Abstract

发明领域
本发明涉及具有保护特性,用做包装材料的热塑聚合物的组合物。此热塑防护材料的形态可以是防护涂层、柔韧膜、半刚性或刚性薄板、或刚性结构。热塑防护材料也可以是涂料的形式,此涂料是从基于水或溶剂的热塑膜形成成分的溶液或悬浮液来生产的,所述的成分之一为防护物生成材料。此种膜薄板或涂层材料可做为包括水汽、有机物如脂肪烃和芳香烃、脂肪和芳香卤代物、杂环化合物、醇、醛、胺、羧酸、酮、醚、酯、硫化物、硫醇、单体等等及有味品和香味品等许多渗透物的防护层。本发明的热塑防护组合物可以经挤压、层压或模塑成各种实用的膜、薄板。单层、双层或多层膜可进一步涂层、印刷或压纹。
发明背景
对用热塑组合物制造的膜、半刚性或刚性薄板以及刚性容器包装材料的发展已给予了许多关注。在这些应用中,聚合组合物优先作为防止各种渗透成分通过的防护物,以阻止包含物和渗透物之间的接触。改进防护性质是膜和热塑树脂生产商的一个重要目标。
防护特性来自结构和材料组成双方。结构序列(order ofstructure)(如,)、材料的结晶性或无定形性,层或涂层的存在都可影响防护特性。许多材料的防护特性可通过液体结晶或自我定序分子(self-ordering molecular)技术,通过象乙烯乙烯醇膜那样的轴向取向材料,或通过双轴取向的尼龙膜和通过使用其它有用的结构而得以提高。内部聚合物结构可以结晶或以某种方式定向(order)来提高对渗透物渗入的阻碍力。可以选择一种材料做为热塑聚合物或包装涂层,它阻止渗透物吸附到防护层表面。也可以选择材料来阻止渗透物透过防护层。已观察到符合Fick定律和非Fickian扩散的渗透。一般地,渗透依转移形式依赖于浓度和温度。
渗透过程可以描述成一多步事件。首先,渗透物分子与聚合物相互碰撞后被吸着在聚合物中。然后,经随机hop发生通过聚合母体的迁移,最后渗透物从聚合物中解吸着,完成全过程。此过程的发生是为了减少膜外部和包装内部间存在的化学浓度差。有机分子通过包装膜的渗透性包括两个组成部分,分子在膜中的扩散速率和溶解性。扩散速率测量分子通过膜迁移有多快。它影响渗透分子在膜中移动的难易。溶解性是对处于透膜迁移位置的渗透分子浓度的测量。扩散和溶解性是防护膜性能的重要量度。对渗透过包装膜的有机气体有两种质量迁移机制:毛细流动和活性扩散。毛细流动包括小分子渗透过针孔或多孔介质,在高强防护膜中,这当然不是一个期望的特征。称为活性扩散的第二种机制包括,在流入面使渗透物进入一有效的非多孔膜的增溶作用,在浓度梯度(高浓度到低浓度)下的透膜扩散,以及从流出面以低浓度释放。所以在非多孔聚合膜中,渗透物的质量迁移包括三个步骤--吸着、扩散和解吸着。吸着和解吸着依赖于渗透物在膜中的溶解度。气体被聚合物吸着的过程可被认为包括两个阶段:气体在聚合物上凝聚,随后凝聚气体的溶液进入聚合物。对一薄膜聚合物,渗透作用是物质在渗透物浓度梯度下透过膜的流动。渗透作用的驱动力就是膜两侧的渗透物压力差。有几个因素决定渗透物分子渗透过膜的能力:渗透物的体积、形状、化学性质、聚合物的物理和化学特性、以及渗透物与聚合物之间的相互作用。
做为本申请的渗透物是指以真实可测浓度存在于环境中并能透过已知聚合材料迁移的物质。大量的渗透物是已知的。这些渗透物包括水汽、芳香烃和脂肪烃、单体组合物和残留物,香味品,有味品,香料、烟、农药、毒性物质,等等。典型的防护材料包括聚合物的单层膜、双层共挤压或层压聚合物膜,在膜或薄板的单面或双面具有一层或多层涂层的涂敷的单层、双层或多层膜。
两类广泛用作食品包装的防护聚合物是乙烯乙烯醇共聚物(EVOH)、乙烯乙烯乙酸酯共聚物(EVA)和聚偏二氯乙烯(PVDC)。其它有用的热塑塑料有乙烯丙烯酸材料,包括乙烯丙烯酸、乙烯甲基丙烯酸,等等。此种聚合物是商业可得的并呈现出一些对气体、味道、香味、溶剂和多数化学物质的抵抗力。PVDC对湿气也是一个很好的防护物,而EVOH提供了非常好的加工性能并允许大量实用再研磨(regrind)的材料。EVOH共聚树脂一般在各种乙烯基浓度的广泛程度上被应用。当乙烯含量减少时,对气体、味道和溶剂的防护特性增加。EVOH树脂一般做为结构层用于与聚烯烃、尼龙或聚乙烯对苯二酸酯(PET)共挤压。商业上,无定形的尼龙树脂进一步被制成单层瓶或薄膜。象单层聚乙烯对苯二酸酯、聚甲基戊烯或聚偏二氯乙烯膜那样的中等防护聚合材料是可以得到的。
现在实质的注意指向用于提高防护特性的各种技术上。物理防护物和活性化学防护物或捕集物在包装材料中的使用正进行积极的研究。注意力特别集中于特殊共聚物和三元共聚物材料的使用、持殊聚合掺合物的使用、用于防护材料的改进涂层如硅金属、有机金属的使用,以及其它策略。
另一种重要的防护技术包括使用用于聚合涂层或本体聚合材料的氧吸附剂或清除剂。金属还原剂如亚铁化合物、粉末氧化物或金属铂可以掺入到防护系统。这些系统通过在膜内把氧转变成稳定的氧化物来清除氧。已发展了非金属的氧清除剂,目的是减轻与金属或含金属物的味道或气味有关的问题。这样的系统包括含抗坏血酸(维生素C)和其盐的化合物。近来的介绍包括对氧具有自身吸附力的有机金属分子。此分子把氧分子吸附到聚合物化学结构的内部,将氧从包装材料的内部或其封闭空间去除掉。
包装科学家正在继续开发新的聚合膜、涂膜、聚合物混合物等,利用材料的掺合物获得更高的防护特性。这些系统中许多已经获得了某种程度的利用,但是由于各种因素,包括不能以低价格获得防护性能,这些系统还没有取得实质上的商业成功。
在寻找聚合物掺合物或复合聚合材料中产生了与膜的物理性质有关的问题。膜必须保持实质的透明度、拉伸强度、抗渗透、撕裂抗力等,以在包装材料中保持实用。在膜挤压成形前向热塑塑料中掺合相异的材料常常导致膜特性的实质降低。发现用于聚合物混合物的相容聚合材料,以及用于聚合材料的相容添加剂,典型地需要相容性的经验证明,并且不遵从一个清晰完善的理论。但是,用常规测试方法表明混合材料获得改善的防护特性,而在透明度、加工性能和结构性质方面几乎没有变化,从而可证明相容性。因此,能够掺入聚合材料形成具有优良的防护特性而结构性质没有实质变化的包装用热塑塑料的开发是实际需要的。
发明简要讨论
