Description

共役ジエン系ゴム、ゴム組成物、ゴム架橋物、およびタイヤ、ならびに共役ジエン系ゴムの製造方法
 本発明は、共役ジエン系ゴム、ゴム組成物、ゴム架橋物、およびタイヤ、ならびに共役ジエン系ゴムの製造方法に関し、より詳細には、共役ジエン系ゴム、この共役ジエン系ゴムを含有するゴム組成物、このゴム組成物を成形および架橋してなるゴム架橋物、およびこのゴム架橋物を含むタイヤ、ならびに共役ジエン系ゴムの製造方法に関する。
 近年、環境問題および資源の問題から、自動車用のタイヤには低燃費性が強く求められており、さらに安全性の面からは優れたウエットグリップ性、ドライグリップ性、および操縦安定性が求められている。充填剤としてシリカを配合したゴム組成物は、通常使用されるカーボンブラックを配合したゴム組成物に比べて、それを用いてなるタイヤの低発熱性を向上させるため、より低燃費なタイヤを与えることができる。
 しかし、タイヤ用途に通常使用されている天然ゴムおよび極性の低い合成ゴムは、シリカとの親和性が劣る。そのため、極性の低い合成ゴムなどに、種々のシランカップリング剤を添加して、シリカとの親和性を改善することが知られている。しかしながら、単にシランカップリング剤をシリカと併用したものは、カーボンブラックを配合したゴム組成物に比べて耐摩耗性が不十分である場合があり、さらに、シランカップリング剤が高価であることから、シランカップリング剤の配合量が多くなると製造コストが高くなるという問題がある。
 このような問題を解決することを目的とした技術として、特定の変性剤を反応させることにより、ゴム自体にシリカとの親和性を持たせることが検討されている。例えば、特許文献1には、シリカとの親和性に優れる特定の化合物を重合体活性末端に反応させた共役ジエン系ゴムが開示されている。また、特許文献2および特許文献3には、活性末端を有する共役ジエン系重合体に特定の官能基を有するポリオルガノシロキサンを反応させて得られる共役ジエン系ゴムに、シリカを配合してなるゴム組成物が開示されている。また、特許文献4には、分子鎖の一方の末端にイソプレンブロックを有し、もう一方の末端である重合体活性末端に特定のハロゲン化スズ化合物を反応させた共役ジエン系ゴムが開示されている。

 しかしながら、近年の自動車用タイヤに対する要求性能の高まりを鑑みると、今後新しく開発されるタイヤには、これらの特許文献に具体的に記載されたゴム組成物を用いた場合に比べ、より一層の低発熱性、ウエットグリップ性、および操縦安定性などを併せ持つタイヤを与えるゴム組成物が望まれている。
 本発明は上記課題に鑑みてなされたものであり、その目的は、強度、低発熱性、ウエットグリップ性、および操縦安定性に優れるタイヤを与えるゴム組成物を提供する共役ジエン系ゴムを得ることにある。
 本発明者らは、上記課題を解決するために鋭意研究した結果、一端にイソプレンブロックを有し、他端に活性末端を有する共役ジエン系重合体鎖と、特定の変性剤とを反応させて得られる、3以上の共役ジエン系重合体鎖が変性剤を介して結合している構造体を所定量以上含有させることで、強度、低発熱性、ウエットグリップ性、および操縦安定性に優れるタイヤを与えるゴム組成物に好適に用いられる共役ジエン系ゴムを得られることを見出し、本願発明を完成させるに至った。
 すなわち、本発明の共役ジエン系ゴムは、少なくとも一方の端がイソプレン単量体単位を70重量%以上有するイソプレンブロックであり、他方の端が活性末端である共役ジエン系重合体鎖と、
 エポキシ基およびヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基の少なくとも何れかを1分子中に1以上有し、エポキシ基の1分子中の数およびヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基に含まれるヒドロカルビルオキシ基の1分子中の数の合計が3以上である変性剤と、
が反応することにより得られる、3以上の上記共役ジエン系重合体鎖が上記変性剤を介して結合してなる構造体を、5重量%以上含有する、ことを特徴としている。

 さらに本発明によれば、不活性溶媒中、イソプレン単量体またはイソプレン単量体を含有する単量体混合物を、重合開始剤を用いてリビング重合することにより、活性末端を有するイソプレンブロックを形成させ、次いで、共役ジエン単量体または共役ジエン単量体を含有する単量体混合物を、前記イソプレンブロックに結合させ、引き続きリビング重合することにより、少なくとも一方の端がイソプレン単量体単位を70重量%以上有するイソプレンブロックであり、他方の端が活性末端である共役ジエン系重合体鎖を得て、

 重合反応に使用した重合開始剤1molに対して、上記共役ジエン系重合体鎖の活性末端と反応する変性剤中の、エポキシ基と、ヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基に含まれるヒドロカルビルオキシ基との合計mol数の比が、0.1~5になるように反応させる、共役ジエン系ゴムの製造方法が提供される。
 本発明の共役ジエン系ゴムは、3以上の特定の共役ジエン系重合体鎖が特定の変性剤を介して結合してなる構造体を5重量%以上含有している。そのため、本発明によれば、強度、低発熱性、ウエットグリップ性、および操縦安定性に優れるタイヤを与えるゴム組成物を得るために好適に用いられる共役ジエン系ゴムを提供できる。
 以下において、本発明の共役ジエン系ゴム等について説明する。なお、本明細書において「~」は、その前後に記載される数値をそれぞれ最小値および最大値として含む範囲を意味する。
 本発明の共役ジエン系ゴムは、少なくとも一方の端がイソプレン単量体単位を70重量%以上有するイソプレンブロックであり、他方の端が活性末端である共役ジエン系重合体鎖と、特定の変性剤とが反応することにより得られる、3以上の上記共役ジエン系重合体鎖が上記変性剤を介して結合してなる構造体を、5重量%以上含有するものである。
 〔共役ジエン系重合体鎖〕
 本発明の共役ジエン系ゴムに含有される構造体を形成するのに用いられる共役ジエン系重合体鎖は、共役ジエン単量体単位を含んでなる重合体鎖であって、少なくとも一方の端がイソプレンブロックであり、他方の端が活性末端であれば、特に限定されない。
 この共役ジエン系重合体鎖は、不活性溶媒中で、イソプレン単量体またはイソプレン単量体を所定量含んでなるイソプレン単量体混合物を、重合開始剤を用いてリビング重合することにより、活性末端を有するイソプレンブロックを形成させ、次いで、共役ジエン単量体または共役ジエン単量体を含んでなる単量体混合物を、活性末端を有するイソプレンブロックに結合させ、引き続きリビング重合することにより得ることができる。なお、上記の共役ジエン単量体を含んでなる単量体混合物は、さらに芳香族ビニル単量体を含んでなることが好ましい。

 本明細書においてイソプレンブロックとは、共役ジエン系重合体鎖においてイソプレン単量体単位を主たる構成単位として形成されている部分をいう。ここで、イソプレンブロックは、イソプレンブロック中のイソプレン単量体単位含有量が70重量%以上であり、80重量%以上であることが好ましく、90重量%以上であることがより好ましく、イソプレン単量体単位のみからなるものが特に好ましい。イソプレンブロック中のイソプレン単量体単位含有量が70重量%以上であると、共役ジエン系ゴムにシリカを配合した場合に、共役ジエン系ゴムとシリカとの親和性が良好となり、そのゴム組成物を用いたタイヤは、低発熱性が優れる。
 上記共役ジエン系重合体鎖では、少なくとも、活性末端ではない方の末端においてイソプレン単量体単位を70重量%以上有するイソプレンブロックが形成されていればよく、共役ジエン系重合体鎖中の他の部分にさらにイソプレンブロックを有している構成であってもよい。例えば、活性末端を有する側の末端にもイソプレンブロックが形成されている構成であってもよいが、活性末端ではない方の末端にのみイソプレンブロックが形成されている共役ジエン系重合体鎖が、生産性の観点から好ましい。少なくとも共役ジエン系重合体鎖の活性末端側ではない方の末端がイソプレンブロックにより構成されることにより、共役ジエン系ゴムにシリカを配合した場合に、共役ジエン系ゴムとシリカとの親和性が良好となり、そのゴム組成物を用いたタイヤは、低発熱性が優れる。
 共役ジエン系重合体鎖の活性末端ではない方の末端に存在するイソプレンブロック(以下、「イソプレンブロック(A)」と称することがある。)の重量平均分子量は、特に制限はなく、好ましくは500~25,000であり、より好ましくは1,000~5,500であり、特に好ましくは1,500~4,000である。イソプレンブロック(A)の重量平均分子量が500以上であると、最終的に得られるタイヤは強度により優れ、25,000以下であれば、最終的に得られるタイヤは低発熱性により優れたものとなる。
 イソプレンブロック(A)の重量平均分子量(Mw)と数平均分子量(Mn)との比(Mw/Mn)で表わされる分子量分布は、好ましくは1.0~1.5、より好ましくは1.0~1.4、特に好ましくは1.0~1.3である。この分子量分布の値(Mw/Mn)が上記範囲内にあると、本発明の共役ジエン系ゴムの製造がより容易となる。
 イソプレンブロックを得るために用いるイソプレン単量体と共重合し得るその他の単量体としては、イソプレン単量体と共重合可能なものであれば特に限定されず、例えば、1,3-ブタジエン、スチレン、α-メチルスチレンなどを用いることができる。これらの中でも、スチレンが好ましい。イソプレンブロック中、その他の単量体単位の含有量は、30重量%以下であり、20重量%以下であることが好ましく、10重量%以下であることがより好ましく、イソプレン単量体単位以外を含有していないことが特に好ましい。
 イソプレン単量体(混合物)の重合に用いられる不活性溶媒としては、溶液重合において通常使用されるものであって、重合反応を阻害しないものであれば、特に制限なく使用できる。その具体例としては、例えば、ブタン、ペンタン、ヘキサン、ヘプタン、および2-ブテンなどの鎖状脂肪族炭化水素;シクロペンタン、シクロヘキサン、およびシクロヘキセンなどの脂環式炭化水素;ベンゼン、トルエン、およびキシレンなどの芳香族炭化水素;などが挙げられる。不活性溶媒の使用量は、単量体濃度が、通常、1~50重量%であり、好ましくは10~40重量%である。
