(57)【要約】 【課題】 組合わせの変化に多様性があり興趣が盛上が
る遊戯機用シンボル表示装置及びスロットマシン並びに
パチンコ機を提供する。 【解決手段】 第１リール６は、外周面１７ａに縁取り
線８０や枠８２と、透明部８１，８４とからなる複数種
類のシンボルが配列された外リール１７と、この外リー
ル１７の内側で回転され外周面１８ａに複数種類の色が
着色された表示部１９が設けられた内リール１８とから
なる。第１リール６の回転停止後に得られるシンボル
は、外リール１７のシンボルの縁取り線８０や枠８２
と、透明部８１，８４から観察される内リール１８の表
示部１９とからなる合成シンボルとなり、組み合わせの
変化に多様性が得られる。

【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【発明の属する技術分野】本発明は、遊戯機用シンボル
表示装置と、このシンボル表示装置を用いたスロットマ
シン並びにパチンコ機とに関するものである。
【０００２】
【従来の技術】スロットマシンに限らずパチンコ機等の
遊戯機器にも、盤面にシンボル表示装置が組み込まれた
ものが主流を占めるようになっている。遊戯機用シンボ
ル表示装置としては、外周面に複数種のシンボルが配列
されたリールが実際に回転されるリール駆動タイプのも
のや、ＲＯＭに格納されたグラフィックデータに基づい
て疑似的にリールの回転をＣＲＴや液晶表示装置に表示
してシンボルの移動する様子を再現するビデオタイプの
ものとがある。いずれのタイプにしても、シンボルの移
動表示後にシンボル表示窓に表示される複数のシンボル
のうち、入賞ライン上に配列されたシンボルの組み合わ
せによって入賞の有無が決定されている。最もシンプル
なシンボル表示装置としては、複数のリールを並べて入
賞ラインを横方向で１列としたものであり、ゲーム内容
が把握しやすく手軽に遊戯できるという利点がある。
【０００３】しかしながら、上記１列の入賞ラインを備
えたシンボル表示装置では、シンボルの組み合わせの変
化に乏しくゲームの趣向に多様性をもたせることができ
ず、リールの回転が停止した時点で即座にシンボルが停
止されてしまうことから、ゲームが単調になりやすいと
いう欠点があった。このような欠点を解決するために、
入賞ラインやリール数が増加されたシンボル表示装置
や、リールを透明な外リールと、この外リールの内側で
回転される内リールとの二重構成として、シンボルの組
合わせ数を増やすようにしたシンボル表示装置も各種提
案されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】しかしながら、上記の
ようなシンボル表示装置ではゲーム内容が複雑となり、
入賞時にどのラインにどのシンボルの組み合わせが成立
したのかを瞬時に判別することが難しく、特に初心者等
ではゲーム内容を把握できないままゲームが終了してし
まう等の欠点があった。すなわち、従来のシンボル表示
装置においては、シンボルの種類や入賞ラインの数が少
ないほどゲーム内容は分かりやすいが単調なものとな
り、これとは逆にシンボルの種類と入賞ライン数とを増
やすとゲームへの興趣は高まるが、ゲーム内容が複雑に
なって把握に時間が掛かる等の相反する欠点があった。
【０００５】また、外リールと内リールとからなるシン
ボル表示装置では、透明な外リールのシンボルと内リー
ルのシンボルとが重なり合い、更にはシンボル以外の不
必要な部分までも透視される為、かえってシンボルの判
別が難しくなるという問題があった。
【０００６】本発明は、上記課題に鑑みてなされたもの
で、シンボルの組み合わせの変化に多様性をもたせて遊
戯者の興趣を盛り上げることのできるシンボル表示装置
と、これを用いてゲーム内容が簡明で分かりやすいスロ
ットマシン並びにパチンコ機とを提供することにある。
【０００７】
【課題を解決するための手段】上記問題点を解決するた
めに、請求項１記載の遊戯機用シンボル表示装置は、回
転自在な外リールとその内側で回転自在な内リールとか
ら構成し、外リールには不透明な外周面の円周方向に複
数種類のシンボルを配列するとともに、これらのシンボ
ルの少なくとも一個にシンボルの種類を表す不透明なパ
ターンの内側に透明部を設けたものである。内リールの
外周面には、円周方向にそれぞれ着色又は模様が異なっ