我发现通过在聚合物中用分散的相容环糊精衍生物形成防护层,可以改善热塑聚合物的防护特性,而在透明度、加工性能或结构性质上没有任何重要的降低。我已研制了两个实施方案。第一种包括用含有环糊精衍生物的热塑技术制造一种防护层。第二种为通过流延膜形成聚合物或聚合物形成材料与环糊精衍生物混合的悬浮液或溶液制得一种涂层以形成防护层。没有相容取代基的环糊精分子不能在大量材料中充分相容形成透明的有用防护层或包装材料。相容环糊精衍生物为一种实质上无包含复合物的化合物。对本发明术语“实质上无包含复合物”意味着膜中分散的环糊精衍生物的数量含有大部分的在环糊精分子内部无渗入物的环糊精环。加入的环糊精化合物应无复合物,但在生产过程中,由于聚合物降解或由于油墨或涂层成分,可能出现某些复合物。环糊精的内部空穴保持未被任何复合分子占据。
环糊精衍生物具有一个与环糊精分子键合的取代基团,此取代基团与聚合材料是相容的。环糊精是一个环状葡聚糖分子,分子中有六个或更多个葡萄糖单元。优选α-环糊精(αCD)、β-环糊精(βCD)、γ-环糊精(γCD)及它们的混合物。我们发现,环糊精分子的衍生化对形成环糊精材料是必须的,能使之有效地掺入到热塑主体聚合材料中,而不造成透明度、加工性能、结构或包装性能的丧失。环糊精分子上的取代基要选择成分、结构和极性与聚合物相匹配的,以保证环糊精在聚合材料中充分相容。进一步,选择能够掺入热塑聚合物中的衍生的环糊精,且通过采用常规热塑塑料生产技术可形成膜、半刚性或刚性薄板或其它的刚性结构。最后,我们发现,环糊精材料能够用于形成这样的热塑防护结构,而在结构性能上没有任何实质降低。此膜对来自聚合母体和产品贮存,以及使用环境的污染物质提供了一个捕集物或障碍物。生产包装膜材料的热塑聚合物是用由精炼所得的可聚合单体制造的典型产品。用于聚合化学的任何精炼工序含有做为聚合母体杂质的残留单体、微量水平的精制烃、催化剂和催化剂副产物。而且生产后材料包装的环境,贮存和使用常常含有大量的污染物,该污染物能渗透过防护膜或薄板并污染食品或其它被包装物品。残留聚合挥发物通过用挤压机把环糊精分散到熔融的膜聚合物中而被复合。驻留时间或CD与熔融聚合物在挤压机桶内的混合时间启动残留聚合挥发物的复合。随着环境的污染物扩散过聚合物,在聚合物分散的未复合环糊精被认为不仅驻留在聚合分子链之间,而且驻留在不明确的聚合链间空穴中。由于渗透物经弯曲途径扩散透过聚合物,当它们扩散透过膜时,未复合的环糊精能够复合渗透物分子。相同渗透物在膜中的环糊精分子间的一些连续的复合和释放是可能的。换句话说,是膜内的环糊精在复合和释放。由于环糊精存在而造成的空穴的数目和体积,使扩散速率会增加。改性的环糊精优选具有与聚合物相容的化学性质,并且具有不对膜的防护性能产生有害影响的体积和形状。
环糊精的有益效应高于其它高防护膜技术的两倍。首先,环糊精有复合在所有聚乙烯和聚丙烯包装膜中固有的残留有机挥发性污染物的能力。其次,环糊精提供了特有的复合渗透物的能力,否则此渗透物可以分散入包装膜—改善产品质量和安全性。
由于所有的包装膜对有机气体是可渗透的,测定渗透物透过膜的数量与时间的关系是特殊包装膜的一个重要性能测试。对低水活性包装食品产品(饼干,甜点心,谷类食品),以上描述的渗透过程要快。根据包装外部的相对湿度和产品的贮存温度,渗透的过程可以加快或减慢。随着包装外部相对湿度的增加,包装内部与外部之间的压力差加大。差别越大和/或温度越高,有机渗透物扩散透过膜越快。本研究用于测试膜样品的方法是用最坏情况(包装外60%相对湿度和包装内部0.25水活性)的贮藏寿命条件,以加速测试的结果。从污染了用于在包装材料上印刷的油墨,用于聚合物或纸或箔衬层的粘合系统,或来自汽油、柴油燃料、涂层溶剂、清洁材料、产品香味、食品等的各种环境污染物的食品产品可获得所用的有机渗透物浓度。相对湿度,水活性以及渗透物浓度已经用来测定目前工业上使用的各种高防护膜。在高防护膜的性能中有四个重要参数。第一个是渗透物开始扩散透过包装壁所用时间,已知为“延迟时间”,第二个是渗透物扩散透过膜的速率,第三个是在给定时间内渗透物能够穿过膜的总数量,第四个是防护物对抗渗透物的效率。

我们也已发现,糊精衍生物在本发明的热塑材料中的包含物可以改善膜的其它性能,如表面张力、静态电荷性质和可以提高此防护材料对涂层和印刷的适应性的别的性能。环糊精衍生物材料可以被包含在大多数的热塑膜和薄板中。
发明的详细描述
膜
膜或薄板是热塑树脂的平的没有支撑的切面,其厚度比它的宽度和长度小得多。通常认为膜是0.25毫米(mm)或更少,典型地为0.01到20mm厚。薄板的范围可以从0.25mm到几厘米(cm),典型地为0.3到3mm厚。膜或薄板可以单独使用或通过层压、共挤压或涂敷与其它薄板、织物或结构单元联合使用。对本发明,术语“织物”包括膜、薄板、半刚性和刚性薄板以及形成的刚性单元。重要性能包括抗拉强度、伸张度、刚度、撕裂强度和抵抗性能;光学性能包括混浊度、透明度;化学抵抗性能如水吸收和包括水汽及其它渗透物在内的各种渗透物的转移;电学性能如绝缘常数;耐久性能包括收缩、裂缝、耐气候性,等等。
采用各种过程包括吹制热塑挤压,线性双轴定向膜挤压以及通过用熔融热塑树脂流延,单体或聚合物(水或有机溶剂)分散体系流延,将热塑材料成形为防护膜。这些方法是熟知的生产过程。以下为聚合热塑塑料中致使形成成功防护膜的特性。制造热塑聚合物的技术人员已经学会为热塑塑料的加工配制聚合物材料,特别是通过控制分子量终止使用操作(熔体指数已经被热塑工业选择为分子量的一种量度--熔体指数与分子量,密度和结晶性成反比)。吹制的热塑挤压聚烯烃(LDPE,LLDPE,HDPE)最常用于热塑聚合物,虽然聚丙烯,尼龙,腈类,PETG,和聚碳酸酯有时也用于制造吹制膜。聚烯烃典型地具有从0.2到3g/10min的熔体指数,约0.910到0.940g/cc的密度和从200000-500000范围的分子量。对于双轴取向的膜挤压,最经常使用的聚合物为主要基于聚乙烯和聚丙烯的烯烃(熔体指数从约0.4到4g/10min,分子量约200000-600000)。也可以使用聚酯和尼龙。对于流延,熔融热塑树脂或单体分散物典型地是由聚乙烯或聚丙烯制得的。偶尔,尼龙、聚酯和PVC也被流延。对于水基的丙烯酸氨基甲酸乙酯的辊轧涂层和PVDC等,在涂敷之前分散物被聚合至一种最佳的结晶性和分子量。