 イソプレンブロックを調製する際の重合開始剤としては、イソプレン単量体(混合物)をリビング重合させて、活性末端を有する重合体鎖を与えることができるものであれば、特に限定されないが、例えば、有機アルカリ金属化合物および有機アルカリ土類金属化合物、ならびにランタン系列金属化合物などを主触媒とする重合開始剤が好ましく使用される。有機アルカリ金属化合物の具体例としては、例えば、n-ブチルリチウム、sec-ブチルリチウム、t-ブチルリチウム、ヘキシルリチウム、フェニルリチウム、およびスチルベンリチウムなどの有機モノリチウム化合物;ジリチオメタン、1,4-ジリチオブタン、1,4-ジリチオ-2-エチルシクロヘキサン、1,3,5-トリリチオベンゼン、および1,3,5-トリス(リチオメチル)ベンゼンなどの有機多価リチウム化合物;ナトリウムナフタレンなどの有機ナトリウム化合物;カリウムナフタレンなどの有機カリウム化合物;などが挙げられる。また、有機アルカリ土類金属化合物としては、ジ-n-ブチルマグネシウム、ジ-n-ヘキシルマグネシウム、ジエトキシカルシウム、ジステアリン酸カルシウム、ジ-t-ブトキシストロンチウム、ジエトキシバリウム、ジイソプロポキシバリウム、ジエチルメルカプトバリウム、ジ-t-ブトキシバリウム、ジフェノキシバリウム、ジエチルアミノバリウム、ジステアリン酸バリウム、およびジケチルバリウムなどが挙げられる。ランタン系列金属化合物を主触媒とする重合開始剤としては、ランタン、セリウム、プラセオジム、ネオジム、サマリウムおよびガドリニウムなどのランタン系列金属と、カルボン酸、およびリン含有有機酸などとからなるランタン系列金属の塩を主触媒とし、これと、アルキルアルミニウム化合物、有機アルミニウムハイドライド化合物、および有機アルミニウムハライド化合物などの助触媒とからなる重合開始剤が挙げられる。これらの重合開始剤のなかでも、有機モノリチウム化合物および有機多価リチウム化合物を用いることが好ましく、有機モノリチウム化合物を用いることがより好ましく、n-ブチルリチウムを用いることが特に好ましい。なお、有機アルカリ金属化合物は、予め、ジブチルアミン、ジヘキシルアミン、ジベンジルアミン、ピロリジン、ヘキサメチレンイミン、およびヘプタメチレンイミン(好ましくは、ピロリジン、ヘキサメチレンイミン、およびヘプタメチレンイミン)などの第2級アミンと反応させて、有機アルカリ金属アミド化合物として使用してもよい。これらの重合開始剤は、それぞれ単独で、または2種以上を組み合わせて用いることができる。
 重合開始剤の使用量は、目的とする分子量に応じて決定すればよいが、イソプレン単量体(混合物)100g当り、好ましくは4~250mmol、より好ましくは30~200mmol、特に好ましくは40~100mmolの範囲である。
 イソプレン単量体(混合物)を重合するに際し、重合温度は、通常、-80~+150℃、好ましくは0~100℃、より好ましくは20~90℃の範囲である。
 イソプレンブロックにおけるイソプレン単量体単位中のビニル結合含有量を調節するために、重合に際し、不活性有機溶媒に極性化合物を添加することが好ましい。極性化合物としては、ジブチルエーテル、テトラヒドロフラン、および2,2-ジ(テトラヒドロフリル)プロパンなどのエーテル化合物;テトラメチルエチレンジアミンなどの第三級アミン;アルカリ金属アルコキシド;ホスフィン化合物;などが挙げられる。これらの中でも、エーテル化合物、および第三級アミンが好ましく、その中でも、重合開始剤の金属とキレート構造を形成し得るものがより好ましく、2,2-ジ(テトラヒドロフリル)プロパン、およびテトラメチルエチレンジアミンが特に好ましい。極性化合物の使用量は、目的とするビニル結合含有量に応じて決定すればよく、重合開始剤1molに対して、好ましくは0.1~30mol、より好ましくは0.5~10molの範囲で調節すればよい。極性化合物の使用量がこの範囲にあると、イソプレン単量体単位中のビニル結合含有量の調節が容易であり、かつ重合開始剤の失活による不具合も発生し難い。
 イソプレンブロック(A)におけるイソプレン単量体単位中のビニル結合含有量は、好ましくは21~85重量%、より好ましくは50~80重量%である。イソプレンブロック(A)におけるイソプレン単量体単位中のビニル結合含有量が上記範囲内にあると、最終的に得られるタイヤの低発熱性およびウエットグリップ性が優れたものとなる。なお、本明細書中において、イソプレン単量体単位中のビニル結合含有量とは、イソプレン単量体単位中の1,2-構造および3,4-構造を有するイソプレン単量体単位の合計量の割合を指すものとする。特に、イソプレンブロック(A)におけるイソプレン単量体単位中のビニル結合含有量が50~80重量%である場合には、得られるタイヤのウエットグリップ性が特に優れたものとなる。
 なお、共役ジエン系重合体鎖の活性末端ではない方の末端以外に存在するイソプレンブロックの重量平均分子量、分子量分布、およびイソプレン単量体単位中のビニル結合含有量については、特に限定されない。
 (イソプレンブロック以外の部分)
 共役ジエン系重合体鎖におけるイソプレンブロック以外の部分は、共役ジエン単量体の単独重合体鎖または共役ジエン単量体と芳香族ビニル単量体との共重合体鎖であることが好ましい。共役ジエン単量体単位と芳香族ビニル単量体単位との重量比(共役ジエン単量体単位:芳香族ビニル単量体単位)は、100:0~50:50が好ましく、90:10~60:40がより好ましく、85:15~70:30が特に好ましい。共役ジエン単量体単位と芳香族ビニル単量体単位との重量比が上記範囲内にあると、本発明の共役ジエン系ゴムの製造が容易となる。
 共役ジエン系重合体鎖においてイソプレンブロック以外の部分を得るために用いる単量体(混合物)に含有される共役ジエン単量体としては、例えば、1,3-ブタジエン、イソプレン(2-メチル-1,3-ブタジエン)、2,3-ジメチル-1,3-ブタジエン、2-クロロ-1,3-ブタジエン、1,3-ペンタジエン、および1,3-ヘキサジエンなどが挙げられる。これらの中でも、1,3-ブタジエン、またはイソプレンを用いることが好ましく、1,3-ブタジエンを用いることがより好ましい。これらの共役ジエン単量体は、それぞれ単独で、または2種以上を組み合わせて用いることができる。なお、イソプレンを用いる場合は、イソプレンブロックと区別するために、イソプレンブロック以外の部分のイソプレン単量体単位含有量を70重量%未満にすることが好ましい。
 また、共役ジエン系重合体鎖を得るために用いる単量体(混合物)に含有される芳香族ビニル単量体としては、特に限定されないが、例えば、スチレン、α-メチルスチレン、2-メチルスチレン、3-メチルスチレン、4-メチルスチレン、2-エチルスチレン、3-エチルスチレン、4-エチルスチレン、2,4-ジイソプロピルスチレン、2,4-ジメチルスチレン、4-t-ブチルスチレン、5-t-ブチル-2-メチルスチレン、ビニルナフタレン、ジメチルアミノメチルスチレン、およびジメチルアミノエチルスチレンなどを挙げることができる。これらの中でも、スチレン、α-メチルスチレン、および4-メチルスチレンが好ましく、スチレンがより好ましい。これらの芳香族ビニル単量体は、それぞれ単独で、または2種以上を組み合わせて用いることができる。
 単量体(混合物)には、本発明における本質的な特性を損なわない範囲において、所望により、共役ジエン単量体および芳香族ビニル単量体以外の他の単量体を含有することができる。他の単量体としては、例えば、アクリロニトリル、およびメタクリロニトリルなどのα,β-不飽和ニトリル;アクリル酸、メタクリル酸、および無水マレイン酸などの不飽和カルボン酸または酸無水物;メタクリル酸メチル、アクリル酸エチル、およびアクリル酸ブチルなどの不飽和カルボン酸エステル;1,5-ヘキサジエン、1,6-ヘプタジエン、1,7-オクタジエン、ジシクロペンタジエン、および5-エチリデン-2-ノルボルネンなどの非共役ジエンなどを挙げることができる。これらの単量体の使用量は、単量体(混合物)中に、10重量%以下とするのが好ましく、5重量%以下とするのがより好ましい。
 単量体(混合物)の重合に用いられる不活性溶媒については、上述のイソプレンブロックの調製に用いられる不活性溶媒と同様である。
 単量体(混合物)の重合開始剤としては、上述した活性末端を有するイソプレンブロック(以下、単に、「イソプレニル-M」ともいう)をそのまま用いる。重合開始剤の使用量は、目的とする分子量に応じて決定すればよいが、単量体(混合物)100g当り、通常、0.1~5mmol、好ましくは0.2~2mmol、より好ましくは0.3~1.5mmolの範囲である。
 単量体(混合物)を重合するに際し、重合温度は、通常、-80~+150℃、好ましくは0~100℃、より好ましくは20~90℃の範囲である。重合様式としては、回分式、連続式など、いずれの様式をも採用できる。共役ジエン系重合体鎖におけるイソプレンブロック以外の部分を、共役ジエン単量体と芳香族ビニル単量体との共重合体鎖とする場合、あるいは、2種以上の共役ジエン単量体からなる共重合体鎖とする場合には、結合のランダム性を制御しやすい点で、回分式が好ましい。
 共役ジエン系重合体鎖におけるイソプレンブロック以外の部分を、共役ジエン単量体と芳香族ビニル単量体との共重合体鎖とする場合、あるいは、2種以上の共役ジエン単量体からなる共重合体鎖とする場合の各単量体の結合様式は、例えば、ブロック状、テーパー状、またはランダム状など種々の結合様式とすることができる。これらの中でも、ランダム状が好ましい。共役ジエン単量体と芳香族ビニル単量体との結合様式をランダム状にする場合、重合系内において、共役ジエン単量体と芳香族ビニル単量体との合計量に対する芳香族ビニル単量体の比率が高くなりすぎないように、共役ジエン単量体または共役ジエン単量体と芳香族ビニル単量体とを、連続的または断続的に重合系内に供給して重合することが好ましい。
 共役ジエン系重合体鎖のイソプレンブロック以外の部分における共役ジエン単量体単位中のビニル結合含有量を調節するためには、イソプレンブロックにおけるイソプレン単量体単位中のビニル結合含有量の調節時と同様、重合に際し、不活性有機溶媒に極性化合物を添加することが好ましい。ただし、イソプレンブロックの調製時に、不活性有機溶媒に、共役ジエン系重合体鎖のイソプレンブロック以外の部分における共役ジエン単量体単位中のビニル結合含有量を調節するのに十分な量の極性化合物を添加している場合は、新たに極性化合物を添加しなくてもよい。ビニル結合含有量を調節するために用いられる極性化合物についての具体例は、上述のイソプレンブロックの調製に用いられる極性化合物と同様である。極性化合物の使用量は、目的とするビニル結合含有量に応じて決定すればよく、重合開始剤1molに対して、好ましくは0.01~100mol、より好ましくは0.1~30molの範囲で調節すればよい。極性化合物の使用量がこの範囲にあると、共役ジエン単量体単位中のビニル結合含有量の調節が容易であり、かつ、重合開始剤の失活による不具合も発生し難い。
 共役ジエン系重合体鎖のイソプレンブロック以外の部分における共役ジエン単量体単位中のビニル結合含有量は、好ましくは10~90重量%、より好ましくは30~80重量%、特に好ましくは40~70重量%である。共役ジエン系重合体鎖のイソプレンブロック以外の部分における共役ジエン単量体単位中のビニル結合含有量が上記範囲内にあると、最終的に得られるタイヤの低発熱性が優れたものとなる。
 (共役ジエン系重合体鎖)
