Abstract
Description
液晶表示素子の高精細化に伴い、液晶表示素子のコントラスト低下の抑制や残像現象の低減といった要求から、液晶配向膜においては、優れた液晶配向性や安定したプレチルト角の発現に加えて、高い電圧保持率、交流駆動により発生する残像の抑制、直流電圧を印加した際の少ない残留電荷、及び/又は直流電圧による蓄積した残留電荷の早い緩和といった特性が次第に重要となっている。
また、液晶配向性に優れ、電圧保持率が高く、残像が少なく、信頼性に優れ、且つ高いプレチルト角を示す液晶配向膜として、特定構造のテトラカルボン酸二無水物とシクロブタンを有するテトラカルボン酸二無水物と特定のジアミン化合物から得られるポリアミド酸やそのイミド化重合体を含有する液晶配向剤を使用したもの(例えば、特許文献4参照)が知られている。また、横電界駆動方式の液晶表示素子において発生する交流駆動による残像を抑制する方法として、液晶配向性が良好で、且つ液晶分子との相互作用が大きい特定の液晶配向膜を使用する方法(特許文献5参照)が提案されている。
一方、ポリイミド系の液晶配向剤を構成するポリマー成分として、ポリアミック酸エステルは、これをイミド化するときの加熱処理により分子量低下を起こさないために、液晶の配向安定性・信頼性に優れることが報告されている(特許文献6参照)。しかし、ポリアミック酸エステルは、一般に、体積抵抗率が高く、直流電圧を印加した際の残留電荷が大きいなどの問題があり、かかるポリアミック酸エステルを含有するポリイミド系の液晶配向剤の特性を改善する方法はいまだ知られていない。
すなわち、ポリアミック酸エステルとポリアミック酸とを含有する液晶配向剤から得られる液晶配向膜は、白濁現象を起こしてしまうということに加えて、膜を高温で使用した場合の電圧保持率の低下、直流電圧の蓄積による残像の発生、また、交流駆動による残像の発生などの不具合が生じる。
本発明は、ポリアミック酸エステルとポリアミック酸とを含有する液晶配向剤であって、液晶配向性と電気特性のいずれも良好で、かつ白濁のない透明性のある液晶配向膜が得られる液晶配向剤を提供することを目的とする。
さらに、本発明者の知見によると、上記熱により水素原子に置き換わる官能基をもつ特定の構造を有するポリアミック酸エステルは、それが高分子量である場合にも、有機溶媒への溶解性が良好になり、かかるポリアミック酸エステルを含有する液晶配向剤は、有機溶媒中に高濃度で含有した場合も比較的低粘度の液晶配向剤とすることができ、これにより、例えば、インクジェット法による液晶配向膜の製造も容易になり、また、厚みの大きい液晶配向膜の製造も容易になることが見出された。
1.下記(A)成分と(B)成分を含有することを特徴とする液晶配向剤。
(A)成分:下記式(1)で表される繰り返し単位を有するポリアミック酸エステルであり、且つ、下記(i)~(iii)のいずれかの条件を満たすポリアミック酸エステル。
(i) 式(1)のX1、Y1又はその両方が下記式(2)及び(3)からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種類の構造の1価又は2価の置換基を有している。
(ii) 式(1)のA1、A2又はその両方が下記式(2)及び(3)からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種類の構造の1価又は2価の置換基を有している。
(iii) 式(1)のX1、Y2又はその両方が下記式(2)及び(3)からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種類の構造の1価又は2価の置換基を有し、且つ、A1、A2又はその両方が下記式(2)及び(3)からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種類の構造の1価又は2価の置換基を有している。
(B)成分:下記式(4)で表される繰り返し単位を有するポリアミック酸。
2.(A)成分の含有量と(B)成分の含有量が、質量比(A/B)にて、1/9~9/1である上記1に記載の液晶配向剤。
3.(A)成分と(B)成分の合計含有量が、有機溶媒に対して、1~10質量%である上記1又は2に記載の液晶配向剤。
4.保護基D1が、tert-ブトキシカルボニル基及び9-フルオレニルメトキシカルボニル基からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種類の基である上記1~3のいずれかに記載の液晶配向剤。
5.保護基D2が、tert-ブチル基である上記1~4のいずれかに記載の液晶配向剤。
6.(A)成分が、下記式(5)及び(6)からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種類の構造で表される置換基を有しているポリアミック酸エステルである上記1~5に記載の液晶配向剤。
7.(A)成分が、式(1)のY1の構造に式(5)及び(6)からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種類の構造で表される置換基を有しているポリアミック酸エステルである上記1~6のいずれかに記載の液晶配向剤。
8.(A)成分が、式(1)のA1又はA2或はその両方が式(5)及び(6)からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種類の構造で表される置換基を有しているポリアミック酸エステルである上記1~7のいずれかに記載の液晶配向剤。
9.(A)成分が、式(1)のY1が下記式(7)で表される構造であるポリアミック酸エステルである上記1~8のいずれかに記載の液晶配向剤。
10.(A)成分が、式(1)のY1が、下式で表わされる構造からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種類の構造を有する請求項1~9のいずれかに記載の液晶配向剤。
また、本発明による液晶配向剤は、有機溶媒中に高濃度で含有した場合も比較的低粘度であることにより、例えば、インクジェット法による液晶配向膜の製造も容易になり、また、厚みの大きい液晶配向膜の製造も容易である利点を有する。
すなわち、ポリアミック酸エステルとポリアミック酸とが有機溶剤中に溶解された液晶配向剤から溶媒が除去されて形成される液晶配向膜では、ポリアミック酸よりも表面自由エネルギーが低いポリアミック酸エステルが表面に偏在するものの、ポリアミック酸エステルとポリアミック酸とが相分離を起こすことによって、ポリアミック酸エステル相の中にポリアミック酸の凝集体が形成されるか、又はポリアミック酸相の中にポリアミック酸エステルの凝集体が形成されるために、膜表面に微細な凹凸が多数存在する膜となる。
かくして、得られる液晶配向膜の表面は、ポリアミック酸エステルとポリアミック酸の相分離による凹凸が形成されることがないために平滑な表面となり、凹凸の発生に起因する膜の白濁も低減される。そして、凹凸のない平滑な表面を有する液晶配向膜は、配向安定性、信頼性に優れたポリアミック酸エステルが表面に存在し、且つ、電気特性に優れたポリアミック酸が膜内部及び電極界面に存在するため、優れた特性を有するものと考えられる。
一方、ポリアミック酸エステルの有する上記特定構造の官能基は、その後のイミド化や焼成処理における加熱によって水素原子に置き換わるため、得られる液晶配向膜には前記官能基は存在せず、これらの特定構造の官能基の存在による影響もなく、特定構造の官能基を有さないポリアミック酸エステルを用いた場合と同等の特性を有する液晶配向膜が得られる。
本発明に用いられるポリアミック酸エステル及びポリアミック酸は、ポリイミドを得るためのポリイミド前駆体であり、加熱することによって下記に示すイミド化反応が可能な部位を有するポリマーである。
この置換基の例としてはハロゲン基、水酸基、チオール基、ニトロ基、アリール基、オルガノオキシ基、オルガノチオ基、オルガノシリル基、アシル基、エステル基、チオエステル基、リン酸エステル基、アミド基、アルキル基、アルケニル基、アルキニル基を挙げることができる。
置換基であるハロゲン基としては、フッ素原子、塩素原子、臭素原子、ヨウ素原子が挙げられる。
置換基であるアリール基としては、フェニル基が挙げられる。このアリール基には前述した他の置換基がさらに置換していてもよい。
置換基であるオルガノオキシ基としては、O-Rで表される構造を示すことができる。このRは同一でも異なってもよく、前述したアルキル基、アルケニル基、アルキニル基、アリール基などを例示することができる。これらのRには前述した置換基がさらに置換していてもよい。オルガノオキシ基の具体例としては、メトキシ基、エトキシ基、プロピオキシ基、ブトキシ基、ペンチルオキシ基、ヘキシルオキシ基、ヘプチルオキシ基、オクチルオキシ基などが挙げられる。
置換基であるオルガノシリル基としては、-Si-(R)3で表される構造を示すことができる。このRは同一でも異なってもよく、前述したアルキル基、アルケニル基、アルキニル基、アリール基などを例示することができる。これらのRには前述した置換基がさらに置換していてもよい。アオルガノシリル基の具体例としては、トリメチルシリル基、トリエチルシリル基、トリプロピルシリル基、トリブチルシリル基、トリペンチルシリル基、トリヘキシルシリル基、ペンチルジメチルシリル基、ヘキシルジメチルシリル基などが挙げられる。
置換基であるアシル基としては、-C(O)-Rで表される構造を示すことができる。このRとしては、前述したアルキル基、アルケニル基、アリール基などを例示することができる。これらのRには前述した置換基がさらに置換していてもよい。アシル基の具体例としては、ホルミル基、アセチル基、プロピオニル基、ブチリル基、イソブチリル基、バレリル基、イソバレリル基、ベンゾイル基などが挙げられる。
置換基であるチオエステル基としては、-C(S)O-R、又は-OC(S)-Rで表される構造を示すことができる。このRとしては、前述したアルキル基、アルケニル基、アルキニル基、アリール基などを例示することができる。これらのRには前述した置換基がさらに置換していてもよい。
置換基であるアミド基としては、-C(O)NH2、又は、-C(O)NHR、-NHC(O)R、-C(O)N(R)2、-NRC(O)Rで表される構造を示すことができる。このRは同一でも異なってもよく、前述したアルキル基、アルケニル基、アルキニル基、アリール基などを例示することができる。これらのRには前述した置換基がさらに置換していてもよい。
置換基であるアリール基としては、前述したアリール基と同じものを挙げることができる。このアリール基には前述した他の置換基がさらに置換していてもよい。
置換基であるアルキル基としては、前述したアルキル基と同じものを挙げることができる。このアルキル基には前述した他の置換基がさらに置換していてもよい。
置換基であるアルキニル基としては、前述したアルキニル基と同じものを挙げることができる。このアルキニル基には前述した他の置換基がさらに置換していてもよい。
一般に、嵩高い構造を導入すると、アミノ基の反応性や液晶配向性を低下させる可能性があるため、A1及びA2としては、水素原子、又は置換基を有してもよい炭素数1~5のアルキル基がより好ましく、水素原子、メチル基又はエチル基が特に好ましい。
