本公开涉及由电池供电的便携电子设备,更具体地涉及用于控制在这种设备的操作期间的电力衰减(fade)的方法。 
背景技术
使用可再充电电池的无线产品或设备在市场上是普遍的。可再充电电池可以用在从计算机到电动工具(power tool)的多种设备中。因为这些设备使用多个电池单元,所以各电池单元一般被打包在电池组(battery pack)中。该电池组又可以用于在设备耦接到其处时对设备供电。一旦耗尽,电池组可以通过电池充电器再充电。 
过去几年,锂离子(Li离子)电池已经开始替代这样的便携电子设备中的镍镉(NiCd)、镍-金属-氢化物(NiMH)和铅酸电池。与NiCd和NiHM电池相比,Li离子电池更轻但每单位体积具有更大的容量。由于此原因,Li离子电池适合于优选轻的并且要求经受长时间的连续使用的设备。但是,Li离子电池在经历过度充电、过度放电、过热或其他不利条件时可能迅速退化。因此,这些类型的设备采用保护手段来防止这样的不利条件。在检测到不利条件时,系统可以被设计为突然终止从电池的电流放电并由此停止设备操作。 
因此,期望开发在电流放电被终止之前延长设备的操作和/或警告操作者设备接近需要终止电流放电的条件的保护方案。此部分提供了不一定是现有技术的与本公开有关的背景信息。

实用新型内容
提供了用于操作具有由电池供电的马达的电动工具的装置。该装置包括:用于根据操作者输入将电力从电池输送到马达的部件;用于检测电动工具的条件的部件,其中所述条件指示电力的关闭的即将来临;以及用于响应于所 检测的条件、通过使用存在于所述电动工具中的控制器、使从电池输送到马达的电力衰减的部件。 
给出了一种电动工具系统,其在检测到指示接近电力关闭的电动工具的条件时使电池输送的电力衰减。该电动工具包括:具有马达的工具部件;电池组,其选择性地耦接到所述工具部件并工作以向马达提供电力;以及放电控制模块,其在从电池组向马达输送电力的同时监视指示工具操作的参数,并使从电池输送到马达的电力衰减被计算为参数值的函数的量。

具体实施方式
图1绘出由电动工具12和电池组14组成的电动工具部件的示例配置。电动工具部件可以由通过马达22驱动的工具设施(未示出)组成。马达22由放电控制模块20控制。放电控制模块20监视电动工具和电池组的各种条件,并因而控制对马达的电力输出。该示例配置仅被提供为描述以下给出的概念的场景。应理解,该配置可以仅表示内部电路的一部分,因此可以包括在此为了清楚而未示出的诸如保护电路的另外的功能性或组件。 
在该示例实施例中,电池组14经由电池接头或接线柱(未示出)可移除地耦接到电动工具12。电池组14包括三个电池单元32A、32B和32C,尽管可以构思更多或更少单元。为了描述示例实施例的目的,电池组14采用具有锂离子电池化学性的电池。应理解,例如,电池组14可以由诸如锂金属或锂聚合物的另一基于锂的化学性或者诸如镍镉(NiCd)、镍金属氢化物(NiMH)和铅酸的另一化学性的电池组成。另外,想象得到将电池组14耦接到工具12的其他手段,并且电池组14可以集成到电动工具12中。 
马达22由操作者经由开/关可变速度触发开关24控制,该开/关可变速度触发开关24在由用户使用时,闭合耦接到可变速度触发开关24的开关。可 变速度触发开关24可以由操作者使用各种压力按下,并且马达22的旋转速度对应于可变速度触发开关24行进的总距离。例如,当触发开关24被完全按下时,没有衰减条件(以下讨论)的情况下,马达22的旋转速度将是以全力的。随着触发开关24的行进总距离量降低,马达22的旋转速度也将降低。如将讨论的,这可以通过脉冲宽度调制对马达22的电力信号来实现。 
在优选反向操作的例如螺丝刀或钻孔机的电动工具中,电动工具12还包括2点双极双掷(DPDT)开关28,由此可以通过掷动DPDT开关28来反转电路的极性。如可认识到的,电动工具操作者可以手动推动在电动工具外部的按钮或开关以致使马达22反向工作。当操作者手动推动按钮或开关时,DPDT开关28被掷动并且马达22将按相反方向旋转。 