各种热塑材料被用于制造膜和薄板材。这些材料包括聚(丙烯腈-丁二烯-苯乙烯)共聚物,丙烯酸聚合物如聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯,聚正丁基丙烯酸酯,聚(乙烯-丙烯酸)共聚物,聚(乙烯-异丁烯酸酯)共聚物,等等;赛璐玢,纤维素包括乙酸纤维素,乙酸丙酸纤维素,乙酸丁酸纤维素和三乙酸纤维素,等等;含氟聚合物包括聚四氟乙烯(特氟隆),聚(乙烯-四氟乙烯)共聚物,(四氟乙烯-丙烯)共聚物,聚氟乙烯聚合物,等等;聚胺如尼龙6,尼龙6,6,等等;聚碳酸酯;聚酯如聚(乙烯-对苯二甲酸酯),聚(乙烯-1,4-萘二羧酸酯),聚(丁烯-对苯二甲酸酯);聚酰亚胺材料;聚乙烯材料包括低密度聚乙烯,线性低密度聚乙烯,高密度聚乙烯,高分子量高密度聚乙烯,等等;聚丙烯,双轴取向的聚丙烯;聚苯乙烯,双轴取向聚苯乙烯;乙烯基膜包括聚氯乙烯,(氯乙烯-乙酸乙烯酯)共聚物,聚偏二氯乙烯,聚乙烯醇,(氯乙烯-二氯乙烯)共聚物,特制膜包括聚砜,聚苯硫,聚苯氧,液体结晶聚酯,聚醚酮,聚乙烯醇缩丁醛,等等。
膜和薄板材料一般用包括熔融挤压,压延,溶液流延,以及化学再生法在内的热塑技术制造。在许多制造步骤中,使用一个轴向或双轴向步骤。大多数膜和薄板用熔融挤压技术制造。在熔融挤压中,材料在挤压机中加热高于其熔点,挤压机代表性的具有进料部分27,熔融区域28以及挤压部分29。熔融物引入狭缝模头,产生一个薄的平展型材,将该型材快速骤冷到固态并被定向。典型地挤压后的热聚合膜用空气流在滚筒或转筒上或用空气快速冷却。最终可用骤冷浴。热塑材料也可以吹制。热的熔化聚合物在图2的环形模头22中被挤压成管21。管中充入空气(见空气导管26)至一定的直径,这由期望的膜性能和实际操作的考虑来决定。当热的熔融聚合物从环形模头出现时,挤出的热管被空气扩充到其初始口直径的1.2或4倍。同时冷空气(见空气流20)冷却织物形成挤压的固体,其带有中空环形截面21。膜管在V-型架23内压扁并在架的末端被夹住(夹持辊24)以封住在这样形成的气泡内的空气。夹持辊24和25把膜从模头内拉出,保持压出管的连续生产。
我们发现,在双轴取向膜的制备以及吹制热塑膜的生产中,对于获得对本发明优良的膜渗透性或渗透物转移速率,熔融温度和模头温度对减少熔融断裂以及改善膜的非均一性(减少表面缺陷)是重要的。参考图2、在熔融区域28的熔融温度范围应从约390-420°F,优选395-415°F。挤压模头29的温度范围应从约400-435°F,优选410-430°F。挤压的聚合物可以用室温水浴或室温空气冷却。压出机可这样操作:保持生产速度,但聚合物可被充分加热以达到熔融或所需的模头温度。本发明膜在这样温度生产保证了环糊精材料在热塑熔融物中完全相容,不被高温所降解,并且制造出透明相容有用的防护膜。
常常两种热塑材料在共挤压过程被结合,来制造适合特殊产品用途的特制膜或薄板。处于熔体的两层或更多层中的两种或更多种聚合物类型,在共挤压模口被共压出,生成来自两层的具有多种特性的膜。通过在压出前掺合熔体中的材料或通过平行挤出不同热塑塑料,可以混合不同聚合物或树脂层。熔体呈薄层地流过模口到一个淬冷辊上,此薄膜被方便地加工并可以冷后取向。薄膜可含有多种添加剂,如抗氧化剂、热稳定剂、UV稳定剂、滑润剂、填料以及防粘剂。
本发明的防护层可以通过流延水性分散体系或溶剂分散体系或形成聚合物和环糊精衍生物膜的溶液来制备。水或溶剂为基质的材料可以通过通常得到的基于水或溶剂的商业可得的聚合物,聚合物分散体系,聚合物溶液或聚合物和一般的水或溶剂加工技术来形成。环糊精衍生物材料可以与这样的基于水或溶剂的分散体系或溶液结合以形成构成或容易构成涂层的膜。此防护层或防护涂层可用通常得到的涂层技术包括辊涂,刮薄板涂层,旋转涂层,等等来形成。同时涂层可被制备并从制备的表面上取下,通常涂层是在一热塑塑料或热固聚合物织物上形成,并保留在那里做为用于包装的聚合织物上的防护层。使用基本上相似载量的环糊精衍生物材料,可以用于薄膜板或其它结构层的同样的热塑聚合物材料来制造典型的涂料。形成膜的聚合物以及环糊精衍生物形成的防护层或防护涂层,可以被用作单一的涂层或被用在一种多涂层结构,它在结构膜的或薄板的单面或双面具有防护层或涂层,并能与其它涂层一起使用,包括印刷层、透明涂层以及在包装、食品包装、消费品包装上的其它常规层。
环糊精
本发明的热塑膜包含一种环糊精,其具有可以使环糊精材料与热塑聚合物相容的附着成分或取代基。对本发明,相容意味着环糊精材料能均一地分散到熔化聚合物,能保持捕集或复合渗透物或聚合物杂质的能力,并且能存在于聚合物中而不对聚合膜性能造成实质性地降低。通过测定聚合物性能如拉伸强度,抗撕裂性等,渗透物的渗透性或转移速率,表面光滑度,透明度等,可以测定相容性。不相容衍生物会造成聚合物性能实质性的降低,很高的渗透性或转移速率和表面不平的膜。定性的相容性检查可通过小批量(100g-1000g的热塑塑料和取代环糊精)制备得到。混合的材料在生产温度下挤压成直径为约1-5mm的线性丝状压出物。不相容的环糊精材料将不会在熔融物中均匀分散,并从挤压口压出压出物后,能立刻在透明的熔化聚合物中看到。我们已经发现不相容的环糊精可在挤压温度下降解并在挤压中产生特征的“焦面粉”气味。而且,我们还发现不相容的环糊精能在挤压物中引起可见的熔化裂痕,这可通过肉眼观测发现。最后,挤压物切成小片,抽样并用光学显微镜检查,以发现在热塑塑料基质中清晰可见的不相容环糊精。环糊精是一种环状寡糖,由至少六个吡喃葡萄糖单元通过α(1→4)连接起来。虽然已知多至12个葡萄糖单元的环糊精,三种最常见的具有6,7和8个单元的同系物(α环糊精,β环糊精和γ环糊精)已被使用。

寡糖环形成一个环面,象一个截成平面的圆锥,每个葡萄糖单元的一级羟基位于环面的窄端。二级吡喃葡萄糖羟基位于宽端。母核环糊精分子以及有用的衍生物可用下面的结构式表示(环碳示出常规编号),其中空键代表环状分子的剩余部分:其中R1和R2是一级和二级羟基。