なかでも、良好な液晶配向性を得るためには、直線性の高いジアミンをポリアミック酸エステルに導入することが好ましく、Y1としては、Y-7、Y-10、Y-11、Y-12、Y-13、Y-21、Y-22、Y-23、Y-25、Y-26、Y-27、Y-41、Y-42、Y-43、Y-44、Y-45、Y-46、Y-48、Y-61、Y-63、Y-64、Y-71、Y-72、Y-73、Y-74、Y-75、Y-98のジアミンがより好ましい。また、プレチルト角を高くしたい場合は、側鎖に長鎖アルキル基、芳香族環、脂肪族環、ステロイド骨格、又はこれらを組み合わせた構造を有するジアミンをポリアミック酸エステルに導入することが好ましく、Y1としては、Y-76、Y-77、Y-78、Y-79、Y-80、Y-81、Y-82、Y-83、Y-84、Y-85、Y-86、Y-87、Y-88、Y-89、Y-90、Y-91、Y-92、Y-93、Y-94、Y-95、Y-96、又はY-97のジアミンがより好ましい。これらジアミンを全ジアミンの1~50モル%添加することにより、任意のプレチルト角を発現させることができる。
ポリアミック酸の体積抵抗率を低くすることで、直流電圧の蓄積による残像を低減できるため、ヘテロ原子を有する構造、多環芳香族構造、又はビフェニル骨格を有するジアミンをポリアミック酸に導入することが好ましく、Y2としては、Y-19、Y-23、Y-25、Y-26、Y-27、Y-30、Y-31、Y-32、Y-33、Y-34、Y-35、Y-36、Y-40、Y-41Y-42、Y-44、Y-45、Y-49、Y-50、Y-51、又はY-61、Y-98、又はY-99がより好ましく、なかでもY-31、Y-40、Y-98、又はY-99がさらに好ましい。
また、上記式(1)における式(1)のY1が、下式で表わされる構造からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種類の構造を有するのが好ましい。
上記式(1)で表されるポリアミック酸エステルは、下記式(10)~(12)で表されるテトラカルボン酸誘導体のいずれかと、式(13)で表されるジアミン化合物との重縮合反応によって得ることができる。
上記式(1)で表されるポリアミック酸エステルは、上記モノマーを用いて、以下に示す(1)~(3)の方法で合成することができる。
(1)ポリアミック酸から合成する場合
ポリアミック酸エステルは、テトラカルボン酸二無水物とジアミンから得られるポリアミック酸をエステル化することによって合成することができる。
エステル化剤としては、精製によって容易に除去できるものが好ましく、N,N-ジメチルホルムアミドジメチルアセタール、N,N-ジメチルホルムアミドジエチルアセタール、N,N-ジメチルホルムアミドジプロピルアセタール、N,N-ジメチルホルムアミドジネオペンチルブチルアセタール、N,N-ジメチルホルムアミドジ-t-ブチルアセタール、1-メチル-3-p-トリルトリアゼン、1-エチル-3-p-トリルトリアゼン、1-プロピル-3-p-トリルトリアゼン、4-(4,6-ジメトキシー1,3,5-トリアジンー2-イル)-4-メチルモルホリニウムクロリドなどが挙げられる。エステル化剤の添加量は、ポリアミック酸の繰り返し単位1モルに対して、2~6モル当量が好ましい。
ポリアミック酸エステルは、テトラカルボン酸ジエステルジクロリドとジアミンとの重縮合反応により合成することができる。
前記塩基には、ピリジン、トリエチルアミン、4-ジメチルアミノピリジンなどが使用できるが、反応が穏和に進行するためにピリジンが好ましい。塩基の添加量は、除去が容易な量で、かつ高分子量体が得やすいという点から、テトラカルボン酸ジエステルジクロリドに対して、2~4倍モルであることが好ましい。
ポリアミック酸エステルは、テトラカルボン酸ジエステルとジアミンを重縮合することにより合成することができる。
前記塩基には、ピリジン、トリエチルアミンなどの3級アミンが使用できる。塩基の添加量は、除去が容易な量で、かつ高分子量体が得やすいという点から、ジアミン成分に対して2~4倍モルが好ましい。
上記3つのポリアミック酸エステルの合成方法の中でも、高分子量のポリアミック酸エステルが得られるため、上記(1)又は上記(2)の合成法が特に好ましい。
上記のようにして得られるポリアミック酸エステルの溶液は、よく撹拌させながら貧溶媒に注入することで、ポリマーを析出させることができる。析出を数回行い、貧溶媒で洗浄後、常温あるいは加熱乾燥して精製されたポリアミック酸エステルの粉末を得ることができる。貧溶媒は、特に限定されないが、水、メタノール、エタノール、ヘキサン、ブチルセロソルブ、アセトン、トルエン等が挙げられる。
上記式(4)で表されるポリアミック酸は、下記式(14)で表されるテトラカルボン酸二無水物と式(15)で表されるジアミン化合物との重縮合反応によって得ることができる。
上記の反応に用いる有機溶媒は、モノマーおよびポリマーの溶解性からN,N-ジメチルホルムアミド、N-メチル-2-ピロリドン、γ-ブチロラクトンが好ましく、これらは1種又は2種以上を混合して用いてもよい。ポリマーの濃度は、ポリマーの析出が起こりにくく、かつ高分子量体が得やすいという点から、1~30質量%が好ましく、5~20質量%がより好ましい。
上記のようにして得られたポリアミック酸は、反応溶液をよく撹拌させながら貧溶媒に注入することで、ポリマーを析出させて回収することができる。また、析出を数回行い、貧溶媒で洗浄後、常温あるいは加熱乾燥することで精製されたポリアミック酸の粉末を得ることができる。貧溶媒は、特に限定されないが、水、メタノール、エタノール、ヘキサン、ブチルセロソルブ、アセトン、トルエン等が挙げられる。
本発明に記載の熱脱離性の保護基を有するポリアミック酸エステルは、上記式(1)で表される繰り返し単位を有するポリアミック酸エステルであり、且つ、下記(i)~(iii)のいずれかの条件を満たすポリアミック酸エステルである。
(i) 式(1)のX1、Y1又はその両方が下記式(2)及び(3)からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種類の構造の1価又は2価の置換基を有している。
(ii) 式(1)のA1、A2又はその両方が下記式(2)及び(3)からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種類の構造の1価又は2価の置換基を有している。
(iii) 式(1)のX1、Y2又はその両方が下記式(2)及び(3)からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種類の構造の1価又は2価の置換基を有し、且つ、A1、A2又はその両方が下記式(2)及び(3)からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種類の構造
の1価又は2価の置換基を有している。
式(3)中、B1は単結合又は2価の有機基である。2価の有機基の好ましい例としては、エーテル結合、アミド結合、エステル結合、チオエステル結合若しくはチオエーテル結合を含んでもよいアルキレン基、アリーレン基、又はそれらの組み合わせが挙げられる。また、式(3)中におけるエステル基が結合する原子は炭素である。
D1がtert-ブトキシカルボニル基又は9-フルオレニルメトキシカルボニル基である式(2)で表される構造の1価又は2価の置換基は、下記式に示す1級又は2級のアミノ基を有する化合物と二炭酸ジ-tert-ブチルを塩基存在下で作用させる方法、又は、1級又は2級のアミノ基を有する化合物にクロロぎ酸-9-フルオレニルメチルを塩基存在下で作用させる方法により得られるが、公知の方法であれば、特に限定されるものではない。
式(3)中、D2はカルボキシル基の保護基であり、加熱により水素原子に置き換わる官能基であれば、その構造は特に限定されない。D2としては、液晶配向膜を得る際の焼成温度である150℃~300℃で効率よく脱離反応が進行する構造が好ましく、下記式(D2-1)~(D2-5)の官能基がより好ましく、下記式(D2-1)がさらに好ましい。
D2が上記式(D2-1)である式(3)で表される構造の1価の置換基は、下記式に示すカルボキシル基とtert-ブチルアルコールを反応させる方法、クロロカルボニル化合物とtert-ブチルアルコールを反応させる方法、又はカルボキシル基とハロゲン化tert-ブチルを反応させる方法により得られるが、公知の方法であれば、特に限定されるものではない。上記方法で得られた置換基を有する化合物をテトラカルボン酸誘導体物又はその前駆体やジアミン化合物又はその前駆体に付加し、熱で水素原子に置き換わる官能基を有する置換基を有するテトラカルボン酸誘導体及び/又はジアミンを合成し、これらをポリアミック酸エステルの原料とすることで本発明の熱脱離性の保護基を有するポリアミック酸エステルが得られる。
本発明の熱脱離性の保護基を有するポリアミック酸エステルは、式(1)で表され、かつX1、Y1、A1、A2のいずれの場所にも式(2)及び(3)で表される置換基が存在していない構造単位を含んでいても構わない。式(2)及び(3)で表される置換基の導入量が少なすぎると、ポリアミック酸エステルとポリアミック酸の相分離による微細な凹凸を抑制する効果が小さくなるため、X1、Y1、A1、A2のいずれかの場所に存在している式(2)及び(3)で表される置換基の含有率は、式(1)で表される構造単位を基準として0.05以上であることが好ましく、0.10以上であることが特に好ましい。
上記の定義では、例えばポリアミック酸エステルに含まれる式(1)で表される構造単位が、「式(1)のX1及びY1にはそれぞれ式(2)及び(3)からなる群から選ばれる1種類の置換基を1個ずつ有し、尚且つA1又はA2が式(2)及び(3)からなる群から選ばれる1種類の置換基である構造単位」のみである場合、このポリアミック酸エステルにおける式(2)及び(3)で表される置換基の含有率は4.00となる。
上記式(2)及び(3)で表される熱で水素原子に置き換わる官能基を有する置換基の具体例としては、以下の(D-1)~(D-24)を挙げることができるが、これらに限定されるものではない。
本発明の液晶配向剤は、上記熱脱離性の保護基を有するポリアミック酸エステルとポリアミック酸とが有機溶媒中に溶解された溶液の形態を有する。熱脱離性の保護基を有するポリアミック酸エステルの分子量は、重量平均分子量で2,000~500,000が好ましく、より好ましくは5,000~300,000であり、さらに好ましくは、10,000~100,000である。また、数平均分子量は、好ましくは、1,000~250,000であり、より好ましくは、2,500~150,000であり、さらに好ましくは、5,000~50,000である。
一方、ポリアミック酸の重量平均分子量は、好ましくは2,000~500,000が好ましく、より好ましくは5,000~300,000であり、さらに好ましくは、10,000~100,000である。また、数平均分子量は、好ましくは、1,000~250,000であり、より好ましくは、2,500~150,000であり、さらに好ましくは、5,000~50,000である。
熱脱離性の保護基を有するポリアミック酸エステルの分子量をポリアミック酸よりも小さくすることにより、相分離による微小凹凸をさらに低減することができる。熱脱離性の保護基を有するポリアミック酸エステルとポリアミック酸の重量平均分子量の差は好ましくは1,000~200,000であるのが好ましく、5,000~150,000がより好ましく、10,000~100,000であるのが特に好ましい。
本発明の液晶配向剤において、熱脱離性の保護基を有するポリアミック酸エステルとポリアミック酸の含有比率(ポリアミック酸エステル/ポリアミック酸)は、質量基準で、1/9~9/1であるのが好ましい。かかる比率は、より好ましくは2/8であり、特に好ましくは3/7~7/3であることが好ましい。かかる比率をこの範囲にせしめることにより、液晶配向性と電気特性のいずれもが良好な液晶配向剤を提供できる。