此外,电动工具部件可以包括LED(未示出)。当电动工具在工作中时可以点亮LED。LED可以耦接到放电控制模块20,使得当用户使用可变触发开关24时,为LED提供电力。 
在该示例实施例中,放电控制模块20位于电动工具12中。尽管不要求,但是该配置降低了电池组的成本,还允许不同工具使用相同类型的电池组。放电控制模块20控制被递送到马达22的电力,其驱动电动工具设施(未示出)。当操作者使用触发开关24时,放电控制模块20根据触发开关24的位置设置控制信号的占空比。更具体地,放电控制模块20将脉冲宽度调制后的控制信号提供给FET25,然后该FET25关闭电路,使得电力被递送到马达22。为了示例目的,下文中将该开关称为触发开关24,但是应理解,开关24可以是其他类型的开关。当存在截止(cutoff)条件时,例如当电池温度增加到温度截止阈值以上时,放电控制模块20终止对FET25的控制信号,由此打开电路并除去马达22的电力。尽管参考存在于工具中的放电控制模块提供以下描述,但是应理解,可以通过存在于电池组中的控制模块实现此公开的更宽方面。 
当操作者不使用触发开关24时,放电控制模块20可以通过例如关闭制动开关23由此使马达短路来关掉马达22。在一些实施例中,制动开关23机械地耦接到可变速度触发开关24,使得一旦该开关被打开,制动开关就关闭,这将马达22短路。 
放电控制模块20还监视电动工具12和电池组14的各种条件,以确定是否接近要求工具关闭的条件。在检测到这样的条件时,放电控制模块可以启 动从电池递送到马达的电力的衰减,下文中可以将其称为电力衰减。电力衰减是当输出到马达的总电力缓慢降低时,作为被监视的条件接近截止条件电力。当启动电力衰减时,递送到马达22的电力逐渐降低,以便延长电动工具的使用直到达到截止条件,或者完全避免截止条件。此外,随着工具操作者观察到电力缓慢降低,工具操作者将得知正接近截止条件。在操作时,放电控制模块20可以执行主控制循环,该主控制循环调用各种子程序以监视电动工具和电池组的各种条件。为了说明目的,下文中将其中正接近但还未达到工具关闭的条件称为衰减条件。 
例如,放电控制模块20可以监视电池组的电压。如图1所示,电池组14的电压可以由放电控制模块20在例如节点35处测量。该电压被放电控制模块20读取,使得可以监视电池单元的电压。如果该电压落在衰减电压阈值以下,例如10.5V,则放电控制模块20启动电力衰减,其细节在以下描述。一旦电池组达到截止电压例如10V,放电控制模块20通过断开FET25来切断对马达22的电力。此外,可以在节点34或36监视分支(split)电池电压。从节点34和36延伸的是从每个节点延伸的电池接头。电池接头是电线或者将节点34和36耦接到放电控制模块20的其他连接。 
为了监视电池组14的温度,使用温度传感器30。温度传感器的一个例子是热敏电阻,其是监视电路中的温度的成本有效且可靠的部件。但是,想象得到也可以使用其他类型的温度传感器,例如温度计或热电偶。温度传感器30降低电池组温度的读取提供给放电控制模块20。如以下将描述的,当电池组14的温度达到小于截止温度阈值的衰减温度阈值时,放电控制模块20启动电力衰减。使用第二温度传感器26来测量电动工具12的温度。类似于第一温度传感器,可以使用热敏电阻、温度计或热电偶来测量温度。 
尽管以上描述了电动工具12以及耦接到其的电池组14的一些实施例,但是想象得到可以在电动工具12和电池组14的设计方面实现其他配置。此外,将理解,以下讨论的本发明的各方面可以应用于各种平台并且不是只限于以上所述的配置。 