 本発明の共役ジエン系ゴムを得るために用いる、少なくとも一方の端がイソプレンブロックであり、他方の端が活性末端である共役ジエン系重合体鎖(以下、単に、「共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)」ともいう)の重量平均分子量は、特に限定されないが、その重量平均分子量は、1,000~2,000,000が好ましく、10,000~1,500,000がより好ましく、100,000~1,000,000が特に好ましい。共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)の重量平均分子量が上記範囲内にあるとき、この共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)を用いて得られるタイヤの強度と低発熱性とのバランスが良好となる。
 共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)の重量平均分子量(Mw)と数平均分子量(Mn)との比(Mw/Mn)で表わされる分子量分布は、好ましくは1.0~3.0、より好ましくは1.0~2.5、特に好ましくは1.0~2.2である。この分子量分布の値(Mw/Mn)が上記範囲内にあると、本発明の共役ジエン系ゴムの製造が容易となる。
 共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)は、上述したように、不活性溶媒中、まず重合開始剤を用いてイソプレン単量体(混合物)をリビング重合させることにより、活性末端を有するイソプレンブロック(イソプレニル-M)を形成し、次いで、このイソプレニル-Mを新たな重合開始剤として用いて、単量体(混合物)をリビング重合させることにより得ることができる。この際、単量体(混合物)の溶液中にイソプレニル-Mを加えてもよいし、イソプレニル-Mの溶液中に単量体(混合物)を加えてもよいが、単量体(混合物)の溶液中にイソプレニル-Mを加えることが好ましい。また、単量体(混合物)の重合転化率が通常95%以上になった時点で、新たにイソプレン単量体(混合物)を添加することにより、共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)の活性末端側にもイソプレンブロックを形成させることができる。このイソプレン単量体(混合物)の使用量は、初めの重合反応に使用した重合開始剤1molに対して、好ましくは10~100mol、より好ましくは15~70mol、特に好ましくは20~35molである。
 共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)は、芳香族ビニル単量体単位を含有しなくともよいが、含有することが好ましい。共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)における共役ジエン単量体単位と芳香族ビニル単量体単位との重量比(共役ジエン単量体単位:芳香族ビニル単量体単位)の好ましい範囲は、上述のイソプレンブロック以外の部分と同じである。また、共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)における共役ジエン単量体単位中のビニル結合含有量の好ましい範囲も、上述のイソプレンブロック以外の部分と同じである。
 〔変性剤〕
 本発明の共役ジエン系ゴムは、以上のようにして得られる共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)の活性末端と、エポキシ基およびヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基の少なくとも何れかを1分子中に1以上有し、エポキシ基の1分子中の数、およびヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基に含まれるヒドロカルビルオキシ基の1分子中の数の合計が3以上である変性剤と、が反応してなるものである。
 本明細書において「変性剤」とは、1分子中に、共役ジエン系重合体鎖の活性末端と反応する官能基を有する化合物である。ただし、含有する上記官能基は、シリカと親和性を有するものに限る。本発明において、上記官能基は、エポキシ基、およびヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基に含まれるヒドロカルビルオキシ基である。
 本発明の共役ジエン系ゴムに含有される構造体を形成するのに用いられる変性剤は、エポキシ基およびヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基の少なくとも何れかを1分子中に1以上有し、エポキシ基の1分子中の数およびヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基に含まれるヒドロカルビルオキシ基の1分子中の数の合計が3以上である変性剤(以下、単に、「変性剤(C)」ともいう)であれば、特に限定されない。すなわち、変性剤(C)としては、分子中に3以上のエポキシ基を有するもの、および分子中にヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基を有し、ヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基においてケイ素原子と結合しているヒドロカルビルオキシ基が分子中に3以上含まれているものを用いることができ、それに加えて、分子中にエポキシ基およびヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基の両方を有し、1分子内において、エポキシ基の数と、ヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基においてケイ素原子と結合しているヒドロカルビルオキシ基の数との合計が3以上のものを用いることもできる。なお、分子中にヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基を有し、ヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基においてケイ素原子と結合しているヒドロカルビルオキシ基が分子中に2以上含まれているという場合、1つのヒドロカルビルオキシ基を有するケイ素原子が2以上含まれているもの、同一のケイ素原子に2以上のヒドロカルビルオキシ基を有するもの、およびこれらの組合せをいう。なお、ヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基のケイ素原子にヒドロカルビルオキシ基以外の有機基が結合している場合、この有機基については特に制限はない。
 なお、共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)が、エポキシ基を有する変性剤(C)と反応する場合は、変性剤(C)における少なくとも一部のエポキシ基が開環することにより、エポキシ基が開環した部分の炭素原子と共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)の活性末端との結合が形成されると考えられる。また、共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)が、ヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基を有する変性剤(C)と反応する場合は、変性剤(C)のヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基における少なくとも一部のヒドロカルビルオキシ基が脱離することにより、変性剤(C)が含有するケイ素原子と共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)の活性末端との結合が形成されると考えられる。
 エポキシ基の1分子中の数とヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基に含まれるヒドロカルビルオキシ基の1分子中の数との合計が3以上である変性剤(C)を用いることにより、3以上の上記共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)が上記変性剤(C)を介して結合してなる構造体を有する共役ジエン系ゴムを得ることができる。その結果、その共役ジエン系ゴムを含有するゴム組成物から得られるタイヤは、強度、低発熱性、ウエットグリップ性、および操縦安定性に優れるものとなる。
 変性剤(C)に含まれ得るヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基としては、例えば、メトキシシリル基、エトキシシリル基、プロポキシシリル基およびブトキシシリル基などのアルコキシシリル基、ならびにフェノキシシリル基などのアリールオキシシリル基が挙げられる。これらの中でも、アルコキシシリル基が好ましく、エトキシシリル基がより好ましい。
 また、変性剤(C)に含まれ得るヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基に含まれるヒドロカルビルオキシ基としては、例えば、メトキシ基、エトキシ基、プロポキシ基およびブトキシ基などのアルコキシ基、ならびにフェノキシ基などのアリールオキシ基が挙げられる。これらの中でも、アルコキシ基が好ましく、エトキシ基がより好ましい。
 変性剤(C)として、特に好ましいものとしては、下記一般式(I)で表されるポリオルガノシロキサン、下記一般式(II)で表されるポリオルガノシロキサン、および下記一般式(III)で表されるポリオルガノシロキサン、ならびに下記一般式(IV)で表されるヒドロカルビルオキシシランが挙げられる。これらの中でも、強度、低発熱性、ウエットグリップ性、および操縦安定性により優れるタイヤを得るためには、ポリオルガノシロキサンを用いることが好ましく、下記一般式(I)で表されるポリオルガノシロキサンを用いることがより好ましい。

 一般式(I)で表されるポリオルガノシロキサンにおいて、一般式(I)のR~R、XおよびXを構成し得る炭素数1~6のアルキル基としては、例えば、メチル基、エチル基、n-プロピル基、イソプロピル基、ブチル基、ペンチル基、ヘキシル基、およびシクロヘキシル基などが挙げられる。炭素数6~12のアリール基としては、例えば、フェニル基、およびメチルフェニル基などが挙げられる。これらのなかでも、ポリオルガノシロキサン自体の製造の観点から、メチル基、およびエチル基が好ましい。
 一般式(I)で表されるポリオルガノシロキサンにおいて、X、X、およびXを構成し得る炭素数1~5のアルコキシ基としては、例えば、メトキシ基、エトキシ基、プロポキシ基、イソプロポキシ基、およびブトキシ基などが挙げられる。なかでも、共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)の活性末端との反応性の観点から、メトキシ基、およびエトキシ基が好ましい。