また、熱脱離性の保護基を有するポリアミック酸エステル及び/又はポリアミク酸を有機溶媒中で製造する場合には、得られる反応溶液そのものであってもよく、また、この反応溶液を適宜の溶媒で希釈したものであってもよい。また、熱脱離性の保護基を有するポリアミック酸エステルを粉末として得た場合は、これを有機溶媒に溶解させて溶液としたものであってもよい。
本発明の液晶配向剤に含有される上記有機溶媒は、熱脱離性の保護基を有するアミック酸エステル及びポリアミック酸のポリマー成分が均一に溶解するものであれば特に限定されない。その具体例を挙げるならば、N,N-ジメチルホルムアミド、N,N-ジエチルホルムアミド、N,N-ジメチルアセトアミド、N-メチル-2-ピロリドン、N-エチル-2-ピロリドン、N-メチルカプロラクタム、2-ピロリドン、N-ビニル-2-ピロリドン、ジメチルスルホキシド、ジメチルスルホン、γ-ブチロラクトン、1,3-ジメチル-イミダゾリジノン、3-メトキシ-N,N-ジメチルプロパンアミド等を挙げることができる。これらは1種又は2種以上を混合して用いてもよい。また、単独ではポリマー成分を均一に溶解できない溶媒であっても、ポリマーが析出しない範囲であれば、上記の有機溶媒に混合してもよい。
本発明の液晶配向剤は、シランカップリング剤や架橋剤などの各種添加剤を含有してもよい。シランカップリング剤や架橋剤を添加する場合は、ポリマーの析出を防ぐため、液晶配向剤に貧溶媒を加える場合は、その前に添加するのが好ましい。また、塗膜を焼成する際にポリアミック酸エステルのイミド化を効率よく進行させるために、イミド化促進剤を添加してもよい。
本発明の液晶配向膜は、上記のようにして得られた液晶配向剤を基板に塗布し、乾燥、焼成して得られた塗膜であり、必要に応じてこの塗膜面をラビング等の配向処理をする。
本発明の液晶配向剤を塗布する基板としては透明性の高い基板であれば特に限定されず、ガラス基板、窒化珪素基板、アクリル基板やポリカーボネート基板等のプラスチック基板等を用いることができる。液晶駆動のためのITO電極等が形成された基板を用いることがプロセスの簡素化の点から好ましい。また、反射型の液晶表示素子では片側の基板のみにならばシリコンウエハー等の不透明な物でも使用でき、この場合の電極はアルミニウム等の光を反射する材料も使用できる。本発明の液晶配向剤の塗布方法としては、スピンコート法、印刷法、インクジェット法などが挙げられる。
本発明の液晶配向剤を塗布した後の乾燥、焼成工程は、任意の温度と時間を選択することができる。通常は、含有される有機溶媒を十分に除去するために50℃~120℃で1分~10分乾燥させ、その後150℃~300℃で5分~120分焼成される。焼成後の塗膜の厚みは、特に限定されないが、薄すぎると液晶表示素子の信頼性が低下する場合があるので、5~300nm、好ましくは10~200nmである。
光配向処理法の具体例としては、前記塗膜表面に、一定方向に偏光した放射線を照射し、場合によってはさらに150~250℃の温度で加熱処理を行い、液晶配向能を付与する方法が挙げられる。放射線の波長としては、100nm~800nmの波長を有する紫外線や可視光線を用いることができる。このうち、100nm~400nmの波長を有する紫外線が好ましく、200nm~400nmの波長を有するものが特に好ましい。また、液晶配向性を改善するために、塗膜基板を50~250℃で加熱しつつ、放射線を照射してもよい。前記配向処理などにおける放射線の照射量は、1~10,000mJ/cm2の範囲にあることが好ましく、100~5,000mJ/cm2の範囲にあることが特に好ましい。
以上の様にして作製した液晶配向膜は、液晶分子を一定の方向に安定して配向させることができる。
以下に、本実施例及び比較例で使用した化合物の略号、及び各特性の測定方法は、以下のとおりである。

合成例において、ポリアミック酸エステル及びポリアミック酸溶液の粘度は、E型粘度計TVE-22H(東機産業社製)を用い、サンプル量1.1mL、コーンロータTE-1(1°34’、R24)、温度25℃で測定した。
[分子量]
また、ポリアミック酸エステルの分子量はGPC(常温ゲル浸透クロマトグラフィー)装置によって測定し、ポリエチレングリコール、ポリエチレンオキシド換算値として数平均分子量(以下、Mnとも言う。)と重量平均分子量(以下、Mwとも言う。)を算出した。

検量線作成用標準サンプル:東ソー社製 TSK 標準ポリエチレンオキサイド(重量平均分子量(Mw) 約900,000、150,000、100,000、30,000)、及び、ポリマーラボラトリー社製 ポリエチレングリコール(ピークトップ分子量(Mp)約12,000、4,000、1,000)。測定は、ピークが重なるのを避けるため、900,000、100,000、12,000、1,000の4種類を混合したサンプル、及び150,000、30,000、4,000の3種類を混合したサンプルの2サンプルを別々に測定。
スピンコート塗布により得られた液晶配向剤の塗膜を、温度80℃のホットプレート上で5分間の乾燥、温度250℃の熱風循環式オーブンで1時間の焼成を行い、膜厚100nmの塗膜を形成させた。この塗膜の膜表面を原子間力顕微鏡(AFM)で観察し、膜表面の中心線平均粗さ(Ra)を測定し、膜表面の平坦性を評価した。
測定装置:L-traceプローブ顕微鏡 (エスアイアイ・テクノロジー社製)
[電圧保持率]
液晶配向剤を透明電極付きガラス基板上にスピンコートし、温度80℃のホットプレート上で5分間の乾燥、250℃の熱風循環式オーブンで60分間の焼成を経て膜厚100nmの塗膜を形成させた。この塗膜面に偏光板を介して254nmの紫外線を100mJ/cm2照射し、液晶配向膜付き基板を得た。このような液晶配向膜付き基板を2枚用意し、一方の基板の液晶配向膜面に直径6μmの粒状のスペーサーを散布した後、2枚の基板の配向が逆平行になるように組み合わせ、液晶注入口を残して周囲をシールし、セルギャップが6μmの空セルを作製した。この空セルに液晶(MLC-2041、メルク社製)を常温で真空注入し、注入口を封止して液晶セルとした。
上記液晶セルの電圧保持率の測定は以下のようにして行った。
4Vの電圧を60μs間印加し、16.67ms後の電圧を測定することで、初期値からの変動を電圧保持率として計算した。測定の際、液晶セルの温度を23℃、60℃、90℃とし、それぞれの温度で測定を行った。
[イオン密度]
上記液晶セルのイオン密度の測定は以下のようにして行った。
東陽テクニカ社製の6254型液晶物性評価装置を用いて測定を行った。10V、0.01Hzの三角波を印加し、得られた波形のイオン密度に相当する面積を三角形近似法により算出し、イオン密度とした。測定の際、液晶セルの温度を23℃、60℃とし、それぞれの温度で測定を行った。
ガラス基板上に、第1層目に電極として形状の膜厚50nmのITO電極を、第2層目に絶縁膜として形状の膜厚500nmの窒化珪素を、第3層目に電極として櫛歯形状のITO電極(電極幅:3μm、電極間隔:6μm、電極高さ:50nm)を有するフリンジフィールドスィッチング(Fringe Field Switching:以下、FFSという)駆動用電極が形成されているガラス基板に、スピンコート塗布にて液晶配向剤を塗布した。80℃のホットプレート上で5分間乾燥させた後、250℃の熱風循環式オーブンで60分間焼成を行い、膜厚100nmの塗膜を形成させた。この塗膜面に偏光板を介して254nmの紫外線を100mJ/cm2照射し、液晶配向膜付き基板を得た。また、対向基板として電極が形成されていない高さ4μmの柱状スペーサーを有するガラス基板にも、同様に塗膜を形成させ、配向処理を施した。
上記、2枚の基板を一組とし、基板上にシール剤を印刷し、もう1枚の基板を、液晶配向膜面が向き合い配向方向が0°になるようにして張り合わせた後、シール剤を硬化させて空セルを作製した。この空セルに減圧注入法によって、液晶MLC-2041(メルク社製)を注入し、注入口を封止して、FFS駆動液晶セルを得た。
このFFS駆動液晶セルの58℃の温度下でのV-T特性(電圧-透過率特性)を測定した後、±4V/120Hzの矩形波を4時間印加した。4時間後、電圧を切り、58℃の温度下で60分間放置した後、再度V-T特性を測定し、矩形波印加前後の透過率50%となる電圧の差を算出した。
上記FFS駆動液晶セルを光源上に置き、V-T特性(電圧-透過率特性)を測定した後、±1.5V/60Hzの矩形波を印加した状態での透過率(Ta)を測定した。その後、±1.5V/60Hzの矩形波10分間印加した後、直流1Vを重畳し30分間駆動させた。 直流電圧を切り、交流駆動10分経過した後の透過率(Tb)を測定し、TbとTaの差から液晶表示素子内に残留した電圧により生じた透過率の差を算出した。
(a.)ジメチル 1,3-ビス(クロロカルボニル)-1,3-ジメチルシクロブタン-2,4-ジカルボキシレート(1,3DMCBDE-Cl)の合成
(a-1)テトラカルボン酸ジアルキルエステルの合成
エバポレーターにて、この反応液から溶媒を留去した後、酢酸エチル1301gを加えて80℃まで加熱し、30分還流させた。その後、10分間に2~3℃の速度で内温が25℃になるまで冷却し、そのまま25℃で30分撹拌した。析出した白色結晶をろ過によって取り出し、この結晶を酢酸エチル141gにて2回洗浄した後、減圧乾燥することで、白色結晶を103.97g得た。
この結晶は、1H NMR分析、及びX線結晶構造解析の結果により、化合物(1-1)であることを確認した(HPLC相対面積97.5%)(収率36.8%)。

(a-2)1,3-DM-CBDE-C1の合成
続いて窒素気流下中、3Lの四つ口フラスコに、上記で得られた白色結晶226.09g、n-ヘプタン452.18gを仕込んだ後、60℃に加熱撹拌して結晶を溶解させた。その後、25℃まで10分間に1℃の速度で冷却撹拌し、結晶を析出させた。そのまま25℃で1時間撹拌させた後、析出した白色結晶をろ過により取り出し、この結晶をn-ヘキサン113.04gにて洗浄した後、減圧乾燥することで白色結晶を203.91g得た。この結晶は、1H NMR分析結果により、化合物(3-1)すなわち、ジメチル-1,3-ビス(クロロカルボニル)-1,3-ジメチルシクロブタン-2,4-ジカルボキシレート(1,3-DM-CBDE-C1)であるであることを確認した(HPLC相対面積99.5%)(収率77.2%)。

以下に示す4ステップの経路でジアミン化合物(DA-1)を合成した。

500 mL の四つ口フラスコに前記2-{3-(N-t-ブトキシカルボニル-N-t-ブトキシカルボニルメチルアミノ)-1-プロピニル)}-4-ニトロアニリン (22.0 g, 54.2 mmol)、および、エタノール (200 g) を加え、系内を窒素で置換した後、パラジウム炭素 (2.20 g) を加え、系内を水素で置換し、50 ℃で48時間攪拌した。反応終了後、セライトろ過によりパラジウム炭素を除き、ろ液に活性炭を加え、50 ℃で30 分攪拌した。その後、活性炭をろ過し、有機溶媒を減圧留去し、残留した油状物を減圧乾燥することで、ジアミン化合物(DA-1)を得た。収量は19.8 g、収率は 96% であった。
ジアミン化合物(DA-1)は1H NMRにより確認した。
1H NMR (DMSO-d6): δ 6.54-6.42 (m, 3H, Ar), 3.49, 3.47 (each s, 2H, NCH2CO2t-Bu), 3.38-3.30 (m, 2H, CH2CH2N), 2.51-2.44 (m, 2H, ArCH2), 1.84-1.76 (m, 2H, CH2CH2CH2), 1.48-1.44 (m, 18H, NCO2t-Bu and CH2CO2t-Bu).
