Description
これを解消するために、従来、水道水を用いて次亜塩素酸(活性酸素種)を発生させ、この次亜塩素酸を水道水中に与えることにより、加湿エレメントに雑菌の繁殖を防止する加湿器及び加湿器付きの空気調和装置が提案されている(例えば、特許文献1参照)。
そこで、本発明の目的は、上述した従来の技術が有する課題を解消し、加湿器を使用しない時季にあっても、加湿器内への雑菌の繁殖を抑制できる除菌装置及びこの除菌装置を備える空気調和装置を提供することにある。
図1において、符号1は、空気調和機本体を示し、この空気調和機本体1は、天井から吊り下げられた吊りボルトに引っ掛けられて室内天井板の下面に設置、固定されている。
熱交換器7は、フィンチューブ型の熱交換器である。この熱交換器7には冷媒配管(図示せず)が接続され、この冷媒配管は、空気調和機本体1の外に導出され、室外機(図示せず)の圧縮機、減圧装置、室外熱交換器等に接続されている。これら熱交換器7及び加湿器5の下方には、発泡スチロール製のドレンパン13が設置され、このドレンパン13のドレン溜まり13aには、ドレンポンプ15が配設され、ドレンポンプ15の排水口にはドレン水を空気調和装置本体1の外に排出するドレンホース17が接続されている。
ここで、活性酸素種とは、通常の酸素よりも高い酸化活性を持つ酸素分子と、その関連物質のことであり、スーパーオキシドアニオン、一重項酸素、ヒドロキシルラジカル、或いは過酸化水素といった、いわゆる狭義の活性酸素に、オゾン、次ハロゲン酸等といった、いわゆる広義の活性酸素を含めたものとする。
上記電極32,33により水道水に通電すると、カソード電極では、
4H++4e-+(4OH-)→2H2+(4OH-)
の反応が起こり、アノード電極では、
2H2O→4H++O2+4e-
の反応が起こると同時に、水に含まれる塩素イオン(水道水に予め添加されているもの)が、
2Cl-→Cl2+2e-
のように反応し、さらにこのCl2は水と反応し、
Cl2+H2O→HClO+HCl
となる。
この構成では、電極32,33に通電することにより、殺菌力の大きいHClO(次亜塩素酸)が発生し、この次亜塩素酸を含んだ加湿用水、すなわち除菌作用を有する加湿用水(除菌用水)を加湿器5に供給することにより、この加湿器5の加湿エレメント5a及び当該加湿器5内で雑菌が繁殖することを防止できる。
本構成では、除菌時間の短縮化を図るために、加湿用水中の次亜塩素酸濃度を高くするように流量調整弁22の弁開度を調整しているが、通常の次亜塩素酸濃度(例えば、1mg/l)であっても、除菌時間を確保可能であれば、十分に加湿器5の除菌を行なうことができる。
続いて、制御装置10は、上記第2の所定時間T2が経過すると、上記開閉弁43を開いて、加湿器5内の加湿用水を排出し(ステップS6)、処理を終了する。
このとき、アノード電極では、
2H2O→4H++O2+4e-
の反応と同時に、
3H2O→O3+6H++6e-
2H2O→O3+4H++4e-
の反応が起こりオゾン(O3)が生成される。またカソード電極では、
4H++4e-+(4OH-)→2H2+(4OH-)
O2 -+e-+2H+→H2O2
のように、電極反応によりO2 -が生成したO2 -と溶液中のH+とが結合して、過酸化水素(H2O2)が生成される。

Claims (6)
- 送風ファンと、この送風ファンの運転により導入された空気を加湿する加湿手段と、この加湿手段に加湿用水を供給する加湿用水供給路とを備えるとともに、この加湿用水供給路は、水道水を電気分解して活性酸素種を含む除菌用水を生成する少なくとも一対の電極を備え、
前記加湿手段への前記加湿用水の供給が停止される時季であって、前記送風ファンの運転を停止した場合に、前記電極への通電により生成した除菌用水を前記加湿手段に供給し、この加湿手段に当該除菌用水を一時的に保持する保持手段を備え、当該加湿手段内への雑菌の繁殖を抑制したことを特徴とする除菌装置。 - 前記保持手段は、前記加湿手段の排水口に配置された開閉弁を備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の除菌装置。
- 前記活性酸素種は、次亜塩素酸、オゾン、または、過酸化水素のうち少なくともいずれかの物質を含むことを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の除菌装置。
- 定期的、或いは、所定の条件下で不定期に前記電極の極性を反転させることを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれかに記載の除菌装置。
- 送風ファンと、この送風ファンの吹出口側に配置された熱交換器と、この熱交換器を介して導入された空気を加湿する加湿手段と、この加湿手段に加湿用水を供給する加湿用水供給路とを備えるとともに、この加湿用水供給路は、水道水を電気分解して、活性酸素種を含む除菌用水を生成する少なくとも一対の電極を備え、
前記加湿手段への前記加湿用水の供給が停止される時季であって、前記送風ファンの運転を停止した場合に、前記電極への通電により生成した除菌用水を前記加湿手段に供給し、この加湿手段に当該除菌用水を一時的に保持する保持手段を備え、当該加湿手段内への雑菌の繁殖を抑制したことを特徴とする空気調和装置。 - 空調動作の停止期間中に、前記加湿手段に前記除菌用水の供給を所定時間ごとに行なうことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の空気調和装置。