 一般式(I)で表されるポリオルガノシロキサンにおいて、X、X、およびXを構成し得る炭素数6~14のアリールオキシ基としては、例えば、フェノキシ基、およびトリルオキシ基などが挙げられる。
 また、一般式(I)で表されるポリオルガノシロキサンにおいて、X、X、およびXを構成し得るエポキシ基を含有する炭素数4~12の基としては、下記一般式(V)で表される基が挙げられる。
 -Z-Z-E ・・(V)
 一般式(V)中、Zは、炭素数1~10のアルキレン基またはアルキルアリーレン基であり、Zはメチレン基、硫黄原子、または酸素原子であり、Eはエポキシ基を有する炭素数2~10のヒドロカルビル基である。
 一般式(V)で表される基において、Zが酸素原子であるものが好ましく、Zが酸素原子であり、かつ、Eがグリシジル基であるものがより好ましく、Zが炭素数3のアルキレン基であり、Zが酸素原子であり、かつ、Eがグリシジル基であるものが特に好ましい。
 一般式(I)で表されるポリオルガノシロキサンにおいて、XおよびXとしては、上記の中でも、エポキシ基を含有する炭素数4~12の基、または炭素数1~6のアルキル基が好ましく、また、Xとしては、上記の中でも、エポキシ基を含有する炭素数4~12の基が好ましく、XおよびXが炭素数1~6のアルキル基であり、かつ、Xがエポキシ基を含有する炭素数4~12の基であることがより好ましい。
 一般式(I)で表されるポリオルガノシロキサンにおいて、X、すなわち2~20のアルキレングリコールの繰返し単位を含有する基としては、下記一般式(VI)で表される基が好ましい。

 一般式(VI)中、tは2~20の整数であり、Pは炭素数2~10のアルキレン基またはアルキルアリーレン基であり、Rは水素原子またはメチル基であり、Qは炭素数1~10のアルコキシ基またはアリールオキシ基である。これらの中でも、tが2~8の整数であり、Pが炭素数3のアルキレン基であり、Rが水素原子であり、かつ、Qがメトキシ基であるものが好ましい。
 一般式(I)で表されるポリオルガノシロキサンにおいて、mは3~200、好ましくは20~150、より好ましくは30~120の整数である。mが3以上であると、変性剤(C)と共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)とを反応させて得られる共役ジエン系ゴムを含有するゴム組成物の加工性、および上記共役ジエン系ゴムを用いて得られるタイヤの低発熱性がより優れたものとなる。また、mが200以下であると、ポリオルガノシロキサン自体の製造がより容易になると共に、その粘度が高くなりすぎず、取り扱いもより容易となる。
 また、一般式(I)で表されるポリオルガノシロキサンにおいて、nは0~200の整数、好ましくは0~150の整数、より好ましくは0~120の整数である。kは0~200の整数、好ましくは0~150の整数、より好ましくは0~120の整数である。m、n、およびkの合計数は、400以下であることが好ましく、300以下であることがより好ましく、250以下であることが特に好ましい。m、n、およびkの合計数が400以下であるとポリオルガノシロキサン自体の製造が容易になると共に、その粘度が高くなりすぎず、取り扱いも容易となる。
 一般式(II)および一般式(III)で表されるポリオルガノシロキサンにおいて、炭素数1~6のアルキル基、炭素数6~12のアリール基、炭素数1~5のアルコキシ基、炭素数6~14のアリールオキシ基、およびエポキシ基を含有する炭素数4~12の基は、一般式(I)のポリオルガノシロキサンについて説明したものと同様である。
 一般式(IV)で表されるヒドロカルビルオキシシランにおいて、炭素数1~6のアルキル基、および炭素数6~12のアリール基は、一般式(I)のポリオルガノシロキサンについて説明したものと同様である。
 一般式(IV)で表されるヒドロカルビルオキシシランにおいて、炭素数1~12のアルキレン基としては、例えば、メチレン基、エチレン基、およびプロピレン基などが挙げられる。これらの中でも、プロピレン基が好ましい。
 一般式(IV)で表されるヒドロカルビルオキシシランの具体例としては、N,N-ビス(トリメチルシリル)-3-アミノプロピルトリメトキシシラン、N,N-ビス(トリメチルシリル)-3-アミノプロピルトリエトキシシラン、N,N-ビス(トリメチルシリル)アミノエチルトリメトキシシラン、およびN,N-ビス(トリメチルシリル)アミノエチルトリエトキシシランなどを挙げることができる。これらの中でも、N,N-ビス(トリメチルシリル)-3-アミノプロピルトリメトキシシランおよびN,N-ビス(トリメチルシリル)-3-アミノプロピルトリエトキシシランを用いることが好ましい。
 変性剤(C)の他の例としては、テトラメトキシシランなどのテトラアルコキシシラン化合物;ビス(トリメトキシシリル)メタンなどのヘキサアルコキシシラン化合物;メチルトリエトキシシランなどのアルキルアルコキシシラン化合物;ビニルトリメトキシシランンなどのアルケニルアルコシキシシラン化合物;フェニルトリメトキシシランなどのアリールアルコキシシラン化合物;トリエトキシクロロシランなどのハロゲノアルコキシシラン化合物;3-グリシドキシエチルトリメトキシシラン、3-グリシドキシブチルプロピルトリメトキシシラン、ビス(3-グリシドキシプロピル)ジメトキシシランなどのエポキシ基含有アルコキシシラン化合物;ビス(3-(トリエトキシシリル)プロピル)ジスルフィドなどの硫黄含有アルコキシシラン化合物;ビス(3-トリメトキシシリルプロピル)メチルアミンなどのアミノ基含有アルコキシシラン化合物;トリス(3-トリメトキシシリルプロピル)イソシアヌレートなどのイソシアネート基含有アルコキシシラン化合物;テトラグリシジル-1,3-ビスアミノメチルシクロヘキサンなどのエポキシ基含有化合物;などが挙げられる。
 変性剤(C)は、1種を単独で用いてもよいし、2種以上を組み合わせて用いることもできる。
 変性剤(C)の使用量は、特に限定されないが、重合反応に使用した重合開始剤1molに対して、共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)の活性末端と反応する変性剤(C)中の、エポキシ基と、ヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基に含まれるヒドロカルビルオキシ基との合計mol数の比が、通常、0.1~5であり、0.5~3であることが好ましい。変性剤(C)の使用量が上記範囲内であると、変性剤(C)と共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)とを反応させて得られる共役ジエン系ゴムを含有するゴム組成物の加工性、および上記共役ジエン系ゴムを用いて得られるタイヤの低発熱性がより優れたものとなる。
 共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)は、上述の変性剤(C)を反応させる前に、本発明の効果を阻害しない範囲で、重合停止剤、変性剤(C)以外の重合末端変性剤、およびカップリング剤などを重合系内に添加して、共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)の活性末端の一部を不活性化してもよい。
 このとき用いられる重合末端変性剤およびカップリング剤としては、例えば、N-メチル-2-ピロリドン、N-ビニル-2-ピロリドン、N-フェニル-2-ピロリドン、およびN-メチル-ε-カプロラクタムなどのN-置換環状アミド類;1,3-ジメチルエチレン尿素、および1,3-ジエチル-2-イミダゾリジノンなどのN-置換環状尿素類;4,4’-ビス(ジメチルアミノ)ベンゾフェノン、および4,4’-ビス(ジエチルアミノ)ベンゾフェノンなどのN-置換アミノケトン類;ジフェニルメタンジイソシアネート、および2,4-トリレンジイソシアネートなどの芳香族イソシアネート類;N,N-ジメチルアミノプロピルメタクリルアミドなどのN,N-ジ置換アミノアルキルメタクリルアミド類;4-N,N-ジメチルアミノベンズアルデヒドなどのN-置換アミノアルデヒド類;ジシクロヘキシルカルボジイミドなどのN-置換カルボジイミド類;N-エチルエチリデンイミン、N-メチルベンジリデンイミンなどのシッフ塩基類;4-ビニルピリジンなどのピリジル基含有ビニル化合物;四塩化錫、四塩化ケイ素、ヘキサクロロジシラン、ビス(トリクロロシリル)メタン、1,2-ビス(トリクロロシリル)エタン、1,3-ビス(トリクロロシリル)プロパン、1,4-ビス(トリクロロシリル)ブタン、1,5-ビス(トリクロロシリル)ペンタン、および1,6-ビス(トリクロロシリル)ヘキサンなどのハロゲン化金属化合物;などが挙げられる。これらの中でも、本発明の共役ジエン系ゴムは、ハロゲン化金属化合物をカップリング剤として併用して得られるものであることが好ましく、1分子中に5以上のケイ素-ハロゲン原子結合を有するハロゲン化ケイ素化合物をカップリング剤として併用して得られるものであることがより好ましく、1,6-ビス(トリクロロシリル)ヘキサンを用いることが特に好ましい。1分子中に5以上のケイ素-ハロゲン原子結合を有するハロゲン化ケイ素化合物をカップリング剤として併用して得られる高分岐共役ジエン系ゴムを用いて得られるタイヤは、操縦安定性がより優れる。
 カップリング剤の使用量は、本発明の効果を阻害しない範囲であれば特に制限されず、たとえば、1分子中に5以上のケイ素-ハロゲン原子結合を有するハロゲン化ケイ素化合物の場合、その使用量は、重合反応に使用した重合開始剤1molに対して、ハロゲン化ケイ素化合物のケイ素-ハロゲン原子結合のmol数の比が、0.001~0.25であることが好ましく、0.01~0.2であることがより好ましい。このようなカップリング剤の使用量が上記範囲内であると、カップリング剤と共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)とを反応させて得られる共役ジエン系ゴムを含有するゴム組成物の加工性、および上記共役ジエン系ゴムを用いて得られるタイヤの低発熱性がより優れたものとなる。
 これらのカップリング剤は、1種を単独で用いてもよいし、2種以上を組み合わせて用いてもよい。
 共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)を含有する溶液に、変性剤(C)およびカップリング剤などを添加する際には、反応を良好に制御する観点から、それらを不活性溶媒に溶解して重合系内に添加することが好ましい。その溶液濃度は、1~50重量%の範囲とすることが好ましい。
 〔共役ジエン系ゴム〕
 本発明の共役ジエン系ゴムは、共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)と、変性剤(C)とが反応することにより得られる共役ジエン系ゴムであり、具体的には、3以上の共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)が変性剤(C)を介して結合してなる構造体を5重量%以上含有するものである。