撹拌装置付きの300mL四つ口フラスコを窒素雰囲気とし、4,4´-ジアミノジフェニルメタンを4.486g (22.63mmol)、DA-1を2.147g(5.658mmol)入れ、NMPを121.37g、塩基としてピリジンを5.16g(65.19mmol) 加え撹拌して溶解させた。次にこのジアミン溶液を撹拌しながら1,3DM-CBDE-Clを8.8384g (27.16mmol)添加し、水冷下4時間反応させた。4時間後、反応溶液にNMPを134.86g加え、室温(20℃)で15分撹拌した。得られたポリアミック酸エステルの溶液を、1349g の水に撹拌しながら投入し、析出した白色沈殿をろ取し、続いて、1349g の水で1回、1349g のエタノールで1回、337g のエタノールで3回洗浄し、乾燥することで白色のポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末11.04gを得た。収率は、81.9%であった。また、このポリアミック酸エステルの分子量はMn=15,205、Mw=30,219であった。
得られたポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末10.9690gを200ml三角フラスコにとり、NMP98.7394g を加え、室温で24時間撹拌し溶解させて、ポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-1)を得た。
撹拌装置付きの300mL四つ口フラスコを窒素雰囲気とし、4,4´-ジアミノジフェニルメタンを8.0102g (40.35mmol)入れ、NMPを158.1g、塩基としてピリジンを7.20g (91.03mmol) 加え撹拌して溶解させた。次にこのジアミン溶液を撹拌しながら1,3DM-CBDE-Clを12.3419g (37.93mmol)添加し、水冷下4時間反応させた。得られたポリアミック酸エステルの溶液を、1757g の水に撹拌しながら投入し、析出した白色沈殿をろ取し、続いて、1757g の水で1回、1757g のエタノールで1回、439g のエタノールで3回洗浄し、乾燥することで白色のポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末16.63gを得た。収率は、94.6%であった。また、このポリアミック酸エステルの分子量はMn=10,180、Mw=21,476であった。
得られたポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末14.8252を200ml三角フラスコにとり、NMP99.3048g を加え、室温で24時間撹拌し溶解させて、ポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-2)を得た。
(合成例3)
撹拌装置付き及び窒素導入管付きの100mL四つ口フラスコに、4,4´-ジアミノジフェニルアミンを7.9693g(40mmol)取り、NMPを31.7g加えて、窒素を送りながら撹拌し溶解させた。このジアミン溶液を撹拌しながらBDAを7.1339g(36.01mmol)添加し、更に固形分濃度が25質量%になるようにNMPを加え、室温で24時間撹拌してポリアミック酸(PAA-1)の溶液を得た。このポリアミック酸溶液の温度25℃における粘度は2680mPa・sであった。また、このポリアミック酸の分子量はMn=8,176、Mw=16,834であった。
撹拌装置付き及び窒素導入管付きの100mL四つ口フラスコに、4,4´-ジアミノジフェニルアミンを5.9791g(30.01mmol)、3,5-ジアミノ安息香酸を3.0446g(20.01mmol)取り、NMPを39.69g加えて、窒素を送りながら撹拌し溶解させた。このジアミン溶液を撹拌しながらBDAを9.8379g(49.65mmol)添加し、更に固形分濃度が25質量%になるようにNMPを加え、室温で24時間撹拌してポリアミック酸の溶液を得た。このポリアミック酸溶液の温度25℃における粘度は8000mPa・sであった。また、このポリアミック酸の分子量はMn=13,696、Mw=28,619であった。
得られたポリアミック酸溶液5.5355gを50ml三角フラスコに取り、NMP8.3744gを加えて、室温で24時間撹拌し溶解させて、10質量%のポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-2)を得た。
(合成例5)
撹拌装置付き及び窒素導入管付きの100mL四つ口フラスコに、4,4´-ジアミノジフェニルアミンを3.6652g(18.39mmol)及び3,5-ジアミノ安息香酸を0.6992g(4.595mmol)取り、NMPを39.36g加えて、窒素を送りながら撹拌し溶解させた。このジアミン溶液を撹拌しながらCBDAを4.3326g(22.09mmol)添加し、更に固形分濃度が15質量%になるようにNMPを加え、室温で24時間撹拌してポリアミック酸(PAA-3)の溶液を得た。このポリアミック酸溶液の温度25℃における粘度は669mPa・sであった。また、このポリアミック酸の分子量はMn=16,902、Mw=34,865であった。
撹拌装置付き及び窒素導入管付きの100mL四つ口フラスコに、4,4´-ジアミノジフェニルエーテルを1.848g(9.23mmol)及び3,5-ジアミノ安息香酸を2.1025g(13.82mmol)取り、NMPを39.7g加えて、窒素を送りながら撹拌し溶解させた。このジアミン溶液を撹拌しながらPMDAを4.8162g(22.08mmol)添加し、更に固形分濃度が15質量%になるようにNMPを加え、室温で24時間撹拌してポリアミック酸(PAA-4)の溶液を得た。このポリアミック酸溶液の温度25℃における粘度は257mPa・sであった。また、このポリアミック酸の分子量はMn=13,620、Mw=28,299であった。
合成例2で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-1)1.5289gと合成例3で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-1)0.5184gを三角フラスコにとり、NMP2.0050g、BCS1.0011gを加えてマグネチックスターラーで30分間撹拌し液晶配向剤(I)を得た。
(実施例2)
合成例2で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-1)1.5246gと合成例4で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-2)1.4067gを三角フラスコにとり、NMP1.0960g、BCS1.0112gを加えてマグネチックスターラーで30分間撹拌し液晶配向剤(II)を得た。
(実施例3)
合成例2で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-1)1.5119gと合成例5で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-3)1.0074gを三角フラスコにとり、NMP1.5183g、BCS1.0313gを加えてマグネチックスターラーで30分間撹拌し液晶配向剤(III)を得た。
(実施例4)
合成例2で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-1)1.5018gと合成例6で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-4)1.1008gを三角フラスコにとり、NMP1.4859g、BCS1.0214gを加えてマグネチックスターラーで30分間撹拌し液晶配向剤(IV)を得た。
比較合成例1で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-2)3.00gと合成例3で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-1)1.021gを三角フラスコにとり、NMP3.99g、BCS2.0128gを加えてマグネチックスターラーで30分間撹拌し液晶配向剤(a)を得た。
(比較例2)
比較合成例1で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-2)1.5119gと合成例4で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-2)1.4334gを三角フラスコにとり、NMP1.0903g、BCS1.0271gを加えてマグネチックスターラーで30分間撹拌し液晶配向剤(b)を得た。
(比較例3)
比較合成例1で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-2)3.00gと合成例5で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-3)2.0141gを三角フラスコにとり、NMP3.01g、BCS2.0111gを加えてマグネチックスターラーで30分間撹拌し液晶配向剤(c)を得た。
(比較例4)
比較合成例1で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-2)1.5206gと合成例6で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-4)1.0258gを三角フラスコにとり、NMP1.4838g、BCS1.0418gを加えてマグネチックスターラーで30分間撹拌し液晶配向剤(d)を得た。
合成例2で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-1)3.1281gを三角フラスコにとり、NMP1.0911g、BCS1.0532gを加えてマグネチックスターラーで30分撹拌し、液晶配向剤(e)を得た。
実施例1で得られた液晶配向剤(I)を1.0μmのフィルターで濾過した後、透明電極付きガラス基板上にスピンコートし、温度80℃のホットプレート上で5分間の乾燥、温度250℃で1時間の焼成を経て膜厚100nmの塗膜を形成させた。この塗膜について、中心線平均粗さ(Ra)を測定した。測定結果については、後述する表1に示す。
(実施例6~9及び比較例7~10)
上記実施例2~4、比較例1~4で得られたそれぞれの各液晶配向剤(II)~(IV)及び(a)~(d)を用いた以外は、実施例5と同様の方法で各塗膜を形成させた。各塗膜の膜表面をAFMにて観察した。また、各塗膜について、中心線平均粗さ(Ra)を測定した。これらの測定結果を後述する表1に示す。
(実施例10)
実施例1で得られた液晶配向剤(I)を1.0μmのフィルターで濾過した後、透明電極付きガラス基板上にスピンコートし、温度80℃のホットプレート上で5分間の乾燥、温度250℃で1時間の焼成を経て膜厚100nmの塗膜を形成させた。この塗膜面に偏光板を介して254nmの紫外線を100mJ/cm2照射し、液晶配向膜付き基板を得た。このような液晶配向膜付き基板を2枚用意し、一方の基板の液晶配向膜面に6μmのスペーサーを散布した後、2枚の基板の配向が逆平行になるように組み合わせ、液晶注入口を残して周囲をシールし、セルギャップが6μmの空セルを作製した。この空セルに液晶(MLC-2041、メルク株式会社製)を常温で真空注入し、注入口を封止して液晶セルとした。この液晶セルについて、電圧保持率を測定し、その後イオン密度の測定を行った。電圧保持率及びイオン密度の測定結果は後述する表2に示す。
(実施例11~13及び比較例11~15)
上記実施例2~4、比較例1~5で得られたそれぞれの各液晶配向剤(II)~(IV)及び(a)~(e)を用いた以外は、実施例10と同様の方法で各液晶セルを作製した。各液晶セルについて、電圧保持率を測定し、その後イオン密度の測定を行った。これらの電圧保持率及びイオン密度の測定結果を後述する表2に示す。
実施例1で得られた液晶配向剤(I)を1.0μmのフィルターで濾過した後、ガラス基板上に、第1層目として膜厚50nmのITO電極を、第2層目として絶縁膜として膜厚500nmの窒化ケイ素を、第3層目として櫛歯形状のITO電極(電極幅:3μm、電極間隔:6μm、電極高さ:50nm)を有するFFS駆動用電極が形成されているガラス基板に、スピンコート塗布にて塗布した。80℃のホットプレート上で5分間乾燥させた後、250℃の熱風循環式オーブンで60分間焼成を行い、膜厚100nmの塗膜を形成させた。この塗膜面に偏光板を介して254nmの紫外線を100mJ/cm2照射し、液晶配向膜付き基板を得た。また、対向基板として電極が形成されていない高さ4μmの柱状スペーサーを有するガラス基板にも、同様に塗膜を形成させ、配向処理を施した。
上記、2枚の基板を一組とし、基板上にシール剤を印刷し、もう1枚の基板を、液晶配向膜面が向き合い配向方向が0°になるようにして張り合わせた後、シール剤を硬化させて空セルを作製した。この空セルに減圧注入法によって、液晶MLC-2041(メルク株式会社製)を注入し、注入口を封止して、FFS駆動液晶セルを得た。
このFFS駆動液晶セルについて、交流駆動焼き付き特性及び電荷蓄積特性の評価を行った。結果については、後述する表3に示す。
(実施例15~17及び比較例16)
上記実施例2~4、比較例5で得られたそれぞれの各液晶配向剤(II)~(IV)及び(e)を用いた以外は、実施例14と同様の方法で各FFS駆動液晶セルを作製した。各FFS駆動液晶セルについて、交流駆動焼き付き特性及び電荷蓄積特性の評価を行った。結果を後述する表3に示す。

(合成例8)ジアミン化合物(DA-3)の合成
(N-Boc-プロパルギルアミンの合成)
四つ口フラスコにプロパルギルアミン(25.18g,0.448mol)、トリエチルアミン(55.52g,0.549mol)、ジクロロメタン400mlを加えた後、水浴(20℃)で反応溶液を冷却しながら、二炭酸ジ-tert-ブチル(118.15g,0.541mol)を30分かけて滴下した。滴下終了後、2時間撹拌した後、反応溶液に飽和食塩水300ml、ジクロロメタン200mlを加え、抽出した。得られた有機層を硫酸マグネシウムで乾燥した。乾燥剤を除去後、得られた溶液の溶媒を留去し、淡黄色オイルを得た。再結晶(ヘキサン)にて精製し、白色固体のN-Boc-プロパルギルアミンを得た(収量:47.01g,収率:67.6%)。
(ニトロ体の合成)
(DA-3の合成)
四つ口フラスコに前記ニトロ体(12.45g,42.7mmol)を入れ、エタノール200mlに懸濁させた。脱気、窒素置換した後、パラジウムカーボン(1.23g)を加え、水素置換し、室温(20℃)にて2日間撹拌した。セライトろ過により、パラジウムカーボンを除去し、溶媒を留去した。得られた固体をトルエン100mlに溶解させた後、ヘキサン50mlを加えて、再結晶した。得られた固体を減圧乾燥し、薄茶色固体を得た。(収量:9.13g、収率:80.6%)得られた固体の1H-NMR測定し、DA-Bが生成したことを確認した。
1H-NMR(DMSO-d6,δppm):1.38(s,9H)、1.57(q,J=7.2Hz,2H)、2.30(t,J=7.2Hz,2H)、2.94(quin,J=6.0Hz,2H)、3.88~4.22(m,4H)、6.22(dd,J=2.1Hz,8.1Hz,1H)、6.25(d,J=2.1Hz,1H)、6.37(d,J=8.1Hz,1H)、6.84(t,J=6.0Hz,1H).