向马达递送电力的一种手段是提供对发送到FET25的电力信号或控制信号进行脉冲宽度调制(PWM)。脉冲宽度调制是向马达递送电力的变化量的电力手段。控制信号的占空比指示递送到马达的电压的平均值。因此,80%的占空比对应于80%的电压输出,这通过使电压开启达周期的80%并且关闭 达周期的20%而获得。这可以通过使FET闭合80%的时间并打开剩下20%的时间来实现。因此,通过控制PWM占空比的值,可以实现各种电压输出。 
如上所述,可变速度触发开关24行进的总距离可以影响马达22的旋转速度。通过将PWM占空比设置为基于马达22的期望旋转速度的值来控制马达22的旋转速度。例如,如果操作者将该触发按下最大距离,则PWM占空比将被初始设置为100%。随着施加到触发24的压力降低、由此表示存在着希望减慢马达22,PWM占空比也降低。 
此外,如果实现了衰减条件,则可以降低PWM占空比以在达到截止条件之前延长马达的使用。如以下将描述的,放电控制模块20将监视工具的各个组件,并且如果任何组件接近截止条件、即处于衰减条件,则放电控制模块20基于与衰减条件状态下的组件对应的值来计算PWM占空比。将认识到,控制马达22的PWM占空比被设置为等于与触发开关24对应的PWM占空比或者与衰减条件状态下的组件对应的PWM占空比中的较小者。 
在大多数情况下,将不实现衰减条件。在这些实例中,PWM占空比可以被设置为100%或者与触发开关24行进的距离对应的任何其他值。在其他情况下,将实现截止条件。在这些实例中,PWM占空比应该被设置为0%。在衰减条件还没有达到截止条件的情况下,PWM占空比可以被设置在最大PWM占空比、例如100%和最小PWM占空比、例如20%或0%之间。此外,想象得到,随着所监视的参数值接近截止条件,占空比可以缓慢降低,由此导致电力输出的电力衰减。如上所述,如果用户松开触发开关24,则触发开关24的位置可能导致比与衰减条件对应的占空比小的PWM占空比。 
图2A绘出对放电控制模块20的示例输入和输出。放电控制模块20从各个传感器或节点接收表示各种测量参数的信号。在此例子中,放电控制模块20从电池组温度传感器30接收电池组温度信号50、从与电池组相关的节点接收堆(stack)电压信号52、从工具部件温度传感器接收工具部件温度信号54、并从FET接收FET漏极电压56。这些测量的参数是示例性的并且不意图以任何方式限制。将认识到,可以由放电控制模块20监视其他测量的参数,比如马达速度、马达扭矩、工具旋转等。 
当工具开启时,放电控制模块20可以执行控制循环,以监视各个测量的参数,并将基于测量的参数确定电力信号56的PWM占空比。放电控制模块20测量的参数中的任何一个是否在针对所监视的条件的任何衰减条件阈值以 下,例如电池组温度是否太高。如果是,则可以基于监视的传感器值计算衰减PWM占空比。如果两个或更多测量的参数需要电力衰减,则可以将最低的所计算的衰减PWM占空比设置为实际PWM占空比。 
图2B示出当用户开启电动工具时在步骤60开始执行的主控制循环。该控制循环将继续执行,直到电动工具被关闭或者直到放电控制模块20工作在低功耗模式下,如下所述。在后一情况下,可以使用看门狗定时器将放电控制模块20返回到全功耗模式。在步骤62-68,通过控制循环启动各种方法或应用以监视各个测量的参数并基于测量的参数控制放电控制模块20的PWM占空比。提供以上用于主控制循环的示例,并且由控制循环调用的方法的数量仅提供用于示例。此外,尽管图2B绘出方法顺序地执行,但是想象得到该方法还可以并行或同时执行。 
图3绘出可以由放电控制模块20执行的示例方法。放电控制模块20接收表示各个测量的参数的值的信号,并确定具体参数值是否在相应衰减阈值以下。如果该具体参数值在相应衰减阈值以下,即电动工具处于衰减条件,则基于测量的参数计算PWM占空比。将所计算的PWM占空比与实际PWM占空比相比较以确定实际PWM占空比是否需要被设置为等于该PWM占空比。 