环糊精分子在葡萄糖单元的6位上有一级羟基并在2和3位上有二级羟基,可与化学试剂反应。由于环糊精分子的几何形状以及环上取代基的化学性质,所有的羟基在反应性上不一样。然而,用小心有效的反应条件,环糊精分子能够反应得到所有羟基被一种单一的取代类型衍生的衍生化分子。此衍生物是一个过取代的环糊精。如果需要,也可以合成只在一级羟基取代或只在一个或两个二级羟基选择取代的带有选择的取代基的环糊精。而且带有两个不同取代基或三个不同取代基的衍生分子的直接合成也是可能的。这些取代基可以任意定位或指向一个特定羟基。对于本发明的目的,环糊精分子需要在分子上含有足够的热塑相容的取代基团,以保证环糊精材料能够均匀分散到热塑塑料中,并且形成透明的膜,薄板或刚性结构后不减损聚合物的物理性能。
除了所介绍的CD羟基上的取代基团,也可以用所有其它的分子修饰。别的糖分子可掺入到环糊精分子的环骨架。一级羟基可用SN2取代,可以形成氧化的二醛或酸基团用于与衍生基团进一步反应。二级羟基能反应并被消除,生成一个不饱和基团、可以向此不饱和基团上加入许多已知的能够加成或连接双键形成衍生分子的试剂。
而且,可以打开聚葡糖单元的一个或多个环氧来生成反应位点。这些或其它的技术可以用来在环糊精分子上引入使相容化的取代基团。
为生产带有与热塑聚合物相容的功能基团的衍生化环糊精材料,优选的制备方案包括在环糊精分子的一级羟基或二级羟基上进行反应。我们已广泛地发现,分子中可使用广范围的侧取代部分。这些衍生的环糊精分子包括乙酰化环糊精,烷基化环糊精,环糊精酯如甲苯磺酸酯,甲磺酸酯以及其它相关的硫衍生物,烃基-氨基环糊精,烷基膦酰基和烷基磷环糊精,咪唑基取代环糊精,吡啶取代环糊精,含有功能基的烃基硫环糊精,含功能基的硅取代环糊精,碳酸酯及碳酸酯取代的环糊精,羧酸及相关取代的环糊精等等。取代单元必须含有一个向被衍生材料提供相容性的区域。
能够用作使功能基团相容的酰基包括乙酰基,丙酰基,丁酰基,三氟乙酰基,苯甲酰基,丙烯酰基以及其它已知基团。在环糊精分子的一级或二级环羟基上生成这些基团涉及一些熟知的反应。酰化反应可用适当的酸酐,酰氯,以及已知的合成方法来进行。可制备全酰化的环糊精。而且,酰基基团取代了部分羟基的环糊精,可以用一种或两种其它功能基团取代其余羟基来制造。
环糊精材料也可以与烷基化试剂反应,生成烷基化的环糊精。采用充分的反应条件用烷化剂完全反应存在的羟基,烷基化基团能用来产生全烷基化的环糊精。而且,依赖于烷基化试剂,反应条件使用的环糊精分子,可以生产少于所有可得到的羟基被取代的环糊精。在生成烷基化环糊精中有用的烷基基团的典型例子有甲基,丙基,苯基,异丙基,叔丁基,烯丙基,三苯甲基,烷基苯基和其它一般烷基基团。可用常规的制备方法得到这些烷基基团,如羟基在合适的条件下与卤代烷反应,或与一烷基化的烷基硫酸酯反应剂反应。
甲苯磺酰基(4-甲基苯磺酰基),甲磺酰基(甲烷磺酰基)或别的相关烷基或芳基磺酰基形成试剂可用来生产用在热塑树脂中的相容化的环糊精分子。环糊精分子的一级羟基比二级羟基更容易反应。然而,事实上分子能够在任何位置上被取代生成有用的组合物。
上述含功能基团的磺酰基能用来使环糊精分子中任意一个葡萄糖单元的二级羟基或一级羟基被衍生化。反应可用磺酰氯试剂来进行,此试剂能有效地与一级或二级羟基反应。根据分子中需要取代的目标羟基的数目,以适当的摩尔比使用磺酰氯。对称的化合物(每一个取代的化合物具有单一的磺酰基单元)或非对称的化合物(用包括磺酰基衍生物在内的混合基团取代一级和二级羟基)两者都可用已知的反应条件制备。酰基或烷基一般由实验人员选择与磺酰基团一同使用。最后,可制得单取代环糊精,其中环中每单个葡萄糖单元含有一到三个磺酰取代基。环糊精分子的其余羟基保持不反应。
具有含侧基热塑聚合物之单元的环糊精的氨和其它叠氮衍生物可用于本发明的薄板,膜或容器。磺酰基衍生的环糊精分子,经过磺酸酯基被叠氮离子亲核取代,可用于从磺酰基取代的环糊精分子产生氨基衍生物。叠氮衍生物然后通过还原转换为取代的氨基化合物。已经生产了大量的这种叠氮或氨基环糊精衍生物。这些衍生物可以制成对称取代的氨基基团(这些衍生物具有两个或更多个氨基或叠氮基团,它们对称地位于环糊精骨架上,或做为对称取代的氨基或叠氮衍生环糊精分子)。由于亲核取代反应产生的含氮基团,处于6-C原子的一级羟基为引入含氮基团的最可能位置。可用于本发明的含氮基团的实例包括酰胺基(-NHAc),烷基胺基(包括甲胺基,乙胺基,丁胺基,异丁胺基,异丙胺基,己胺基),及其它烷基胺基取代物。氨基或烷基胺基取代物可进一步与其它同氮原子反应的化合物反应,以进一步衍生氨基基团。其它可能的含氮取代基包括二烷基胺基,如二甲基胺基,二乙基胺基,哌啶子基,piperizino,四级取代的烷基或芳基氯化铵取代基,可制造环糊精的卤代衍生物作为生产以相容衍生物取代的环糊精分子的原料。在这些化合物中,一级或二级羟基用卤代基团如氟,氯,溴,碘或其它取代基取代。卤素取代的最可能位置在6-位一级羟基。
烃取代的膦酰基或烃取代的磷基团可用于在环糊精中引入相容的衍生物。在一级羟基处环糊精分子可用烷基磷,芳基磷基团取代。2和3位的二级羟基可用烷基磷基团接枝。
环糊精分子可用杂环核,包括侧基咪唑基团,组氨酸基团,咪唑基团,吡啶基和取代的吡啶基团取代。
环糊精衍生物可用含硫的功能基团改性,以在环糊精中导入相容取代基。除了上面发现的磺酰基酰化基团,基于巯基化学制造的含硫基团可用来衍生环糊精。这些含硫基团包括甲基硫(-SMe),丙基硫(-SPr)、叔丁基硫(-S-C(CH3)3),羟基乙基硫(-S-CH2CH2OH),咪唑基甲基硫,苯基硫,取代苯基硫,氨基烷基硫等。基于上述之醚或硫醚化学,可制备末端具有羟基醛酮或羧酸官能基取代的环糊精。这些基团包括羟乙基,3-羟丙基,甲氧基乙基,以及相应的oxeme异构体,甲酰甲基及其oxeme异构体,亚甲氧基(-OCH2-CO2H),亚甲氧基甲基酯(-O-CH2CO2-CH3)。带有用硅氧烷化学形成的衍生物的环糊精可含有相容的官能基团。
