现。这种方法可用于视频位流完全渐隐并接着另一个视频位流开始渐现的情况。这两个视频不重叠。
在盘上记录子画面
根据一个实施例,渐变序列可以直接存储在盘上。如果使用这种方法,需要为至少两个子画面单元提供额外的空间。提供一个子画面单元用于渐现,另一个用于渐隐。如果渐变效果存储在盘上,则有利于随后在任何具有渐变效果的DVD播放器上能够播放该盘。例如,DVD记录器可以记录接近单元结束处的渐现的子画面和在单元开始处的渐隐子画面。通过仅修改子画面而不改变表达主画面的视频位流,能够容易地增加或删除渐变。通过改变对比度,子画面覆盖层可以从透明(transparent)变成固态(solid)。
子画面被编码成图4所示的子画面单元(SPU)。如上文参照图3所述的,SPU包含在子画面分组(SP_PCK)42中。SPU标题44定义了SPU的尺寸和子画面(SP)显示控制序列表48的开始地址。行程长度编码数据(或像素数据)46一般具有两个字段:顶字段和底字段。SP显示控制序列表48定义:显示区域;显示时间;对比度或透明度;以及颜色。对本领域技术人员来说,显示控制命令的序列可以用于导致子画面渐变是众所周知的。
根据本发明的方案,全屏子画面可以覆盖在主画面上。因此,如果子画面的对比度从透明变化到固态(不透明),则主画面从完全可见变成完全不可见。在图6所示的记录过程中在该盘上可以添加用于显示上述过程的适当的子画面分组。例如每当按压暂停、记录或停止按纽时,记录过程可以添加子画面渐变块。这有利于将子画面块放置在记录的段中以帮助以后的编辑。
在单元34之间的渐变可以通过将包括子画面单元(SPU)的适当的子画面分组42添加到如图6所示的单元号n和单元号n+1来完成。正如在那里所示的,添加SPU#i和SPU#j用于渐变。可以响应适当的用户命令来添加这些SPU,用户命令可以通过高级功能缓冲器136来输入。此外,每当用户通过功能缓冲器132来选择暂停、停止或记录命令时,可以自动添加这些SPU。如图7所示,在一单元内的渐变仅需要一个已经配置的SPU,从而使它在图7所示的前一半中渐现然后在后一半中渐隐。根据一优选实施例,渐现和渐隐所需的时间量可以由缺省设置确定,或者由用户选择确定。如果渐变出现在包括多于一个扇区的时段上,则用于渐变的SPU可以在几个视频对象单元上扩展。
DVD设备渐变
在盘上记录子画面分组适合于某些类型的编辑,但也带来了一定的缺点。在已经对盘进行记录之后再添加这样的数据可能是困难的,因为可能没有空间可用于插入新的子画面分组。根据本发明的另一个实施例,不是将子画面添加在该盘上,而是通过在播放时插入渐变的子画面,能够指定DVD播放器实现渐变功能。渐现子画面和渐隐子画面可以分别插入在在第一视频位流的结束和在第二视频位流开始之前的几秒时间内。
渐现标记和渐隐标记可以用于指示特定单元是否需要渐现或渐隐。渐变开始时间和结束时间可以在导航数据中指示,使得当播放时,播放器可以在某位置上合适地插入子画面单元。实现渐变的DVD装置的优点是它不需要在已经记录在盘上的现存数据上添加子画面分组就能够从表达中添加或删除渐变。
通过使用导航分组中的渐变标记,DVD播放器可以实现上述处理。导航分组的系统标题中的两个保留位可用如图8所示的渐变标志。第6位和第5位的值在下表中示出。

还可以在播放时通过改变将被显示的解码的画面的亮度来实现渐变。渐变开始时间和结束时间可以如上所述在导航数据中指示,使得当播放时播放器能够在某些位置上合适地调整画面亮度。
尽管实现渐变的DVD装置具有一定的优点,但它确实具有一个缺点。特别是,这种方法不能用在没有配置以所述方式描述的渐变功能的现存的DVD播放器上。
Claims (22)
1.一种用于在MPEG格式可记录介质装置播放器中提供渐变效果的方法,包括:
提供用于包括第一视频数据段的视频表达的视频显示信号;
在所述第一视频数据段的节目变换上,提供同时具有所述视频表达的全屏子画面;以及
控制所述子画面的对比度以在透明状态和不透明装置之间改变来有选择地产生渐变效果。