た複数種類の表示部を配列したものである。そして、両
リールが停止して外リールによって透明部を有するシン
ボルが表示窓に現れたときには、シンボルの種類を表す
不透明なパターンと、このパターン内の透明部を通して
観察される内リールのいずれかの表示部との組合せによ
り合成シンボルを決定するようにしたものである。これ
によれば、外リールのシンボルと内リールの表示部との
組み合わせによって多様な合成シンボルが得られる。
【０００８】また、請求項２記載の遊戯機用シンボル表
示装置は、透明部を有するシンボルを複数種類設け、そ
れぞれシンボルの種類を表す不透明なパターンに応じて
透明部の形状を異なるようにしたものである。これによ
れば、透明部から観察される内リールの表示部の形状も
シンボル毎に異なるようになる。
【０００９】更に、請求項３記載の遊戯機用シンボル表
示装置は、不透明なパターンに外リールの外周面とは異
なる着色を施すようにしたものである。これによれば、
外リールのシンボルの視認性が向上する。
【００１０】また、請求項４記載の遊戯機用シンボル表
示装置は、透明部を外リールに形成された開口としたも
のである。これによれば、シンボル全体が内リールの表
示部により変化し、より興趣の盛り上がるものとなる。
【００１１】更に、請求項５記載のシンボル表示装置
は、不透明な外周面の円周方向に、シンボル形状をした
透明部からなるシンボルが配列された外リールと、この
外リールの内側で回転され、外周面の円周方向にそれぞ
れ着色又は模様が異なった複数種類の表示部が配列され
た内リールとから構成し、両リールが停止した時に、外
リールの透明部とこの透明部を通して観察される内リー
ルのいずれかの表示部との組合せにより合成シンボルを
決定するようにしたものである。
【００１２】また、請求項６記載の遊戯機用シンボル表
示装置は、複数のローラに掛けられて移送される外ベル
トとその内側で複数のローラに掛けられて移送される内
ベルトとから構成し、外ベルトには不透明な外周面の移
送方向に複数種類のシンボルを配列するとともに、これ
らのシンボルの少なくとも一個にシンボルの種類を表す
不透明なパターンの内側に透明部が設けたものである内
ベルトの外周面には、移送方向にそれぞれ着色又は模様
が異なった複数種類の表示部を配列したものである。そ
して、両ベルトが停止して外ベルトによって透明部を有
するシンボルが表示窓に現れたときには、シンボルの種
類を表す不透明なパターンと、このパターン内の透明部
を通して観察される内ベルトのいずれかの表示部との組
合せにより合成シンボルが決定するようにしたものであ
る。
【００１３】更に、請求項７記載のスロットマシンは、
請求項１〜６記載のシンボル表示装置を少なくとも１個
設け、このシンボル表示装置によって表示窓に表された
シンボル又は合成シンボルの組合せにより入賞の有無を
決めるようにしたものである。これによれば、多様なシ
ンボルの組合せが得られるスロットマシンとなる。
【００１４】また、請求項８記載のパチンコ機は、請求
項１〜６記載のシンボル表示装置を少なくとも１個設
け、このシンボル表示装置によって表示窓に表されたシ
ンボル又は合成シンボルの組合せにより入賞の有無を決
めるようにしたものである。これによれば、より興趣の
盛り上がるパチンコ機を得ることができる。
【００１５】
【発明の実施の形態】本発明のシンボル表示装置を用い
たスロットマシンの外観を示す図２において、スロット
マシン２の中央には３個のシンボル表示窓３，４，５が
形成されている。このシンボル表示窓３〜５の奥には、
第１リール６，第２リール７，第３リール８からなるリ
ール駆動タイプのシンボル表示装置が配置されている。
スロットマシン２の側面には、スタートハンドル１１
が、前面には左側からチェンジボタン１２ａ，ペイアウ
トボタン１２ｂ，１ベットボタン１３ａ，マックスベッ
トボタン１３ｂ，スピンボタン１４が設けられている。
【００１６】前記第１〜第３リール６〜８には、その外
周面の円周方向に沿って、何も記されていないブランク
シンボルを含む複数種類のシンボルが配列されている。
これらの第１〜第３リール６〜８は、コイン投入口１０
へのコインの投入後にスタートレバー１１又はスピンボ
タン１４が操作されると一斉に回転され、所定時間経過
後にストップ信号を受けて停止される。リール６〜８が