可以制备含硅氧烷的环糊精功能基衍生物。硅氧烷基团一般指单个取代的硅原子基团或带有取代基的重复的硅-氧骨架的基团。在硅氧烷取代基中的硅氧烷原子的重要部分一般具有烃取代基(烷基或苯基)。硅氧烷取代的材料一般具有增高的热和氧化稳定性和化学惰性。而且,硅氧烷基团增加了对气候的耐受,增加了绝缘强度和表面张力。由于硅氧烷基可在硅氧烷单元中具有1个或2-20个硅原子,硅氧烷基团的分子结构可变化,可以是线性的或分枝的,具有大量的重复硅-氧基团,并还能被各种功能基团取代。对于本发明目的,简单的含取代单元的硅氧烷优选包括三甲基硅,混合甲基-苯基硅基团等。我们意识到某种βCD和乙酰化及羟基烷基衍生物可从American Maize-Products Co.,CornProcessing Division,Hammond,IN获得。
包装和包装的产品
含有相容衍生化环糊精的热塑塑料可用于多种包装形式包装不同的产品。可用普通的包装计划。例如产品可完全用膜袋,袋子等包装。而且,该膜可用做刚性塑料容器的膜密封物。这些容器可以具有长方形,圆形,正方形或其它形状的截面,平底和上开口。容器和热塑膜密封物可由本发明的热塑材料制造。而且本发明的热塑料可用做形成发泡容器包装,蚌壳形封口,桶,托盘等。一般地两种类型产品需要实际上具有防护性能的本发明的热塑膜包装。在一种产品形式中保护产品免受包装材料以外的渗透来源的污染是重要的。保护食品免受芳香和脂肪烃、含氟碳化合物、油墨、包装残渣,来自运输设施及其它内燃机的废气,常用于各种消耗品如香水纸、条形皂、香味沐浴产品、清洁剂、织物柔软剂、去污剂、干燥漂白剂、消毒剂等的香料的污染。所有的食品是需要保护以免受外界污染的最普通物质,其它的产品也可对气味敏感。而且许多材料必须包在防护材料中,以防物质中的气味散到包装之外。多种食品气味很容易透过各种包装材料。这些食品气味能吸引昆虫和啮齿类有害物。令消费者或雇员讨厌,或者导致包装材料的重要气味标示的丢失,降低产品质量。重要气味需要实在的防护物,包括来自咖啡,方便谷物食品,冷冻比萨饼,可可或其它巧克力产品,干混合肉汁或汤,快餐食品(面条,饼干,爆米花等),烘烤食品,干宠物食品(猫食等),奶油或奶油味物品,肉产品,特别是在能微波的纸容器中用于生产微波爆米花的奶油或奶油味物品,水果或坚果等的气味。
上面解释的环糊精衍生物性质,热塑膜,关于膜生产的生产细节,以及环糊精制造相容衍生物的方法,提供了理解涉及在热塑膜中掺入用作防护目的的相容环糊精技术的基础。以下的实施例,膜制备和渗透数据提供了理解本发明的进一步基础,并包括最好的方式。
在我们生产环糊精衍生物和在热塑膜中复合环糊精的工作之后,我们已发现,用许多已知的化学方法可以使环糊精容易地衍生化。环糊精材料可被平稳地熔化混合到热塑材料中,产生含有环糊精材料均匀分布在整个热塑塑料中的透明可挤压热塑材料。而且我们已发现,环糊精衍生物可与广泛的热塑膜合用。环糊精材料能以广泛的环糊精浓度范围被掺入到膜中。含有环糊精的热塑材料能被吹制成各种厚度的膜并能吹制成无熔化缝隙或其它的膜或薄板变形。我们已在实验中发现,防护特性,即芳香烃、脂肪烃、乙醇和水汽的转移速率的降低,可用环糊精衍生物技术来获得。我们也已发现,环糊精材料的使用改善膜的表面性能。膜表面的表面张力和表面电性能也被改善。这一结果增加了本发明膜在涂层,印刷,层压,装卸等方面的应用。在最初的工作中我们也已发现(1)几种改性的环糊精候选者被发现可与LLDPE树脂相容并提供了对残留LLDPE挥发污染物好的复合作用,同时减少扩散透过膜的有机渗透物。(2)未改性的环糊精以相反方式影响透明度,热稳定性,可加工性,以及膜的防护性能。相反地,选择改性的βCD(乙酰化和三甲基硅醚衍生物)对透明度及热稳定性没有影响。挤压的塑料材料的可加工性受到某些影响,造成一些表面缺陷,因此降低膜的防护性能。(3)含有改性的βCD组分(1%重量百分比)的膜减少芳香渗透物,在72°F减少35%,在105°F是38%;脂肪渗透物在72°F被减少仅9%。如果不采用最坏情况贮藏寿命测试条件来测试膜,这些结果会有显著的改善。(4)对芳香和脂肪渗透物,复合作用是不一样的。含改性的βCD的膜对芳香物(汽油型化合物)比对脂肪物(印刷油墨型化合物)具有更好的复合速率。相反地,膜涂层对脂肪化合物比对芳香化合物有更加明显的复合作用。(5)含βCD的丙烯酸涂层主要承担降低脂肪渗透物,可降低46%到88%,而芳香化合物只被降低29%。
定性制备
最初,我们制造了四个实验测试膜。其中三个膜含1%,3%及5%(重量/重量)载量的β-环糊精βCD,第四个是用同一批树脂和添加剂但无βCD制造的对照膜。5%载量的βCD膜用于测试测试膜对残留有机物的复合作用。尽管发现βCD能有效地复合线性低密度聚乙烯(LLDPE)树脂中的残留有机物,但它与此树脂不相容并且形成βCD聚集颗粒。
我们已经评价了九种改性β环糊精和一种研碎的β-环糊精(粒度5-20微米)。不同的环糊精改性有乙酰基化,辛基琥珀酸酯,乙氧己基缩水甘油醚,四级胺,叔胺,羧甲基,琥珀一酰化,两性及三甲基硅醚。用Littleford混合器把每一种实验的环糊精(1%载量重量/重量)与低密度聚乙烯(LLDPE)混合,然后用双螺杆Brabender压出机挤压。
在50X和200X放大倍数的光学显微镜下,检查此九种改性的环糊精和研碎的环糊精LLDPE的外形。显微镜检查用于肉眼检验LLDPE树脂和环糊精的相容性。在测试的十种环糊精候选者中,肉眼发现有三种(乙酰化,辛基琥珀酸酯和三甲基硅醚)与LLDPE树脂相容。
用低温冷阱(cryotrapping)方法,测定5%βCD膜样品和三种含1%(重量/重量)乙酰化β环糊精,辛基琥珀酸酯β环糊精和三甲基硅醚β环糊精的压出型材复合的残留膜挥发物。此方法由三个分开的步骤组成,首位的两个同时进行,而第三个是分离并检测挥发性有机化合物的仪器方法,要在第一、二项完成后进行。第一步,用纯的干燥惰性气体从样品中除去挥发物。在气提步骤中,样品要加热至120℃。样品在分析前立即添加代用品(苯-d6)。苯-d6用作内部QC代用品,以校正每套回收率测试数据。第二步,通过在浸入液氮冷阱的液气瓶中冷却来自提取气的样品,浓缩样品中的挥发物。在气提部分的最后,内标(甲苯-d8)直接注入到液气瓶中并立即封住瓶口。方法和系统空白样散布在样品中,并以与处理样品相同的方式处理,监测污染。然后,通过加热液气瓶高效气相色谱/质谱(HRGC/MS),浓缩的有机成分被分离,鉴定和定量。残留挥发物分析的结果示于下表:表I样品鉴定 与对照相比挥发物复合作用%5%βCD吹制膜 801%乙酰化βCD型材 471%辛基琥珀酸酯βCD型材 01%三甲基硅醚型材 481%βCD研碎的型材 29