(合成例9)ジアミン化合物(DA-4)の合成
500 mL ナスフラスコにp-フェニレンジアミン (16.2 g, 150 mmol)、N,N-ジメチルホルムアミド (200 mL)、炭酸カリウム (49.8 g, 360 mmol)を入れ、-20 ℃に冷却し、ブロモ酢酸t-ブチル (58.5 g, 300 mmol) をN,N-ジメチルホルムアミド (100 mL)に溶かした溶液を3時間で滴下した。その後、室温で20時間攪拌した。この反応混合物中の固体をろ過によって除いた後、ろ液を6 L の水に注ぎ、析出したジアミン化合物(D)の粗生成物を回収した。得られた粗生成物を 100 mL の N,N-ジメチルホルムアミドに溶解させ、再度 2 L の水に注いで固体を析出させた。この固体をメタノールで洗浄し、減圧乾燥することで薄桃色固体のジアミン化合物(DA-4)を得た。収量は 25.1 g、収率は 50% であった。
ジアミン化合物(D-4)の構造は1H NMRにより確認した。

(合成例12)1,3-ビス(4-アミノフェネチル)ウレアの合成
[A](52.50g、259mmol)、炭酸 ビス(4-ニトロフェニル)[B](37.53g、123mmol)およびTHF(1877g)を加え、そこにトリエチルアミン(74.90g、740mmol)および4-N,Nジメチルアミノピリジン(3.01g、24.7mmol)を加え、メカニカルスターラーにて撹拌を行った。反応をHPLCにて追跡し、反応終了後、純水(9L)へ反応溶液を空け、30分撹拌を行った。その後、ろ過を行い、純水(1L)で洗浄し、白色固体の粗物を得た。この得られた白色固体をメタノール(488g)で超音波装置にて分散洗浄した後、ろ過、乾燥を行い白色固体のジニトロ化合物[C]を得た(得量42.3g、収率96%)。

化合物[C](42.32g、118mmol)、5%パラジウムカーボン(4.23g、10wt%)、1,4-ジオキサン(2031g)の混合物を、窒素で置換した後、水素で置換しなおし、、水素存在下、室温にて攪拌した。反応をHPLCにて追跡し、反応終了後、セライトで触媒をろ過した後、ろ液を、減圧下、溶媒留去したところ、白色固体の粗物を得た。その粗物に2-プロパノール(85g)を加え、超音波装置にて分散洗浄を行った後、ろ過、乾燥を行い白色固体の1,3-ビス(4-アミノフェネチル)ウレアを得た(得量31.9g、収率91%)。

(合成例13)

500mL反応容器に化合物(d)(20.00g,44.0mmol)、塩化チオニル(120.0g,1.01mol)を加え、加熱還流を行った。30分後、20℃まで冷却した後、塩化チオニル(120.0g,1.01mol)を追加し、さらに2時間加熱還流を行った。反応終了後、過剰の塩化チオニルを減圧留去し、ヘキサン(200g)で洗浄した。次に、粗物に20℃にてジクロロメタン(200g)を加え撹拌を行い、そこへ化合物(c)(12.1g, 96.8mmol)、ピリジン(13.93g,176mmol)、ジクロロメタン(100g)溶液を徐々に滴下して加えた。1時間撹拌後、さらに化合物(c)(12.1g, 96.8mmol)、ピリジン(13.93g,176mmol)を加えた。反応終了後、溶媒を留去し、蒸留水(144g)で洗浄し粗物を得た。この粗物にテトラヒドロフラン(144g)を加え、23℃にて分散洗浄し、ろ過、テトラヒドロフラン(130g)、蒸留水(170g)、メタノール(150g)でそれぞれ洗浄後、乾燥し、(AD-4)を得た(収量:17.72g,収率:62%)。

攪拌装置付きの300ml四つ口フラスコに2,4-ビス(メトキシカルボニル)シクロブタン-1,3-ジカルボン酸を10.2046g(39.22mmol)取り、NMPを181.2g加え、撹拌して溶解させた。続いて、トリエチルアミンを8.90g(87.90mmol)、p-フェニレンジアミンを3.8987g(36.05mmol)、DA-2を0.9528g(4.02mmol)加え、撹拌して溶解させた。この溶液を撹拌しながら(2,3-ジヒドロキシ-2-チオキソ-3-ベンゾオキサゾイル)ホスホン酸ジフェニルを33.74g(88.01mmol)添加し、更にNMPを32g加え、水冷下で4時間反応させた。得られたポリアミド酸エステル溶液を1090gの2-プロパノールに撹拌しながら投入し、析出した沈殿物をろ取し、続いて、540gの2-プロパノールで5回洗浄し、乾燥することでポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末を得た。
このポリアミック酸エステルの分子量はMn=5210、Mw=8755であった。
得られたポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末2.4495gを50ml三角フラスコに取り、NMPを22.1541g加え、室温で24時間撹拌し溶解させて、ポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-3)を得た。
(合成例15)
攪拌装置付きの200ml四つ口フラスコに2,5-ビス(メトキシカルボニル)テレフタル酸を1.2736g(4.51mmol)、2,4-ビス(メトキシカルボニル)シクロブタン-1,3-ジカルボン酸を2.6915g(10.34mmol)取り、NMPを73.20g加え、撹拌して溶解させた。続いて、トリエチルアミンを3.34g(33.01mmol)、1,3-ビス(4-アミノフェノキシ)プロパンを3.4376g(12.01mmol)、DA-2を0.7122g(3.00mmol)加え、撹拌して溶解させた。この溶液を撹拌しながら(2,3-ジヒドロキシ-2-チオキソ-3-ベンゾオキサゾイル)ホスホン酸ジフェニルを12.65g(33.0mmol)添加し、更にNMPを10g加え、水冷下で4時間反応させた。得られたポリアミド酸エステル溶液を530gの2-プロパノールに撹拌しながら投入し、析出した沈殿物をろ取し、続いて、210gの2-プロパノールで5回洗浄し、乾燥することでポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末を得た。
このポリアミック酸エステルの分子量はMn=10281、Mw=23163であった。
得られたポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末2.5429gを50ml三角フラスコに取り、NMPを22.9458g加え、室温で24時間撹拌し溶解させて、ポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-4)を得た。
(合成例16)
攪拌装置付きの300mL四つ口フラスコを窒素雰囲気とし、4,4’-ジアミノジフェニルメタンを5.0067g(25.25mmol)、DA-6を3.0573g(6.31mmol)入れ、NMPを139g、塩基としてピリジンを5.57g(70.36mmol)加え、攪拌して溶解させた。次にこのジアミン溶液を攪拌しながら1,3DM-CBDE-Clを9.5299g(29.31mmol)添加し、水冷下4時間反応させた。得られたポリアミック酸エステルの溶液を1545gの純水に攪拌しながら投入し、析出した白色沈殿をろ取し、続いて1545gの純水で1回、1545gのエタノールで1回洗浄し、さらに386gのエタノールで3回洗浄し、乾燥することで白色のポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末を得た。このポリアミック酸エステルの分子量はMn=14359、Mw=31558であった。
得られたポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末12.31gを50ml三角フラスコにとり、NMPを110.79g加え、室温で24時間攪拌し溶解させて、ポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-5)を得た。
攪拌装置付きの200ml四つ口フラスコに2,5-ビス(メトキシカルボニル)テレフタル酸を5.5958g(19.83mmol)取り、NMPを68.70g加え、撹拌して溶解させた。続いて、トリエチルアミンを4.01g(39.63mmol)、3-アミノベンジルアミンを1.9611g(16.05mmol)、DA-2を0.9493g(4.00mmol)加え、撹拌して溶解させた。この溶液を撹拌しながら4-(4,6-ジメトキシ-1,3,5-トリアジン-2-イル)-4-メチルモルホリニウムクロリド(15±2重量%水和物)を16.40g添加し、更にNMPを7.72g加え、水冷下で4時間反応させた。得られたポリアミド酸エステル溶液を633gの2-プロパノールに撹拌しながら投入し、析出した沈殿物をろ取し、続いて、210gの2-プロパノールで5回洗浄し、乾燥することでポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末を得た。このポリアミック酸エステルの分子量はMn=5152、Mw=8788であった。
得られたポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末2.5630gを50ml三角フラスコに取り、NMPを23.0971g加え、室温で24時間撹拌し溶解させて、ポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-6)を得た。
(合成例18)
撹拌装置付きの300mL四つ口フラスコを窒素雰囲気とし、4,4´-ジアミノジフェニルメタンを1.5163g (7.65mmol)、DA-1を2.8712g(7.57mmol)入れ、NMPを73.3g、塩基としてピリジンを2.82g(35.59mmol) 加え撹拌して溶解させた。次にこのジアミン溶液を撹拌しながら1,3DM-CBDE-Clを4.8583g(14.94mmol)添加し、水冷下4時間反応させた。4時間後、反応溶液にNMPを81.44g加え、室温(20℃)で15分撹拌した。得られたポリアミック酸エステルの溶液を、850gの2-プロパノールに撹拌しながら投入し、析出した白色沈殿をろ取し、続いて、170gの2-プロパノールで5回洗浄し、乾燥することで白色のポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末を得た。このポリアミック酸エステルの分子量はMn=21514、Mw=43900であった。
得られたポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末2.1684gを50ml三角フラスコにとり、NMPを19.2226g加え、室温で24時間撹拌し溶解させて、ポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-7)を得た。
(合成例19)
撹拌装置付き及び窒素導入管付きの200mL四つ口フラスコに、p-フェニレンジアミンを1.7312g(16.01mmol)及びDA-2を0.9444g(3.98mmol)取り、NMPを32.47g加えて、窒素を送りながら撹拌し溶解させた。このジアミン溶液を撹拌しながら2.3.5-トリカルボキシシクロペンチル酢酸二無水物を4.4841g(20.0mmol)添加し、更に固形分濃度が15質量%になるようにNMPを加え、室温で24時間撹拌した。この溶液の温度25℃における粘度は580mPa・sであった。この溶液にNMPを23.28g加え、固形分濃度10質量%とした後、1-メチル-3-p-トリルトリアゼンを6.04g(40.5mmol)加えて、室温で4時間撹拌した。4時間後、反応液を286gの2-プロパノールに撹拌しながら投入し、析出した沈殿物をろ取し、続いて、140gの2-プロパノールで5回洗浄し、乾燥することでポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末を得た。このポリアミック酸エステルの分子量はMn=16532、Mw=50698であった。
撹拌子を入れた50mlサンプル管に得られたポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末を2.2078g取り、NMPを19.7894g加え、室温で24時間撹拌し溶解させて、ポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-8)を得た。
撹拌装置付きの300mL四つ口フラスコを窒素雰囲気とし、4-アミノ-N-メチルフェネチルアミンを1.9995g(13.28mmol)、DA-5を0.9379g(3.35mmol)を入れ、NMPを130.70g、塩基としてピリジンを3.80g(37.54mmol)加え、撹拌して溶解させた。次にこのジアミン溶液を撹拌しながら1,3DM-CBDE-Clを5.0894g(15.65mmol)添加し、水冷下4時間反応させた。得られたポリアミック酸エステルの溶液を、688gの2-プロパノールに撹拌しながら投入し、析出した白色沈殿をろ取し、続いて172gの2-プロパノールで5回洗浄し、乾燥することで白色のポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末を得た。このポリアミック酸エステルの分子量はMn=7331、Mw=14716であった。
得られたポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末1.9755gを50ml三角フラスコにとり、NMPを17.7314g加え、室温で24時間撹拌し溶解させて、ポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-9)を得た。
(合成例21)
撹拌装置付きの100mL四つ口フラスコを窒素雰囲気とし、p-フェニレンジアミンを0.6005g(5.55mmol)、DA-4を0.2334g(0.694mmol)、DA-3を0.1849g(0.693mmol)入れ、NMPを49.80g、塩基としてピリジンを1.15g(14.56mmol)加え、撹拌して溶解させた。次にこのジアミン溶液を撹拌しながら1,3DM-CBDE-Clを2.2550g(6.94mmol)添加し、水冷下4時間反応させた。得られたポリアミック酸エステルの溶液を、277gの水に撹拌しながら投入し、析出した白色沈殿をろ取し、続いて69gの水で5回洗浄し、乾燥することで白色のポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末を得た。このポリアミック酸エステルの分子量はMn=16919、Mw=27982であった。
得られたポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末2.0204gを50ml三角フラスコにとり、GBLを18.1836g加え、室温で24時間撹拌し溶解させて、ポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-10)を得た。
(合成例22)
攪拌装置付きの300ml四つ口フラスコに2,5-ビス(メトキシカルボニル)テレフタル酸を2.2570g(8.00mmol)、2,4-ビス(メトキシカルボニル)シクロブタン-1,3-ジカルボン酸を3.0206g(11.61mmol)取り、NMPを100.35g加え、撹拌して溶解させた。続いて、トリエチルアミンを4.45g(43.98mmol)、1,5-ビス(4-アミノフェノキシ)プロパンを3.0934g(11.98mmol)、1,3-ビス(4-アミノフェネチル)ウレアを1.2018g(4.03mmol)、DA-3を1.0653g(4.02mmol)加え、撹拌して溶解させた。この溶液を撹拌しながら(2,3-ジヒドロキシ-2-チオキソ-3-ベンゾオキサゾイル)ホスホン酸ジフェニルを16.92g(44.14mmol)添加し、更にNMPを13.14g加え、水冷下で4時間反応させた。得られたポリアミド酸エステル溶液を890gの2-プロパノールに撹拌しながら投入し、析出した沈殿物をろ取し、続いて、300gの2-プロパノールで5回洗浄し、乾燥することでポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末を得た。
このポリアミック酸エステルの分子量はMn=9170、Mw=19990であった。
得られたポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末1.8720gを50ml三角フラスコに取り、NMPを16.9543g加え、室温で24時間撹拌し溶解させて、ポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-11)を得た。
撹拌装置付きの300mL四つ口フラスコを窒素雰囲気とし、p-フェニレンジアミンを3.02g (27.93mmol)とり、NMPを173.0g、塩基としてピリジンを5.16g(65.25mmol)加え、撹拌して溶解させた。次にこのジアミン溶液を撹拌しながらジメチル2,4-ビス(クロロカルボニル)シクロブタン-1,3-ジカルボキシレートを8.09g (27.23mmol)を添加し、水冷下2時間反応させた。得られたポリアミック酸エステルの溶液を、1000gの水に投入し、析出した白色沈殿をろ取し、続いて、300gの2-プロパノールで5回洗浄し、乾燥することで白色のポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末を得た。このポリアミック酸エステルの分子量はMn=10820、Mw=29197であった。
得られたポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末1.5309を50ml三角フラスコに取り、NMPを13.7781g、N,N-ジメチルホルムアミドを16.9279g加え、室温で24時間撹拌し溶解させて、ポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-12)を得た。
(合成例24)
攪拌装置付きの200ml四つ口フラスコに2,5-ビス(メトキシカルボニル)テレフタル酸を1.7779g(6.30mmol)、2,4-ビス(メトキシカルボニル)シクロブタン-1,3-ジカルボン酸を3.7712g(14.49mmol)取り、NMPを146.71g加え、撹拌して溶解させた。続いて、トリエチルアミンを4.25g(42.0mmol)、1,3-ビス(4-アミノフェノキシ)プロパンを5.4239g(21.0mmol)加え、撹拌して溶解させた。この溶液を撹拌しながら(2,3-ジヒドロキシ-2-チオキソ-3-ベンゾオキサゾイル)ホスホン酸ジフェニルを16.91g(44.11mmol)添加し、更にNMPを25.81g加え、水冷下で4時間反応させた。得られたポリアミド酸エステル溶液を1224gのメタノールに撹拌しながら投入し、析出した沈殿物をろ取し、続いて、408gのメタノールで4回洗浄し、乾燥することでポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末を得た。このポリアミック酸エステルの分子量はMn=15103、Mw=32483であった。
得られたポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末1.0172gを50ml三角フラスコに取り、NMPを9.4167g加え、室温で24時間撹拌し溶解させて、ポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-13)を得た。
(合成例25)
攪拌装置付きの300mL四つ口フラスコを窒素雰囲気とし、4,4’-ジアミノジフェニルメタンを5.0086g(25.26mmol)、1,5-ビス(4-アミノフェノキシ)ペンタンを1.8064g(6.31mmol)入れ、NMPを272g、塩基としてピリジンを5.69g(71.88mmol)加え、攪拌して溶解させた。次にこのジアミン溶液を攪拌しながら1,3DM-CBDE-Clを9.7356g(29.94mmol)添加し、水冷下4時間反応させた。得られたポリアミック酸エステルの溶液を1436gの純水に攪拌しながら投入し、析出した白色沈殿をろ取し、続いて1436gの純水で1回、1436gのエタノールで1回洗浄し、さらに386gのエタノールで3回洗浄し、乾燥することで白色のポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末を得た。このポリアミック酸エステルの分子量はMn=15205、Mw=30219であった。
得られたポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末11.89gを50ml三角フラスコにとり、NMPを107.01g加え、室温で24時間攪拌し溶解させて、ポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-14)を得た。
攪拌装置付きの200ml四つ口フラスコに2,5-ビス(メトキシカルボニル)テレフタル酸を3.7141g(13.16mmol)取り、NMPを72.31g加え、撹拌して溶解させた。続いて、トリエチルアミンを0.71g(7.01mmol)、3-アミノベンジルアミンを1.7112g(14.01mmol)加え、撹拌して溶解させた。この溶液を撹拌しながら4-(4,6-ジメトキシ-1,3,5-トリアジン-2-イル)-4-メチルモルホリニウムクロリド(15±2重量%水和物)を11.6258g添加し、更にNMPを12.91g加え、水冷下で4時間反応させた。得られたポリアミド酸エステル溶液を616gのメタノールに撹拌しながら投入し、析出した沈殿物をろ取し、続いて、616gのメタノールで4回洗浄し、乾燥することでポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末を得た。このポリアミック酸エステルの分子量はMn=7234、Mw=15577であった。
得られたポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末1.1325gを50ml三角フラスコに取り、NMPを10.1925g加え、室温で24時間撹拌し溶解させて、ポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-15)を得た。
(合成例27)
攪拌装置付きの300mL四つ口フラスコを窒素雰囲気とし、p-フェニレンジアミンを7.0100g(64.82mmol)入れ、NMPを108g、γ-BLを324g、塩基としてピリジンを11.55g(146mmol)加え、攪拌して溶解させた。次にこのジアミン溶液を攪拌しながら1,3DM-CBDE-Clを19.7838g(60.85mmol)添加し、水冷下4時間反応させた。得られたポリアミック酸エステルの溶液を1881gの2-プロパノールに攪拌しながら投入し、析出した白色沈殿をろ取し、続いて940gの2-プロパノールで5回洗浄し、乾燥することで白色のポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末を得た。このポリアミック酸エステルの分子量はMn=11325、Mw=24387であった。
得られたポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末1.2019gを50ml三角フラスコにとり、N,N-ジエチルホルムアミドを10.8171g加え、室温で24時間攪拌し溶解させて、ポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-16)を得た。
(合成例28)
撹拌装置付きの300mL四つ口フラスコを窒素雰囲気とし、4-アミノ-N-メチルフェネチルアミンを3.0144g(20.07mmol)を入れ、NMPを148.88g、塩基としてピリジンを4.65g(46.01mmol)加え、撹拌して溶解させた。次にこのジアミン溶液を撹拌しながら1,3DM-CBDE-Clを6.2390g(19.19mmol)添加し、水冷下4時間反応させた。得られたポリアミック酸エステルの溶液を、784gの水に撹拌しながら投入し、析出した白色沈殿をろ取し、続いて784gの水、196gの2-プロパノールで3回洗浄し、乾燥することで白色のポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末を得た。このポリアミック酸エステルの分子量はMn=8691、Mw=20311であった。
得られたポリアミック酸エステル樹脂粉末1.9144gを50ml三角フラスコにとり、NMPを17.2026g加え、室温で24時間撹拌し溶解させて、ポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-17)を得た。
(合成例29)
撹拌装置付き及び窒素導入管付きの100mL四つ口フラスコに、3,5-ジアミノ安息香酸を20.0838g(132.0mmol)及びDA-7を21.3254g(88.0mmol)取り、NMPを268.48g加えて、窒素を送りながら撹拌し溶解させた。このジアミン溶液を撹拌しながら1,2,3,4-シクロブタンテトラカルボン酸二無水物を42.4946g(216.7mmol)添加し、更に固形分濃度が20質量%になるようにNMPを加え、室温で24時間撹拌してポリアミック酸(PAA-5)の溶液を得た。このポリアミック酸溶液の温度25℃における粘度は2156mPa・sであった。また、このポリアミック酸の分子量はMn=18794、Mw=63387であった。
撹拌装置付き及び窒素導入管付きの100mL四つ口フラスコに、4,4’-ジアミノジフェニルアミンを3.5843g(17.99mmol)、DA-7を2.9064g(12.0mmol)取り、NMPを55.58g加えて、窒素を送りながら撹拌し溶解させた。このジアミン溶液を撹拌しながら1,2,3,4-シクロブタンテトラカルボン酸二無水物を5.7653g(29.40mmol)添加し、更に固形分濃度が15質量%になるようにNMPを加え、室温で24時間撹拌した。得られたポリアミック酸溶液の温度25℃における粘度は1269mPa・sであった。また、このポリアミック酸の分子量はMn=15559、Mw=43490であった。
更にこの溶液に3-グリシドキシプロピルメチルジエトキシシランを0.0368g加え、室温で24時間攪拌し、ポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-6)を得た。
(合成例31)
撹拌装置付き及び窒素導入管付きの100mL四つ口フラスコに、3,5-ジアミノ安息香酸を1.2133g(7.97mmol)、4,4’-ジアミノジフェニル-N-メチル-アミンを6.8216g(31.98mmol)取り、NMPを44.03g加えて、窒素を送りながら撹拌し溶解させた。このジアミン溶液を撹拌しながらBDAを7.1310g(36.0mmol)添加し、室温で2時間撹拌した。次に、NMPを14.62g加え、ピロメリット酸二無水物を0.8713g(3.99mmol)加えた。更に固形分濃度が18質量%になるようにNMPを加え、室温で24時間撹拌した。得られたポリアミック酸溶液の温度25℃における粘度は577mPa・sであった。また、このポリアミック酸の分子量はMn=12656、Mw=28487であった。
更にこの溶液に3-グリシドキシプロピルメチルジエトキシシランを0.0480g加え、室温で24時間攪拌し、ポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-7)を得た。
(合成例32)
撹拌装置付き及び窒素導入管付きの100mL四つ口フラスコに、3,5-ジアミノ安息香酸を3.6541g(24.02mmol)、1,4-ビス(4-アミノフェニル)ピペラジンを4.2931g(16.00mmol)取り、NMPを36.48g加えて、窒素を送りながら撹拌し溶解させた。このジアミン溶液を撹拌しながらBDAを4.7522g(23.99mmol)添加し、室温で2時間撹拌した。次に、NMPを36.50g加え、ピロメリット酸二無水物を3.4084g(15.63mmol)加えた。更に固形分濃度が15質量%になるようにNMPを加え、室温で24時間撹拌した。得られたポリアミック酸溶液の温度25℃における粘度は1166mPa・sであった。また、このポリアミック酸の分子量はMn=19307、Mw=42980であった。