停止したとき、シンボル表示窓３〜４に表示されたシン
ボルの組み合わせが入賞に該当する場合には、その入賞
役に応じた枚数のコインが受皿１５に払い出される。
【００１７】第１〜第３リール６〜８は、それぞれ外リ
ールと内リールとから構成されている。図１は、第１リ
ール６についてその構造を図示したもので、外リール１
７は樹脂性素材等の軽量で耐久性のある材質からなり、
外周面１７ａ全体は例えば白色とされて不透明となって
いる。外周面１７ａの円周方向には、「１ＢＡＲ」，
「２ＢＡＲ」，「３ＢＡＲ」，「７」等のシンボルが一
定間隔でランダムに配列されている。
【００１８】図３（Ａ）に示すように、シンボル「７」
は不透明なパターンである縁取り線８０と、この縁取り
線８０の内側に設けられた透明部８１とから構成されて
いる。透明部８１からは、外リール１７の内側に配置さ
れた内リール１８の外周面が観察できるようになってい
る。縁取り線８０は、外周面１７ａと異なる色、例えば
黒色等とされて識別しやすくなっている。
【００１９】シンボル「１ＢＡＲ」は、同図（Ｂ）に示
すように、周囲の長方形の枠８２と、文字８３とが不透
明なパターンとなっており、枠８２内で文字８３以外の
部分が透明部８４とされている。なお、シンボル「２Ｂ
ＡＲ」，「３ＢＡＲ」についても、シンボル「１ＢＡ
Ｒ」と同様に文字以外の枠内が透明部となっている。ま
た、枠８２と文字８３との色は、例えば黒と青というよ
うに異なる色を用いてもよい。
【００２０】前記透明部８１，８４は、外リール１７全
体あるいは一部を透明な樹脂性素材等で成形し、その外
周面１７ａに各シンボルの縁取り線８０や枠８２，文字
８３等を描くか、あるいは縁取り線８０や枠８２，文字
８３が印刷された透明フイルムを貼付し、その後に外周
面１７ａ全体を白色で不透明に着色することにより作ら
れている。
【００２１】また、同図（Ｃ）に示すように、外リール
１７の外周面１７ａに不透明なパターンである縁取り線
を設けずに、透明部８８のみを設けるようにしてもよ
い。同図（Ａ）に示した透明部８１の周囲に縁取り線８
０があるシンボルの場合には、縁取り線８０の内側が内
リール１８の外周面１８ａにしたがって変化されるが、
透明部８４のみのシンボルの場合には、シンボル全体が
内リール１８の外周面１８ａによって変化されることに
なる。
【００２２】また、図４に示すように、外リール１７を
白色等の不透明な樹脂性素材で成形し、その外周面１７
ａにシンボル形状の開口８５を形成して透明部とするこ
ともできる。なお、図では縁取り線８６の内側に開口８
５を設けた例となっているが、この縁取り線８６は省略
することもできる。更に、透明部を開口８５とした場
合、開口８５が回転時の空気抵抗となって外リール１７
の回転にブレが生じることがあるので、開口８５に透明
な樹脂板８７を嵌め込んだり、樹脂板８７の代わりにレ
ンズを嵌め込んで内リール１８の表示部を拡大して見や
すくすることもできる。更に、外周面１７ａの外側ある
いは内側に透明なフイルムを貼着しても同様の効果が得
られる。
【００２３】内リール１８は、図１に示すように不透明
な樹脂性素材等で成形されており、外周面１８ａの円周
方向には外リール１７のシンボルに対応した位置にそれ
ぞれ「赤（格子縞）」，「青（斜線）」，「白」の３色
にランダムに着色された表示部１９が設けられている。
これら表示部１９は、第１リール６の停止時に外リール
１７のシンボルの背後に配置され、外リール１７の透明
部８１，８４から視認できるようになっている。すなわ
ち、内リール１８の表示部１９は外リール１７のシンボ
ルに３色の異なる色を付与するもので、外リール１７の
シンボルの例えば「１ＢＡＲ」を「１ＢＡＲ−赤」，
「１ＢＡＲ−青」，「１ＢＡＲ−白」という３種類のシ
ンボルにすることができる。
【００２４】なお、第２リール７及び第３リール８も、
第１リール６と同様に外リール２０，２１と、内リール
２２，２３（図５参照）とから構成されており、外リー
ル２０，２１のシンボルの透明部から内リール２２，２
３の表示部を視認できるようになっている。
【００２５】外リール１７と内リール１８とには取付け
板２５，２６が一体に形成されており、それぞれステッ
ピングモータの軸に固着される。図５は、第１〜第３リ
ール６〜８を一体に組み付けたリールアセンブリを示し