在这些初步的筛选结果中,βCD衍生物显示出有效地复合在用于制造实验膜的低密度聚乙烯树脂中固有的微量挥发有机物。在5%βCD载量的LLDPE膜中,约80%的有机挥发物被复合。然而,所有的βCD膜(1%和5%)都颜色不对(亮褐色)并有臭味。颜色及气味问题认为是由CD或CD中的杂质的直接分解所致。在吹制膜样品中鉴定到两种气味活性化合物(2-呋喃甲醛和2-呋喃甲醇)。
在三种改性的相容的CD候选者(乙酰化,辛基琥珀酸酯和三甲基硅醚)中,乙酰化和三甲基硅醚CD显示有效地复合LLDPE中固有的微量挥发有机物。1%载量的乙酰化和三甲基硅醚(TMSE)βCD显示出约50%的残留LPDE有机挥发物被复合,而辛基琥珀酸酯CD不复合残留LLDPE树脂的挥发物。发现研碎的βCD不如乙酰化和TMSE改性的βCD有效(28%)。
塑料包装材料都不同程度地与它们保护的食品相互作用。食品塑料包装的主要相互作用形式是通过从环境迁移有机分子,穿过聚合物膜进入包装的口部空间,在那里被食品吸收。储藏过程中,包装的有机分子向食物的迁移或转运受环境条件,如温度,储藏时间以及其它的环境因素(如湿度,有机分子的类型及其浓度)的影响。迁移具有品质(消费者抵制)和毒物学影响。包装膜测试的目的为检测特定防护物会怎样影响包装的个别食品的品质。对低水活性食品,为模拟加速贮藏寿命测试,实验在72-105°F温度,相对湿度60%条件下进行。这些温度和湿度条件可能与非控制仓库中,转运中和储藏中可见的条件相似。
如果聚合物对湿度敏感,持别是在低水活性食品中相对湿度能够影响膜的性能。在实际的最终使用条件中,因为包装膜要分开两种湿度极端,所以要在膜的两侧控制渗透装置中的相对湿度。环境一面,代表包装的外边,保持60%的相对湿度,样品一面,代表含低水活性产品的包装的内部,保持0.25的相对湿度。
组合的渗透物用于测定CD的官能和性能。组合是理想化的,因为汽油(主要是芳香烃混合物)和印刷油墨溶剂(主要是脂肪烃混合物)不是由单一化合物而是由混合物形成的。
芳香渗透物含有乙醇(20ppm)、甲苯(3ppm),对-二甲苯(2ppm),邻二甲苯(1ppm),三甲基苯(0.5ppm)和萘(0.5ppm)。脂肪渗透物,一种含大约20种单个化合物的商业印刷溶剂混合物,含量是20ppm。
图3的渗透作用测试装置由具有1200ml容积空间(环境室或进料侧)的玻璃渗透室或瓶和300ml(样品室或渗透侧)两部分组成。
实验膜的性能在封闭体积的渗透装置中测定。带有火焰离子检测器(FD)的高效气相色谱(HRGC)用来测定累积的渗透物浓度随时间的变化。样品侧(食品侧)化合物浓度从每一个化合物的相应因子来计算。浓度以百万分之一(ppm)(体积/体积)报告。在膜的样品侧的累积渗透物浓度随时间作图。
我们制造了四个实验测试膜。其中三个膜含1%,3%及5%(重量/重量)载量的βCD,第四个是用同一批树脂和添加剂但无βCD制造的对照膜。
第二种实验技术也用来测定夹在两个对照膜之间的βCD是否也会复合渗透进膜的有机蒸汽。实验通过在两层对照膜薄板之间轻轻撒上βCD进行。
实验显示对照膜比载有βCD的膜功能好。渗透作用实验结果也证实βCD的载量越高,膜执行防护物作用越差。对两层对照膜之间夹有βCD的测试结果显示,βCD降低渗透蒸汽的效率是不含βCD的对照样品的两倍。这一实验支持假如在生产过程中没有发生使膜的屏障效能降低的防护质量变化,CD确实复合膜中渗透的有机物气体。
对在72°F消除芳香渗透物上,1%TMSE βCD膜比1%乙酰化βCD膜略好(24%比26%),加入更多改性的CD似乎没有改善。
在105°F,对芳香渗透物,1%TMSE βCD膜和1%乙酰化βCD膜两者都比在72°F消除芳香渗透物有效率提高约13%。1%TMSE βCD膜又比1%乙酰化βCD膜消除芳香渗透物稍好一些(36%比31%)。
在72°F,1%TMSE膜开始时比1%乙酰化βCD膜更有效地消除芳香渗透物。但是随着测试时间延长,1%TMSE βCD膜比对照差,而1%乙酰化βCD膜只消除6%的芳香渗透物。
我们制备了两种实验性的水性涂敷溶液。一种溶液含有羟基乙基βCD(重量百分比35%),和另一种溶液含有羟基丙基βCD(重量百分比35%)。两种溶液都含有10%的丙烯酸乳胶,包括具有分子量约150000(Polysciences,Inc.)(固体占重量的15%)的聚丙烯酸分散体系,做为膜形成粘合剂。通过把两个LLDPE膜层压在一起,这些溶液被用于手工涂敷实验膜样品。第一种技术很轻微的延展两个膜样品平面,然后此涂层用一个手辊来涂敷,在延展平面的同时膜被层压在一起。在层压过程中,Rev.1样品不被延展。所有涂敷的样品最后放于一个真空层压机中,以除去在膜薄板间的空气泡。膜涂敷的厚度约为0.0005英寸。这些涂敷了CD的膜以及涂敷了羟基甲基纤维素的对照膜被相继测试。
在暴露于蒸汽的最初几小时里,被羟基乙基βCD涂敷的膜降低芳香和脂肪气体要多,在随后的20小时测试中减少。用羟基乙基βCD涂敷的膜去除芳香气比脂肪气要高,认为这是它们的分子体积差别的作用(例如脂肪化合物比芳香化合物小)。在20小时的测试期间,与对照相比脂肪渗透物被减少46%。在17小时的测试期间,与对照相比芳香气的减少是29%。
在20小时的测试期间,与对照相比涂敷了羟基乙基βCD的Rev.1减少脂肪渗透物87%。不知道涂敷膜的方法是否为比其它羟乙基βCD涂敷膜额外降低的41%的原因。
在72°F,羟基乙基βCD涂敷的膜比羟基丙基βCD涂敷的膜对除去芳香渗透物稍好一些(29%比20%)。

实施例I
得到的乙酰化β-环糊精在每个环糊精分于的一级-OH上含有3.4个乙酰基团。