さらにこの溶液に3-グリシドキシプロピルメチルジエトキシシランを0.0483g加え、室温で24時間攪拌し、ポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-8)を得た。
(合成例33)
撹拌装置付き及び窒素導入管付きの100mL四つ口フラスコに、3,5-ジアミノ安息香酸を3.6536g(24.01mmol)、DA-7を3.8715g(15.98mmol)取り、NMPを31.75g加えて、窒素を送りながら撹拌し溶解させた。このジアミン溶液を撹拌しながらBDAを3.9621g(20.0mmol)添加し、室温で2時間撹拌した。次に、NMPを25.42g加え、1,2,4,5-シクロヘキサンテトラカルボン酸二無水物を4.4776g(19.97mmol)加えた。更に固形分濃度が20質量%になるようにNMPを加え、室温で24時間撹拌した。得られたポリアミック酸溶液の温度25℃における粘度は417mPa・sであった。また、このポリアミック酸の分子量はMn=13291、Mw=54029であった。
更にこの溶液に3-グリシドキシプロピルメチルジエトキシシランを0.0476g加え、室温で24時間攪拌し、ポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-9)を得た。
撹拌装置付き及び窒素導入管付きの100mL四つ口フラスコに、3,5-ジアミノ安息香酸を2.7365g(17.99mmol)、2,2’-ジメチルー4,4’-ジアミノビフェニルを2.5471g(12.0mmol)取り、NMPを27.32g加えて、窒素を送りながら撹拌し溶解させた。このジアミン溶液を撹拌しながらビシクロ[3.3.0]オクタン-2,4,6,8-テトラカルボン酸二無水物を2.2562g(9・02mmol)加え、80℃で3時間撹拌した。反応溶液を室温まで冷却した後、NMPを27.32g加え、ピロメリット酸二無水物を4.5715g(20.96mmol)加えた。更に固形分濃度が15質量%になるようにNMPを加え、室温で24時間撹拌した。得られたポリアミック酸溶液の温度25℃における粘度は2190mPa・sであった。また、このポリアミック酸の分子量はMn=23632、Mw=56881であった。
更にこの溶液に3-グリシドキシプロピルメチルジエトキシシランを0.0360g加え、室温で24時間攪拌し、ポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-10)を得た。
(合成例35)
撹拌装置付き及び窒素導入管付きの100mL四つ口フラスコに、3,5-ジアミノ安息香酸を6.0854g(40.0mmol)取り、NMPを65.56g加えて、窒素を送りながら撹拌し溶解させた。このジアミン溶液を撹拌しながらピロメリット酸二無水物を8.5449g(39.18mmol)添加し、更に固形分濃度が15質量%になるようにNMPを加え、室温で24時間撹拌した。得られたポリアミック酸溶液の温度25℃における粘度は523mPa・sであった。また、このポリアミック酸の分子量はMn=20565、Mw=47912であった。
さらにこの溶液に0.3質量%3-グリシドキシプロピルメチルジエトキシシランのNMP溶液を13.79g加え、ポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-11)を得た。
(合成例36)
撹拌装置付き及び窒素導入管付きの100mL四つ口フラスコに、4,4’-ジアミノジフェニルエーテルを3.2080g(16.02mmol)、DA-7を5.8147(24.0mmol)取り、NMPを60.42g加えて、窒素を送りながら撹拌し溶解させた。このジアミン溶液を撹拌しながら1,2,3,4-シクロブタンテトラカルボン酸二無水物を7.7658g(39.60mmol)添加し、更に固形分濃度が20質量%になるようにNMPを加え、室温で24時間撹拌した。得られたポリアミック酸溶液の温度25℃における粘度は1972mPa・sであった。また、このポリアミック酸の分子量はMn=15159、Mw=38251であった。
更にこの溶液に3-グリシドキシプロピルメチルジエトキシシランを0.0504g加え、室温で24時間攪拌し、ポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-12)を得た。
(合成例37)
撹拌装置付き及び窒素導入管付きの100mL四つ口フラスコに、3,5-ジアミノ安息香酸を2.4301g(15.97mmol)、DA-8を9.4204g(24.0mmol)取り、NMPを44.60g加えて、窒素を送りながら撹拌し溶解させた。このジアミン溶液を撹拌しながらBDAを4.7505g(23.98mmol)添加し、室温で2時間撹拌した。次に、NMPを44.59g加え、1,2,3,4-シクロブタンテトラカルボン酸二無水物を3.1054g(15.84mmol)加えた。更に固形分濃度が15質量%になるようにNMPを加え、室温で24時間撹拌した。得られたポリアミック酸溶液の温度25℃における粘度は802mPa・sであった。また、このポリアミック酸の分子量はMn=13261、Mw=32578であった。
更にこの溶液に3-グリシドキシプロピルメチルジエトキシシランを0.0590g加え、室温で24時間攪拌し、ポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-13)を得た。
撹拌装置付き及び窒素導入管付きの100mL四つ口フラスコに、3,5-ジアミノ安息香酸を3.6504g(23.69mmol)、DA-7を3.8718g(15.98mmol)取り、NMPを68.6g加えて、窒素を送りながら撹拌し溶解させた。このジアミン溶液を撹拌しながらDAH-1を11.5387g(39.21mmol)添加した。更に固形分濃度が20質量%になるようにNMPを加え、室温で24時間撹拌した。得られたポリアミック酸溶液の温度25℃における粘度は736mPa・sであった。また、このポリアミック酸の分子量はMn=10091、Mw=19511であった。
更にこの溶液に3-グリシドキシプロピルメチルジエトキシシランを0.0572g加え、室温で24時間攪拌し、ポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-14)を得た。
(合成例39)
撹拌装置付き及び窒素導入管付きの100mL四つ口フラスコに、3,5-ジアミノ安息香酸を3.6603g(24.06mmol)、1,3-ビス(4-アミノフェネチル)ウレアを4.7740g(16.0mmol)取り、NMPを28.59g加えて、窒素を送りながら撹拌し溶解させた。このジアミン溶液を撹拌しながらBDAを2.3782g(12.0mmol)添加し、室温で2時間撹拌した。次に、NMPを38.13g加え、ピロメリット酸二無水物を6.0903g(27.92mmol)加えた。更に固形分濃度が15質量%になるようにNMPを加え、室温で24時間撹拌した。得られたポリアミック酸溶液の温度25℃における粘度は744mPa・sであった。また、このポリアミック酸の分子量はMn=17771、Mw=38991であった。
更にこの溶液に3-グリシドキシプロピルメチルジエトキシシランを0.0505g加え、室温で24時間攪拌し、ポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-15)を得た。
(合成例40)
撹拌装置付き及び窒素導入管付きの100mL四つ口フラスコに、3,5-ジアミノ安息香酸を0.6123g(4.00mmol)、4,4-ジアミノジフェニルアミンを3.199g(16.06mmol)取り、NMPを19.64g加えて、窒素を送りながら撹拌し溶解させた。このジアミン溶液を撹拌しながらBDAを3.1780g(16.04mmol)添加し、室温で2時間撹拌した。次に、NMPを8.93g加え、ピロメリット酸二無水物を0.8736g(4.01mmol)加えた。更に固形分濃度が18質量%になるようにNMPを加え、室温で24時間撹拌した。得られたポリアミック酸溶液の温度25℃における粘度は8100mPa・sであった。また、このポリアミック酸の分子量はMn=22537、Mw=72601であった。
更にこの溶液に3-グリシドキシプロピルメチルジエトキシシランを0.0235g加え、室温で24時間攪拌し、ポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-16)を得た。
(合成例41)
撹拌装置付き及び窒素導入管付きの100mL四つ口フラスコに、3,5-ジアミノ安息香酸を3.6516g(24.0mmol)、4-アミノ-N-メチルフェネチルアミンを2.4070g(16.02mmol)を取り、NMPを66.21g加えて、窒素を送りながら撹拌し溶解させた。このジアミン溶液を撹拌しながらピロメリット酸二無水物を8.5972g(39.42mmol)加えた。更に固形分濃度が15質量%になるようにNMPを加え、室温で24時間撹拌した。得られたポリアミック酸溶液の温度25℃における粘度は488mPa・sであった。また、このポリアミック酸の分子量はMn=13205、Mw=33511であった。
さらにこの溶液に3-グリシドキシプロピルメチルジエトキシシランを0.0438g加え、室温で24時間攪拌し、ポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-17)を得た。
撹拌装置付き及び窒素導入管付きの100mL四つ口フラスコに、3,5-ジアミノ安息香酸を3.6532g(24.01mmol)、DA-7を3.8790g(16・01mmol)取り、NMPを70.32g加えて、窒素を送りながら撹拌し溶解させた。このジアミン溶液を撹拌しながらDAH-2を12.0709g(39.41mmol)添加した。更に固形分濃度が20質量%になるようにNMPを加え、室温で24時間撹拌した。得られたポリアミック酸溶液の温度25℃における粘度は207mPa・sであった。また、このポリアミック酸の分子量はMn=5269、Mw=12875であった。
更にこの溶液に3-グリシドキシプロピルメチルジエトキシシランを0.0586g加え、室温で24時間攪拌し、ポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-18)を得た。
(実施例18)
50ml三角フラスコに撹拌子を入れ、合成例14で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-3)を3.6139g、合成例29で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-5)を2.7012g取り、NMPを5.7093g、BCSを3.01g、更にイミド化促進剤として4-(t-ブトキシカルボニルアミノ)ピリジン(以下、Boc-APと略す)を0.1284g加えて、マグネチックスターラーで30分攪拌し、液晶配向剤(I-1)を得た。
(実施例19)
50ml三角フラスコに撹拌子を入れ、合成例15で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-4)を2.4040g、合成例30で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-6)を2.4687g取り、NMPを3.2072g、BCSを2.0348g、更にイミド化促進剤としてBoc-APを0.0542g加えて、マグネチックスターラーで30分攪拌し、液晶配向剤(I-2)を得た。
(実施例20)
50ml三角フラスコに撹拌子を入れ、合成例15で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-4)を2.4548g、合成例31で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-6)を2.0213g取り、NMPを3.6200g、BCSを2.0116g加え、更にイミド化促進剤としてBoc-APを0.0415g加えて、マグネチックスターラーで30分攪拌し、液晶配向剤(I-3)を得た。
50ml三角フラスコに撹拌子を入れ、合成例16で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-5)を2.4232g、合成例33で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-9)を2.4189g取り、NMPを3.2928g、BCSを2.0272g、更にイミド化促進剤としてN-α-(9-フルオレニルメトキシカルボニル)-N-t-ブトキシカルボニル-L-ヒスチジン(以下、Fmoc-Hisと略す)を0.0416g加えて、マグネチックスターラーで30分攪拌し、液晶配向剤(I-4)を得た。
(実施例22)
50ml三角フラスコに撹拌子を入れ、合成例16で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-5)を2.4232g、合成例33で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-9)を1.8681g取り、NMPを3.6548g、BCSを2.0158g、更にイミド化促進剤としてFmoc-Hisを0.0372g加えて、マグネチックスターラーで30分攪拌し、液晶配向剤(I-5)を得た。
(実施例23)
50ml三角フラスコに撹拌子を入れ、合成例17で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-6)を2.4356g、合成例34で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-10)を2.5278g取り、NMPを3.2644g、BCSを2.0366g、更にイミド化促進剤としてFmoc-Hisを0.0550g加えて、マグネチックスターラーで30分攪拌し、液晶配向剤(I-6)を得た。
