Abstract

En el campo de la biología molecular, un método para mejorar características de crecimiento en plantas con respecto a las correspondientes plantas de tipo silvestre. Más específicamente, a un método para incrementar el rendimiento en plantas cultivadas en condiciones de disponibilidad reducida de nutrientes, con respecto a las correspondientes plantas de tipo silvestre, que comprende modular la expresión en una planta de una secuencia de ácidos nucleicos que codifica un polipéptido hox5 de cierre de leucina-homeodominio de clase 1 (HDZip) o un homólogo de éste.