ている。ベース基板２７にはリール保持用のブラケット
２８が固着され、このブラケット２８には、リールごと
に２個ずつのステッピングモータ２９ａ，２９ｂ、３０
ａ，３０ｂ、３１ａ，３１ｂと、中央に開口３２ａ，３
３ａが形成された回転支持板３２，３３とが例えば六角
ボルトにより固定されている。
【００２６】前記ステッピングモータ２９ａ，３０ａ，
３１ａの軸には、それぞれ第１〜第３リール６〜８の外
リール１７，２０，２１が固定され、ステッピングモー
タ２９ｂ，３０ｂ，３１ｂの軸には、第１〜第３リール
６〜８の内リール１８，２２，２３が固定されている。
そして、各々の外リール１７，２０，２１は回転支持板
３２の内面に摺接して回転が案内され、内リール１８，
２２，２３は回転支持板３３の内面に摺接して回転が案
内されるようになっている。
【００２７】図６は、上記スロットマシンの構成を簡単
に示したブロック図である。マイクロプロセッサユニッ
ト（ＭＰＵ）３５は、プログラムＲＯＭ３６に格納され
ているシーケンスプログラムにしたがってゲームを実行
させる。コインセンサー３７は、コイン投入口１０から
投入されたコインを検出してＭＰＵ３５に入力する。ス
タート信号発生部３８は、スタートレバー１１あるいは
スピンボタン１４の操作を検出してスタート信号をＭＰ
Ｕ３５に入力する。このスタート信号の入力によりＭＰ
Ｕ３５は第１〜第３リール６〜８を回転させる。
【００２８】第１〜第３リール６〜８の回転は、ＭＰＵ
３５がドライバ４０ａ，４０ｂ、４１ａ，４１ｂ、４２
ａ，４２ｂにクロックパルスを供給することによって開
始される。各々のドライバ４０ａ〜４２ｂは、ＭＰＵ３
５からのクロックパルスを受け、その周波数に対応して
各ステッピングモータ２９ａ〜３１ｂに駆動パルスを供
給する。
【００２９】ステッピングモータ２９ａ〜３１ｂは、駆
動パルスの供給ごとに一定角度ずつ回転するから、駆動
パルスの個数を計数することによってその回転角を知る
ことができる。このため、ドライバ４０ａ〜４２ｂから
出力される駆動パルスは、各々対応して設けられたカウ
ンタ４４ａ，４４ｂ、４５ａ，４５ｂ、４６ａ，４６ｂ
で計数されるようになっている。なお、ステッピングモ
ータ２９ａ，３０ａ，３１ａは外リール１７，２０，２
１駆動用、ステッピングモータ２９ｂ，３０ｂ，３１ｂ
は内リール１８，２２，２３駆動用となっており、回転
方向は同一とされているが、外リールの方が内リールよ
りもやや速い回転速度で回転される。
【００３０】前記カウンタ４４ａ〜４６ｂのリセット端
子には、ステッピングモータ２９ａ〜３１ｂが回転の原
点位置を通過するごとにリセットパルスが入力され、そ
のたびに計数値は「０」にクリアされるから、カウンタ
４４ａ〜４６ｂの計数値はステッピングモータ２９ａ〜
３１ｂの１回転内での回転角に対応した値となってい
る。
【００３１】また、各リール１７，１８，２０，２２，
２１，２３の外周に施されたシンボルの配列順と、ステ
ッピングモータ２９ａ〜３１ｂがちょうど原点位置で停
止したときにシンボル表示窓３〜５に現れるシンボルの
種類は予め分かっているから、カウンタ４４ａ〜４６ｂ
の計数値に基づき、シンボル表示窓３〜５に現れるシン
ボルを特定することができる。
【００３２】外リールストップ信号発生部４８は、外リ
ール１７，２０，２１の回転開始とともに作動され、ラ
ンダムなタイミングで３個の外リールストップ信号を発
生してＭＰＵ３５に入力する。ＭＰＵ３５は、これらの
外リールストップ信号を受けて、外リール１７，２０，
２１の回転を停止させる。例えば、第１リール６が回転
している状態で外リールストップ信号が発生されると、
ドライバ４０ａへのクロックパルスの供給が断たれ、こ
れによりステッピングモータ２９ａには駆動パルスが供
給されなくなり、外リール１７の回転が停止されるよう
になる。
【００３３】内リールストップ信号発生部５０は、外リ
ール１７，２０，２１の回転が各外リールストップ信号
で停止された後に作動し、ランダムなタイミングで３個
の内リールストップ信号を発生してＭＰＵ３５に入力す
る。ＭＰＵ３５は、これらの内リールストップ信号を受
け、前述した外リール１７，２０，２１の停止と同様の
処理により内リール１８，２２，２３の回転を停止させ
る。
【００３４】内リール１８，２２，２３の停止により、
