Abstract

Un método para mejorar rasgos relacionados con el rendimiento y/o aumentar las diferentes características de crecimiento de las plantas mediante la modulación de expresión en una planta de un ácido nucleico que codifica un GRP (proteína de regulación de crecimiento). La GRP se selecciona de una proteína que comprende el dominio LOB (LOB: Limites de Órganos Laterales), en a presente abreviada como polipéptido LBD, un polipéptido JMJC (JUMONJI-C), un polipéptido CKI (caseína quinasa I), una proteína tipo bHLH11 (Hélice-bucle-Hélice básica 11), un polipéptido de homeodominio vegetal homeodominio de dedo (PHDf-HD), un polipéptido ASR (inducido por ácido abscísico, estrés y maduración) y/o un polipéptido del factor de transcripción de la proteína tipo 11 de unión al promotor Squamosa (SPL11). La presente invención se refiere también a plantas que tienen expresión modulada de un ácido nucleico que codifica una GRP, cuyas plantas tienen características de crecimiento mejoradas en relación a las correspondientes plantas de tipo silvestre u otras plantas de control. La invención también provee ácidos nucleicos GPR y polipéptidos GPR novedosos, así como construcciones útiles en los métodos de la invención.
