このように、上述からわかるように、センサずれ検出器30は、数式5及び6を実行することによって、センサが故障しているかを検出することができ、これはすべてプロセス変数トランスミッタ10内部に組み込まれたコンポーネントによって行われる。これは、それぞれの新しいデータポイントを有する多数のプロセスを必要とし、さらには平均化すること、傾向線を算出すること、多くのあらかじめ修正されたサンプル全体にわたる傾向から理論値を検証すること、及び多くの自乗及び平方根等の複雑な数値演算を用いることを含むSe数式を用いることに代えて、センサずれ検出器30が、新しいセンサ入力値を前の値の移動平均と比較することによって動作し、ずれ値に対しても同じことを行うためである。これは、プロセッサオーバヘッド及び時間の観点ではほとんど消費されないが、それでもなおセンサ故障を検出するためにホストシステムによって用いられるものと同様の特性を提供する。このように、センサ劣化及び故障は、ホストシステム20での算出の必要なく、プロセス変数トランスミッタ10自体の内部で検出されることができる。
Claims (20)
- プロセス変数を検知し、検知されたプロセス変数を示すセンサ値を提供するセンサに結合されるプロセス変数トランスミッタであって、
先に受信されたセンサ値に基づいて算出されたフィルタリングされたセンサ値と、先の変化率値に基づいて算出されたフィルタリングされた変化率値とを記憶するメモリと、
プロセス変数を検知するセンサからセンサ値を受信し、センサ値を、フィルタリングされたセンサ値と比較して変化率値を得るプロセッサであって、さらに、変化率値を、フィルタリングされた変化率値と比較してずれ値を得て、ずれ値に基づいたセンサに関する出力表示を生成するプロセッサと、
を含む、プロセス変数トランスミッタ。 - 通信リンクを経由して、ホストシステムにセンサ故障又は劣化警告としての出力表示を提供する出力コンポーネントをさらに含む、請求項1記載のプロセス変数トランスミッタ。
- 出力コンポーネントが、プロセス制御ループを経由して出力されるセンサ故障警告を提供する、請求項2記載のプロセス変数トランスミッタ。
- プロセッサが、先に受信されたセンサ値の移動平均を生成することによって、フィルタリングされたセンサ値を算出する、請求項1記載のプロセス変数トランスミッタ
- プロセッサが、センサ値及びフィルタリングされたセンサ値に基づいて更新されたフィルタリングされたセンサ値を生成し、更新されたフィルタリングされたセンサ値を、フィルタリングされたセンサ値としてメモリに記憶する、請求項4記載のプロセス変数トランスミッタ。
- プロセッサが、先の変化率値の移動平均を生成することによって、フィルタリングされた変化率値を算出する、請求項5記載のプロセス変数トランスミッタ。
- プロセッサが、変化率値及びフィルタリングされた変化率値に基づいて更新されたフィルタリングされた変化率値を生成し、更新されたフィルタリングされた変化率値を、フィルタリングされた変化率値としてメモリに記憶する、請求項6記載のプロセス変数トランスミッタ。
- プロセッサが、複数の異なるセンサから複数のセンサ値を受信し、複数のセンサ値のそれぞれに対応する変化率値を得る、請求項1記載のプロセス変数トランスミッタ。
- プロセッサが、複数のセンサ値のそれぞれの特性を互いに比較し、特性が、互いに対して予測された関係を呈するかを判断する、請求項8記載のプロセス変数トランスミッタ。
- プロセッサが、式
に従って、センサ値を、フィルタリングされたセンサ値と比較し、ここで、

プロセス変数トランスミッタ内のプロセッサにおいて、プロセス変数を検知するセンサからプロセス変数を示すセンサ値を受信することと、
プロセス変数トランスミッタ内のプロセッサによって、受信したセンサ値を、プロセス変数トランスミッタ内のメモリに記憶されたセンサ値と比較することであって、記憶されたセンサ値が、複数の先に受信されたセンサ値を示し、変化率を決定することと、
前記センサ内の変化率値とメモリ内に記憶された前のセンサ値の変化率を比較してずれ値を決定することと、
プロセス変数トランスミッタ内のプロセッサによって、前記ずれ値に基づいてセンサが正しく動作しているかを示すセンサ特性を特定することと、
センサが正しく動作していない場合、プロセス変数トランスミッタ内のプロセッサによって、出力表示を生成することと、
を含む、方法。 - プロセス変数トランスミッタ内のプロセッサを用いてセンサ信号の特性を特定する方法であって、
プロセス変数トランスミッタ内のプロセッサにおいて、プロセス変数を検知するセンサからセンサ値を受信することと、
プロセス変数トランスミッタ内のプロセッサによって、センサ値を、プロセス変数トランスミッタ内のメモリに記憶されたセンサ値と比較することであって、記憶されたセンサ値が、複数の先に受信されたセンサ値を示すことと、
プロセス変数トランスミッタ内のプロセッサによって、センサが正しく動作しているかを示すセンサ特性を、比較に基づいて特定することと、
センサが正しく動作していない場合、プロセス変数トランスミッタ内のプロセッサによって、センサに関する出力表示を生成することと、
を含み、
前記比較が、変化率値を生成し、
プロセス変数トランスミッタ内のプロセッサによって、プロセス変数トランスミッタ内のメモリに記憶された変化率値と比較することであって、記憶された変化率値が、複数の先の変化率値を示すことをさらに含み、
前記特定することが、プロセス変数トランスミッタ内のプロセッサによって、変化率値と記憶された変化率値との比較に基づいて、センサ特性を特定することを含む、方法。 - 記憶された変化率値が、互いに異なる値の複数の変化率値を含み、変化率値を、記憶された変化率値と比較することが、
変化率値を、複数の変化率値のそれぞれと比較すること

- 複数の異なるセンサのそれぞれに対応するセンサ値を受信することと、
複数の異なるセンサに対応するセンサ値を比較することであって、特定することが、センサ特性を、センサ値が互いに対して関連する予測された関係を呈するかを示すとして特定することと、
を含む、請求項11又は12記載の方法。 - 出力表示を生成することが、複数の異なるセンサからのセンサ値が、予測された関係を呈しない場合にはセンサ警告出力を生成することを含む、請求項15記載の方法。
- センサ警告出力としての出力表示を、プロセス制御ループを経由してホストシステムに送信することをさらに含む、請求項11又は12記載の方法。
- センサ警告出力としての出力表示を、無線通信リンクを経由してホストシステムに送信することをさらに含む、請求項11又は12記載の方法。
- 複数の異なるセンサから入力されたセンサ値の変化率値のずれの間の予測された関係を示す既定のセンサ関係を記憶するメモリと、
プロセス制御トランスミッタ内部に配置され、複数の異なるセンサから入力されたセンサ値を受信するプロセッサであって、プロセッサが、メモリ内の既定のセンサの関係にアクセスして、入力されたセンサ値が予測された関係を呈するかを判断し、そうでない場合は、プロセッサがセンサ警告出力を生成する、プロセッサと、
を含む、プロセス変数トランスミッタ。 - 複数の異なるセンサが、すべて同じプロセス上の1又はそれ以上のプロセス変数を検知するように配置され、プロセッサが、第2のプロセス変数トランスミッタから入力されたセンサ値の少なくとも1つを受信する、請求項19記載のプロセス変数トランスミッタ。