外リール１７，２０，２１の透明部８１，８４に内リー
ル１８，２２，２３の表示部１９が現れる。これによ
り、外リール１８，２２，２３のシンボルは内リール１
８，２２，２３の表示部１９とのコントラストによって
浮き上がるようにはっきりと視認することができ、遊戯
者が初心者の場合でも確実にシンボル列の識別が可能と
なる。また、遊戯者自身へのシンボルの視認性だけでは
なく、周囲の遊戯者へのアピール性も向上する。
【００３５】入賞判定部５２は、第１〜第３リール６〜
８の回転が停止した後に、シンボル表示窓３〜５に表示
されたシンボルの組み合わせが入賞に該当しているか否
かを判定する。シンボル表示窓３〜５に表示されている
シンボルの種類は、前述したようにカウンタ４４ａ〜４
６ｂの計数値に対応して識別することができる。そし
て、この入賞判定の結果として入賞が得られていると、
コイン払出し器５３がＭＰＵ３５からの指令により作動
し、入賞役に応じた枚数の配当コインを受皿１５に払い
出す。
【００３６】次に、上記スロットマシンの作用について
説明する。コイン投入口１０にコインが投入され、スタ
ートレバー１１又はスピンボタン１４が操作されると、
ＭＰＵ３５は全てのドライバ４０ａ〜４２ｂにクロック
パルスを供給し、これにより各ドライバ４０ａ〜４２ｂ
からステッピングモータ２９ａ〜３１ｂに駆動パルスが
供給される。
【００３７】駆動パルスの供給によりステッピングモー
タ２９ａ〜３１ｂが駆動されると、第１〜第３リール６
〜８が一斉に回転される。外リール１７，２０，２１と
内リール１８，２２，２３とは、図１において反時計方
向に回転され、更に外リールの方が内リールよりもやや
速く回転される。したがってシンボル表示窓３〜５を通
し、外リール１７，２０，２１はシンボルが上から下向
きに移動する状態で観察され、内リール１８，２２，２
３については外リール１７，２０，２１の透明部８１，
８４を通して、表示部１９が上から下向きに移動する状
態で観察され、遊戯者に興趣を与えることができる。な
お、外リールと内リールとを逆方向に回転させることも
できる。
【００３８】第１〜３リール６〜８の回転が開始される
と、外リールストップ信号発生部４８が作動してランダ
ムなタイミングで順次に３つの外リールストップ信号を
ＭＰＵ３５に入力する。これにより、外リール１７，２
０，２１の回転がそれぞれ停止される。したがって、シ
ンボル表示窓３〜５には外リール１７，２０，２１のシ
ンボルのみが停止状態で表示される。
【００３９】従来のシンボル表示装置を用いたスロット
マシンでは、この時点でシンボル表示窓３〜５に表示さ
れるシンボルの組み合わせが決定してしまうため興趣が
殺がれてしまうが、本発明のリール駆動タイプのシンボ
ル表示装置を用いたスロットマシンでは、内リール駆動
用のステッピングモータ２９ｂ〜３１ｂが駆動を継続し
ているため、内リール１８，２２，２３は回転状態にあ
り、表示部１９が移動している状態が外リール１７，２
０，２１の透明部８１，８４を通して観察することがで
きるので、興趣が持続される。
【００４０】外リール１７の移動表示が全て終わった
後、内リールストップ信号発生部５０が作動して順次に
３つの内リールストップ信号をＭＰＵ３５に入力する。
これにより内リール１８，２２，２３の回転が停止さ
れ、図７に示すように、第１〜第３リール６〜８の全て
が停止された状態となる。これにより、外リール１７，
２０，２１のシンボル「３ＢＡＲ」，「２ＢＡＲ」，
「７」の透明部８１，８４から、内リール１８，２２，
２３の表示部１９「白」，「青」，「赤」が観察できる
ようになり、シンボル表示窓３〜５に表示されるシンボ
ルは「３ＢＡＲ−白」，「２ＢＡＲ−青」，「７−赤」
の合成シンボルとなる。
【００４１】その後、ＭＰＵ３５では、全てのカウンタ
４４ａ〜４６ｂでの計数値を参照して、シンボル表示窓
３〜５に表示されている合成シンボルの種類を識別し、
これをシンボルの組合わせデータに基づいて入賞判定部
５２で入賞判定が行われる。そして、入賞判定部５２で
入賞と判定された場合には、ＭＰＵ３５がコイン払出し
器５３を駆動して受皿１５に入賞役相当の枚数のコイン
を払い出し、１ゲーム終了となる。
【００４２】なお、図７に示すシンボル列は入賞してい
ないが、入賞の種類としては外リール１７，２０，２１
のシンボルのみが揃った状態と、内リール１８，２２，