 共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)と変性剤(C)との反応は、例えば、この共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)を含有する溶液に、変性剤(C)を添加することにより行なうことができる。変性剤(C)、およびカップリング剤などを添加する時期は、特に限定されないが、共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)における重合反応が完結しておらず共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)を含有する溶液が単量体をも含有している状態、より具体的には、共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)を含有する溶液が、好ましくは100ppm以上、より好ましくは300~50,000ppmの単量体を含有している状態で、この溶液に変性剤(C)およびカップリング剤などを添加することが望ましい。変性剤(C)およびカップリング剤などの添加をこのように行なうことにより、共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)と重合系中に含まれる不純物との副反応を抑制して、反応を良好に制御することが可能となる。
 本発明の共役ジエン系ゴムを得るにあたり、変性剤(C)およびカップリング剤などを2種以上併用する場合において、それらを重合系に添加する順序は特に限定されない。変性剤(C)と、1分子中に5以上のケイ素-ハロゲン原子結合を有するカップリング剤としてのハロゲン化ケイ素化合物とを併用する場合においても、その添加順序は、特に限定されないが、カップリング剤の添加を変性剤(C)の添加より先に行なうことが好ましい。このような順序で添加を行なうことにより、カップリング剤を介して得られる高分岐共役ジエン系ゴムが得られやすくなり、その高分岐共役ジエン系ゴムを用いて得られるタイヤは、操縦安定性がより優れる。
 変性剤(C)、およびカップリング剤などを反応させるときの条件としては、温度が、通常、0~100℃、好ましくは30~90℃の範囲であり、それぞれの反応時間が、通常、1分~120分、好ましくは2分~60分の範囲である。
 共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)に変性剤(C)を反応させた後は、メタノールなどのアルコール、または水を添加して活性末端を失活させることが好ましい。
 共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)の活性末端を失活させた後、所望により、フェノール系安定剤、リン系安定剤、イオウ系安定剤などの老化防止剤、クラム化剤、およびスケール防止剤などを重合溶液に添加した後、直接乾燥およびスチームストリッピングにより重合溶液から重合溶媒を分離して、本発明の共役ジエン系ゴムを回収する。なお、重合溶液から重合溶媒を分離する前に、重合溶液に伸展油を混合し、本発明の共役ジエン系ゴムを油展ゴムとして回収してもよい。
 本発明の共役ジエン系ゴムを油展ゴムとして回収する場合に用いる伸展油としては、例えば、パラフィン系、芳香族系およびナフテン系の石油系軟化剤、植物系軟化剤、ならびに脂肪酸などが挙げられる。石油系軟化剤を用いる場合には、多環芳香族の含有量が3%未満であることが好ましい。この含有量は、IP346の方法(英国のTHE INSTITUTE PETROLEUMの検査方法)により測定される。伸展油を使用する場合、その使用量は、共役ジエン系ゴム100重量部に対して、通常、5~100重量部、好ましくは10~60重量部、より好ましくは20~50重量部である。
 本発明の共役ジエン系ゴムは、3以上の共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)が変性剤(C)を介して結合された構造体を5重量%以上含有してなり、より好ましくは5~40重量%含有してなり、特に好ましくは10~30重量%含有してなるものである。このような構造体を5重量%以上含有することにより、製造時における凝固性、および乾燥性が良好となり、さらには、シリカを配合したときに、より加工性に優れるゴム組成物、および低発熱性に優れるタイヤを与える。なお、最終的に得られた共役ジエン系重合体の全量に対する、3以上の共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)が変性剤(C)またはカップリング剤を介して結合された構造体の割合を3分岐以上のカップリング率として表す。これは、ゲルパーミエーションクロマトグラフィ(ポリスチレン換算)により測定することができる。ゲルパーミエーションクロマトグラフィ測定により得られたチャートより、全溶出面積に対する、分子量の最も小さいピークが示すピークトップ分子量の2.8倍以上のピークトップ分子量を有するピーク部分の面積比を、共役ジエン系重合体鎖(B)の3分岐以上のカップリング率とする。
 本発明の共役ジエン系ゴムの重量平均分子量は、特に限定されないが、ポリスチレン換算のゲルパーミエーションクロマトグラフィで測定される値として、通常、1,000~3,000,000、好ましくは100,000~2,000,000、より好ましくは300,000~1,500,000の範囲である。重量平均分子量が3,000,000以下であると、共役ジエン系ゴムへのシリカの配合が容易となり、ゴム組成物の加工性が優れたものとなる。また、重量平均分子量が1,000以上であると、得られるタイヤの低発熱性が優れたものとなる。
 本発明の共役ジエン系ゴムの重量平均分子量(Mw)と数平均分子量(Mn)との比(Mw/Mn)で表わされる分子量分布は、特に限定されないが、好ましくは1.1~3.0、より好ましくは1.2~2.5、特に好ましくは1.3~2.2である。この分子量分布の値(Mw/Mn)が3.0以下であると、得られるタイヤの低発熱性が優れたものとなる。
 本発明の共役ジエン系ゴムのムーニー粘度(ML1+4,100℃)も、特に限定されないが、通常、20~100、好ましくは30~90、より好ましくは40~80の範囲である。なお、共役ジエン系ゴムを油展ゴムとする場合は、その油展ゴムのムーニー粘度を上記の範囲とすることが好ましい。
 本発明の共役ジエン系ゴムは、架橋剤および充填剤などの配合剤を添加した上で、種々の用途に好適に用いることができる。これらの中でも、充填剤としてシリカを配合した場合に、強度、低発熱性、ウエットグリップ性、および操縦安定性に優れるタイヤを得るために好適に用いられるゴム組成物を与える。
 〔ゴム組成物〕
 本発明のゴム組成物は、上述した本発明の共役ジエン系ゴムを含有するゴム成分100重量部と、シリカ10~200重量部とを含有してなるものである。
 本発明のゴム組成物には、本発明の共役ジエン系ゴム以外のその他のゴムを配合してもよい。その他のゴムとしては、特に限定されないが、例えば、天然ゴム、ポリイソプレンゴム、乳化重合スチレン-ブタジエン共重合ゴム、溶液重合スチレン-ブタジエン共重合ゴム、ポリブタジエンゴム(1,2-ポリブタジエン重合体からなる結晶繊維を含むポリブタジエンゴムであってもよい)、スチレン-イソプレン共重合ゴム、ブタジエン-イソプレン共重合ゴム、スチレン-イソプレン-ブタジエン共重合ゴム、アクリロニトリル-ブタジエン共重合ゴム、およびアクリロニトリル-スチレン-ブタジエン共重合ゴムなどのうち、本発明の共役ジエン系ゴム以外のものをいう。これらのなかでも、天然ゴム、ポリイソプレンゴム、ポリブタジエンゴム、および溶液重合スチレン-ブタジエン共重合ゴムが好ましい。これらのゴムは、それぞれ単独で、または2種以上を組み合わせて使用することができる。
 本発明のゴム組成物において、本発明の共役ジエン系ゴムは、ゴム成分中の10~100重量%を占めることが好ましく、20~100重量%を占めることがより好ましく、50~100重量%を占めることが特に好ましい。このような割合で、本発明の共役ジエン系ゴムをゴム成分に含めることにより、強度、低発熱性、ウエットグリップ性、および操縦安定性に特に優れるタイヤを与えるゴム組成物を得ることができる。
 本発明のゴム組成物は、ゴム成分100重量部に対し、シリカを10~200重量部、好ましくは20~150重量部、より好ましくは30~120重量部含有するものである。このような量でシリカを用いることにより、本発明のゴム組成物を用いて得られるタイヤの低発熱性が特に良好となる。シリカとしては、特に限定されないが、例えば、乾式法ホワイトカーボン、湿式法ホワイトカーボン、コロイダルシリカ、および沈降シリカなどが挙げられる。これらの中でも、含水ケイ酸を主成分とする湿式法ホワイトカーボンが好ましい。また、カーボンブラック表面にシリカを担持させたカーボン-シリカデュアル・フェイズ・フィラーを用いてもよい。これらのシリカは、それぞれ単独で、あるいは2種以上を組み合わせて用いることができる。
 用いるシリカの窒素吸着比表面積(ASTM D3037-81に準じBET法で測定される)は、好ましくは50~300m/g、より好ましくは80~220m/g、特に好ましくは100~170m/gである。シリカの窒素吸着比表面積がこの範囲であると、より低発熱性に優れたタイヤを与えるゴム組成物が得られる。また、シリカのpHは、pH7未満であることが好ましく、pH5~6.9であることがより好ましい。
 タイヤの低発熱性をさらに改良する観点より、本発明のゴム組成物には、さらにシランカップリング剤を配合することが好ましい。シランカップリング剤としては、特に限定されないが、例えば、ビニルトリエトキシシラン、β-(3,4-エポキシシクロヘキシル)エチルトリメトキシシラン、N-(β-アミノエチル)-γ-アミノプロピルトリメトキシシラン、3-オクタチオ-1-プロピル-トリエトキシシラン、ビス(3-(トリエトキシシリル)プロピル)ジスルフィド、ビス(3-(トリエトキシシリル)プロピル)テトラスルフィド、γ-トリメトキシシリルプロピルジメチルチオカルバミルテトラスルフィド、およびγ-トリメトキシシリルプロピルベンゾチアジルテトラスルフィドなどを挙げることができる。これらの中でも、混練時のスコーチを避ける観点より、1分子中に含有される硫黄が4個以下のものが好ましい。これらのシランカップリング剤は、それぞれ単独で、あるいは2種以上を組み合わせて使用することができる。シランカップリング剤の配合量は、シリカ100重量部に対して、好ましくは0.1~30重量部、より好ましくは1~15重量部である。
