Definitions
- the invention relates to a multi-purpose handheld device, in particular for Office work, according to the preamble of claim 1.
- This multi-purpose handheld device is designed like a pocket knife, i.e. that the device should be small, compact and pocket-sized and none when not in use Tips or cutting edges are exposed, which can lead to injuries.
- Pocket knives are often equipped with a variety of tools, and not just with large and small knife blades, but also with Files, screwdrivers, saws, etc. Most of the time, the tools are on one Body articulated and overcoming a spring preload in it Use position folded out. Small tools are also occasional completely removable from the body.
- Some types of tools are on or in a pocket knife only can be accommodated if there are compromises in terms of functionality To be received. For example, you can find pocket knives with foldable scissors, but then only one for most purposes too has a weak construction and is too small for many applications.
- a multi-purpose hand-held device of the type mentioned at the outset is known from US-A-4,783 867 known that a stapler, a pair of scissors, a knife, a scale, a Includes staple remover and a cutter. These are individual tools each fold out or slide out of a housing. This leads to Stapler that this is very small in a handy version of the device must be, so that it is only correspondingly small and small brackets in can accommodate a relatively small number, so that only correspondingly thin Stacks of paper can be stapled and the staples must be changed frequently. The stapler of this device is therefore insufficient for actual office work.
- the two blades are each with one Housing part connected, the two housing parts in the plane of the closing and opening movement of the two blades can be moved against each other to operate the scissors. Again, this is only a makeshift since that For longer cuts, push the scissors into the clippings opposes. A hole punch is completely missing.
- the multi-purpose handheld device known from US-A-4,794,692 is similar to that discussed above, with the blades in the median plane is arranged between the two housing parts pivotable relative to one another, with both a punch and a stapler missing.
- the object of the invention is a multi-purpose handheld device according to the Preamble of claim 1 to create the housing of tools allowed, which so far only poorly or not at all in pocket knife form were realizable.
- tools is in the broadest sense too understand and should include all conceivable devices or utensils that as Aids can be used at work and in leisure.
- two such components are provided here, which also makes it possible To accommodate functional parts where two part tools are relative are to be moved towards each other, e.g. a punch or a stapler.

- the path of the magazine spring could also be arranged in the first component Limit can be limited. This could cause a magazine stop to limit the external position of the clip magazine and the swiveling apart of the first component and the clip magazine for insertion a staple could work without inactivating the magazine stop respectively.
- the stop which is the opening path the components are limited, can be deactivated.
- the opening path of the clip magazine is limited by a stop on the second component and the first component can be moved beyond this stop.
- the spring force could preferably move the components from the first to the second position via the clip magazine are transferred from the second component to the first component.
- the stapler is said to be inactivated can be. This is particularly necessary if more Utensils such as scissors or a punch in the handheld device are integrated, which are also due to the relative movements of the Components between the first and the second position are actuated. It should be ensured that the stapler when using Scissors or punches and of course when locking the components remains inactive among themselves. It is also an advantage if the additional high spring force of the magazine spring only when using the stapler is effective because otherwise it will also be used when using punches or scissors as well as when locking the components together got to. Depending on the type of inactivation mechanism, the overall height can also vary of the first component is significantly reduced and the device significantly be built more compact.
- the inactivation of the stapler is several Species possible.
- the Activation or deactivation of the stapler preferably on the Outside of the components arranged actuator take place.
- a advantageous arrangement results from the arrangement of the actuator in the end region of the first component opposite the joint near the stitching head.
- the actuator is advantageous designed as a pressure, slide or rocker switch, being on it care must be taken that the force vector is directed in this way when it is actuated is that this does not result in a closing movement of the opened device.
- the stapler is preferably activated for only one Single position.
- a magazine closure which is the staple magazine with the clamp driver retracted against the force of the magazine spring holds and locks in the first component.
- the locking takes place advantageously automatically after each individual use of the Stapler, and to activate the stapler, the magazine lock is manual solved. This will force the clip magazine Magazine spring moved from the first component to the magazine stop and pulling the staple driver out of the staple magazine that the staple rod can move up against the staple stop.
- the extension movement of the clip magazine could be done by a damping element be braked. Locked after single stapling the clip magazine is automatically in the first component.
- the inactivation the magazine is locked preferably via a stapler button, which on an outer surface of the component, for example on the the end face closest to the stitching head.
- the magazine closure is biased by a spring and locks the clip magazine automatically after everyone Single-stapling. Only the deactivation of the magazine lock is done manually using the staple button before each stitch.
- the stapler could also be inactivated by that the operative connection between the staple driver and staple rod directly is interrupted, for example by retracting the staple driver in the clip magazine is prevented by a locking device or the Bracket driver is movably arranged in the first component and for example by moving or folding away from an inactive to an active one Position can be adjusted, which also in addition to these Embodiments between "single stapling" and "continuous stapling” selected could be.
- the blocking element or the staple driver could also pass through a spring biased into or out of the active or inactive position each staple can be returned to this via a positive control and each only for a "single stitch", for example by means of a Stapler button, can be activated. In the sense of a kinematic reversal could of course also use the staple rod to inactivate the stapler the effective area of the stamp are moved to an inactive position.
- the whole could be used to inactivate the stapler Stapler unit with the staple magazine and the one from the staple magazine extended staple driver by means of an actuator first component moved in and to activate the stapler from this be extended.
- the stapler anvil and, if necessary, the base of the second component from the effective area of the stitching head be mobile so that those protruding from the first component Parts of the stapler unit into two when you close the machine Can move the component in without the stapler being activated becomes. It is obvious that these embodiments, however, become one Increase the overall height of the device.
- the clip magazine preferably has a U-shaped cross section and can be used as a one-piece stamped and bent part made of sheet metal be shaped.
- the open profile side is against the U-shaped profile in the front section of the clip magazine the top surface of the first component and in the rear, adjoining the joint Section, directed against the second component.
- the front one Part is intended as a receiving space for the staple while the rear section with a recess for example for one stamp guide arranged in the second component for a punch and with an activation device for the punch is provided. Because of this shortening of the receiving space for the staple becomes the loading slide preferably pressed against the clamp stop via a tension spring.
- a particularly compact design results when used a clock spring, which is stored in the loading slide and with its free End in the area of the clip stop is attached to the clip magazine.