２３の表示部１９の色が揃った状態とをそれぞれ小役と
し、外リール１７，２０，２１のシンボルと内リール１
８，２２，２３の表示部１９の色とが揃った状態を大役
として設定している。入賞シンボルの組み合わせや配当
は、入賞判定部５２の設定を書き換えることにより適宜
に変更することが可能である。
【００４３】また、外リールと内リールとの回転の停止
を外リールストップ信号発生部及び内リールストップ信
号発生部とで行うようにしたが、外リールの停止を遊戯
者がボタン操作により任意に行えるようにしてもよい
し、外リール，内リールともに、遊戯者がボタン操作に
より任意に停止できるようにしてもよい。
【００４４】また、外リールと内リールとを同時に停止
させ、外リールと内リールとのいずれかが入賞役として
揃った場合に他方のリールを再度回転させたり、更に回
転速度を変化させたりして高配当入賞への期待感をより
盛り上げるようにすることもできる。このように本発明
はゲーム性を加味し、種々設計変更可能である。
【００４５】外リールのシンボルは、「ＢＡＲ」や
「７」等に限らず、図８に示すような「チェリー」や、
「ベル」，「オレンジ」等を用いてもよい。なお「チェ
リー」等の複雑な形状のシンボルの場合には、縁取り線
５４だけで形状を表すことは難しいため、透明部５５に
符号５５ａ，５５ｂのような不透明部を設け、この不透
明部を着色するようにしてもよい。また、縁取り線５４
も、実の部分を赤としたり、葉の部分を緑とする等、異
なる色を用いて着色すると、より遊戯者の興趣を盛り上
げることができる。
【００４６】更に、内リールの表示部は、外リールのシ
ンボルの縁取り線の視認性を悪化させない色ならば
「白」，「赤」，「青」に限定されるものではなく、
「黄色」や「緑」等の様々な色を用いてもよい。また、
単一の色だけではなく記号や模様，風景等を用いること
もでき、例えば外リールのシンボルと内リールの表示部
とで１枚の絵画が完成されるようにしてもよい。
【００４７】また、各リールの回転速度や回転方向、停
止する順番等は、適宜設定することが可能であり、上記
実施形態に限定されるものではない。更に、リールの数
も３個に限定されず、２個あるいは９個にしてマトリク
ス状に配置してもよい。当然、シンボル表示窓から表示
されるシンボル列の数も１列に限定されるものではな
く、２列あるいは３列にして入賞ラインを増やし、更に
斜め方向の入賞ラインを設定することもできる。
【００４８】更に、シンボル表示窓からのシンボルの視
認性を向上させるために、リール内に照明装置を設ける
こともできる。この場合、図９に示すように、内リール
６０を透明な樹脂性素材等で成形し、表示部を半透明な
塗料の塗布により形成して、内リール６０の内部にラン
プ等からなる照明装置６１を組み込む。これにより、内
リール６０を透過した照明光は外リール６２を照明する
ようになる。
【００４９】また、図１０に示すように、内リール６４
を小径化して、内リール６４と外リール６５との間に照
明装置６６を配置し、この照明装置６６からの照明光を
内リール６４に反射させて外リール６５を照明すること
もできる。また、内リール６４の外周面に着色された蛍
光シートあるいは発光シートを貼付し、必要により光を
当てるようにすると合成されたシンボルはより鮮やかに
見ることができる。
【００５０】本発明のシンボル表示装置におけるシンボ
ルと表示部とを合成して新たなシンボルとする発明は、
リール駆動タイプのシンボル表示装置以外に、ビデオタ
イプのシンボル表示装置にも用いることができる。この
場合には、ＣＲＴや液晶画像表示装置、ＬＥＤ画像表示
装置等にシンボルの縁取り線と表示部とを重ねた状態で
表示し、それぞれを異なる位相で移動表示して、ストッ
プ信号により移動表示が停止されたときに合成させて一
つのシンボルとして表示する。
【００５１】また、本発明のシンボル表示装置は、図１
１に示すように、ベルトを用いて構成することもでき
る。このシンボル表示装置９０は、不透明な外周面９１
ａに縁取り線９２ａと透明部９２ｂとからなる複数種類
のシンボルが配列された外ベルト９１と、この外ベルト
９１の内側に配置され、外周面９３ａに複数種類の表示
部９４が彩色された内ベルト９３とから構成されてい
る。
【００５２】外ベルト９１は、一対のフレーム９５に軸