在步骤100,控制循环将调用子程序以确定是否应该进行电力衰减。在步骤110,放电控制模块20从电动工具或者电池组中的各个传感器或节点的任何一个接收表示各个测量的参数的信号。例如,放电控制模块20可以从监视电池组14的温度、FET25的温度之一的温度传感器接收信号以及从两个电池单元之间的节点读取的电压。想象得到,也可以监视电动工具或电池组的其他条件。 
在步骤112,将测量的参数与衰减阈值相比较。例如,从电池组读取的温度可以与电池组衰减温度阈值相比较。在此例子中,如果温度读取超过电池组衰减温度阈值,则达到衰减条件,并且方法前进到步骤114。如果未达到衰减条件,则方法回到控制循环。 
接下来,如果达到衰减条件,则在步骤114计算衰减PWM占空比。取决于衰减条件的类型,计算可以变化。以下提供与针对具体衰减条件计算的PWM占空比有关的例子。一个一般例子是将表示PWM占空比的线性方程计算为所监视的条件的函数。已知最大PWM占空比例如100%、最小PWM占 空比例如20%或0%、衰减条件与最大和最小PWM占空比以及测量的参数对应,衰减PWM占空比可以计算为如下:

其中FCStart是衰减条件的开始,即在测量的参数的何值时启动电力衰减,FCEnd是衰减条件的结束,并且MC是测量的参数值。想象得到,可以并入用于计算衰减PWM占空比的各种模型。尽管本公开讨论了计算基本线性地衰减的PWM占空比,但是也可以实现阶梯(step)模型、多项式模型或者指数衰减模型。一旦计算了PWM占空比,该方法就前进到步骤116。 
在步骤116,实际的PWM占空比、即电动工具当前正工作在的PWM占空比与所计算的衰减PWM占空比相比较。如果实际PWM占空比大于计算的衰减PWM占空比,则在步骤118,实际PWM占空比被设置为计算的PWM占空比。如果实际PWM占空比不大于计算的衰减PWM占空比,则子程序返回到控制循环。 
当衰减PWM占空比小于由触发位置确定的PWM占空比时不将实际PWM占空比更新为计算的衰减PWM占空比的决定是基于以下假设:PWM占空比可能已经被设置为在计算的衰减PWM占空比以下,因为另一测量的参数可能比在上述步骤中分析的传感器测量的参数更接近截止条件。例如,如果电池单元几乎完全耗尽并且实际的PWM占空比被设置为反映此条件,则刚刚超过衰减条件阈值的电池组温度不应该增加占空比。但是,在一些实施例中,实际的PWM占空比可以被设置为计算的衰减PWM占空比而不管两个值的比较如何。 
在一些实施例中,可以实现该方法使得当计算PWM占空比时,在达到截止条件时,PWM占空比被计算为0%。但是,在其他实施例中,测量的参数与预定截止条件相比较以确定是否已经实现截止条件。如果实现了截止条件,则该方法可以将PWM占空比设置为0%,并且该方法结束。 
如可以认识到的,在电动工具在使用中的同时,该方法可以连续执行。或者,该方法可以按预定时间间隔执行。而且,想象得到,可以进行该方法的其他变化。例如,在步骤112,如果不存在衰减条件,则实际的PWM占空比可以被设置为100%。如果先前实现了衰减条件,由此启动电力衰减,,但 是在重新计算PWM占空比之前解除衰减条件则该变化可以是有益的。 
以上概括地描述的方法可以用于监视电动工具的各个条件并保护工具或电池组不被损坏。在先前的工具中,实践是在工具工作在100%电力输出时允许各个条件变差,直到截止条件发生,这时工具被关闭并且不可操作直到修正截止条件。但是,使用上述的一般框架可以得到增加的电动工具的操作时间以及延长的工具和/或电池组寿命。 
在一些实施例中,可以监视电池组温度以确定电池组是否处于衰减条件。如果电池组温度已经达到或超过衰减条件阈值,则计算与电池组温度对应的PWM占空比。 