实施例IIβ-环糊精的三甲基硅醚在一台装有4000毫升圆底烧瓶和氮气环境的旋转蒸发器中,N气以每分钟100毫升的速度导入,加入3升的二甲基甲酰胺。向二甲基甲酰胺中加入750g β-环糊精。β-环糊精在60℃经旋转溶解于二甲基甲酰胺。溶解后,从旋转蒸发器上取下烧瓶,将内容物冷至约18℃。把烧瓶放在磁力搅拌器上并加入搅拌子,向烧瓶内加入295毫升的六甲基二硅胺(HMDS,Pierce Chemical No.84769),随后小心地加入97毫升的三甲基氯硅烷(TMCS,Pierce Chemical No.88531)。先小心地滴加最初的20毫升,待反应停止后再小心地滴加另20毫升,等等,直到全部加完。加完TMCS后,并在反应停止后,烧瓶连同内容物一同放在旋转蒸发器上,加热到60℃,同时保持惰性氮气环境,氮气以每分钟100毫升的速度流过旋转蒸发器。反应进行4小时,随后蒸出溶剂,剩下308g的干物。随后经过滤从烧瓶中取出,用去离子水洗滤渣,洗去硅烷化的产物,真空炉干燥(75℃,0.3英寸Hg柱)并以粉末状物贮存,留作随后与热塑材料复合.此物光谱检验此物,显示β-环糊精中每个环糊精分子约含有1.7个三甲基硅醚取代基。取代通常是在一级6-碳原子上。

膜的制备
用线性低密度聚乙烯树脂,βCD和衍生化βCD如β-环糊精的乙酰化或三甲基硅衍生物,我们制备了一系列膜。聚合物颗粒与粉末β-环糊精以及β-环糊精衍生物材料,含氟聚合物润滑剂(3M)和抗氧化剂干燥混合,直到干燥掺合物均匀。干燥掺合物被混合并在一台Haake System 90,3/4”锥形压出机上压出成丸状。收集得到的丸用于膜的制备。
表IA显示了典型的微粒化压出机的条件。膜在图2的设备上吹制。图2显示由模口22出来的压出热塑管21。此管被模头23压扁并被辊24层化成膜25。用穿过空气导入管26的压缩空气使压出管21膨胀。热塑塑料在压出机中熔化。混合区27使用压出机温度,熔融区28使用熔融温度,同时模头29使用模头温度。用从冷却环出来的吹出空气冷却流使压出物冷却。图2的一般图解背景是40mm模口直径、吹制膜的实际制备中使用的Kiefel吹制膜压出机的代表。根据以上方法生产膜,而结果见表IB。在各种环境条件下测试膜转移速率。环境测试条件见下面的表II。

第二种涂层由从Dagax Laboratories,Inc.购买的1,2-二氯乙烯乳胶(PVDC,固体60wt%)制备。PVDC乳胶涂层用两种水平的羟基丙基βCD--10wt%和20wt%的环糊精衍生物来制备。这些溶液被用于手工涂敷线性低密度聚乙烯测试膜样品,此膜样品通过把两个膜层压在一起得到。用手辊把此涂层涂覆于两个对照膜薄板(辊成一个)并层压在一起。在层压过程中膜不被延展。所有涂敷样品被置于真空层压机中以除去膜薄板之间的空气泡。PVDC涂层约为0.0004英寸。以相同的方式制备不含羟基丙基βCD的涂PVDC的对照。

2.2试剂
试剂用水。在目的化学分析物的MDL中观察不到干扰的水。水纯化系统用来产生试剂用水,它被煮沸至80%体积,封口,使用前冷却到室温。
储备的乙醇/芳香标准溶液。乙醇(0.6030克),甲苯(0.1722克),对二甲苯(0.1327克),邻二甲苯(0.0666克),三甲基苯(0.0375克)和萘(0.400克)装在1ml封口的玻璃安瓿瓶中。轻油混合物标准是一种商业的油漆溶剂,含有约20单个的脂肪烃化合物,从Sunnyside Corporation,Consumer Produts Division,Wheeling,IL.得到。Triton X-100.壬基酚非离子表面活性剂(Rohm and Hass)。2.0标准制备
2.2制备工作标准液
使用储备渗透物测试标准液。这些标准是通过称量净证明的参考化合物来制备的,实际重量和重量百分比是已知的。
把250μl的储备标准液注射到100ml含0.1克的表面活性剂(Triton X-100)的试剂用水,制备工作乙醇/芳香物标准。在加入渗透物储备标准之前,TritonX-100要完全溶解在试剂用水,这点是重要的。这将确保在水中分散测试化合物。另外,每次一部分要分散时,工作标准要彻底混合。建议将工作标准转移到无口部空间的crimp-top玻璃瓶中,以减少由于配制标准的容量瓶中大的口部体积而造成的丢失。
把800μl的“净”轻油溶剂混合物注射到100毫升含0.1克的表面活性剂(Triton X-100)的试剂用水中,制备工作轻油混合物标准。
打开的储备标准液应从snap-cap玻璃瓶转移到crimp-top玻璃瓶,以短期储存。此玻璃瓶可以储存在防爆冰箱或冰箱的冷冻室中。
2.1校正标准
校正标准以三种浓度水平的最低值制定,通过将标准工作液加入一容量瓶并由试剂用水稀释至体积。标准之一定为接近单高于该方法检测线的浓度。其它浓度与环境及样品侧室发现的预期浓度范围相当。3.0样品制备

图3中的环境瓶和样品瓶用前用肥皂水洗涤,彻底用去离子水冲洗,在炉中干燥。洗涤后的每一个瓶子都安上一个橡胶隔膜。
用一个模板把膜测试样品切割成铝密封环的内径大小。膜测试样品的直径对防止沿切割边缘扩散丢失是重要的。膜样品,铝封圈以及瓶子按图3所示装配,但夹环的螺母没有上紧。
准备测试室(图3)。首先用干燥的压缩空气冲洗样品瓶32和环境瓶31,以除去样品瓶和环境瓶内的湿气。通过用针穿过样品系统33和环境隔膜34,装配让干燥的控制空气流同时通过两个瓶子的导管来完成此操作。夹环35宽松地安装在瓶子上以减少在膜31两边形成的压力。冲洗两个瓶子约10分钟后,移走针并拧紧夹环,把膜30封在两个瓶子之间。使用橡胶面的铝制隔离物36a,36b,以确保气密配合。
样品侧注入每300ml瓶体积2μl的水。因样品瓶体积的变化,水要做相应的调整。在300ml瓶体积内的2μl水类似于72°F 0.25水活性生成物。其次,根据2.2节制备的40μl渗透作用的乙醇/芳香物工作标准或40μl轻油混合物工作标准被注入到环境瓶内。这些工作标准的任一个在72°F会产生60%的相对湿度,具有在表I指示的1200ml体积瓶子中渗透物浓度(百万分之一体积/体积)。通过使用湿度图来测定湿度和气体损失来计算渗透物浓度,其它的湿度或渗透物浓度可用于本测试方法。记录时间并把渗透作用室放置到恒温控制的炉内。可以摇晃样品以调节GC运行时间。制备了三种典型的渗透作用设备。三重分析被用于QC(质量控制)。