支された一対のローラ９６に掛けられており、これらの
ローラ９６の回転によって移送されるようになってい
る。ローラ９６の両端部分の外周には、複数個の歯９６
ａが突設されており、これらの歯９６ａは外ベルト９１
の両側端部に形成された複数個の開口９７に噛合される
ようになっている。これにより、外ベルト９１とローラ
９６との間で滑り等が発生して外ベルト９１の位置がず
れてしまうようなことはない。
【００５３】内ベルト９３も外ベルト９１と同様に、一
対のフレーム９５に軸支された一対のローラ９８に掛け
られており、両側端部に形成された開口９９にローラ９
８の歯９８ａが噛合するようになっている。これらのロ
ーラ９６，９８の軸端部の外周には歯列が設けられてお
り、この歯列には歯付きベルト９９，１００が掛けられ
ている。この歯付きベルト９９，１００はステッピング
モータによって駆動され、これによりローラ９６，９８
が回転されて外ベルト９１と内ベルト９３とが移送され
る。このベルト駆動タイプのシンボル表示装置９０は、
上述のリール駆動タイプのシンボル表示装置のブロック
図とほぼ同様の構成で制御され、同様の作用，効果を得
ることができる。
【００５４】また、ベルト駆動タイプのシンボル表示装
置は、ローラの配置とローラへのベルト掛け方とを変更
することにより、リール駆動タイプのシンボル表示装置
よりも小型化することができる。
【００５５】更に、本発明のシンボル表示装置は、スロ
ットマシン以外に、図１２に示すようなパチンコ機に用
いることもできる。このパチンコ機７０では、中央部に
シンボル表示窓７２が設けられており、その奥に本発明
のリール駆動タイプのシンボル表示装置が組み込まれて
いる。遊戯者の操作によりパチンコ球がシンボル表示装
置始動用の入賞球受入れ口７１等に入ると、前述のスロ
ットマシンのシンボル表示装置のように外リールと内リ
ールとが回転される。そして、ランダムタイマーからの
ストップ信号によって外リールと内リールとが停止さ
れ、その際のシンボルと表示部との組み合わせによる合
成シンボルが入賞と判定されたときに、下方の可動入賞
口７３が一定時間開かれてパチンコ球を受け入れやすく
なる。
【００５６】なお、このパチンコ機７０に組み込まれる
シンボル表示装置は１個あるいは３個よりも多くてもよ
く、更にビデオタイプのシンボル表示装置やベルト駆動
タイプのシンボル表示装置を用いてもよい。また、本発
明はスロットマシンやパチンコ機への利用に限定される
ものではなく、この装置をシンボル表示部とした他のゲ
ーム機にも採用することができる。
【００５７】また、本発明のシンボル表示装置は、例え
ばリール駆動タイプとビデオタイプ、あるいはベルト駆
動タイプとビデオタイプとを組み合わせて使用すること
もできる。この場合、外側に透明部を有するシンボルが
配列されたリールあるいはベルトを配置し、その内側に
ビデオタイプのシンボル表示装置のＣＲＴや液晶画像表
示装置、ＬＥＤ画像表示装置等を配置して、外側のシン
ボルと内側の表示部とでシンボルを合成することもでき
る。
【００５８】更に、本発明のシンボル表示装置を用いた
ゲーム機には、照明や音響を効果的に用いることによ
り、より興趣の盛り上がるゲーム機を提供することがで
きる。

【発明の効果】以上説明したように、本発明のシンボル
表示装置は、外リールとこの外リールの内側で回転され
る内リールとからなり、外リールの不透明パターンと、
このパターン内の透明部から観察される内リールの表示
部とで新たな合成シンボルを形成するようにしたので、
リールやシンボル等を増やさずともシンボルの組み合わ
せの変化に多様性が得られる。また、外リールの外周面
を不透明にしたので、内リールが必要以上に観察される
ことがなく、従来の透明な外リールに比較してシンボル
表示装置の観察に伴う煩雑感が解消される。
【００６０】また、不透明なパターンの内側に透明部を
有するシンボル、あるいは透明部のみからなるシンボル
を複数種類設け、それぞれのシンボルの不透明なパター
ンに応じて透明部の形状を変え、不透明パターンを外リ
ールの外周面と異なるの着色とすることにより、シンボ
ルの視認性が大幅に向上されて初心者でも容易にシンボ
ルの組合せを判別することができ、更に興趣を盛り上げ
ることができる。
【００６１】更に、本発明のシンボル表示装置は、ベル