图4图示了可以由放电控制模块20执行监视电池组温度的方法的流程图。在步骤200,控制循环调用子程序以监视电池组温度。在步骤210,监视电池组的温度。如前所述,在一些实施例中,温度传感器可以是热敏电阻。在这些实施例中,放电控制模块20测量电池组热敏电阻输入处的电压。在电池组热敏电阻输入处测量的电压是电池组电压的一部分。根据先前收集的测试数据,热敏电阻在具体温度时的电阻是已知的。因此,通过监视热敏电阻输入处的电压以及电池组处的电压,可以计算电池组电压和热敏电阻输入电压的比率。将认识到,该比率对应于热敏电阻在具体温度时的电阻。因此,所计算的比率可以用于查询查找表,由此返回与该比率对应的温度,将认识到,该查找表可以存储在与放电控制模块20相关的非易失性存储器中。 
在步骤212,已知电池组的当前电压,该方法通过比较放电控制模块20在热敏电阻输入处的电压读取与对应于电池组衰减温度阈值的电压,将所确定的电池组温度与电池组衰减温度阈值相比较。应理解,在一些实施例中,所计算的比率、即电池组电压与热敏电阻输入电压的比率可以与对应于电池组衰减温度的预定比率相比较。如果该电池组温度在阈值以上,则该方法前进到步骤214。如果不是,则该方法回到步骤210。

在示例实施例中,当电池组温度在60℃时可以开始衰减条件,并且当该温度在65℃时可以结束。在此例子中,最大PWM占空比是100%并且最小PWM占空比是20%。因此,使用等式(2),如果电池组的当前温度近似是62℃,则衰减PWM占空比应该在近似68%。图5绘出了示出电池组温度和衰减PWM占空比之间的示例关系的曲线图。 
一旦计算了衰减PWM占空比,则在步骤216,将衰减PWM占空比与实际PWM占空比、即工具当前正工作在的占空比相比较。如果衰减PWM占空比小于实际PWM占空比,则在步骤218,将实际PWM占空比设置为衰减PWM占空比。这样做是因为电池组的温度正增加并接近截止温度。如果衰减PWM占空比大于实际PWM占空比,则该方法回到步骤210,并且实际PWM占空比不改变。这可以在电池组的温度由于衰减而开始下降时发生。但是,想象得到,在某些实施例中,可以实现反向衰减,由此实际PWM占空比总是被所计算的衰减PWM占空比所替代,使得随着温度降低,PWM占空比增加。

在本公开的另一方面,可以监视开关部件温度。将认识到,当电动工具用于延长的时段时,FET25或电动工具电路中的其他组件的温度可能增加到可能损坏那些组件的点。因此,可以监视电动工具的温度,并且一旦该温度达到需要电力衰减的值,就可以使电力信号的PWM占空比衰减。 
图6图示了可以由放电控制模块20执行来监视开关部件温度的方法的流程图。在一些实施例中,放电控制部件20监视图1所示的FET25的温度。温度传感器可以是与FET相邻地布置的热敏电阻26,由此放电控制模块20测量在第二热敏电阻输入处的电压。由于与电池组温度传感器相对,热敏电阻连接到恒压源。因此,与开关温度衰减阈值对应的电压可以是硬编码的(hard coded),因为与电力衰减的开始和电力衰减的结束对应的电压值将不随电池组电压的变化而变化。除了该说明以外,图6的步骤基本对应于图4的步骤。 
在步骤300,控制循环调用温度监视子程序。在步骤310,测量在第二热敏电阻26输入处的电压。在步骤312,将测量的电压与对应于开关温度衰减阈值的电压相比较。如果该电压小于与开关温度衰减阈值对应的电压,则基于开关温度计算PWM占空比,并且该方法来到314。如果该电压大于与开关温度衰减阈值对应的电压,则开关温度还没有经过衰减阈值,并且方法回到步骤300。

在示例性实施例中,当切换温度在95℃时衰减状态开始并且当温度在100℃时结束。在该实施例中,最大PWM占空比为100%并且最小PWM占空比为20%。从而,采用等式(3)-(5)或(6),如果电池组的当前温度大约为99℃,那么衰减PWM占空比应该为大约36%。图7描述了切换温度与衰减PWM占空比之间关系的曲线图。 
一旦计算了衰减PWM占空比,可将其与实际PWM占空比相比较,实际PWM占空比,即,工具当前运行所在的占空比。如果衰减PWM占空比小于实际PWM占空比,那么将实际占空比设置为衰减PWM占空比。这样做是因为切换的温度上升并且接近截止温度。如果衰减PWM占空比大于实际PWM占空比,那么方法返回至300并且保持实际PWM占空比不变。 