 本発明のゴム組成物には、さらにファーネスブラック、アセチレンブラック、サーマルブラック、チャンネルブラック、およびグラファイトなどのカーボンブラックを配合してもよい。カーボンブラックを用いる場合、ファーネスブラックを用いることが好ましく、その具体例としては、SAF、ISAF、ISAF-HS、ISAF-LS、IISAF-HS、HAF、HAF-HS、HAF-LS、T-HS、T-NS、MAF、N234、およびFEFなどが挙げられる。これらのカーボンブラックは、それぞれ単独で、あるいは2種以上を組み合わせて用いることができる。カーボンブラックの配合量は、ゴム成分100重量部に対して、通常、120重量部以下であり、シリカとカーボンブラックの合計量は、ゴム成分100重量部に対して、25~120重量部が好ましく、30~100重量部がより好ましく、35~90重量部が特に好ましい。
 カーボンブラックの窒素吸着比表面積(NSA)は、好ましくは5~200m/g、より好ましくは20~150m/g、特に好ましくは40~130m/gであり、ジブチルフタレート(DBP)吸着量は、好ましくは5~200ml/100g、より好ましくは50~160ml/100g、特に好ましくは70~130ml/100gである。カーボンブラックの窒素吸着比表面積がこの範囲であると、低発熱性に特に優れるタイヤを与える、成形性が良好なゴム組成物を得ることができる。
 ゴム組成物にシリカおよびカーボンブラックなどの充填剤を添加する方法は特に限定されず、固形ゴムに対して添加して混練する方法(乾式混練法)、およびゴムの溶液に添加して凝固・乾燥させる方法(湿式混練法)などを適用することができる。
 本発明のゴム組成物は、架橋剤をさらに含有していることが好ましい。架橋剤としては、特に限定されないが、例えば、硫黄、ハロゲン化硫黄、有機過酸化物、キノンジオキシム類、有機多価アミン化合物、およびメチロール基を有するアルキルフェノール樹脂などが挙げられる。これらの中でも、硫黄が好ましく使用される。架橋剤の配合量は、ゴム組成物のゴム成分100重量部に対して、好ましくは0.1~15重量部、より好ましくは0.5~5重量部、特に好ましくは1~4重量部である。架橋剤の配合量が上記範囲にあると、架橋が十分に行われ、得られるゴム架橋物の機械的特性が優れる。
 架橋剤として、硫黄または含硫黄化合物を用いる場合には、架橋促進剤および架橋活性化剤を併用することが好ましい。架橋促進剤としては、特に限定されないが、例えば、スルフェンアミド系;グアニジン系;チオウレア系;チアゾール系;チウラム系;ジチオカルバミン酸塩系;キサントゲン酸系;などの各架橋促進剤を挙げることができるが、これらの中でも、スルフェンアミド系架橋促進剤を含むものが好ましい。架橋活性化剤としては、特に限定されないが、例えば、酸化亜鉛;ステアリン酸などの高級脂肪酸;などが挙げられる。架橋促進剤および架橋活性化剤は、それぞれ単独で、あるいは2種以上を組み合わせて用いられる。
 架橋促進剤および架橋活性化剤の配合量は、ゴム組成物のゴム成分100重量部に対して、それぞれ好ましくは0.05~15重量部、より好ましくは0.5~10重量部、特に好ましくは1~5重量部である。架橋促進剤および架橋活性化剤の配合量が上記範囲にあると、架橋が十分に行われ、得られるゴム架橋物の機械的特性が優れる。
 本発明のゴム組成物には、上述の成分以外に、老化防止剤;スコーチ防止剤;活性剤;プロセス油;可塑剤;滑剤;充填剤(上述した、シリカおよびカーボンブラックを除く);粘着付与剤;などの、ゴム加工分野において通常使用される配合剤を、配合目的に応じて、適宜配合できる。
 本発明のゴム組成物を得るためには、常法に従って各成分を混練すればよい。例えば、架橋剤および架橋促進剤を除く配合剤とゴム成分とを混練後、その混練物に、架橋剤および架橋促進剤を混合して目的のゴム組成物を得ることができる。架橋剤および架橋促進剤を除く配合剤とゴム成分との混練温度は、好ましくは80~200℃、より好ましくは100~180℃であり、その混練時間は、好ましくは30秒~30分である。混練物と架橋剤および架橋促進剤との混合は、通常、100℃以下、好ましくは80℃以下まで冷却後に行われる。
 本発明のゴム組成物は、例えば、架橋してタイヤとして用いることができる他、耐衝撃性ポリスチレン、ABS樹脂等の樹脂強化用ゴムなどとして用いることができる。
 〔ゴム架橋物〕
 本発明のゴム架橋物は、本発明のゴム組成物を成形および架橋してなる。本発明のゴム組成物を用いて、タイヤなどのゴム製品(ゴム架橋物)を構成する場合の架橋および成形方法は、特に限定されず、架橋物の形状、大きさなどに応じて選択すればよい。金型中に、架橋剤を配合したゴム組成物を充填して加熱することにより成形と同時に架橋してもよく、架橋剤を配合したゴム組成物を予め成形した後、それを加熱して架橋してもよい。成形時の温度は、好ましくは20~140℃、より好ましくは40~130℃である。架橋温度は、好ましくは120~200℃、より好ましくは140~180℃であり、架橋時間は、通常、1~120分である。
 本発明のゴム架橋物は、例えば、タイヤ、ホース、窓枠、ベルト、靴底、防振ゴム、自動車部品、および免震ゴムなどのゴム製品に用いられる。これらの中でも、本発明のゴム架橋物は、特に強度、低発熱性、ウエットグリップ性、および操縦安定性に優れるので、タイヤ用途に好適に用いられる。本発明のゴム架橋物は、例えば、オールシーズンタイヤ、高性能タイヤ、およびスタッドレスタイヤなどの各種タイヤにおいて、トレッド、カーカス、サイドウォール、およびビード部などのタイヤ各部位への利用が可能であるが、特に低発熱性に優れるので、低燃費タイヤのトレッド用として、特に好適に用いられる。
 以上のように、本発明の共役ジエン系ゴムは、少なくとも一方の端がイソプレン単量体単位を70重量%以上有するイソプレンブロックであり、他方の端が活性末端である共役ジエン系重合体鎖と、
 エポキシ基およびヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基の少なくとも何れかを1分子中に1以上有し、エポキシ基の1分子中の数およびヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基に含まれるヒドロカルビルオキシ基の1分子中の数の合計が3以上である変性剤と、
が反応することにより得られる、3以上の上記共役ジエン系重合体鎖が上記変性剤を介して結合してなる構造体を、5重量%以上含有する、ことを特徴としている。
 また、本発明の共役ジエン系ゴムは、上記イソプレンブロックにおけるイソプレン単量体単位中のビニル結合含有量が21~85重量%であることがより好ましい。
 また、本発明の共役ジエン系ゴムは、上記共役ジエン系重合体鎖におけるイソプレンブロック以外の部分が、共役ジエン単量体の単独重合体鎖、または共役ジエン単量体と芳香族ビニル単量体との共重合体鎖であり、共役ジエン単量体単位と芳香族ビニル単量体単位との重量比(共役ジエン単量体単位:芳香族ビニル単量体単位)が、100:0~50:50であることがより好ましい。
 さらに、本発明によれば、上記の共役ジエン系ゴムを含有するゴム成分100重量部と、シリカ10~200重量部とを含有してなる、ゴム組成物が提供される。
 また、本発明のゴム組成物は、架橋剤をさらに含有してなることがより好ましい。
 さらに本発明によれば、上記のゴム組成物を成形および架橋してなるゴム架橋物が提供される。
  さらに本発明によれば、上記のゴム架橋物を用いてなるタイヤが提供される。
 さらに本発明によれば、不活性溶媒中、イソプレン単量体またはイソプレン単量体を含有する単量体混合物を、重合開始剤を用いてリビング重合することにより、活性末端を有するイソプレンブロックを形成させ、次いで、共役ジエン単量体または共役ジエン単量体を含有する単量体混合物を、前記イソプレンブロックに結合させ、引き続きリビング重合することにより、少なくとも一方の端がイソプレン単量体単位を70重量%以上有するイソプレンブロックであり、他方の端が活性末端である共役ジエン系重合体鎖を得て、
 上記共役ジエン系重合体鎖の活性末端と、エポキシ基およびヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基の少なくとも何れかを1分子中に1以上有し、エポキシ基の1分子中の数およびヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基に含まれるヒドロカルビルオキシ基の1分子中の数の合計が3以上である変性剤とを、
 重合反応に使用した重合開始剤1molに対して、上記共役ジエン系重合体鎖の活性末端と反応する変性剤中の、エポキシ基と、ヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基に含まれるヒドロカルビルオキシ基との合計mol数の比が、0.1~5になるように反応させる、共役ジエン系ゴムの製造方法が提供される。
 以下に実施例を示し、本発明の実施の形態についてさらに詳しく説明する。もちろん、本発明は以下の実施例に限定されるものではなく、細部については様々な態様が可能であることはいうまでもない。さらに、本発明は上述した実施形態に限定されるものではなく、請求項に示した範囲で種々の変更が可能であり、それぞれ開示された技術的手段を適宜組み合わせて得られる実施形態についても本発明の技術的範囲に含まれる。
 なお、各例中の部および%は、特に断りのない限り、重量基準である。
 〔評価方法〕
 各種の物性については、以下の方法に従って評価した。
 (重量平均分子量、分子量分布、およびカップリング率)
 重量平均分子量、分子量分布、およびカップリング率については、ゲルパーミエーションクロマトグラフィにより、ポリスチレン換算の分子量に基づくチャートを得て、そのチャートに基づいて求めた。なお、ゲルパーミエーションクロマトグラフィの具体的な測定条件は、以下の通りである。
 測定器  :HLC-8020(東ソー社製)
 カラム  :GMH-HR-H(東ソー社製)2本を直列に連結した
 検出器  :示差屈折計RI-8020(東ソー社製)
 溶離液  :テトラヒドロフラン
 カラム温度:40℃
 カップリング率については、全溶出面積に対する、分子量の最も小さいピークが示すピークトップ分子量の2.8倍以上のピークトップ分子量を有するピーク部分の面積比を、共役ジエン系重合体鎖の3分岐以上のカップリング率として示す。
 (スチレン単位含有量およびビニル結合含有量)
 スチレン単位含有量、およびビニル結合含有量については、H-NMRにより測定した。
 (ムーニー粘度(ML1+4,100℃))
 ムーニー粘度については、JIS K6300に従い、ムーニー粘度計(島津製作所社製)を用いて測定した。
 (引張強度)
 引張強度については、JIS K6301に従って、引張試験を行ない、300%伸張時の応力を測定した。この特性については、基準サンプルとして後述する比較例5の測定値を100とする指数で示した。この指数が大きいものほど、ゴム架橋物の引張強度に優れる。
 (ウエットグリップ性)
 ウエットグリップ性については、長さ50mm、幅12.7mm、厚さ2mmの試験片を、レオメトリックス社製ARESを用い、動的歪み0.5%、10Hzの条件で0℃におけるtanδを測定した。この特性については、基準サンプルとして後述する比較例5の測定値を100とする指数で示した。この指数が大きいものほど、ゴム架橋物をタイヤに用いた際のウエットグリップ性に優れる。