トを用いて構成してもリールを用いた場合と同様の作
用，効果を得ることができ、ベルトのローラへの掛け方
によってはシンボル表示装置を小型化することもでき
る。
【００６２】また、本発明のシンボル表示装置を用いた
スロットマシン及びパチンコ機は、シンボルの組み合わ
せが多様でありながら簡明なゲーム内容とすることがで
き、シンボルの視認性や判別しやすさが大幅に向上する
ため、非常に興趣の盛り上がるものとなる。

Claims (8)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】 回転自在な外リールとその内側で回転自
    在な内リールとからなり、前記外リールには不透明な外
    周面の円周方向に複数種類のシンボルが配列されるとと
    もに、これらのシンボルの少なくとも一個にはシンボル
    の種類を表す不透明なパターンの内側に透明部が設けら
    れ、前記内リールの外周面には円周方向にそれぞれ着色
    又は模様が異なった複数種類の表示部が配列されてお
    り、両リールが停止して外リールによって前記透明部を
    有するシンボルが表示窓に現れたときには、シンボルの
    種類を表す不透明なパターンと、このパターン内の透明
    部を通して観察される内リールのいずれかの表示部との
    組合せにより合成シンボルが決定されることを特徴とす
    る遊戯機用シンボル表示装置。
  2. 【請求項２】 前記透明部を有するシンボルは複数種類
    設けられ、それぞれシンボルの種類を表す不透明なパタ
    ーンに応じて透明部の形状が異なっていることを特徴と
    する請求項１記載の遊戯機用シンボル表示装置。
  3. 【請求項３】 前記不透明なパターンには外リールの外
    周面とは異なる着色が施されていることを特徴とする請
    求項１または２記載の遊戯機用シンボル表示装置。
  4. 【請求項４】 前記透明部は外リールに形成された開口
    であることを特徴とする請求項１ないし３いずれか記載
    の遊戯機用シンボル表示装置。
  5. 【請求項５】 回転自在な外リールとその内側で回転自
    在な内リールとからなり、前記外リールには不透明な外
    周面の円周方向に複数種類のシンボルが配列されるとと
    もに、これらのシンボルの少なくとも一個はシンボル形
    状をした透明部からなり、前記内リールの外周面には円
    周方向にそれぞれ着色又は模様が異なった複数種類の表
    示部が配列されており、両リールが停止して外リールに
    よって前記透明部からなるシンボルが表示窓に現れたと
    きには、透明部とこの透明部を通して観察される内リー
    ルのいずれかの表示部との組合せにより合成シンボルが
    決定されることを特徴とする遊戯機用シンボル表示装
    置。
  6. 【請求項６】 複数のローラに掛けられて移送される外
    ベルトとその内側で複数のローラに掛けられて移送され
    る内ベルトとからなり、前記外ベルトには不透明な外周
    面の移送方向に複数種類のシンボルが配列されるととも
    に、これらのシンボルの少なくとも一個にはシンボルの
    種類を表す不透明なパターンの内側に透明部が設けら
    れ、前記内ベルトの外周面には移送方向にそれぞれ着色
    又は模様が異なった複数種類の表示部が配列されてお
    り、両ベルトが停止して外ベルトによって前記透明部を
    有するシンボルが表示窓に現れたときには、シンボルの
    種類を表す不透明なパターンと、このパターン内の透明
    部を通して観察される内ベルトのいずれかの表示部との
    組合せにより合成シンボルが決定されることを特徴とす
    る遊戯機用シンボル表示装置。
  7. 【請求項７】 前記遊戯機用シンボル表示装置を少なく
    とも１個設け、このシンボル表示装置によって表示窓に
    表されたシンボル又は合成シンボルの組合せにより入賞
    の有無が決められることを特徴とするスロットマシン。
  8. 【請求項８】 前記遊戯機用シンボル表示装置を少なく
    とも１個設け、このシンボル表示装置によって表示窓に
    表されたシンボル又は合成シンボルの組合せにより入賞
    の有無が決められることを特徴とするパチンコ機。