在一些实施例中,放电控制模块20确定是否电压读数低于截止状态。在这些实施例中,如果电压读数低于截止阈值,那么切断电力直至切换温度降低至截止阈值以下。设想该方法可连续运行或以如由放电控制模块20的控制环所确定的预定的时间间隔运行。进一步,认识到以上举例中提供的阈值仅用于举例并且不旨在为限制性的。此外,步骤的顺序不是强制的并且认识到可以不同的顺序执行步骤。此外,设想可执行替换步骤并且不是每个步骤都是必要的。 
在一些实施例中采用热敏电阻作为温度传感器30,热敏电阻位于触发开关的正(+)端。在现有技术中,电池组热敏电阻位于触发开关24的负(-)端。然而,如图1所示的配置,将热敏电阻放置于触发开关24的(-)端导 致电流泄漏。如图1中观测到的,触发开关24处于电力工具电路的(-)端。作为结果,如果将热敏电阻放置于触发开关24的(-)端,电流将从电池组,流经放电控制模块20以及流经热敏电阻,从而绕过可变速度触发开关24。因为触发开关24需要被使用使得电流流动,所以通过将热敏电阻放置于触发开关24的(+)端,可以避免电流泄漏。 
为了进一步防止泄漏,在一些实施例中采用阻挡二极管。如图1所示将阻挡二极管37放置于热敏电阻30与放电控制模块之间。也将阻挡二极管38以及39分别地放置于节点36以及34与放电控制模块20之间的电池分支。二极管为电路内帮助控制电流流动的装置,其帮助保持在电路内电源的隔离。阻挡二极管,以当前的配置,帮助确保电流不从放电控制模块20流回到电池。 
在本公开另一方面,放电控制模块20可监控电池组的电压。由于电池组被放电,当组电压达到预定的电压读数时,衰减控制模块20可初始化电力衰减。 
图8图示了由放电控制模块20执行以便监控电池组电压的方法的流程图。在步骤400,控制环调用电压监控子程序。如图1所示,从节点35读取电池组电压,节点35有时参照为分支(tap)。从而在步骤410,从节点35读取电压以便监控电池组电压。进一步认识到也可确定单个电池或电池组合的电压。例如,可读取在节点34的分离堆电压以便确定电池单元32C的电压。采用来自节点35与34的电压,也可确定电池单元32A与32B的电压。 
如步骤412将电池单元的电压读数与电压衰减阈值相比较。如果电压读数低于电压衰减阈值,那么方法进行至步骤414,那里基于电池单元电压计算PWM占空比。如果电压读数高于电压衰减阈值,那么电池仍然具有足够容量,并且不需要电力衰减。例如,电压衰减阈值可与最高电荷剩余的5%的电池容量对应。 
在步骤414计算衰减PWM占空比。可基于增益值以及偏移值计算衰减PWM占空比。增益值可由以下计算:

在示范性实施例中,当电池单元(battery cell)达到10.5V时衰减状态开始并且当电池单元为10V时结束。在该示例中,最大PWM占空比为100%并且最小PWM占空比为20%。从而,采用等式(7)-(9)或(10),如果电池组的当前电压大约为10.2V,那么衰减PWM占空比应该大于为52%。一旦计算了衰减PWM占空比,将占空比与实际PWM占空比相比较,实际PWM占空比即,工具当前运行所在的占空比。如果衰减PWM占空比小于实际PWM占空比,那么将实际PWM占空比设置为衰减PWM占空比。方法然后返回至410。 
图9描述了示范电池组容量与衰减PWM占空比之间关系的曲线图,其中组电压与电池组容量直接相关。设想该方法可连续运行或者以如由放电控制模块的控制环所确定的预定的时间间隔运行。此外,认识到以上举例中提供的阈值仅用于举例并且不旨在为限制性的。此外,步骤的顺序不是强制的并且认识到可以不同的顺序执行步骤。此外,设想可执行替换步骤并且不是每个步骤都是必要的。另外地,还可将方法应用于监控单独电池单元的电压。 