(50ml三角フラスコに撹拌子を入れ、合成例18で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-7)を2.4012g、合成例35で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-11)を2.4115g取り、NMPを2.6514g、BCSを2.0052g、加えて、マグネチックスターラーで30分攪拌し、液晶配向剤(II-1)を得た。
50ml三角フラスコに撹拌子を入れ、合成例18で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-7)を2.4130g、合成例35で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-11)を2.4216g取り、NMPを2.6780g、BCSを2.0198g、更に架橋剤として多官能エポキシ化合物である(AD-1)の20質量%NMP溶液を0.3062g加えて、マグネチックスターラーで30分攪拌し、液晶配向剤(II-2)を得た。
(実施例26)
50ml三角フラスコに撹拌子を入れ、合成例15で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-4)を2.4302g、合成例36で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-12)を1.8678g取り、NMPを3.8086g、BCSを2.0060g加えて、マグネチックスターラーで30分攪拌し、液晶配向剤(II-3)を得た。
(実施例27)
50ml三角フラスコに撹拌子を入れ、合成例15で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-4)を2.4144g、合成例36で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-12)を1.8062g取り、NMPを3.8184g、BCSを2.0168g、更に架橋剤として多官能ヒドロキシ基含有化合物である(AD-2)を0.040g加えて、マグネチックスターラーで30分攪拌し、液晶配向剤(II-4)を得た。
(実施例28)
50ml三角フラスコに撹拌子を入れ、合成例15で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-4)を2.4015g、合成例37で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-13)を1.8005g取り、NMPを3.8063g、BCSを2.0011g加えて、マグネチックスターラーで30分攪拌し、液晶配向剤(II-5)を得た。
(実施例29)
50ml三角フラスコに撹拌子を入れ、合成例19で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-8)を2.4120g、合成例38で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-14)を1.8389g取り、NMPを3.8639g、BCSを2.0181g加えて、マグネチックスターラーで30分攪拌し、液晶配向剤(II-6)を得た。
50ml三角フラスコに撹拌子を入れ、合成例19で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-8)を2.4120g、合成例38で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-14)を1.8389g取り、NMPを3.8639g、BCSを2.0181g、更に架橋剤として多官能シクロカーボネート化合物である(AD-4)を0.0318g加えて、マグネチックスターラーで30分攪拌し、液晶配向剤(II-7)を得た。
(実施例31)
50ml三角フラスコに撹拌子を入れ、合成例20で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-9)を1.2268g、合成例39で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-15)を3.2688g取り、NMPを3.6154g、BCSを2.0591g加えて、マグネチックスターラーで30分攪拌し、液晶配向剤(II-8)を得た。
(実施例32)
50ml三角フラスコに撹拌子を入れ、合成例21で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-10)を2.4236g、合成例40で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-16)を2.3539g取り、NMPを0.3782g、γ-BLを3.0639g、BCSを2.0178g加えて、マグネチックスターラーで30分攪拌し、液晶配向剤(II-9)を得た。
(実施例33)
50ml三角フラスコに撹拌子を入れ、合成例16で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-5)を4.2045g、合成例41で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-17)を1.2281g取り、NMPを2.6041g、BCSを2.0112g加えて、マグネチックスターラーで30分攪拌し、液晶配向剤(II-10)を得た。
(実施例34)
50ml三角フラスコに撹拌子を入れ、合成例22で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-11)を2.4195g、合成例29で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-5)を1.8484g取り、NMPを3.8069g、BCSを2.0204g加えて、マグネチックスターラーで30分攪拌し、液晶配向剤(II-11)を得た。
50ml三角フラスコに撹拌子を入れ、合成例17で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-6)を2.4176g、合成例42で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-18)を2.0148g取り、NMPを3.8182g、BCSを2.0129g加えて、マグネチックスターラーで30分攪拌し、液晶配向剤(II-12)を得た。
(実施例36)
50ml三角フラスコに撹拌子を入れ、合成例17で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-6)を2.3987g、合成例42で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-18)を2.1543g取り、NMPを3.8130g、BCSを2.0374g、更に架橋剤として多官能オキセタン化合物である(AD-3)を0.0460g加えて、マグネチックスターラーで30分攪拌し、液晶配向剤(I-13)を得た。
50ml三角フラスコに撹拌子を入れ、合成例23で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-12)を7.2164g、合成例29で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-5)を2.7470g取り、NMPを2.1068g、BCSを3.0264g、更にイミド化促進剤としてBoc-APを0.1396g加えて、マグネチックスターラーで30分攪拌し、液晶配向剤(a-1)を得た。
(比較例18)
50ml三角フラスコに撹拌子を入れ、合成例24で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-13)を2.4504g、合成例30で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-6)を2.4805g取り、NMPを3.2447g、BCSを2.0226g、更にイミド化促進剤としてBoc-APを0.0547g加えて、マグネチックスターラーで30分攪拌し、液晶配向剤(a-2)を得た。

50ml三角フラスコに撹拌子を入れ、合成例24で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-13)を2.4264g、合成例36で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-12)を1.8157g取り、NMPを3.8352g、BCSを2.0448g加えて、マグネチックスターラーで30分攪拌し、液晶配向剤(b-3)を得た。
(比較例23)
50ml三角フラスコに撹拌子を入れ、合成例28で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-17)を1.2049g、合成例39で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-15)を3.2102g取り、NMPを3.6342g、BCSを2.0694g加えて、マグネチックスターラーで30分攪拌し、液晶配向剤(b-9)を得た。
(比較例24)
50ml三角フラスコに撹拌子を入れ、合成例27で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-16)を2.4025g、合成例40で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-16)を2.2514g取り、NMPを0.3792g、γ-BLを3.0007g、BCSを2.0015g加えて、マグネチックスターラーで30分攪拌し、液晶配向剤(b-10)を得た。
50ml三角フラスコに撹拌子を入れ、合成例25で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-14)を4.2242g、合成例41で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-17)を1.2473g取り、NMPを2.6481g、BCSを2.0664g加えて、マグネチックスターラーで30分攪拌し、液晶配向剤(b-11)を得た。
(比較例26)
50ml三角フラスコに撹拌子を入れ、合成例26で得られたポリアミック酸エステル溶液(PAE-15)を2.4260g、合成例42で得られたポリアミック酸溶液(PAA-18)を2.2122g取り、NMPを3.8118g、BCSを2.0585g加えて、マグネチックスターラーで30分攪拌し、液晶配向剤(b-13)を得た。
実施例18で得られた液晶配向剤(I-1)を1.0μmのフィルターで濾過した後、透明電極付きガラス基板上にスピンコートし、温度80℃のホットプレート上で5分間の乾燥、温度230℃の温風循環式オーブンで20分間の焼成を経て膜厚100nmのイミド化した膜を得た。このイミド化した膜について、中心線平均粗さ(Ra)を測定した。測定結果については、後述する表4に示す。
(実施例38~52及び比較例27~35)
上記実施例19、22、24~27、29~36、及び比較例17~19、21~26で得られたそれぞれの液晶配向剤を用いた以外は、実施例37と同様の方法で各塗膜を形成させた。各塗膜の膜表面をAFMにて観察した。また、各塗膜について、中心線平均粗さ(Ra)を測定した。これらの測定結果を後述する表4に示す。

Claims (14)
- 下記(A)成分と(B)成分を含有することを特徴とする液晶配向剤。
(A)成分:下記式(1)で表される繰り返し単位を有し、且つ、下記(i)~(iii)のいずれかの条件を満たすポリアミック酸エステル。
(i) 式(1)のX1、Y1又はその両方が下記式(2)及び(3)からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種類の構造の1価又は2価の置換基を有している。
(ii) 式(1)のA1、A2又はその両方が下記式(2)及び(3)からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種類の構造の1価又は2価の置換基を有している。
(iii) 式(1)のX1、Y2又はその両方が下記式(2)及び(3)からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種類の構造の1価又は2価の置換基を有し、且つ、A1、A2又はその両方が下記式(2)及び(3)からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種類の構造の1価又は2価の置換基を有している。
(B)成分:下記式(4)で表される繰り返し単位を有するポリアミック酸。
- (A)成分の含有量と(B)成分の含有量が、質量比(A/B)にて、1/9~9/1である請求項1に記載の液晶配向剤。
- (A)成分と(B)成分の合計含有量が、有機溶媒に対して、1~10質量%である請求項1又は2に記載の液晶配向剤。
- 保護基D1が、tert-ブトキシカルボニル基及び9-フルオレニルメトキシカルボニル基からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種類の基である請求項1~3のいずれかに記載の液晶配向剤。
- 保護基D2が、tert-ブチル基である請求項1~4のいずれかに記載の液晶配向剤。
- (A)成分が、式(1)のY1の構造に式(5)及び(6)からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種類の構造の置換基を有しているポリアミック酸エステルである請求項1~6のいずれかに記載の液晶配向剤。
- (A)成分が、式(1)のA1、A2又はその両方が式(5)及び(6)からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種類の構造の置換基を有するポリアミック酸エステルである請求項1~7のいずれかに記載の液晶配向剤。
- 請求項1~12のいずれかに記載の液晶配向剤を塗布、焼成して得られる液晶配向膜。
- 請求項1~12のいずれかに記載の液晶配向剤を塗布、焼成し、さらに偏光された紫外線を照射して得られる液晶配向膜。