 (低発熱性)
 低発熱性については、長さ50mm、幅12.7mm、厚さ2mmの試験片を、レオメトリックス社製ARESを用い、動的歪み2.5%、10Hzの条件で60℃におけるtanδを測定した。この特性については、基準サンプルとして後述する比較例5の測定値を100とする指数で示した。この指数が小さいものほど、ゴム架橋物をタイヤに用いた際の低発熱性に優れる。
 (操縦安定性)
 操縦安定性については、JIS K6301に従って、引張試験を行ない、(300%伸張時の応力)/(100%伸長時の応力)の値を測定・計算した。この数値が大きいものほど、ゴム架橋物をタイヤに用いた際の操縦安定性に優れる。
 〔実施例1:共役ジエン系ゴムIの調製〕
 窒素置換された100mlアンプル瓶に、シクロヘキサン28g、およびテトラメチルエチレンジアミン8.6mmolを添加し、さらに、n-ブチルリチウム6.1mmolを添加した。次いで、イソプレン8.0gをゆっくりと添加し、60℃のアンプル瓶内で120分反応させることにより、開始剤1を得た。この開始剤1(イソプレンブロック)について、重量平均分子量、分子量分布、およびビニル結合含有量を測定した。これらの測定結果を表1に示す。
 次に、攪拌機付きオートクレーブに、窒素雰囲気下、シクロヘキサン4000g、1,3-ブタジエン357.7g、およびスチレン132.3gを仕込んだ後、開始剤1を全量加え、40℃で重合を開始した。重合を開始してから10分経過後、1,3-ブタジエン195.3g、スチレン14.7gを60分間かけて連続的に添加した。重合反応中の最高温度は60℃であった。連続添加終了後、さらに20分間重合反応を継続し、重合転化率が95%から100%の範囲になったことを確認してから、次いで、1,6-ビス(トリクロロシリル)ヘキサン0.08mmolを20重量パーセント濃度のシクロヘキサン溶液の状態で添加し、10分間反応させた。さらに、下記式(VII)で表されるポリオルガノシロキサンA0.027mmolを20重量パーセント濃度のキシレン溶液の状態で添加し、30分間反応させた。その後、重合停止剤として、使用したn-ブチルリチウムの2倍モルに相当する量のメタノールを添加して、共役ジエン系ゴムIを含有する溶液を得た。この溶液に、老化防止剤として、イルガノックス1520L(チバスペシャリティーケミカルズ社製)を、共役ジエン系ゴムI 100部に対して0.15部添加した後、スチームストリッピングにより溶媒を除去し、60℃で24時間真空乾燥して、固形状の共役ジエン系ゴムIを得た。

 〔実施例2:共役ジエン系ゴムIIの調製〕
 窒素置換された100mlアンプル瓶に、シクロヘキサン28g、およびテトラメチルエチレンジアミン7.5mmolを添加し、さらに、n-ブチルリチウム5.4mmolを添加した。次いで、イソプレン7.0gをゆっくりと添加し、70℃のアンプル瓶内で120分反応させることにより、開始剤2を得た。この開始剤2(イソプレンブロック)について、重量平均分子量、分子量分布、およびビニル結合含有量を測定した。これらの測定結果を表1に示す。
 次に、攪拌機付きオートクレーブに、窒素雰囲気下、シクロヘキサン4000g、1,3-ブタジエン357.7g、およびスチレン132.3gを仕込んだ後、さらに、開始剤2を全量加え、40℃で重合を開始した。重合を開始してから10分経過後、1,3-ブタジエン195.3g、およびスチレン14.7gを60分間かけて連続的に添加した。重合反応中の最高温度は60℃であった。連続添加終了後、さらに20分間重合反応を継続し、重合転化率が95%から100%の範囲になったことを確認してから、次いで、上記式(VII)で表されるポリオルガノシロキサンA0.023mmolを20重量パーセント濃度のキシレン溶液の状態で添加し、30分間反応させた。その後、重合停止剤として、使用したn-ブチルリチウムの2倍モルに相当する量のメタノールを添加して、共役ジエン系ゴムIIを含有する溶液を得た。この溶液に、老化防止剤として、イルガノックス1520L(チバスペシャリティーケミカルズ社製)を、共役ジエン系ゴムII 100部に対して0.15部添加した後、スチームストリッピングにより溶媒を除去し、60℃で24時間真空乾燥して、固形状の共役ジエン系ゴムIIを得た。
 このゴムについて、重量平均分子量、分子量分布、カップリング率、スチレン単位含有量、ビニル結合含有量、およびムーニー粘度を測定した。これらの測定結果を表1に示す。
 〔実施例3:共役ジエン系ゴムIIIの調製〕
 窒素置換された100mlアンプル瓶に、シクロヘキサン50g、およびテトラメチルエチレンジアミン0.9mmolを添加し、さらに、n-ブチルリチウム5.4mmolを添加した。次いで、イソプレン9.0gをゆっくりと添加し、70℃のアンプル瓶内で120分反応させることにより、開始剤3を得た。この開始剤3(イソプレンブロック)について、重量平均分子量、分子量分布、およびビニル結合含有量を測定した。これらの測定結果を表1に示す。
 次に、攪拌機付きオートクレーブに、窒素雰囲気下、シクロヘキサン4000g、1,3-ブタジエン357.7g、およびスチレン132.3gを仕込んだ後、テトラメチルエチレンジアミン6.6mmolを添加し、開始剤3を全量加え、40℃で重合を開始した。重合を開始してから10分経過後、1,3-ブタジエン195.3g、およびスチレン14.7gを60分間かけて連続的に添加した。重合反応中の最高温度は60℃であった。連続添加終了後、さらに20分間重合反応を継続し、重合転化率が95%から100%の範囲になったことを確認してから、次いで、上記式(VII)で表されるポリオルガノシロキサンA0.023mmolを20重量パーセント濃度のキシレン溶液の状態で添加し、30分間反応させた。その後、重合停止剤として、使用したn-ブチルリチウムの2倍モルに相当する量のメタノールを添加して、共役ジエン系ゴムIIIを含有する溶液を得た。この溶液に、老化防止剤として、イルガノックス1520L(チバスペシャリティーケミカルズ社製)を、共役ジエン系ゴムIII 100部に対して0.15部添加した後、スチームストリッピングにより溶媒を除去し、60℃で24時間真空乾燥して、固形状の共役ジエン系ゴムIIIを得た。

 〔実施例4:共役ジエン系ゴムIVの調製〕
 窒素置換された100mlアンプル瓶に、シクロヘキサン50g、およびテトラメチルエチレンジアミン7.0mmolを添加し、さらに、n-ブチルリチウム5.1mmolを添加した。次いで、イソプレン10.2gをゆっくりと添加し、60℃のアンプル瓶内で120分反応させることにより、開始剤4を得た。この開始剤4(イソプレンブロック)について、重量平均分子量、分子量分布、およびビニル結合含有量を測定した。これらの測定結果を表1に示す。
 次に、攪拌機付きオートクレーブに、窒素雰囲気下、シクロヘキサン4000g、1,3-ブタジエン357.7g、およびスチレン132.3gを仕込んだ後、開始剤4を全量加え、40℃で重合を開始した。重合を開始してから10分経過後、1,3-ブタジエン195.3g、およびスチレン14.7gを60分間かけて連続的に添加した。重合反応中の最高温度は60℃であった。連続添加終了後、さらに20分間重合反応を継続し、重合転化率が95%から100%の範囲になったことを確認してから、次いで、N,N-ビス(トリメチルシリル)-3-アミノプロピルトリエトキシシラン0.55mmolを20重量パーセント濃度のキシレン溶液の状態で添加し、10分間反応させた。次いで、N,N-ビス(トリメチルシリル)-3-アミノプロピルトリエトキシシラン2.5mmolを20重量パーセント濃度のキシレン溶液の状態で添加し、30分間反応させた。その後、重合停止剤として、使用したn-ブチルリチウムの2倍モルに相当する量のメタノールを添加して、共役ジエン系ゴムIVを含有する溶液を得た。この溶液に、老化防止剤として、イルガノックス1520L(チバスペシャリティーケミカルズ社製)を共役ジエン系ゴムIV 100部に対して0.15部添加した後、スチームストリッピングにより溶媒を除去し、60℃で24時間真空乾燥して、固形状の共役ジエン系ゴムIVを得た。
 このゴムについて、重量平均分子量、分子量分布、カップリング率、スチレン単位含有量、ビニル結合含有量、およびムーニー粘度を測定した。これらの測定結果を表1に示す。
 〔比較例1:共役ジエン系ゴムiの調製〕
 窒素置換された100mlアンプル瓶に、シクロヘキサン50g、およびテトラメチルエチレンジアミン7.0mmolを添加し、さらに、n-ブチルリチウム5.1mmolを添加した。次いで、イソプレン9.8gをゆっくりと添加し、60℃のアンプル瓶内で120分反応させることにより、開始剤5を得た。この開始剤5(イソプレンブロック)について、重量平均分子量、分子量分布、およびビニル結合含有量を測定した。これらの測定結果を表1に示す。
 次に、攪拌機付きオートクレーブに、窒素雰囲気下、シクロヘキサン4000g、1,3-ブタジエン357.7g、およびスチレン132.3gを仕込んだ後、開始剤5を全量加え、40℃で重合を開始した。重合を開始してから10分経過後、1,3-ブタジエン195.3g、およびスチレン14.7gを60分間かけて連続的に添加した。重合反応中の最高温度は60℃であった。連続添加終了後、さらに20分間重合反応を継続し、重合転化率が95%から100%の範囲になったことを確認してから、次いで、四塩化錫0.51mmolを20重量パーセント濃度のシクロヘキサン溶液の状態で添加し、30分間反応させた。その後、重合停止剤として、使用したn-ブチルリチウムの2倍モルに相当する量のメタノールを添加して、共役ジエン系ゴムiを含有する溶液を得た。この溶液に、老化防止剤として、イルガノックス1520L(チバスペシャリティーケミカルズ社製)を、共役ジエン系ゴムi 100部に対して0.15部添加した後、スチームストリッピングにより溶媒を除去し、60℃で24時間真空乾燥して、固形状の共役ジエン系ゴムiを得た。
 このゴムについて、重量平均分子量、分子量分布、カップリング率、スチレン単位含有量、ビニル結合含有量、およびムーニー粘度を測定した。これらの測定結果を表1に示す。
 〔比較例2:共役ジエン系ゴムiiの調製〕
 攪拌機付きオートクレーブに、窒素雰囲気下、シクロヘキサン4000g、1,3-ブタジエン357.7g、およびスチレン132.3gを仕込んだ後、テトラエチレンジアミン7.5mmolを加え、さらに、n-ブチルリチウム5.4mmolを加え、40℃で重合を開始した。重合を開始してから10分経過後、1,3-ブタジエン195.3g、およびスチレン14.7gを60分間かけて連続的に添加した。重合反応中の最高温度は60℃であった。連続添加終了後、さらに20分間重合反応を継続し、重合転化率が95%から100%の範囲になったことを確認してから、次いで、イソプレン7.0gを添加し、10分間反応させた。次いで、上記式(VII)で表されるポリオルガノシロキサンA0.023mmolを20重量パーセント濃度のキシレン溶液の状態で添加し、30分間反応させた。その後、重合停止剤として、使用したn-ブチルリチウムの2倍モルに相当する量のメタノールを添加して、共役ジエン系ゴムiiを含有する溶液を得た。この溶液に、老化防止剤として、イルガノックス1520L(チバスペシャリティーケミカルズ社製)を、共役ジエン系ゴムii 100部に対して0.15部添加した後、スチームストリッピングにより溶媒を除去し、60℃で24時間真空乾燥して、固形状の共役ジエン系ゴムiiを得た。