虽然我们已经讨论了衰减电压作为用于指示通过组温度、组电压、模块温度、工具旋转、马达扭矩等,预定的截止状态正在靠近的方法,还设想了例如LED指示(即,基于监控截止局限的近似以变化的频率闪烁LED)的能够实施的指示工具使用者的其它方法。另外地或可替换地,可通过在特定的时间开关变化PWM来进行马达‘脉冲’。这些只是用来向用户指示出现的情形的一些其它方法。 
在本公开其它方面,配置放电控制模块20以便防止在冷状态下启动的错误读取。如提及的,当电池组到达欠电压(under voltage)状态时,放电控制模块20可确定已经到达截止状态。这种情况下,将切断对于马达22的电力,从而防止电池组进入深度放电状态。然而,一种与可充电电池组相关联的问题是,在低温中,例如,10℃以下,可观测到有负载的增大的压降。在这些冷状态下,当工具操作者第一次打开电源时,高冲流将导致相对较大的压降。另外地,冷状态可导致电池组电路中的阻抗增加,进一步恶化压降。 
为了抵抗该问题,配置放电控制模块20以忽视预定时间段(例如300ms)的电压读取,此后参照为消隐时间段。消隐时间段为放电控制模块20允许马达在不监控测量参数以确定是否达到关闭条件的情况下运行的一段时间。在消隐时间段期间,放电控制模块20将偏压FET 25,从而允许电流流向马达22,而不确定是否存在欠电压状态。一旦过了消隐时间段,放电控制模块20将恢复各种输入信号的监控,以便确定是否存在欠电压状态,并且如果该确实存在该状态可切断马达。 
然而,具有预定消隐时间段的一个缺点是,根据温度,消隐时间段可能过短或过长。如果消隐时间段过短,在由冷状态的电压读取保持不利影响的同时消隐时间段可流逝。因此,可能过早地关闭工具虽然电池组实际上具有足够的电压来供给马达22。另一方面,如果消隐时间段过长并且电池组14实际上耗尽,那么即便电池组中的剩余电荷应该迫使工具关闭,电池组14可能允许放电。 
作为修补以上描述的情况的部件,一些实施例实施依据例如温度的影响电压读取的因素的可变消隐时间段。例如,如果电池组温度相对较低,那么消隐时间段相比当电池组温度相对较高时应该为期更长。因此,消隐时间段的时间段可依据电池组的温度。 
图10图示了用于在启动后监控电池组的示范性方法。在步骤1000操作者开启电力工具。在步骤1002,从温度传感器30读取电池组温度。 
一旦确定了电池组温度,放电控制模块20在步骤1004基于温度确定消隐时间段。可以以许多方式确定消隐时间段。例如,在与放电控制模块20相关联的存储器中可以有查询表。在查询表中,各个温度可具有用于设置消隐时间段的相应的消隐时间段或温度阈值。例如,图11示出了作为温度的函数的消隐时间段的曲线图。如图可见,一旦温度小于5℃,消隐时间段从300ms 增加值500ms。在可替换实施例中,可采用等式来确定消隐时间段。设想可采用线性等式、二阶或更高阶等式、对数等式、导数等式、或其它类型的等式来设置消隐时间段。 
一旦确定了消隐时间段,电力工具在没有放电控制模块20监控包括电池组状态的测量参数的情况下操作,直至过了消隐时间段。一旦完成了消隐时间段,放电控制模块20在步骤1008开始监控包括电池组电压的测量参数。可认识到确定消隐时间段的精确函数也可依据电池单元化学以及电池单元的制造商。 
图12图示了锂离子电池以不同电流负载放电的典型放电曲线。电池的放电应将出现在紧挨着电压陡峭下降之前。虽然可采用绝对电压截止(例如,2.5伏),但是在更高负载时截止可能过早出现。例如,标记为2600的曲线表示已20安的电流放电。该情况下,在到达2.5V的绝对电压截止之前的非常短的时间电流将放电。已知用于补偿对于电流提取电压截止值的策略。这些策略包括测量电流并且基于测量的电流改变电压截止阈值。用于测量电流的技术需要另外的电流测量以及限制电路。从而,期望实施电压截止计划而不需要直接测量电流。 
用于测量电流的技术是将电池其自身作为分路使用。这种技术中,周期性地(例如,每秒钟一次)中断电流。在从电池中放电电流以及中断电流提取的同时测量电池电压。在示例性实施例中,已知电池单元的阻抗处于每电池48毫欧级。该情况下,可由以下计算电流:

因为电池阻抗可随时间变换,可将电池阻抗存储于存储器中并周期性地更新。例如,可在电池充电的同时确定电池阻抗。由于充电器向电池输出已知电流,可利用电流开启以及电流关闭来测量电池电压。然后可使用该电压变化来确定并调整所存储的电池阻抗值。本公开预期用于确定和/或更新电池阻抗的其它技术。 
参照图13进一步描述了替换电压截止方案。在电池放电期间,周期性地中断从电池提取的电流一小段时间。这一小段时间应该为用户不感觉到或者否则检测到中断(例如,3-5毫秒)。在中断期间,对电池进行电压测量。可对单个电池,电池组的一部分或整个堆(stack)进行电压测量。然后将电压测量值与目标截止电压相比较。如果电压测量值在目标截止电压以上或在中断 期间上升超过目标截止电压,不认为电池为充分放电。在该情况下,中断时间停止并且从电池的电流提取恢复。另一方面,如果电压测量值低于目标截止,那么终止电池的放电。以这种方式,直接地测量电池的休眠电压并且可避免电流补偿。 
在该示范性实施例中,周期性地或当负载电压(即,当从电池提取电流时)的测量值下降至负载电压阈值(例如,对于锂离子电池2.7伏)以下时进行电压测量。当电池开始放电,在2610开始中断计时器以便达到周期性采样(例如,每秒钟一次)。本公开也预期用于达到周期采样率的其它技术。 
接下来,在电池放电的同时进行2612电池电压测量。电压测量可对单个电池、电池组的一部分或整个堆。任何情况下,将电压测量值与负载电压阈值相比较2614。如果电压测量值超过负载电压阈值在2616检测中断计时器过期。只要电压测量值超过负载电压阈值并且计时器还没有过期,重复该循环。 
一旦计时器过期,在2632中断从电池提取的电流并且在中断期间在2634进行第二电压测量。在示范性实施例中,从当中断电流直至由微控制器进行第二电压测量的时刻具有固有延时;该延时(优选地以2ms级)允许电压返回其休眠值。在另一种实施例中,对于控制模块可能有必要在进行第二电压测量之前执行延时。任何情况下,在2636依次将第二电压测量值与目标截止电压相比较。虽然其可以为与负载电压阈值相同,目标截止电压优选地为空载电压阈值(例如,对于锂离子电池2.7伏)。如果第二电压测量值不低于目标截止电压,那么当前中断结束并且可恢复电池放电。该情况下,在2630重置中断计时器。如果第二电压测量值低于目标截止,那么如在2640指示终止电池放电。

另一方面,如果第二电压测量值不低于目标截止,那么当前中断结束并且可恢复电池的放电。为了在负载电压低于其阈值的同时避免过多的电压测量,在2626初始化第二计时器(在此也参照为空计时器)。直至该第二计时器过期将不再次测量电池电压。一旦第二计时器过期,控制返回至步骤2612 并且重复处理。

用于根据操作者的输入将电力从电池输送到马达的部件;
用于检测电动工具的条件的部件,其中所述条件指示电力的关闭的即将来临;以及
用于响应于所检测的条件、通过使用存在于所述电动工具中的控制器、使从电池输送到马达的电力衰减的部件。
2.如权利要求1的电动工具,其特征是用于检测电动工具的条件的部件还包括使用电动工具的控制器监视该工具的参数的部件。

放电控制模块,其在从电池组向马达输送电力的同时监视指示工具操作的参数,并使从电池输送到马达的电力衰减被计算为参数值的函数的量。
11.如权利要求10的电动工具系统,其特征是所述放电控制模块通过按照参数值的函数降低输送的电力来使输送的电力衰减,其中该函数是线性、阶梯、指数或多项式的至少一个。

用于暂时中断电流以测量电池在空载条件下的电压的部件;
用于测量电池在空载条件下的电压的部件;
用于将空载的电压测量与电压截止阈值相比较的部件;以及
用于当空载的电压测量超过电压截止阈值时恢复从电池流出的电流的部件。
20.如权利要求19的电动工具,其特征是还包括用于当空载的电压测量小于电压截止阈值时终止电池的电流放电的部件。