在每一个时间间隔的末尾,从炉中取出该组的一个样品。先分析环境瓶,采用装有1ml载样环的加热六通样品阀。用环境侧或样品侧的1ml体积空气冲洗载样环。此环被插入到毛细管柱。进样后,手动打开GC/FID系统。从一次单个渗透作用实验的样品和环境侧取出多至8个1ml样品注射。
从每一个化合物的校正曲线或响应因子(方程1或3),计算样品侧和环境侧的测试化合物浓度。如果需要渗透物的质量,接着对每一套特殊的渗透作用瓶做体积修正。4.0样品分析
4.1仪器参数
标准品和样品使用以下的方法参数用气相色谱来分析:
色谱柱:J&W柱,DB-5,30M.025mm ID,1 umdf
载气:氢气
狭缝流量:9.4ml/min
注射口温度:105℃
火焰检测器温度:200℃
炉温1:75℃
程序升温速度1:15℃
炉温2:125℃
速度2:20℃
最后炉温温度:200℃
最后保持时间:2Min
六通样品阀的温度设定为105℃。
4.2校正
用在以下测试化合物范围的标准,准备三点校正:校正曲线范围测试样品 ppm(μl)乙醇 2-20甲苯 0.3-3对二甲苯 0.2-2邻二甲苯 0.1-11,2,4-三甲基苯 0.05-0.5萘 0.05-0.5轻油溶剂混合物 4.0-40
向容量瓶中等份的试剂用水中加入适当体积的工作标准液,制备校正标准液。
4.2.1用于校正曲线的工作标准液的二级稀释校正曲线
5∶1稀释:在25ml容量瓶内加入5ml工作标准液,定容封口,然后摇匀。
2.5∶1稀释:在25ml容量瓶内加入10ml工作标准液,定容封口,然后摇匀。
分析每个校正标准液并把化合物的峰面积响应值对环境侧室的测试化合物浓度列表。其结果用来绘制每一个化合物的校正曲线。轻油溶剂混合物是一商业油漆层溶剂,含有大约20个单独的脂肪烃化合物。通过对20个单独峰下面的面积逐个加合,测定其对浓度的响应。用最小二乘方的方法来使校正曲线符合一条直线。然后计算每一个测试化合物校正曲线的斜率,用于测定未知浓度。平均响应因子可用来代替校正曲线。
工作校正曲线或响应因子必须在每一个工作日通过测定一个或多个校正标准液来进行验证。如果任一个化合物的响应变动超过20%,必须用新的校正标准液重复。如果结果仍超过20%,作一条新的校正曲线。
4.3校正曲线和方法检测水平样品的分析
以上概括了推荐的色谱条件。
如上所述,每日校正系统。
检查并调节狭缝流量,并用皂膜流量计检查流速。
为产生准确的数据,必须在相同的条件分析样品、校正标准液和方法检测水平样品。
校正标准液和方法检测样品只在环境瓶中准备。用具有环境瓶凸缘直径的1/2英寸塑料圆盘和铝薄板圆盘代替样品瓶来完成。在环境瓶的玻璃凸缘上放置一个封口环,然后放一个铝薄板及该塑料圆盘。
用干燥的压缩空气冲洗环境瓶,以除去样品瓶和环境瓶内的湿气。通过用针穿过环境隔膜,装配让干燥的控制空气流通过瓶子的导管来完成此操作。夹环宽松地安装在瓶子上以减少形成的压力。冲洗两个瓶子约10分钟后,移走针并拧紧夹环,对着密封圈封住铝薄膜。
然后,向环境瓶内注入40μl的乙醇/芳香物工作标准液或工作标准液的二级稀释液。或者向环境瓶内注入40μl的轻油溶剂混合物或工作标准液的二级稀释液。记录时间并把瓶子放置到恒温控制的炉内。
在30分钟末,从炉中取出环境瓶。采用装有1ml载样环的加热六通样品阀来分析环境瓶。用环境侧或样品侧的1ml体积空气冲洗载样环。此环被插入到毛细管柱。进样后,手动打开GC/FID系统。4.4结果的计算
4.4.1测试化合物相应因子
从每一个化合物的校正曲线斜率或响应因子(RF),计算样品侧和环境侧的测试化合物浓度。如果需要渗透物的质量,接着对每一套特殊的渗透作用室做体积修正。 化合物浓度(ppm)=峰面积×RF(相应因子) (3)在膜的上游侧(环境)或下游侧(样品),累积渗透物质量随时间作图。渗透面积的扩散速率和转移速率从转移作用曲线数据来计算。
4.4.2转移速率
当渗透物不与聚合物相互作用时,渗透能力系数R通常是渗透物-膜体系的特征。这是许多气体如氢气,氮气,氧气和二氧化碳气穿过聚合物的渗透作用的情况。如果渗透物与聚合物分子相互作用,象在本方法所用的渗透测试化合物的情况,P不再是恒定,而依赖于压力,膜厚度和其它条件。在这种情况,单一的P值不能代表聚合膜渗透能力的特征,并且有必要知道P对所有可能的可变因素的相关性,以便获得聚合物渗透能力的完整图形。在这些情况中,当在一特定温度渗透物的饱和蒸汽压被用于透过膜时,转移速率Q常常被用于实际的场合。膜对水和有机化合物的渗透能力常常这样表示: 在本申请中,Q以
为单位表示。
测定渗透作用系数中主要的可变因素之一是跨膜压力降低。由于转移速率Q在其计算式中既不包含压力也不包含渗透物的浓度,为了关联Q与P,因此有必要知道在测试的条件下,蒸汽压力或渗透物的浓度之一。
从环境侧到样品侧的跨膜压力降低主要是由于水蒸汽压力。水浓度或湿度不保持恒定并且在有机物被分析的时间间隔中不加测定,所以跨膜压力未被测定。以上含各种相容的环糊精衍生物的热塑膜的实例表明本发明可以在各种不同热塑膜中具体实施。而且,各种不同的相容的衍生化环糊精材料可用于本发明。最后,能够用各种膜制造技术,包括挤压和水性分散涂层,来制造膜以生产有用的防护物。
以上说明书,取代环糊精的实施例,压出的热塑膜和实验数据为理解本发明的技术方面提供基础。由于发明可以用各种实施方案来实行,所以本发明属于此后补充的权利要求。
Claims (106)
1.一种热塑膜的组合物,含有改善的防护性能,此膜组成包括:
(a)一种热塑聚合物织物(web);和
(b)一种均匀地分散在织物中的、有效地吸附渗透物量的聚合物相容环糊精衍生物;
其中环糊精基本上没有内含的复合化合物。
2.权利要求1中的膜,其中热塑聚合物包括含有α-烯烃的乙烯基聚合物。
3.权利要求1中的膜,其中热塑聚合物包括含有乙烯基氯或偏二氯乙烯的含氯的乙烯基聚合物。
4.权利要求3中的膜,其中热塑聚合物包含聚(乙烯基氯-乙烯基乙酸酯)或聚(乙烯基氯-偏二氯乙烯)共聚物。
