それで、単純に気筒数を用いることにより得られるものよりも、トルク発生能力の分解能を高めることが可能である。
これは、固定のバルブ・タイミングに基づくエンジン空気量推定値に燃料を合致させることにより始動される通常のエンジンとは対照的である。バルブ・タイミングと点火進角が、所望のトルクとエンジン空気量を発生するように、調整される。クランキング及び/又は始動中のトルクと空気量要求を満たすように、バルブ・タイミング及び/又はリフトを調整することにより、海抜にかかわらず、始動のたびにエンジンをアイドル速度まで一様に加速することができる。図17及び18は、海面と高度があるときでのエンジン始動を一様にするためのバルブ・タイミングの例を示す。
そして、ルーチンは、終了する。
ここで、mpは燃料溜りの質量であり、kは気筒イベント番号、τは時間定数、そしてTはサンプリング・タイムである。続く燃料溜り質量は、以下の式から判定される。
ここでΔmpは、気筒へ入る燃料溜りの質量である。所定の溜り質量又はルックアップ・テーブルから求められる溜り質量を、気筒へ入る燃料溜りの質量の代わりとすることもできる。
ルーチンは、そして終了する。
ルーチンがこのロジックを実行する度に、変数Rcl_degがインクリメントされる。この変数は、所定回数の試行が実行されたならば、ルーチンが軌跡外のバルブとそれが存在する気筒を休止するのを可能とする(ステップ3918及び3930)。ルーチンは、その変数をインクリメントした後で、終了する。
ここで、CL_cur_setはそのエンジン運転状態における電流ベクトルであり、vt_adjustはエンジン又はバルブの温度の関数であり、CL_base_setはベース電流量を持つベクトルであり、CL_adjustはそのエンジン運転状態における電流調整値のベクトルである。電流調整に続いて、ルーチンは終了する。
それから、ルーチンは終了する。

Claims (6)
- バルブ・タイミングが調整可能な多気筒内燃機関の少なくとも一つの気筒の排出量を低減する方法であって、
上記内燃機関を停止する要求に応答して、少なくとも一つの気筒の吸気開弁位置を遅角させる工程、及び
上記開弁位置の調整後、上記少なくとも一つの気筒の少なくとも一回の吸気行程の間、上記少なくとも一つの気筒を作動する工程を有する方法。 - 上記吸気開弁位置が、上記気筒の吸気行程の上死点後30〜180クランク角度である、請求項1の方法。
- 上記要求に応答して点火時期を調整する工程をさらに有する、請求項1又は2の方法。
- 上記点火時期の調整が、クランクシャフト位置に対して点火時期を遅角する、請求項3の方法。
- 上記内燃機関を停止する上記要求に応答して上記気筒に供給される燃料量を調整する工程をさらに有する、前記請求項1乃至4のうち何れか1項に記載の方法。
- 上記気筒の少なくとも一つの排気弁のタイミングを調整する工程をさらに有する、前記請求項1乃至5のうち何れか1項に記載の方法。