2.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中响应用户的开始记录、暂停记录和停止记录的至少一个命令来自动提供所述全屏子画面。
3.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述节目变换是位于所述第一视频段的开始和结尾的至少一个上。
4.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述节目变换是在所述第一视频段和第二视频段之间的变换。
5.如权利要求1所述的方法,还包括在所述介质上记录一位流,该位流包括所述第一视频数据段,并在邻接所述节目变换的位置上,在由所述第一位流定义的第一单元内自动插入至少一个第一子画面分组。
6.如权利要求5所述的方法,其中所述节目变换出现在所述第一单元内,并且所述第一子画面分组被配置成用来使所述子画面从透明状态变化到不透明状态然后返回到透明状态。
7.如权利要求5所述的方法,还包括在跟随所述第一单元的第二单元的开始处插入至少一个第二子画面分组,所述第一子画面分组使一个第一子画面从透明状态变换到不透明状态,并且所述第二子画面分组使一个第二子画面从不透明状态变换到透明状态。
8.如权利要求1所述的方法,还包括在所述介质上记录一位流,该位流包括所述第一视频数据段,并且连邻接在所述节目变换的位置上,在由所述位流定义的一个第一单元内插入一渐变标志。
9.如权利要求8所述的方法,其中所述渐变标志插入在所述第一单元内的导航分组中。
10.如权利要求9所述的方法,其中所述导航分组以分组标题开始,并且所述渐变标志包含在跟随所述分组标题后的所述导航分组的系统标题中。
11.如权利要求9所述的方法,其中在所述导航分组内编码渐隐时间和渐现时间的至少一个时间。
12.一种用于在MPEG格式可记录介质装置播放器中提供渐变效果的系统,包括:
介质解码装置,用于提供包括第一视频数据段的视频表达的视频显示信号;
提供装置,用于在所述第一视频数据段的节目变换上,提供同时具有所述视频表达的全屏子画面;以及
控制装置,用于控制所述子画面的对比度以在透明状态和不透明装置之间改变来有选择地产生渐变效果。
13.如权利要求12所述的系统,其中响应用户的开始记录、暂停记录和停止记录的至少一个命令来自动提供所述全屏子画面。
14.如权利要求12所述的系统,其中所述节目变换是位于所述第一视频段的开始和结尾的至少一个上。
15.如权利要求12所述的系统,其中所述节目变换是在所述第一视频段和第二视频段之间的变换。
16.如权利要求12所述的系统,还包括记录装置,用于在所述介质上记录一位流,该位流包括所述第一视频数据段,并在邻接所述节目变换的位置上,在由所述第一位流定义的第一单元内自动插入至少一个第一子画面分组。
17.如权利要求16所述的系统,其中所述节目变换出现在所述第一单元内,并且所述第一子画面分组被配置成用来使所述子画面从透明状态变化到不透明状态然后返回到透明状态。
18.如权利要求16所述的系统,还包括编码装置,用于在跟随所述第一单元的第二单元的开始处插入至少一个第二子画面分组,所述第一子画面分组使一个第一子画面从透明状态变换到不透明状态,并且所述第二子画面分组使一个第二子画面从不透明状态变换到透明状态。
19.如权利要求12所述的系统,还包括记录装置,用于在所述介质上记录一位流,该位流包括所述第一视频数据段;以及处理装置,用于在所述节目变换的连接位置上,在由所述位流定义的一个第一单元内插入一渐变标志。
20.如权利要求19所述的系统,其中所述渐变标志插入在所述第一单元内的导航分组中。
21.如权利要求20所述的系统,其中所述导航分组以分组标题开始,并且所述渐变标志包含在跟随所述分组标题后的所述导航分组的系统标题中。
22.如权利要求20所述的系统,其中在所述导航分组内编码渐隐时间和渐现时间的至少一个时间。