 このゴムについて、重量平均分子量、分子量分布、カップリング率、スチレン単位含有量、ビニル結合含有量、およびムーニー粘度を測定した。これらの測定結果を表1に示す。
 〔比較例3:共役ジエン系ゴムiiiの調製〕
 攪拌機付きオートクレーブに、窒素雰囲気下、シクロヘキサン4000g、1,3-ブタジエン357.7g、およびスチレン132.3gを仕込んだ後、テトラエチレンジアミン6.7mmolを加え、さらに、n-ブチルリチウム4.9mmolを加え、40℃で重合を開始した。重合を開始してから10分経過後、1,3-ブタジエン195.3g、およびスチレン14.7gを60分間かけて連続的に添加した。重合反応中の最高温度は60℃であった。連続添加終了後、さらに20分間重合反応を継続し、重合転化率が95%から100%の範囲になったことを確認してから、次いで、N,N-ビス(トリメチルシリル)-3-アミノプロピルトリエトキシシラン0.55mmolを20重量パーセント濃度のキシレン溶液の状態で添加し、10分間反応させた。次いで、N,N-ビス(トリメチルシリル)-3-アミノプロピルトリエトキシシラン2.5mmolを20重量パーセント濃度のキシレン溶液の状態で添加し、30分間反応させた。その後、重合停止剤として、使用したn-ブチルリチウムの2倍モルに相当する量のメタノールを添加して、共役ジエン系ゴムiiiを含有する溶液を得た。この溶液に、老化防止剤として、イルガノックス1520L(チバスペシャリティーケミカルズ社製)を共役ジエン系ゴムiii 100部に対して0.15部添加した後、スチームストリッピングにより溶媒を除去し、60℃で24時間真空乾燥して、固形状の共役ジエン系ゴムiiiを得た。
 このゴムについて、重量平均分子量、分子量分布、カップリング率、スチレン単位含有量、ビニル結合含有量、およびムーニー粘度を測定した。これらの測定結果を表1に示す。
 〔比較例4:共役ジエン系ゴムivの調製〕
 窒素置換された800mlガラスボトルに、シクロヘキサン200g、およびテトラメチルエチレンジアミン7.0mmolを添加し、さらに、n-ブチルリチウム5.0mmolを添加した。次いで、イソプレン50gをゆっくりと添加し、60℃のガラスボトル内で120分反応させることにより、開始剤6を得た。この開始剤6(イソプレンブロック)について、重量平均分子量、分子量分布、およびビニル結合含有量を測定した。これらの測定結果を表1に示す。
 次に、攪拌機付きオートクレーブに、窒素雰囲気下、シクロヘキサン4000g、1,3-ブタジエン357.7g、およびスチレン132.3gを仕込んだ後、開始剤6を全量加え、40℃で重合を開始した。重合を開始してから10分経過後、1,3-ブタジエン195.3g、およびスチレン14.7gを60分間かけて連続的に添加した。重合反応中の最高温度は60℃であった。連続添加終了後、さらに20分間重合反応を継続し、重合転化率が95%から100%の範囲になったことを確認してから、次いで、N,N-ビス(トリメチルシリル)-3-アミノプロピルトリエトキシシラン0.49mmolを20重量パーセント濃度のキシレン溶液の状態で添加し、10分間反応させた。次いで、N,N-ビス(トリメチルシリル)-3-アミノプロピルトリエトキシシラン2.5mmolを20重量パーセント濃度のキシレン溶液の状態で添加し、30分間反応させた。その後、重合停止剤として、使用したn-ブチルリチウムの2倍モルに相当する量のメタノールを添加して、共役ジエン系ゴムivを含有する溶液を得た。この溶液に、老化防止剤として、イルガノックス1520L(チバスペシャリティーケミカルズ社製)を共役ジエン系ゴムiv 100部に対して0.15部添加した後、スチームストリッピングにより溶媒を除去し、60℃で24時間真空乾燥して、固形状の共役ジエン系ゴムivを得た。
 このゴムについて、重量平均分子量、分子量分布、カップリング率、スチレン単位含有量、ビニル結合含有量、およびムーニー粘度を測定した。これらの測定結果を表1に示す。
 〔実施例5:共役ジエン系ゴムIを含むゴム組成物の特性の評価〕
 容積250mlのバンバリーミキサーを用いて、実施例1で得た共役ジエン系ゴムI 100部を素練りし、それに、シリカ(商品名「Zeosil 1165MP」、ローディア社製、窒素吸着比表面積(BET法):163m/g)40部、シランカップリング剤(ビス(3-(トリエトキシシリル)プロピル)テトラスルフィド、商品名「Si69」、デグッサ社製)4.3部、およびプロセスオイル(商品名「フッコール エラミック30」、新日本石油社製)10部を添加して、110℃を開始温度として1.5分間混練した。この混練物に、シリカ(商品名「Zeosil 1165MP」、ローディア社製)14部、カーボンブラック(商品名「シースト7HM」、東海カーボン社製)6部、酸化亜鉛(亜鉛華1号)3部、ステアリン酸(商品名「SA-300」、旭電化工業社製)2部、および老化防止剤(N-フェニル-N’-(1,3-ジメチルブチル)-p-フェニレンジアミン、商品名「ノクラック6C」、大内新興化学工業社製)2部を添加し、2.5分間混練して、バンバリーミキサーからゴム組成物を排出させた。混練終了時のゴム組成物の温度は150℃であった。このゴム組成物を、室温まで冷却した後、再度バンバリーミキサー中で、3分間混練した後、バンバリーミキサーからゴム組成物を排出させた。次いで、50℃のオープンロールを用いて、得られたゴム組成物と、硫黄1.6部および架橋促進剤(N-t-ブチル-2-ベンゾチアゾールスルフェンアミド(商品名「ノクセラーNS」、大内新興化学工業社製)1.4部と、ジフェニルグアニジン(商品名「ノクセラーD」、大内新興化学工業社製)1.4部との混合物)とを混練した後、シート状のゴム組成物を取り出した。
 このゴム組成物を、160℃で20分間プレス架橋して各試験片を作製し、この各試験片について、引張強度、ウエットグリップ性、低発熱性、および操縦安定性の評価を行なった。表2にその結果を示す。

 共役ジエン系ゴムIに代えて、実施例2で得た共役ジエン系ゴムII(実施例6)、実施例3で得た共役ジエン系ゴムIII(実施例7)、実施例4で得た共役ジエン系ゴムIV(実施例8)、比較例1で得た共役ジエン系ゴムi(比較例5)、比較例2で得た共役ジエン系ゴムii(比較例6)、比較例3で得た共役ジエン系ゴムiii(比較例7)、比較例4で得た共役ジエン系ゴムiv(比較例8)をそれぞれ同量用いたこと以外は、実施例5と同様の方法でゴム組成物を得て、試験片の評価を行った。表2にその結果を示す。
 以上の結果から以下のようなことが分かった。すなわち、本発明の共役ジエン系ゴムに該当する実施例1~4の共役ジエン系ゴムを含有してなる、本発明のゴム組成物(実施例5~8)は、イソプレンブロックを有している末端と異なる末端が変性剤によって変性されていない比較例1の共役ジエン系ゴム、変性末端と異なる末端にイソプレンブロックを有していない比較例2,3の共役ジエン系ゴム、または3分岐以上のカップリング率が5重量%を下回る比較例4の共役ジエン系ゴムを含有してなるゴム組成物(比較例5~8)に比して、その架橋物(タイヤに相当する)の引張強度、低発熱性、ウエットグリップ性、および操縦安定性のいずれにも優れていた。
 本発明は、ゴムおよび樹脂などを利用するあらゆる工業分野において利用可能であり、とりわけ、タイヤなどのゴム製品に好適に利用可能である。

Claims (8)

  1.  少なくとも一方の端がイソプレン単量体単位を70重量%以上有するイソプレンブロックであり、他方の端が活性末端である共役ジエン系重合体鎖と、
     エポキシ基およびヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基の少なくとも何れかを1分子中に1以上有し、エポキシ基の1分子中の数およびヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基に含まれるヒドロカルビルオキシ基の1分子中の数の合計が3以上である変性剤と、
    が反応することにより得られる、3以上の上記共役ジエン系重合体鎖が上記変性剤を介して結合してなる構造体を、5重量%以上含有する、共役ジエン系ゴム。
  2.  上記イソプレンブロックにおけるイソプレン単量体単位中のビニル結合含有量が21~85重量%である、請求項1に記載の共役ジエン系ゴム。
  3.  上記共役ジエン系重合体鎖におけるイソプレンブロック以外の部分が、共役ジエン単量体の単独重合体鎖、または共役ジエン単量体と芳香族ビニル単量体との共重合体鎖であり、共役ジエン単量体単位と芳香族ビニル単量体単位との重量比(共役ジエン単量体単位:芳香族ビニル単量体単位)が、100:0~50:50である、請求項1または2に記載の共役ジエン系ゴム。
  4.  請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の共役ジエン系ゴムを含有するゴム成分100重量部と、シリカ10~200重量部とを含有してなる、ゴム組成物。
  5.  架橋剤をさらに含有してなる、請求項4に記載のゴム組成物。
  6.  請求項5に記載のゴム組成物を成形および架橋してなる、ゴム架橋物。
  7.  請求項6に記載のゴム架橋物を用いてなる、タイヤ。
  8.  不活性溶媒中、イソプレン単量体またはイソプレン単量体を含有する単量体混合物を、重合開始剤を用いてリビング重合することにより、活性末端を有するイソプレンブロックを形成させ、次いで、共役ジエン単量体または共役ジエン単量体を含有する単量体混合物を、前記イソプレンブロックに結合させ、引き続きリビング重合することにより、少なくとも一方の端がイソプレン単量体単位を70重量%以上有するイソプレンブロックであり、他方の端が活性末端である共役ジエン系重合体鎖を得て、
     上記共役ジエン系重合体鎖の活性末端と、エポキシ基およびヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基の少なくとも何れかを1分子中に1以上有し、エポキシ基の1分子中の数およびヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基に含まれるヒドロカルビルオキシ基の1分子中の数の合計が3以上である変性剤とを、
     重合反応に使用した重合開始剤1molに対して、上記共役ジエン系重合体鎖の活性末端と反応する変性剤中の、エポキシ基と、ヒドロカルビルオキシシリル基に含まれるヒドロカルビルオキシ基との合計mol数の比が、0.1~5になるように反応させる、共役ジエン系ゴムの製造方法。
